Charms 2 & Transfiguration 2 - Bigger is Better

___________________________http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1766b108.jpg
Upon entering the Charms Classroom, you find the desks neatly arranged as they usually are at the start of a lesson with rows evenly spaced and providing access should the Professor be forced to walk around.

Due to the rare presence of a brilliant morning sunshine at this time of year, the windows have been thrown open letting in the bright light and crisp winter morning air though it doesn't get too far thanks to the heating charms in place. There isn't much to be seen at the moment with the chalkboard blank and the Professor's desk looking organized...except maybe the cages placed on each student's desk.

The bars aren't very thick or secure looking, leaving one to only hope this lesson won't get anyone killed.

To the front of the room, the Professor stands leaned against his desk waiting for the students' arrival with his head buried in a book; an obvious tactic to ignore the other Professor in the room, you know, the one that couldn't keep her mouth shut about his Transfiguration Dilemma.
Be sure you read the rules before posting in this lesson. We'll be officially starting in maybe 10-12 hrs?

And the rules here because Professor Bellaire will eat you.

Cilla entered the classroom with butterflies in her stomach. She saw Professor Quigley with his head buried in his book. She had remembered to bring a nice shiny green apple for him. Cilla's eyes then spotted Professor Bellaire. This was going to be an interesting lesson.

"Hello, Professor Quigley," Cilla greeted the Charms professor as she handed him the apple. She then turned to Professor Bellaire and said, "Hello, Professor Bellaire."

Cilla then walked to a desk but remained standing up. After all, if this was Transfiguration class she'd have to wait until given permission to sit down. However, she was in a combined Charms/Transfiguration class so Cilla was standing there looking rather unsure.

Although the Gryffindor tried not to show it, he was a bit nervous about this joint lesson and he had the feeling this would be some kind of test for him. He had been thinking as he walked to the charms classroom and upon entering he and looking around, he noticed that he was the second person here.

That never happened before . He looked from Quigley reading a book to Bellaire and debated walking out of the class and come back when there were more students. Then again, it could be seen as fear and this Gryffindor was not scared. Just a little…intimidated. So gathering his courage, the Gryffindor walked further in to the room. “Good…” he bit his lower lip because being polite was weird for him but he also didn’t want to spend another evening locked up in the criminal cell. Especially not if those two would be the ones locking him up. He could handle Botros being there but Bellaire? No. “Morning…”

Ugh he wanted to leave!

CHARMS CLASSSSS!

Zeke was excited, and he'd already learned SO MUCH from this new charms Professor, SO MUCH. It actually left him wondering what they might be studying this lesson, and really, it was anyone's guess. Entering through the door, Zeke pulled a shiny red apple out of his bag and placed it on the Professor's super organised desk before looking up to find not one.... but TWO Professor's.

.... This wasn't going to be weird at all.

"Good morning Professor Bellaire," he greeted first, simply because he hadn't brought HER an apple. And then turning slightly he offered Professor Quigley a greeting too. "Good morning to you too, Professor Quigley," he beamed.

And...

Now he was confused.

Was he supposed to follow Quigley's rules? Or Bellaire's? Or BOTH?! ...

Sitting was preferable, but standing was necessary for survival with Bellaire. Just WHAT to do? They were technically speaking in the CHARMS classroom, so, Charms rules applied most, no?

Either way, Zeke pulled his chair out a bit, but hovered, uncertain of what to do.

"Professor Quigley?" he started... "May I sit and unpack?" He'd need his schooly things out, no? And that was best done when one wasn't having to bend down over a desk.

Sararara 02-06-2015 03:32 PM

Norah smiled at the two Professors as she entered the classroom, squinting slightly because WOAH light. "Hello, Professor." Small smile. "Hello, Professor." She didn't say any names because what if one of them got jealous that she said the other one first? Grownups were weird.

She walked over to a desk in the front row and looked around at the other students, who looked just as confused as she surely did. Did she sit? Did she stand? How do you pick which rules to follow? She fidgeted with her bag and looked at Professor Bellaire, waiting for some kind of instruction. Oh, and you too, cat man. Instruction from you would work too.

Kolyander 02-06-2015 03:36 PM

A combined lesson was a bit uh...usual? Hady hadn't heard of this before so forgive her for slowly making her way into the room and looking around. Were they supposed to take their seats or wait? Unsure of what to do she remained off the to side near some of the students that already arrived...namely Zeke. Yup Zeke cause she knew him.

After a moments brief hesitation and sheer confusion the small snakette waved in greeting to the Professors. "Good morning Professors..." Was that alright? Should she had greeted them individually or didn't it matter really? Shuffling about slightly she chewed her bottom lip out of habit.

What would they be doing today? Did it have to do with the cages set out on the desks? Her eyes kept moving from the Professors to the cages curiously.

FearlessLeader19 02-06-2015 03:37 PM

"Hello, Professors,'' Adi said happily as he entered the classroom. Quigley and Bellaire. What an interesting lesson this may turn out to be. Adi was quite ready for that! Hehe. The boy flattened his hair a bit since he figured both of the Professors rules would be applicable in this classroom and Bellaire was all about neatness.

Oh yeah. He did remember to bring an apple this time for Quigley. A nice, shiny yellow one which he placed on the man's desk before going to get himself a seat. Er... he should remain standing, yes? He did so just in case. Or at least until Zeke's question was answered which he had heard just as he had walked into the room.

A joint lesson????? WHAT???? Margo was not exactly sure how she was going to like doing this. Ugh, trying to please two professor at once?

But from her previous experience in transfiguration meant she would NOT sit until told to. Margo hoped her eyebrows were still blue and purple, they had started fading, but still were different colors. "Professors." Margo smiled and nodded in their direction. " Oh and Professor Quigley, I brought you something Margo said pulling an apple out of her bag for him. She then went to stand next to her seat.

Holmesian Feline 02-06-2015 04:33 PM

A joint Transfiguration and Charms lesson.

This could go either two ways and Benny was hoping for the former. That the lesson would be more useful and interesting given the two professors working together on their subject matters. Though it could also go the latter which was it was more interesting since they were working together and at least Bellaire wasn't a fan of Quigley from her words in her last class. The Gryffindor wasn't sure of the vice versa.

Whatever was to develop, one had to be prepared. And so Benny approached the charms classroom with apple in hand for Quigley and all neat after he had checked himself in favor of Bellaire's preferences. Best to follow both even though it was the charms professor's room.

Stepping inside, he found the usual desks with cages placed upon him. He walked past them to approach the desk and the two adults. "Good day, Professor Quigley," he said first, placing the apple on the desk with the others. "Good day Professor Bellaire," he added with a polite nod to the woman. Seeing them both it was confirmed. They BOTH didn't like each other. Benny pondered the reason why then they were working together as he made his way silently to a seat near Adi offering him a quiet look of acknowledgement.

One class Dante was interested in and one he was somewhat. Though he should tell Bellaire he finally made a fedora magically. But that can wait. But still this was totally interesting. Professor Q and Professor Bellaire. Not the two people Dante would have ever thought would share a lesson together especially since Bellaire told the class about Professor Q's thing. It was something to think about in the class and see the way they address each other and if it will be all adult like.

"Hello Professor Belliare and Hi Professor Q"

He looked totally absorbed in that book. Must be about how to have the most awesome naps.

Who knows.

DanialRadFAN01 02-06-2015 05:10 PM

Joint lessons we're always really interesting and exciting especially when you threw in the always unagreeable Professor Bellaire into the mix. Needless to say Ezra was happy zooming into the Charms classroom that morning.

"Good morning Professor Quigley, is that a good book?" Must be because he wasn't chatting with Bellaire, which is what the third year would have done if he was teaching a class with a colleague of friend. "And hello Professor Bellaire, ma'am." After passing the teacher desk, Ezra tried to locate a good seat for the action.

Oh look Zeke was already here! Ezra decided that the second year would be good fun to sit by in class and continued to zoom until he ended up at the desk beside him. "What up Zeke? Should I stand too or sit so we have all of our bases covered?" He asked grinning with his butt hovering over his seat as if about to sit.

But also lookit! CAGES.

Bianca was quiet surprised that Bellaire and Quigley decided to have a joint lesson. Well, transfiguration and charms were related but this two professors? Maybe the evil Bellaire wanted to humiliated Quigley in front of the student, after she told them that the new hot Charms professor was a 'failed' animagus. Hope that there's no student would bribe Quigley with an apple and he would eat them in front of the class.... Well, Bellaire would be there too, he wouldn't dare to eat the apple. Funny that this two Professors teaching in a same room. Let's see...

Speaking of Bellaire, the brunette girl still had her elf's ears covered by her hooded school robes. Her uniform was perfectly neat, her shoes were polished and her hair was on her perfect braid. Entering the classroom, her brown eyes noticed the two Professors were already there. "Good morning, Professors." She nodded and took a desk on the back row.

Now she was confused.

Bellaire never let the students sat before the lesson started while Quigley... He didn't mind about that. So, maybe it would be better if she... stood up. Yeah. Well, since this lesson was held on Charms classroom that meant that the rules that they should follow were... Quigley's right? He's the host.

Daydreamer11 02-06-2015 05:40 PM

Charms and Transfiguration. This class was going to be a challenge. Janelle had a hard enough time just dealing with one of the classes. To have to tackle both at the same time was.......well, she'd just have to see.

Janelle entered the classroom and greeted the Professors. "Good Morning Professor Quigley, Professor Bellaire." Then she found an empty desk and deposited her bag. Janelle paused for a moment, unsure whether to sit or stand. From the looks of things, she wasnt the only one. Just to be safe, she stood by her chair and waited. Noticing the cage on her desk, Janelle wondered what the Professors had in store for them.

WhittyBitty 02-06-2015 05:49 PM

When Lux saw on the noticeboard that Professors Quigley and Bellaire were going to have a joint lesson, she had been shocked. Didn't they dislike each other or something? The feelings were definitely there on Bellaire's side; that much was known after the first transfiguration lesson.

Apple in hand, she entered the Charms classroom. "Good morning, Professors." Placing the apple on the Quigley's desk, she made her way over to her seat - waving to her friends as she walked by them - and stood beside it. Was she supposed to stand? Or sit? Confused, she was relieved when Zeke asked about it.

And what was that cage for?

Tazenhani 02-06-2015 05:53 PM

Two Professors in one room? Amur stood in the doorway of the classroom, blinking at the two teachers and the students that filed in. Did this mean that there would be double the amount of teaching, learning and practicing? The very idea sounded intensive. The very sight of both Professors looked intensive.

Amur took in a shaky breath, steeled herself and plodded forward. One foot in front of the other. Stiff legs all the way to the ... closest seat that was the farthest seat from the front of the room. She didn't want to be front-and-center if she messed up. Especially not in front of two Professors.

She managed a "Good Morning, Professors" before she squeaked off the main pathway to the front of the room and between the desks, to one buried in the back corner. Reaching the station, she settled her bag at the foot of the chair legs and straightened, glancing at the other students. Everyone looked confused. Some were halfway between sitting and standing.

Amur glanced forward to the Professors and decided to play it safe. Standing behind her chair, she rested her elbows on the back and leaned forward, examining the cage in front of her.

What was going to happen here?

the fastest seeker 02-06-2015 06:24 PM

A joint lesson. Dante liked the thought of that. It saved up time and effort. Hopefully the two professors weren't going to double the required effort. That wouldn't be cool at all. The two professors' cool status depended on this lesson, did they know what was at stake here?

The Slytherin slipped inside the classroom and didn't bother looking at people's faces really. Something you find useless when you haven't made many friends.

But before he chose a desk, he passed the two adults and nodded at them. 'Sup.

And then to the desk at the very end of the classroom. Nice view he had there. Wooow, what were these cages, though? The sixth-year eyed them trying to figure out what exactly they were gonna do with them. He did have some ideas. Hmm. Interesting.

ArianaBlack 02-06-2015 06:52 PM

When he had read the notice on the board, he had hoped that it was all just a big mistake. Charms AND Transfiguration... TOGETHER? Like at once?? Uh. That meant Quigley AND Bellaire... TOGETHER??? Like... AT ONCE?? Okay. There were a lot of classes that made Zander Adair question his choices in life... And this one was probably at the top of his list. Why he even decided to show up?... It was beyond him.

Upon walking into the room, he immediately noticed the fact that both Professors were not talking to each other. Uh. Could everyone else feel the tension in the room? Or was it just him? 'Cause there was definitely something weird about this room. Definitely.

He made sure to make direct eye contact with Bellaire as he said a quick, "Hello, Professor," but decided not to say anything to Mr. Q as he looked fully immersed in that book or whatever. Plus, Zander was still kind of bitter about the fact that he used FELSH EATING slugs on Kevin. Gah. Goober.

Anyways, as he made his way to his desk he slung his bag on the ground and sat down in the seat-- WAIT were they still supposed to stand? Standing. Getting up and standing. Buuuuut... This was in the Charms classroom though... And... Maybe that meant only Q's rules applied?? Sitting. He was sitting now. No wait. He couldn't risk it. Standing. But what if... Uh... After a couple more minutes of the confusing standing/sitting/standing/sittingagain charade, the Gryffindor decided to just eventually stand.

Standing.

Locking it in. Final answer.

Expecto-Penguin 02-06-2015 07:06 PM

Kace heard that the lesson was joined together. So Bellarie and Quigly were teaming up with the lesson. Now this should be interesting. As he walked into the classroom right on time, he noticed other students beat him here. Well I mean this puff was hungry and food came first. He needed his energy because who knows what they were going to learn today. As he walked across the front of the classroom he noticed Professor Quigly was buried in a book. Hmm....was it to avoid Bellaire? I mean she can be quite intimidating. He didn't blame Quigly for doing that tactic.

He nodded and greeted them both and said, "Good morning Professor Bellaire and Quigly." See he went ladies first? Being polite as always. He then went to go find his seat and he didn't' see Emmy or Cinna here yet. He sat down near the window so he could have a view of the grounds.

Felixir 02-06-2015 07:07 PM

Swinging his schoolbag along side him, occasionally letting it scuff along the floor as he went, Toby entered the Charms classroom for this lesson. He'd not forgotten that it was a joint affair, and that Bellaire likely had her own rules in play, including the one about being all neat and tidy and well-groomed. And... well... he had given it his best effort, though he'd been crazy levels of exhausted today.

"Morning Professor Bellaire, Professor Quigley." He had an apple, too. Another green one which he placed on Quigley's desk before going to find somewhere to sit.

The sixth year didn't take his regular seat today, opting for a desk still by a window but as far back in the room as he could get. He stowed the back beneath the chair and then stood behind it and waited.

And... prodded the cage on the desk a couple of times, because he had fidgety hands that couldn't resist checking out new things. Toby was curious.

Lissy Longbottom 02-06-2015 07:24 PM

Goodness, you could cut the tension with a knife in this room! Caleb knew that Bellaire had a very strong personality...and from the lessons he'd had with Quigley, he figured he had the kind of personality that would clash with that. It was obvious the professor was reading (or pretending to) to avoid talking to Bellaire...and Caleb didn't blame him. He interacted with her as little as possible, too.

"Hello Professor Bellaire. Professor Quigley," he said with a smile, nodding at them in greeting as he took his seat. Now to figure out what the heck these cages were all about...

DaniDiNardo 02-06-2015 07:53 PM

Because he's curious XD

Ah and there was the first student now. In truth Maddox heard the padding of feet down the corridor before the girl's entrance but he didn't remove his gaze from the book until her greeting and ---OOooOOoooo! An apple! The Charms Professor grinned, nicking the apple from the young Slytherin's hand.

"Thank you Miss Ashcroft, an excellent looking treat." And good thing too, the man was feeling a little peckish.

It was the strangest thing however....the girl was...just...standing there....."Er...is something wrong?"....Had he missed something?

No really, Kevin might need to speak to the Healer about that. Courtesies weren't meant to be given under duress--although some unfortunately did need the push. It would get easier. Soon he'd be able to say 'Good Morning' without wanting to rip his tongue out after. It was all a process you see. "Good morning, Mister Hirase."

Pause.

Then that question. "Well...that depends." Why were they being so weird about it? He wasn't charging them to sit. It was FREE. Quite curious that the Hufflepuff Prefect decided he would remain standing too. It was something to look into. Maybe they were all sick. Maybe they were all contagious. Coming down with a deathly ridiculous disease wasn't at the top of his list of things to do when he headed to class this morning.

Confused, she was relieved when Zeke asked about it.

Apple! Apple! Apple!

For a moment Maddox forgot the odd children who'd all opted to stand because hello another apple to add to the pile on his table but then even she was standing. "Thank you...Miss Carrington...why are you standing like that...?"

Don't mind him, he had questions he needed answers.

See now look at that, they got another First Year standing for no reason. What was up with everyone today and why didn't he get this memo, whatever this memo was? You think they'd keep him informed considering this was his class and all but apparently not? "Good morning Miss Neverwinter."

STARE.

A curious sort of stare really, because Maddox was almost fascinated with this trend of entering and standing...if not somewhat unsettled. "The seats don't bite...much. Sit." Or did she NOT want to? Children were weird.

Now THIS was a kid he could understand. Comes in, nods then SITS. They could all take a page from Mister Malloy's book because he was doing Charm's class right.

Maddox approved and the nod he got in response said as much. Don't follow the crowd of standers. Merlin knew what their problem was.

Final answer.

...

.....

Did...did the Gryffindor Prefect just walk in....and greet Bellaire but not HIM in his OWN classroom? No, of course not. Perhaps he'd greeted him so softly that even his sensitive hearing failed to pick it up. It was either that or the boy was being disrespectful and he'd take points. Benefit of the doubt, Maddox.

His brow rose even further into his forehead at the boy's little display. Was he sitting or standing?

He wouldn't ask, he was much too busy giving the boy unimpressed looks. Clearly the EC did little for this one.

This...was almost as insulting but hardly as insulting as Mister Adair had been. His class but he's greeted second. Were he a little less mature he'd have made a fuss but that was something better left to Airey so Maddox simply nodded toward the Hufflepuff. "Good Morning Mister Lecium."

Least he sat, not like the other creeperdoodles who decided to remain standing. Weirdos the whole lot of them.

His attention was drawn from Kace when Mister Tempus entered WITH A GREEN APPLE. It was nice to see some of them remember. It wasn't a rule per say but they did make him awfully happy. He would let himself think some of them cared whether he was happy or not so there was grinning at the apple. "Thank you Mister Tempus!"

Such a brilliant looking apple. He might eat this one first...or the yellow one. He still hadn't decided yet.

But...he was standing too...."Does this mean you don't want to sit...either?" And a glance around at the others.

"Hello Mister Newell. Glad to see you making use of your seat unlike the vast majority of your classmates..." He eyed them all, somewhat freaked. The standing in silence thing was WEIRD, simply put and he wasn't sure what to make of it just yet.

Maddox looked over those that had arrived so far, deciding it couldn't hurt to...well...what the heck were they doing? "So. Anything new happening? New trends? Standing pledges? Anti-seat Campaigns? I'd have gone to the meetings but I seem to be grossly uninformed." As in...."What's with all the standing? The seats never complained before. Pop a squatch on the chairs, we'll be beginning shortly." Weeeeirdos.

Danielle quoted everyone yaay! hey guys hey! :)

Well this would be a very long lesson, but not for her, maybe for the new Charms professor. Did he know that this was also her turf? Heh. She threw a few glances in his direction whenever she checked her watch for the time. Poor man didn't have the gall to be in the room with her without pretending to be focused on something else...

Oh well...that was his problem.

She nodded at the students and presented each with a good morning as they addressed her.

"The same rule applies Mr. Rogers." She narrowed her eyes at Quingley then focused on the other students who were pouring in and seemed equally confused.

"The same rules apply to all, despite this being a joint lesson. It seems Mr. Quiggers still has a lot to learn about Hogwarts."

Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaade cat man...shaaaaaadeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

sarahlooo 02-06-2015 08:34 PM

Weeeeell, THIS was interesting. Something told Evie that the idea of a conjoined lesson was not Quigley's idea. Something told her, too, that they weren't exactly good at communicating with each other, because the so-called "failed animagus" was completely unaware of Bellaire's rule of not sitting before told to.

This class was going to be fun.

Evie stood behind her chair. Quigley didn't have chair rules, so Bellaire's rule overrided his lack of rules. It was Quigley's classroom, but Bellaire had a sort of presence about her that kind of made her seem like she was the boss in any room unless someone of higher authority (the Headmistress) was there. So she was standing.

Amur was confused. Confused that the class was confused. Confused that the confused class was confusing the Professor. Confused all around. Up, down, forward and backward. Confusion for every one.

She had been told to read the rules of the Professors, both Professors, before coming to class. One set had said nothing about sitting rules, while the other was extremely explicit: Do. Not. Until. Invited. To.

Did Professor Quigely not know? Had he not read the rules?

She supposed not. After all, it was his classroom. Why would he have to read the rules. He made them.

And he was telling her to sit. On a seat that may bite.

Amur's eyes went as wide as they could go. Her bottom lip quibbled in a retained protest. It had been an order, not an invitation. It was much more rude to refuse an order than an invitation. She had to sit. Even if it meant her tootsie might get snipped.

Not liking the idea of that one bit, Amur grabbed her backpack and dropped it on the chair. She quickly hopped on top of the bag-on-the-chair. There. Padding. Protection. And look, she was sitting.

Except that she suddenly regretted that decision. Professor Bellaire seemed pretty intent on her rules being followed. So was she supposed to stand then until that Professor told her to sit? Was the Professor going to get her chair to eat her for doing so?

No. No that was the charm Professor's specialty, and he had told her to sit. Amur frowned at the two of them and abruptly put up her hand.

"Is this a test?"

Because it was starting to remind her of how her parents had been before they split up. Division of loyalty and everything. Totally reminded her of that, and she didn't know either one well enough to pick a side.

DuckyLinJi 02-06-2015 08:53 PM

What's wrong with the seat?

Kevin casted a glance towards Professor Bellaire and then looked back. "I'm wondering that myself, it's a dumb rule she made up" Yeah, remember that talk the early morning after detention? It wasn't like he immediately changed. However, he did realise that he had said that, call it habit, and Kevin turned away from Professor Quigley to look at the Transfiguration Professor. "It's my opinion" he said. "You're not taking away points right? since i didn't sit down and respected your rules" he tried not to grin.

Was she.....ooooooh burn! Kevin looked from professor to professor with joy in his eyes. This class was going to be very interesting. Maybe not the thing they were going to learn but just watching those two was going to be funny. "What she said, i didn't sit down because i listen to her rules because she has been here longer and you're a still a noob Professor" .......ugh......that did not sound like how he wanted it to be. "I didn't mean it like that.... i just... " he scratched the back of his head. Well, this was awkward...
