Professor Cassie's style seems to be fully back in motion this term as you can tell by the pinks and reds of the room. There are two chairs to one table and enough tables and chairs for all students. Something that you might find different about the room is the many cats roaming the room.
In the front of the room is the usual blackboard, teacher chair, and desk with tea and tea cups for anyone who would like a cup. To everyone's surprise, or not, the wonderful snap cup has returned and is sitting on a table with a sign. You will find Professor Cassie's own cats hanging out up front with cute little yellow bows near their ears as well as a very sunny looking Professor Cassie sipping her tea.

People were done, and she had only observed one cat as of yet. Great, now she needed to hustle and focus her attention so she wouldn't be receiving a failing mark. It was still really early into the year, but she wasn't starting out on such a good foot, and she needed to change that. As much as she hated fighting with Adi she couldn't let this ruin her. Or ruin her anymore than it already has.
Okay. One cat down. Which one was going to be next? Awww, there was a cute tabby looking one. Why not observe that one? AJ's eyes locked on the cat and she tried not to coo at him or pet him. That would ruin the reading, right? Or maybe it didn't matter. AJ never did pay that close of attention to all of the rules.
As she watched the cat her mind went to Adi. No, AJ. No more. For a minute the cat was just being still, and AJ wondered if he was going to be a dud when suddenly in moved around in a circle. He wasn't done there either. He did this three times in a row. That meant something, she was sure of it.
Textbook open, AJ scanned the page and found what it said about the cat's behavior. A new friend huh? Well, AJ would be lying if she said she couldn't go for some new friends. She had a lot, but who didn't like more?

With the notes on the latest cat complete, it was off to the next. Unfortunately those immediately around him were either in an unclear position or a repeat of his first one. Benny didn't think much of repeating his earlier interpretation. So he decided to move to another area of the classroom for perhaps a bit of fresh luck. Unless of course, all the felines wanted to give him the same sort of message for the future.
Turning to head another way, he didn't readily notice he had a tail.
Not the real kind like the reptilian one that Adi was so interested in giving him eventually. No...this one was a shadow as he moved, separate from him yet seemingly interested in what he was doing. It wasn't until he heard a meow coming from behind him that Benny turned to see it. He took a step back and the cat took a few. He took another...and his shadow continued to follow.
Follow...follow...follow.
Did that mean something too?
Checking the textbook he was answered. He was to receive money? Now that was a laugh and something he didn't see happening. His parents weren't ones to be too generous. Still, he wrote it down into his notes to count as something to perhaps be used for later for one thing or another. It was a different reading like he had been looking for.

Pushing her notebook under her arm as she looked for another cat--she didn't quite notice the one following her. Hmm. She walked all around to find one that caught her eye--when suddenly, she felt the little face of the cat nuzzle against her leg. HUH?
Eden glanced down, seeing the little guy--and stooped to pat his head. THe little CUTIE pie. Cats could be sweet...when they wanted to be, of course. She pulled away and stood up to go find a cat doing something interesting---but when she took a step, the cat was RIGHT behind her--and if she wasn't CAREFUL, she'd end up tripping.
And now...Eden decided to play around. She walked back and forth across the room-WHEEE--and tried to gage if she was being PARANOID or if this cat was ACTUALLY following her--and of course--
It was.
EDEN HAD A LOVER CAT.

1.The black cat with dark yellow eyes was laid out in a stretch out position. The stretched out position it means that good days are ahead with lots of sun.
2. The orange tabby cat was cute and adorable at first. Then it became accustomed to me and circled three times near the fire. The circling three times means you will gain a new friend.
3. The grey fluffy cat that seemed to be skittish and frighten of me, but it turns out he was shy and was cautious. I notice it jumped from its standing position and that means an intruder will be coming.
4. The white cat with the bright blue eyes began to swat at the air becauee a fly was in the room. If the cat swats at the air then you will recieve good news soon. I do like hearing good news. I mean who doesn't? Then the cat curled up into a ball and it means everything is still and calm for the moment, but one should keep alert for something coming in the future.
Hmm....that was interesting. He was going to ask about this. "Professor is it possible to have two readings at once? Because my cat swatted in the air and also curled up into a ball.." he said pointing to his white cat who was enjoying himself.
As the cupcakes were being passed out she warmed the tea in case anyone would like some before leaving. Oh and she had some treats for the kitties, but that wouldn't come out until everyone was fully done. Catnip with a bunch of cats, was not a good idea right now.

As Kace was looking at the white cat he heard the Professor's question and he honestly didn't know. "You know what I honestly don't know Professor.." he said observing the cat. He grinned and wrote the two readings just incase and he was glad Professor Cassie was interested in reading his notes. With that question on his mind, he began to observe one last cat before the class was over.
He walked over and noticed a Siamese cat. It seemed very young and thin. It seemed to be following him. It came towards him and rubbed his head against his pants. He smiled and thought the cat was adorable. He looked in his textbook for following me around and he found it.

The next cat Caleb picked as a gray one hanging out near his desk. The other white one had disappeared, which was good. Probably going on to let another person know they were going to come into a large sum of money later.
The cat was just sitting on his desk, but as Caleb got closer, the cat reached up and started pawing at him like he was trying to give him a high five. Oh, that was something, wasn't it?! He stopped to check his notes. Yes, it meant...good news! Probably relating to his newfound wealth.

Eden finally PLOPPED down and scratched the cat more behind his cuuuute wittle ears. He was REALLY loving on her, now. Rubbing against her knee---yeah. She flipped open her book once more--oh! It looked like him following her was a thing. Like...an actual thing.
Hmph. OHOHOHOHO! SHE WAS GETTIN' MONEY? That's what her book said, too--Oh my--Eden scribbled things down in her notebook and played with him? Her? some more. "Continue to follow me for the rest of my life." She wanted money. Money was always a GOOD thing.
Also, Eden was really glad she wasn't allergic to cats. How awful would that have been for today?

AJ couldn't help but wonder how these things were supposed to be true for each and every person in here. Granted ever since Cassie's grandpa had spoke through her she was a believer. The cat thing was a little far fetched though.
Wait. Cupcakes? There were cupcakes? Her mind had better not be playing tricks on her. Sweet treats were nothing to play at. That gave her even more motivation to hurry up with the cats. Leaving the one she was currently reading, AJ moved on to a white one. Ohhh, this one was pretty.
Do something, cat. Preferably something easy too. She didn't want to have to get all technical here especially since cupcakes were involved now. As she looked up she caught a smile from Angel. Without any kind of expression back, AJ turned her attention to her cat. She wasn't too happy with her sister at the moment for reasons.
This cat must be dirty because he took to licking his paws. Normal cat behavior here. When weren't they licking themselves? According to her notes this meant that she could be expecting a visitor from the direction that the cat was looking. Umm... there were lots of people over there.

It was time to look for cat number four and Janelle's eyes scanned the room. Which one would it be? Hmmmm. Aha! She found a bored looking cat lounging away from the crowd of students. Janelle immediately went into observation mode with her quill at the ready.
This cat looked like he was not impressed with anything that was going on. Maybe, she thought, he was observing the scene, just like she was. This cat was different from the last two. He seemed not to care that he was being watched and he certainly didn't want to have anything to do with Janelle.
Finally, he gave a kitty yawn and laid down. Then the cat curled into a ball. Janlle wondered if he was sleeping or just tuning everything out. There was nothing left for her to do but write her notes.

Cat #4-White with black ears and a brown mask around his eyes. He seemed bored curled into a ball. This means the weather is calm, but watch out because a change is coming sometime in the future.

Okay so this whole cat watching thing was actually pretty hard. Why couldn't it be cruppies? At least then they'd be really cute. Cats were just. Eh. They were eh. And also, what if a cat really just had to scratch it's ear or something... What if it had nothing to do with weird weather and it was just really itchy y'know? How come everything had to be interpreted AND WAIT, he was missing out on precious time.
Maybe after they did all the cat interpretations he could just... Just leave? So YEAH doing that now. Ahem. The Gryffindor-- too lazy to be bothered to stand up from his table-- decided to scout out the room for another cat. That didn't involve any movement whatsoever so he was happy. AND OH, was that one... curled up into a ball? The textbook did say something about that.

Benny was trying to get the cat to stop following him. It had already given him the message or whatever it was it had been trying to do. Now he was just walking away and didn't need help from the feline persuasion. "Go..." the Gryffindor said to the cat as he turned around again in hopes he'd get the message THIS time. Eventually he did and he could in turn focus on another cat to try and read.
There was this mostly white cat that seemed like it was interested. Well Ben was reading it that way. He tentatively raised his hand near the feline as he moved closer. "Nice kitty." In response the cat got up and watching his hand proceeded to circle around like it was chasing itself.
Once...twice...three times.
He looked down at his textbook to see the possibilities of what that sort of action could possibly know. Plenty of options still existed seeing as the list was long enough. Benny traced the list down until he found a match, finally finding it. And finding he had made a mistake earlier on.
"Woops..."
He had read swatting the air as new friend when it was really meaning he was going to get some good news. New friend was actually turning around. Turning around like the mostly white cat had just done in front of him. Looked like he was going to have to edit his notes to be correct. No good would come if he left it wrong.

Right. Next cat. One that wasn't too far away from the first cat. And one that, like the first cat, had been staring at him. Jeez, did he really have something on his face or what? Because this was getting kinda ridiculous. Juuuuuust saying.
So this new cat? It was one of those weird Siamese twins ones, wasn't it? He almost expected a twin of this cat to pop up out of nowhere just because. When none did, he shrugged and turned his attention back to the cat he was meant to be observing.........
........... which started grooming its left ear with its paw. Which, according to the book, meant that a LADY was gonna come and visit. SMIRK. He was totally down for tha--
.................... And then it stood still. But that wasn't what wiped the smirk off of the Slytherin's face. It was the jump afterwards that did it. And a jump meant that the lady was gonna be an intruder?
WELL then.
Text Cut: Notes
Cat #1: This cat was an Abyssinian cat that was first rubbing up against my leg which suggests that it likes me, of course. Then it went on to swat at the air which means that I'm going to get some good news. That is something I can definitely go along with.
Cat #2: A tabby cat that was curled up in a ball and washing its ear. The curling up in a ball suggests that everything will be calm for the moment but to be alert. Put this together with the next action, washing of the ear, and the cat is trying to say that there will be some rain to come, which is something to be alert about.
Cat #3: A greyish cat (Siberian probably) that was washing its paw. Because it washed its paw more than three times, that means that I've upset someone. Kinda confusing since there are probably a lot of people I've upset before so it could be talking about anyone, really.
Cat #4: A Siamese cat that was grooming its left ear and then stopped and then went on to jump in the air. This means that I'm going to get a visit from a woman and this woman is going to be an intruder. Freaking rude.

Kate finished her notes on the third cat, all the while looking over her shoulder for the supposed intruder that had been predicted to show up. She was almost wanting to consider warning the professor, but the she decided to just wait and see if anyone else had gotten that same sign, as well. If two or more had, she'd consider it official.
She still wanted to observe at least one more cat, and then she needed to take some notes on their possible connections. She turned and walked in the direction she had yet to look in. There was bound to be something new predicted over this way. Kate stopped when she'd walked where she wanted to go then looked around. There was another calico cat over here who was washing its paws. That had to mean something, right? Kate peered at her textbook again and read where cats washing their paws three times predict a visitor coming from the direction the cat is looking.
The cat put down its paws. Okay, that was washing number one. Kate waited then the cat began washing its paws again. Her blue eyes flickered in the direction the cat was facing. This would be the direction the visitor was coming from if the cat washed its paws a third time. Finally, the cat did just that.
Then a thought occurred to Kate. This was the direction the intruder was coming from! O_O.
Cat #1
The first cat I observed is an adult-sized calico cat (with a pretty tail, even though that doesn't matter right now). The cat is sleeping but is stretched out across the floor at the same time. It's lying on its belly with its two front feet stretched far out in front of it and its two back feet stretched out far behind it. Even its tail is stretched flat across the floor. That must be some good sleep! I absolutely LOVE this cat, because it's predicting that there will be good days ahead with lots of sun.
Cat #2
The next cat I observed is a small, orange cat. It's sleeping just like the first cat I observed, but this cat is in a different position. This cat is on its side with its paw over its face. I do see two similarities between this cat and the first cat. This cat's back legs are stretched far out. Maybe that's a connection between the two cats! Looking at the textbook, I see where this position means a snow storm is coming. Huh. I'm not too sure about that based on my first observation, but a prediction is a prediction, I guess.
Cat #3
Cat number three was a scary little thing, I'll tell you that! Let me explain. He or she is a beautiful white cat. It reminded me of a field of snow during the coldest part of winter. I just wanted to take it home with me...until it nearly scared me to death! It was staring at me, and I was staring at it, and just when I least expecting it to, IT JUMPED! My heart started beating a million times a minutes, and then the cat just meowed then ran away. Looking at my notes, that means... ... ... ... Uhhh...an intruder is coming. O_O.

Hmm. How do I say this? I think we have an INTRUDER coming from the Forbidden Forest! This is a connection I made between the third and fourth cats. The fourth cat I saw was another calico, and as I watched it, it washed its paws three times. According to the textbook, this means that a visitor is coming from the direction the cat is looking in. The third cat I observed predicted an intruder, and now this cat predicts a visitor. Of course, there could be no connections at all, but it's enough to make me nervous. The cat was facing in the general direction of the Forbidden Forest, so I think that might be where the visitor will come from!
She finished up on writing in her notebook before looking around for another cat. She stretched her arms before walking around to find another cat but she felt someone following her. She wasn't sure if it was a cat or a person. If it was a person then that would be fine because there were a room full of people here so they were probably just looking for a cat to observe.
Swiftly turning around on her heel she looked around and there was no one behind her. She turned back around looking for a cat but then her a soft meow, then not long after that she had heard a louder meow. Emmylou turned back around her looked towards the ground, there was a larger white, black and brown cat sitting and looking up at her with his or her green eyes. Emmylou blinked at the cat for a moment or two before looking into her textbook and seeing what that could mean. The blonde took a few steps back to see if the cat would follow her and it did.

She beamed because she was getting closer and closer to being done. It was exciting!

Just to go over what she had "learned" about herself so far was that she would be getting a visitor, a new friend, and that everything was "calm" for her. The only thing she believed to be true was the friend part because who wouldn't want to be friends with her? That was obtainable. If she was in a better mood perhaps her feelings would be different.
Another kitty was calling her name, and AJ studied it for a bit. This one wasn't as cute as the all white one, but cute in it's own way. Not that the assignment was choosing a cute kitty so she really needed to quit being distracted.
It's all you, kitty. This one was all stretched out and enjoying himself. Must be nice, she thought to herself. This meant that good days with lots of sun were ahead. Well, AJ would take that. Oh, she really hope this kitty reading stuff would come true.
She was almost there. Just one more cat to go and she would be done. Emmylou walked around for another cat while she was finishing up her notes on the third cat and editing her notes for the second cat. The fifth year held her notebook and looked around to find a black and white cat. That was good that it wasn't an all black cat. Weren't all black cats bad or well Professor Morgan did say today that not all of black cats gave bad luck to people.
She felt the cats green eyes staring at her, it was standing. The stare that Emmylou felt from the cat was like she should be here right now then out of nowhere the cat just jumped! "OH MY GOODNESS!" Emmylou felt her heart race and pretty much jumped ten feet in the air, she heard her textbook fall to the ground with a loud THUD! The blonde blinked at the cat. The cat jumping out of nowhere scared the daylights out of her.

AJ couldn't help but wonder if picking the cats mattered. Like, if she saw one curled in a ball and immediately went to that one was that like picking your readings? Maybe she should have paid more attention in class. Heh.
The lion was on the search for a new kitty. She had that being watched feeling and decided to brush it off. There were lots of cats here and surely one was watching her.
As she continued on, that same feeling was back. AJ turned her head and noticed that a white cat with black ears was on her tail. Um, okay. She walked some more. All the while creepy cat was being creepy.
OH! That meant something. AJ looked up her last reading for the class. This said that she would be receiving money. Score. Who wouldn't want that? Now she was all done. The third year walked back to her desk and put all of her readings together. Could she have a cupcake now?
SPOILER!!: Parchment
Cat # 1 – The orange cat was sleeping curled up in a ball. This means that everything is calm (it isn’t) and that she should be on alert for things in the future. (been on alert)(doesn’t believe this cat)
Cat # 2 – A tabby cat was observed next. This one moved around in a circle three times. This meant that AJ could be expecting to get a new friend. (This is likely) (Plus this cat wasn’t sketchy) (totally trust this one)
Cat # 3 – Dirty cat was licking himself. The cat is black and white spotted (if that matters?)(maybe should ask that?) This one licked its paws three times and that meant she would be expecting a visitor from Adi someone. {pretty vague, there were lots of “someone’s” over there)
Cat # 4 – A black cat was stretched out, all chill like. This is supposed to meant that good days and sun was in her future. (really hopes this is true) (not sure about the weather though) (maybe cat is having an off day?)
Cat # 5 – Creepy white cat with black ears was stalking me. (turns out this is okay) I will be getting some money. (How much though?)

Janelle finished her cat observations. Now she had to make sense of her notes. Looking at her parchment, she tried to see if there was a connection between the meanings of her cat behaviors. She really had to think about it because the answers were not obvious, not to her anyway. When Janelle finally had an idea, she began to write.
SPOILER!!: Janelle's notes
Cat #1-The cat is orange with stripes. He looks like a mini tiger, but without the black stripes. The cat is giving himself a bath. He is licking his paw, definitely more than three times (a lot more). That means someone is upset with me.
Cat #2- Black cat with lots of energy. He turned around in a circle three times, before settling into a comfortable position. This means that I will gain a new friend. Yay!
Cat #3-The CUTEST cat ever-grey with black stripes and green eyes. He swatted at the air (I think) and that means I will get good news soon.

Cat #4-White with black ears and a brown mask around his eyes. He seemed bored curled into a ball. This means the weather is calm, but watch out because a change is coming sometime in the future.
Interpretation:
I think some of my messages could be related. One cat said that I would be getting good news soon. Maybe the good news is that I will I will gain a friend, like the other cat said. The weather prediction almost sounds like it could be a life prediction too. Things in my life may be calm now, but something may be coming in the future. I'm not sure about someone being upset with me. I have no idea what that could be about. I can't connect it with the others.
At last, Janelle finished writing. She put down her quill and took a deep breath. Could they play with the cats now?

Once he found the plates of them, he balanced one on each hand and started moving about the room. "Cupcake?" he asked everyone, one by one, "Cupcake?... The Professor has cupcakes."

Walking around she was just so excited now! like how often did you get to observe kitties and "figure out" if they are trying to tell you something. Good thing for Echo there were another two cats near each other so she could watch them both at the same time. One was orange and washing it self and the other was like a tabby and it was turning in circles.

Feeling much better about herself, and much more confident in her abilities, Amur let out a small breath. She grinned at her helpful cat, gave it a scratch behind the ears and looked around the room for another.
Her eyes caught on a marble colored cat nearby one of the windows. It seemed preturbed, looking down at the sill with crooked ears. It's tail swished back and forth around it's body, mirroring its less than pleased demeanour. As Amur watched, it picked itself up and turned about one, half-sitting on the sill before getting up again and turning in the opposite direction and sitting down a little bit more. It paused and for a third time stood up, turned about and finally lay down against the window pane. The position hardly looked comfortable and worth all the trouble.
Amur thought as she watched her orange friend tried to grab her quill. Her thoughts quickly turned into scribbles on her note page.

Orange Cat (aka Blank Stare): This fellow's been watching me very strangely since the assignment started. Just staaaring at me. Almost as if he's the one reading me, rather than the other way around. Just when I started to write, he swatted the air. I think he was going for my quill, but he's still doing it and well, his aim is really off. That, or he's trying to tell me something. According to page 98 of my Divination Textbook, such an action means that good news is coming my way. Perhaps the reason he was staring so hard was because he was trying to discern what news it would be? Whether it would be good or bad? Maybe he was trying to tell if I could do this type of reading, and he decided that yes, I can. Maybe that is the good news. After all, here is one reading.
(Note to self: ask Professor Morgan what the sign for bad news is. That seems like one I should get to know and keep an eye out for.)
Marble Cat (aka Indecisive): This one just couldn't seem to make it's mind up in regards to how it wanted to lie down. It half-sat before getting up and turning about, only to half-sit again and then got up again, turned in the opposite direction and half-sat. It repeated this three times before picking what looks to be a rather uncomfortable position at the window sill. According to page 98 of my Divination Textbook, such an action means that I am likely to gain a new friend soon. But the book is unspecific as to whether the turns must all be in the same direction, or if they can be in opposite directions. Perhaps with the back-and-forth of the three times, it means that the friend I am going to gain may not appear as a friend in the beginning? Or maybe that it'll take time and effort and won't be an easy friendship to make?
Seems to tie into Mr. Blank Stare's future predictions that something good will happen. New friends are always good things.
(Note to self: clarify if turns must be all in one direction, or can be in multiple directions)

Having observed the four cats she'd hoped to observe, Kate headed back to her original seat. She straightened out her parchment and posed her quill in place, only silently tapping it as she collected her thoughts. Once she had an idea in mind, she began to write.
Cat #1
The first cat I observed is an adult-sized calico cat (with a pretty tail, even though that doesn't matter right now). The cat is sleeping but is stretched out across the floor at the same time. It's lying on its belly with its two front feet stretched far out in front of it and its two back feet stretched out far behind it. Even its tail is stretched flat across the floor. That must be some good sleep! I absolutely LOVE this cat, because it's predicting that there will be good days ahead with lots of sun.
Cat #2
The next cat I observed is a small, orange cat. It's sleeping just like the first cat I observed, but this cat is in a different position. This cat is on its side with its paw over its face. I do see two similarities between this cat and the first cat. This cat's back legs are stretched far out. Maybe that's a connection between the two cats! Looking at the textbook, I see where this position means a snow storm is coming. Huh. I'm not too sure about that based on my first observation, but a prediction is a prediction, I guess.
Cat #3
Cat number three was a scary little thing, I'll tell you that! Let me explain. He or she is a beautiful white cat. It reminded me of a field of snow during the coldest part of winter. I just wanted to take it home with me...until it nearly scared me to death! It was staring at me, and I was staring at it, and just when I least expecting it to, IT JUMPED! My heart started beating a million times a minutes, and then the cat just meowed then ran away. Looking at my notes, that means... ... ... ... Uhhh...an intruder is coming. O_O.
Cat #4
Hmm. How do I say this? I think we have an INTRUDER coming from the Forbidden Forest! This is a connection I made between the third and fourth cats. The fourth cat I saw was another calico, and as I watched it, it washed its paws three times. According to the textbook, this means that a visitor is coming from the direction the cat is looking in. The third cat I observed predicted an intruder, and now this cat predicts a visitor. Of course, there could be no connections at all, but it's enough to make me nervous. The cat was facing in the general direction of the Forbidden Forest, so I think that might be where the visitor will come from!
Thoughts:
So I have good news to begin with! We have a promise of sunny days ahead, all thanks to an awesome calico cat who was stretched across the floor having a nice little nap. I'm sorry to say, though, but the days of warm sunlight will be followed by a snowstorm, as predicted by a wintery white cat. The second prediction was followed by a promise of an intruder, and get this--at first I thought we might be in danger, but now I think that the storm might be the so-called intruder! This would make sense, because who wants to be snowed in all thanks to a storm? Finally, I have reason to believe the snow storm might be blowing in from the direction of the Forbidden Forest, thanks to a second calico cat facing in that direction while washing its paws.
Looks like a wild time ahead!

It amazed him that HE still hadn't had a cupcake, and yet, he was just giving them out willynilly..
That would have to change.
Hearing someone calling him over, Zeke turned his head slightly to see Kate. Grinning, Zeke stepped over a cat or two on his way over and lowered a plate to her. She could have at them... but what?

"Is it your birthday, Professor?" he asked, looking in her direction too. Huh. Go figure. He'd have never worked that out for himself.
He really wanted a cupcake, but his hands were full... so when Kate offered to take one, he was only too happy to share the burden. "Sure you can, here," he replied, waiting for her to take it, which would mean he'd have a hand free for eating. Woot.
In theory, Hugh knew he was supposed to be following other cats. BUT THIS ONE KEPT CHASING HIM. Yo, buzz off feline. Seriously. IT was cramping his style. And he did not take kindly to that.
Mostly because it was hard enough having style to begin with when you were W. Hughbert.
He continued to out run the cat. Ducking between peers and running around the room in an attempt to get Mr. Cat-stupid-face to leave him alone. YOOOOO. Seriously.
He wasn't joking.
Fo' real.
GO away.
AHHHH.
He noticed a few other cats as he ran. Some licking themselves, others fighting with one another. Not much beyond that though. He had tunnel vision for this cat and mouse (Hugh) chase.
