The classroom is set up neatly, with three rows of desks and chairs and two aisle allowing for ease when the Professor has to move around. It's not likely to happen given his inclination towards a more stationary position but there you have it.

The door stands wide open for everyone to pour in with a clock on the far wall directly opposite this door for those who would like to make a note of the time they got there. It's also for those who happen to be late. The Professor surely won't have to tell you if you can see it for yourself.

For the most part, nothing seems out of place. The board is empty and ready for any notes that you may need to take during the lesson and the windows have been opened wide creating a brighter effect in order to provide a gentler waker upper than the one the Professor could ever personally offer to those who still haven't quite left their beds in their own minds. The only thing missing would be the Professor himself. The man is nowhere to be seen, however there's a black cat curled up on a random desk, possibly lost to the world in sleep. Come on in. The Professor is around here somewhere.

The cat can be on anyone's desk, you can just claim it is at the top of your post if you so want. It's probably really friendly! Just be sure you read the rules before posting in this lesson. I'll be officially starting in maybe 10-12 hrs?

First class of the term arriving at the classroom she looked around and found some of her fellow classmates already arrived and she went to place and apple on the professor's desk noting there was already a lot there but placed a green granny smith on the desk and took a seat quite a bit away from the cat that was sitting on the desk on one of her fellow housemates and got out her parchment and her quill for serious note taking and she waited for the lesson to begin

Learning that the new Charms professor had a fondness for a certain fruit, Lux made sure to attend her first lesson of his with a nice and delicious looking red apple. This wasn't done in order to suck up, but because he was new and she wanted to give him something he could enjoy after his first lesson with them.

Entering the classroom, she was surprised to see that the Professor was nowhere to be seen. Huh. She'd just hold on to this apple until he arrived then. Waving to her friends, Lux made her way to the free desk beside Cinna. This was her first lesson without Bay being at Hogwarts and that thought was strange and sad. "Hey, Cinna!"

Honestly, Austin wasn't in the mood for class. He had a rough start to the term, and he was still mad at the Snake. But now was not the time for revenge. Now was the time for Charms. Walking in, Austin saw a few students, but instead found an empty desk in the back corner. He would have nodded at the professor, but there didn't seem to be one in sight. Instead, there was a cat on the front desk. He wasn't a huge fan of cats, he preferred owls. They were better pets, kept to themselves most of the time, and could fly and be free when they wanted. But Austin's owl was the best. She knew when Austin needed a friend, and was always around for him.

Placing his bag on the desk, and pulling out his wand, Austin sat in the chair. He twirled his wand between his hands, looking at the intricate detailing on it.

The appearance of a cat in the classroom wasn't exactly strange to Tobias, given the weirdness he'd seen in all the lessons throughout his Hogwarts career. It still had his attention though, and as the Hufflepuff took his usual seat close to the windows, he found that his gaze kept wandering over to the creature. He was... really fighting the urge to go ~~say hello~~ pet it, that was for sure. Animals were awesome.

Reluctantly directing his attention briefly from the cat and looking around the room, Toby found that many other kids had done what he'd ended up doing, and brought an apple along for the professor. Toby had just figured it was a nice thing to do, especially given the hint, so it was pretty great that the new teacher type person got this kind of welcome. The Hufflepuff sat there, jiggling his leg in that fidgety way of his and tossing the green apple from one hand to the other, before his attention inevitably went back to the cat.

Obviously with not very much dedication, since she chose to sit behind the cat at not next to it, like Evie had. Evie stared at the girl for a moment, deciding on her answer to the girl's question.

"No..." she answered carefully, and then turned back around. She could move herself, if she wanted to. But Evie didn't want to move.

Being so preoccupied with the cat, AJ didn't even take notice of anybody else that was present in the class. Like her boyfriend who was seated not too far from her. Maybe AJ should get herself a cat so he could accompany her to all her lessons. Now that sounded like a plan.

She was then talked to by another girl, who asked a better question than the first. Evie shook her head in response. "No. I don't know whose it is." But if nobody claimed it she would take it back to her dorm so Button could have a friend.

Kace made his way to the Charms classroom. Huh...it felt liberating to be going to his first lesson of the term. As he entered the room he noticed how bright it was in the room. He squinted his eyes to adjust to it. As he got his bearings and could see again he noticed the Professor was nowhere to be seen. Huh? Where could he be? Maybe he was on his coffee break? I mean what could Professors be doing before classes started. Anyways he noticed a little kitty sitting on his desk when he was nearing it. He chuckled and said, "Heyy kitty." he petted it. He smiled and began petting him.

He sat down still petting the cat. He got out his notebook and quill being prepared to take some notes and to look like he was paying attention. He got out his sketchbook in the mean time and doodled before the professor came in here.

Domino sat down at a desk as she silently waited for the professor. It didn't surprise her that a cat was in the room at all. In fact it was a common thing to expect Domino guessed. She couldn't find the professor anywhere. She shrugged and sat at her desk. Unfortunately her desk didn't have a cat...

Sophie Brown was on full alert.

Sure, she'd packed an apple in her bag out of caution. She didn't want to be an outright suck-up, but she also didn't want to be accused of not reading the man's rules, so she at least had the proof with her in her bag. But she ALSO thought maybe it was a test - hadn't the rules also said no food in the classroom? And by bringing an apple, she - and everyone who had brought one too, which seemed to be quite a few kids - was technically breaking rules. So, rather than outright flaunting the apple, she left it in her bag on the ground as she took a seat behind Tobes and got out her class materials.

Smart as could be, this one.

But she didn't want to be a suck-up. No, she wanted to see what this new professor guy was like, and she was willing to put up all her protective walls and scrutinize him thoroughly before making any conclusions about him. Though... it wasn't entirely fair that she was holding the poor man to the same standards that Fuller had set before him. No, she was practically dooming the poor Quigley guy - no one could live up to Fuller in her mind. Ever. No one.

Bleu walked quietly into the classroom. Professor Quigley was new this year and she was excited to learn from a professor with a fresh perspective.

She walked past Kace and Lux giving them waves and big smiles, and took her normal seat in the back. She wondered if Dylan would be coming soon. She hoped he would sit next to her but wasn't going to get upset if he didn't. She noticed a cat hanging around the classroom and wondered if it was the professors. It was a very pretty cat.

She quietly pulled out an apple from her bag for the Professor and placed it on the end of her desk. She read in the rules that he liked apples, so she made sure to bring one.

Despite everyone else's apparent, extreme fascination towards cats, Zander was surprisingly indifferent towards them. He really did LOVE creatures, it was his favorite next to Herbology, of course. BUT. He also bought a cruppy this summer and..... You can't be both a crup person AND a cat/kneazle person. That's against the rules. So obviously, the crups won. They always did.

Ahem. Right. Anyways. So when Zander walked into the classroom, he didn't act different upon noticing the cat sitting on top of the-- Actually... He didn't even notice that there was a cat sitting on top of the desk. Actually, actually Zander just walked right past that side of the classroom mostly paying attention the faces he saw, not what was sitting on top of desks. He was in the middle of a social dilemma here, people!!! MIDLIFE CRISIS, ACTUALLY!

Where to sit?!?!!? Okay so, he did see the KEVIN and a few other friendly faces as well... But it was also OWLs year. And he had to secure a position on the 'good-side', remember? 'Specially because he knew this was a new Professor ~~despite not knowing who the new Professor was supposed to be actually ahem~~!! AND WAIT, APPLES!! Merlin. How could he have forgotten the apples!!!!!! NoooooooooOOOOOOooooooooo!!

Man. So much for this good side thing. Now he really had no choice. To the front of the classroom, he went! ~~Hopefully he'd be able to fool the guy into thinking he actually really loved charms *aheeeeeem*.~~ Also. Apples. He'd have to deliver those personally, now right? Oops.

She glanced around the room, though. Was the professor here, yet? She didn't know. SHe didn't SEE him. Like, no new adult faces were IN here.

Hmph.

"Excited for the class?" she asked Archie cheerfully. She had been in such high spirits lately. Hmmph. Who was to blame for this?

First class, eh?

This better be interesting and memorable. Because if his first class in Hogwarts ever wasn't worth telling a decade later, then this life was going to be boring. So Dante had high expectations when he made his way to the charms classroom. Aside from the expectations he had in mind, the boy was actually curious to learn in groups. Home-schooling was dull and always the same experience even when the subject and professor changed. Something none of them, professors understood when Dante and his brother tried to lighten things up. Oh, well, never stopped the Malloys.

Walking in the school robes was not comfortable, he wondered if really had to wear them ALL the time. He was not sure he could deal with it for a long period of time.

And that was probably why it took time for him to get to the classroom. Was he late? Poking his head inside, he found out that he wasn't. Good he wanted to witness everything.

The slytherin slipped inside and made his way further in the room till he got to the last desk then sat down. This is a good view he decided. So, where was the man that was going to teach them stuff? Late? Way to set an example.

It was Charms time. Possible favorite subject.

Today Hugo was going to meet the new professor and expected his class was going to be fun. He always gave a score to each class, so he could know which has been better and that. Little nonsense things he liked to do.

Anyways, he entered the room and no professor was in there so he didn't greet anyone and proceeded to find a seat. He chose the desk that was far enough of the black cat and waited for the lesson to begin.

Ollie sloooowly and very cautiously made his way into the classroom, unsure if he'd even gotten the right room. He saw a few familiar faces when he made his way in but, aside from people petting the random cat, everyone was silent and he didn't want to be the first one to break that silence. He walked down the first aisle, and chose a seat at an empty table near the middle of the room. He knew enough about kids who sat at the front of the class and kids who sat at the back so the middle was going to be just fine for a quiet kid like him.

Oliver tossed his fairly heavy backpack up onto the table, which made a fairly loud thud, and he flinched in response to it. "sorrysorrysorry." He made sure not to look around the room to see if anyone else was looking at him, and, instead, starting pulling out all of the supplies he was going to need for this class.

As he sat there, he just kept reminding himself that if he didn't draw attention to himself, he'd be okay.

She couldn't believe she was at class...willingly...ugh, this was so unnecessary. Actually, she wouldn't call it willingly. Not only was she being constricted by a bunch of snakes, her parents also threatened they'd cut off her acting opportunities if she didn't get her sugar honey iced tea well mixed together.

Rorie dropped her stuff with a loud thump! next to the far back desk, following with slumping down in the seat herself. She took a minute to take in the class. They were all cooing over a cat on desk. Cats were cute an all, but not when they were surrounded by idiots. This is what she had to deal with, sigh. And with that, she proceeded to banging her forehead against the desk in frustration.

Gabriel had been about to start his obsessive compulsive shtick with the notes (WHILE KEEPING A SIDE!EYE ON THAT CAT, THANKS)...but surroundings and things about those surroundings happened....leaving the Ravenclaw both amused and CONFUSED.

Yes.....the RULES had been read and this Professor liked apples...but really?........Should he have brought one, too?

First class.

Chance was not excited but excited. Charms was great and all but this was the first class of the OWL year! He was not ready, he was NOT ready. Fumbling with his books, Chance walked into class and sat in the middle. Not too close but not too far. He was at an equilibrium.

Seeing many familiar faces, he gave them all smiles. But he was concentrating on the professor that wasn't here yet. He cocked his eyebrow looking around. Apparently, this professor was a looked. He had heard mumbles all around the school. Now, where was he so he could see what all the fuss was about??

Archie was unpacking his things when not one but TWO people sat beside him. Look at him being all popular! "Hey Si," he greeted his Gryffindor friend quietly, getting the sense from his lack of greeting that the Lion perhaps still needed some space. Archie was here for him whenever though, and gave him a warm, reassuring smile in return. No Gryffindor prefects would be allowed to upset Silas whilst Archie was here. Nuh-uh!

Eden's greeting on his other side, however, was a complete contrast, and Archie couldn't help but grin in return. "It's been LITERALLY forever," Archie replied, with a laugh. A whole...hour, perhaps less? "I'll let you know when it's started, I think," he replied to her next question. "Charms wasn't my strong point last year, but I think sandwiched between you two I can perhaps allow myself to be more optimistic."

Which reminded him...he should introduce them. "Si, Eden....Eden, Si." Now, where was the Professor?

Since Professor New Charms wasn't around.... Zahra offered her high five to HIM. "HEY NEW DUDE."

Being at Hogwarts for a while meant that he'd gotten used to the overly weird and definitely not wonderful things happening in the school but this was kinda new. Who'd decided to bring their pet along, eh? And why were there so many people cooing over it? And whereeeee was that Professor of theirs? Surely he wasn't gonna start off their lesson by being LATE.

Speaking of the man, Grayson hadn't brought him an apple, despite seeing the notice. It wasn't in him to be a suck up and certainly not when he hardly knew the person. Who's to say that the guy wasn't actually a freaking loony who'd escaped from St Mungos and was working here in disguise? In short: he needed more information. Simple as that.

So no apples for you, Professor. Not from us and certainly not yet.

Not that he didn't need any more, something the sixth year noticed when he finally walked further into the classroom and took a look around. Heading over towards an empty seat, Grayson sat down and pulled out his things before letting his bag drop to the floor underneath his desk. There. Ready.

...................... If the man didn't show up in fifteen minutes, could they leave?

Dot wasn't sure where to sit. Not until she knew how this new professor was gonna be and whether she needed an up close and personal with him... or as much distance as possible. She twirled the end of her braid and considered her options. Dima was in the back of the class, and she wanted to sit by him.

But Gabe was right here and looked so GRUMPY. She kind of found that amusing, and Dot found herself sliding into the seat next to him and grinning hugely across the aisle. HI GABE HI. "There's a cat in here. Were we allowed to bring our cats? I have a cat... he doesn't like Charms, though."

Was that cat a pet? 'cause Marigold had a cat that needed new friends and she also really wanted to see kittens, so... POTENTIAL FRIEND. Marigold patted the cat as she passed it, then sat down and brought out a single apple, that she placed in the front of her desk. The new professor was supposed to like apples, right?

She was excited for this new teacher. Maybe he would be cool like Fuller.

Tia had double-checked her schedule before making her way to the third floor of the castle. She had full intentions to arrive early somewhat in part because she'd SEEN the Charms Professor at the feast and he was quite the eye candy, so getting to know him wouldn't hurt. Yes she'd read his rules which had said he liked apples and would like whoever gave him apples, but she did not bring him an apple because it was a lesson and she didn't fancy keeping the professor away.

But upon entering and seeing apples at several student's desks as well as at the front desk, she frowned because there was no Professor Eye Candy in the room. Just students and a black cat. And why all the apples? Because she was a competent reader and was pretty sure apples were NOT listed on the what to bring notice about the lesson. In the fourth year's mind, they were just a distraction from what they were here for - to learn charms.

And speaking of distractions from learning, Tia caught sight of the familiar blond head of the male she'd met in Malkin's. So he did attend lessons, despite his preference to other activities outside of classes. A small smile on her face, she plopped down into the seat next to him.

"Hey Zander." She greeted. "You look nervous about something? Is it the lack of pro---" Tia trailed off as she caught sight of the badge pinned to his robes. "You. Y--y-y-yooureee .... a Prefect?" Guess he had to attend classes now; obviously he was just being modest back in the robe shop.

In her own little mind, Kate was running down the corridors in excitement and anticipation of her very first Hogwarts lesson. Running only in her mind, mind you. She would never really run down the corridors, since it'd just make her look silly. Well, maybe if there was a three-headed dog chasing her, because someone she'd met a few weeks ago told her there had once been one here.

Kate also had no idea who her Charms professor was. She guessed she'd have to find out later, because he or she was nowhere to be found. Oh, well. She didn't hesitate any further but went to find a seat. There was a cat on Evie's desk. Hmm. Kate eyed it and wondered if it belonged to her fellow Ravenclaw. No idea. She situated herself in the seat she'd chosen and just sat there waiting to figure out what went on in a Hogwarts lesson.

She couldn't wait!
