Bay arrived at the prefects compartment, it was going to be weird because he normally has only seen it from the outside "it's now or never" he thought while he opened the door. As soon as he stepped through he was pleasantly surprised. " I'm the first person here" he said out loud to himself. Making his way to a near by seat he sat down and pulled out his pet Pygmy puff Ziggy. The little blue fur ball bounced around and made his little noises, he seemed to be very happy to be going back to Hogwarts. Patting him he put his head back and relaxed waiting for other people to come.

Jasmine wasn't quite sure whether or not she was supposed go go directly to the Prefect's compartment. She decided to head toward the front of the train and make her decision on the way. She'd never sat up front before, but there was a first time for everything. Jasmine discreetly peeked into compartments along the way. It would be good to have a place to escape to, if necessary.

Finally arriving at the door to the Prefect's compartment, Jasmine paused and took a deep breath. One good thing was that almost everyone was new to the job, just like she was. That helped her mindset a bit. Addressing her new puff, she said, "Alright buddy, here we go"

Opening the door to he compartment, Jasmine stepped inside and was relieved to see a familiar face. "Bay, hi. How are you?" It was good to see him looking well after last year's incident. Oh and he had a pygmy puff too. Her baby would get to make a new friend. "Congratulations." Now Jasmine was excited to see who would be coming through the door next.

Leaving Charmander with Connor, Jun went ahead and headed towards the prefect compartment. Least he knew the ferret was safe there. Singing a song, he walked in and noticed there were already people in there. Oh good, there'll be company. His fellow house prefect was here, who he never talked to until now. And the male Gryffindor one. Who had a familiar face. Jun just couldn't put his finger on who he was right now. It'll hopefully come to him later. "Hey, guys. I'm Jun," Y'know, like the month except no E at the end. And there were people out there who actually didn't pronounce his name right. Like at his trainee program.

Pursing his lip and squinting his eyes a bit at the lion prefect, it finally clicked. "You!" He pointed at the boy. "You're Bay, right? Lux's boyfriend?" The one that so many people bothered her about. Seriously. It was none of their business. Jun had seen them together around the castle at the beginning of last term, before-- HE WAS THE ONE IN THE HOSPITAL WING. YES. THIS WAS BAY. Little redhead's boyfriend. "Lux mentions you plenty when I talk to her. She's adorable," he grinned.

Marigold stood outside of the compartment, adjusting her badge nervously. She was supposed to go in here, right? She peeked in and saw only two older students, both with badges on, but there was no relief. She didn't know these people. She stepped in cautiously, and her hands were once again drawn to straightening her badge.

"Er... Hi?" she said to announce her presence. Please let her know the other prefects.

She'd seen Marigold the Hufflepuff enter the compartment. So...she was a Prefect as well. That...was cool. At least there was someone she's talked to in that compartment. Maybe she'd sit across from her or...something. Beverly wiped her palms on her skirt for the hundredth time. There was no reason to be nervous. She deserved the Slytherin Prefects' badge for her hard work. She deserved to be in that compartment.

Whether those thoughts were meant to be comforting or not, Beverly drowned her anxiety. She could do this. She WOULD do this.

Breath in. Breath out.

Adjusting her hair over her left side, where her badge was pinned, Beverly made sure Chomper was carefully situated over her right shoulder. The small rodent was currently napping, which was a good thing considering they weren't going to be in only one another's presence.

Sliding the door open she paused. Oh Merlin. There were people in here already. And Marigold was simply standing there. Act cool, Wayne.

"Hello...all." Shy wave. Okay. That was good. Now Marigold. Nudging the Hufflepuff, Beverly mumbled: "Come on. Lets sit."

Yeah. Sit with her. She didn't know anyone else. Come on, Goldy.

It might have been because the luggage compartment was closer to the front of the train but the Gryffindor decided to make a stop in the Prefect Compartment before going to take a seat with Lottie. If not that, then it was definitely Lottie telling her it was only right she show her face before disappearing to the back of the train like she planned so here she was sliding the door open and the moment she did, Felix hopped from her hand and darted inside. Doubtless, it wasn't the thought of new faces that got his whiskers in a knot.

The others had brought snacks for her kneazle; thoughtful bunch, weren't they?

Lex entered and spotted felix already circling those with rodents out of cages. Smooth. She wasn't gonna hold herself responsible for whatever happened here, instead, she sized them up, the ones here so far. Funny how Jasmine never mentioned the Prefect thing but then she hadn't mentioned Head Girl to anyone herself so....moving on, there was Bay and Jun, that Marigold puffer and Wayne.

Uh-huh...they'd seen her face right? And would vouch to Lottie that she'd totally been here? "Guess introductions are out of the picture." If they thought they were in, they were lying to themselves. She already knew them and didn't care to go through the tedious ritual. "Gonna be an.....interesting year," for lack of a better word. "No bodies found on the train so far, yeah?" No? Great work team, move out..or wait....

"Let's see something entertaining while I'm here." They could levitate Wayne through the window if they promised not to drop her or maybe have a rodent race and Felix could have the winner. She was game and had a loooot of time before they hit Hogsmeade.

Jasmine was happy to see Bay. At least she was guaranteed to know two Prefects. Hearing he door open, she looked up to see who'd be entering next. It was her co-Ravenclaw Prefect.......no Head Boy. Cool. Jasmine had seen him around, but never actually met him. "Hi Jun, I'm Jasmine. It's nice to meet you.....oficially." Guess they'd be seeing a lot of each other his year.

Then two younger girls entered the compartment. Ah, the Hufflepuff and Slytherin Prefects. Were they as nervous as Jasmine was? She had a feeling that they were. Taking it upon herself to break the ice, Jasmine said, "Hi I'm Jasmine." She tried to think of something to say that would put everyone at ease, but she was drawing a blank.

Just then, Lex appeared with Felix in tow. The comic relief had arrived. One could always count on Lex to say something strangely amusing. Glad that her puff was still in his cage and out of Felix's reach, Jasmine greeted the.......Head Girl. "Hey Lex, congratulations on the big badge. You've been holding out on me." Well Jasmine had been holding out too. She hadn't told Lex that she'd made Prefect. Surprise!

Time to drop in on the other Prefects, yes? Was Adi nervous about this? Nope. He was actually looking forward to see who had got the badges. The fourth year entered the compartment, surveying it as he did so.

Ohh, looky! A couple of his friends had gotten the shiny badges! Adi was especially pleased that Jasmine had gotten one. And then there's Bay, Mari, Bev... Of course Alexa was Head Girl. The Head Boy was familiar though the Puffer had never spoken to him.

"Hi, guys!'' Adi said happily by way of announcing his presence.

So Beverly was a prefect. Marigold hadn't even interacted with her much but was so relieved that she knew someone else in this compartment that she instantly gravitated towards the girl. Yes. Sitting could happen. She stayed by Beverly's side as she sat down, having a quick crisis about accidentally sitting on her own hand.

Breathe, McAlistor.

She turned back to her savior friend? fellow girl prefect and mouthed the words, "Is this a meeting or something?" She didn't know anyone besides Elodie that was a prefect and since Elodie didn't tell her all the things, she was ignorant. But then Lex/Head Girl walked in. Okay. She was in the right place.

Oh. Adi. Fellow puff prefect. She smiled at him before her face returned to its nervous position.

He was almost completely out when he heard the door open and his name being called… he knew the voice and a smirk came on his face as he opened his eyes. ”Jasmine!!!” he said while moving over for her to sit beside him.. he had a friend that he could talk to in here.. thank goodness.

”congrats to you as well… seems like we’ll be spending a lot more time together!” he was glad at the chance because you know …well last year he was out for most of it so to Bay hoped he could spend as much time with his friends as possible.



Another person and yup.. he knew the dude, he’s seen him hang around with Alexa and Lux has mentioned him a few times. ”hey Jun, errrrr.. yeah… I’m Bay and yes she’s my girlfriend” he said with an eyebrow up… but hey he seemed plently nice to him so far.

”yeah she’s pretty awesome and cute” he said while laughing because of the awesome grin on the dudes face. ”hopefully this year will be better yeah?... last year and all… its going to fly by” saying kind of out loud for everyone.



ohh.. another someone he’s see around but he couldn’t put her name to the face.. ”hi” Bay said as he watched her move in towards the compartment. Turning his body to see her more he thought he should introduce himself. ”hey.. I’m Bay” he said as he stuck out his hand for her to shake, its not like hes going to offer this girl a hug.



More and more people started to come in and he couldn’t help but smile. ”hello” he answered her as he turned his attention out the window to allow everyone else to chat and meet while he relaxed, to be honest he was a bit nervous coming back to Hogwarts and he was surprised that his parents had allowed him to come back.. but he just didn’t want anything bad to happen to him this year.



another person and it was Alexa, his fellow Gryffindor. ”Hey Alexa” he said as he leaned his head against the window now, more for comfort than anything else, soon enough he’ll have to get up and move around the compartments making sure the kids weren’t torturing each other.



”hey dude!!” he smiled as he waved Adi over to sit beside him… yay another one of his friends received the badge! Awesomeness. Picking up Ziggy he placed him next to Jasmines pet and watched Ziggy slowly move closer to her pet.. it was cute how Ziggy was so curious and adventurous, kind of like him. ”Take a seat!” now that it was all cleaned now.

Ah, Jasmine. Least his fellow house prefect had a name. And a simple one to remember. That or Jun just had a really bad memory. "Nice to meet you," He smiled. He should probably give her warning on how he was definitely not going to be the very serious prefect out of them too. But he figured she'd eventually see that one they get to school. Jasmine might even see him riding down the stairs on his skateboard and breaking a bone. So much for being a good example. "Looking forward to this term? Should be fun with a badge," Jun leaned on the wall and smirked. He was definitely going to plan things with Connor later around this.

Yup, he was right. Least the boy was a nice one, so far. He chuckled. "She is, especially when she thanked me for all those chocolate frogs I had given her last term. Poor child was having withdrawals," Lucky her, Jun didn't really eat chocolate. He mostly saved them up for Lilah, Vinnie and now Lux if she ran low on them. "Ugh, here's hoping. But I would like to keep my badge for as long as I can," Or just duplicate it and hand in the copy if they don't keep them. A little trinket for a hopefully good term he'll have and all.

Oh look, more people were coming in. Two puffers and a snake. Oh, and was that a sugar glider on the snake's shoulder? Jun waved at all three of them, and was about to introduce himself when the two girls decided to sit instead. Okay, shy bunch. The older kids didn't bite. Much. Taking a chair, Jun set it in front of the two girls, not too close to them and sat down. "Hey, guys, I'm Jun. Don't be nervous. Think of it this way, you get to possibly boss some people around with your badges. It'll be fun," He nodded. Or maybe he was the only one not too nervous about it? They were younger and only prefects. He was Head Boy and basically their leader. One that had no idea on how to lead in the first place. Resting his chin on the top rail of the chair, he turned towards the snake prefect. "I like your sugar glider. I have a ferret but it was best not to bring him in here. Not with Cambridge's kneazle probably following behind her when she gets here," Oh, and speak of the devil. And her pet. Which meant bad news for the girl.

Jun laughed and turned his head towards Lex. "Y'know perfectly well that bodies don't drop until you walk in. Any kind of bodies," He eyed the the girl's pet and leaned in a bit towards her. "Wanna keep him alive? Hide him from Felix. The kneazle shows no mercy," He whispered to her and tilted his head towards the feline who was already eyeing. See? Charmander would've been a goner in here. "Entertaining. Hm, Felix is always good on that," Especially if he were chasing something.

She honestly didn't know why she agreed to come on the train. Her dad was staying at Hogsmeade for the duration of this year, so why not just hop on over the street to Hogwarts? But nooo. Dad and Kennedy wanted her to 'live' the train experience as a Prefect. If THIS was their idea of experiencing...well, they were boring people.

Shooting a polite nod and Cambridge, she nodded. No bodies. None that she knew of. "What do we do if something happens? If we find a body, what do we do?" she asked quietly. Yes, she was asking for leadership advice, and hopefully Cambridge wouldn't tell her to poke the body...because Beverly WOULD poke the body. Sigh.

Erm...introductions were happening? At least by the Ravenclaw's hand, Jasmine. "I'm Beverly...Beverly Wayne." THERE. They knew her name and that was enough interaction for now...or were they suppose to talk rules and all that? It'd be useful information.

Either way, Beverly was glad to see that Marigold had sat with her. Good. Now they weren't loner losers, and--

ADITYA WAS A PREFECT!

It might not show on her face, or on any bone in her body, but she was glad to see the guy. She liked playing the No-smiling-at-Aditya Game. It was fun. But he was a PREFECT. She shot him a wave, and something that could have been a quick, ghostly grin, but it was gone soon. "Congrats on the badge." She actually meant it.

Turning back to Marigold, she nodded. "Kind of...?" Kennedy had given her this lecture about duties and all that, but Beverly had been terribly busy with a piece of cake at the time to pay attention. "School leaders meet here to interact and stuff." Something like that.

Oh, there was another dude--Bay, was it? He got a shy wave from the Slytherin Prefect. Her hand froze mid-way down as the Head Boy came and sat in front of her and Marigold.

What...was he doing? Pfft. She wasn't nervous. Well...not THAT much. And yes, she knew she'd get to boss people around, that's why she had the badge, and it's the ONLY reason why she'd accepted it. Oh? He knew about sugar gliders and didn't actually refer to Chomper as a rat or hamster! Okay. MAYBE he wasn't THAT bad. Maybe.

Eyeing Chomper on her shoulder, she eyed this Jun guy. "I'll protect him against kneazles." Nod, nod. She would. Even if they were Cambridge's. Even if the Head Girl unnerved her like an escapee patient of the mental ward at St. Mungos. She leaned sideways and glanced at Lex. Then leaned back and gazed at Jun. "You'll help me protect Chomper against this Felix, yeah?" She blinked at him with those big, multi-colored eyes of hers. She'd like to think she didn't need help, but...what if the kneazle took after its owner? Chomper would be royally screwed.

Jasmine smiled at her friend and went over to sit next to him. "Thanks. Yes it does seem like we'll be seeing more of each other. I'm looking forward to the new term." Hopefully it would be better than the last one. A little less drama would be nice.




Still watching the door, Jasmine was happy when she saw Adi enter the compartment. Adi was a Prefect too! Three of her friends were in the Prefect club and that made Jasmine feel like things might just work out after all.

"Hi Adi. It's so good to see you. Congratulations!"



Jasmine smiled back at her Ravenclaw partner. He seemed nice enough, which was a good thing since they would have to work together......a lot. "Oh I'm definitely looking forward to the term. I am so ready to get things started." Jasmine hoped that life would be more fun with a badge. That remained to be seen.......but, she was determined that this would be a good year.....or else.



Ah, Beverly Wayne. So now Jasmine had a name to go with the face. She was rather quiet and Jasmine didn't get the sense that she was exactly the quiet type. She supposed that everyone's true personality would reveal itself before long. The Hufflepuff Prefect had barely said two words and she seemed borderline terrified. Jasmine could understand why, but she figured that they would all get used to each other sooner or later.

Someone was still missing though and Jasmine watched the door to see who the last Prefect would be.

Oh my, quite the dull affair in this Compartment, wasn't it? If they were going to be going around with this small talk of badges and congratulations there was hardly reason for her to be here...or desire for that matter. Her attention span would never permit her to stay, no more than the kneazle currently circling Wayne.

"Not holding out, trying to keep you from nightmares ahead of time." Lex confirmed. Seriously. She couldn't have been the only one to think giving her a badge was a monumental slight on the Headmistress' part. One she'd enjoy to the fullest for as long as she could. The 'hi's got nods but it was the Snake that caught her proper attention. "You give 'em a solid kick to make sure the idiot's not faking. A well placed one to the gut should suffice. If they don't react you know they're dead and that's when you search for an empty compartment to stuff them in and guard it to prevent mass panic." Logic. Lex had it.

She cracked a smile, amused at Jun's comeback. "No bodies dropping on my watch, they know better." Lex didn't have the tolerance for those who suddenly dropped dead, quite the inconsiderate lot they often proved to be. "And how rude of you spreading rumours on my kneazle." Though they were hardly rumours if they were true. Ahem. Cough.

"Felix is a proper pet." Lex promised with a solemn nod...right before adding, "One that knows what he likes to eat, is all." It was just that simple okay? And another addition. That Adi Puffer. Despite her asking, however, no one had suggested anything. Clearly she'd have to seek fun elsewhere. Shame.

If Adi wasn't mistaken, Mari was looking quite nervous. "Mari, hello! Relax. You'll be an awesome prefect.'' He had to encourage his fellow Puffer and friend, after all. And there was Beverly! She was one of his favourite Slytherins but as he had with Cutty, he kept it to himself. "Hey...Bev.'' Grin. Adi knew she disliked being called that but he didn't care. It was fun defying her. She got one of his big grins in return for the tiny one she had given him. "Right back at you.''

Adi plopped himself down next to Bay. Looks like the guy was fully better, as if nothing had happened to him last term. That was awesome. "What's up?'' he asked as he eyed the two pets. Gus was safely tucked away in his pocket right now and the Puffer wondered if these two would react to a toady. Anyway...he turned to his Ravenclaw friend. "You too, Jasmine.'' She was one person he knew would make an excellent Prefect.

Ohh, Head Boy dude was speaking about bossing people around. Hehe. That sounded cool. Not that he would abuse his Prefect power. Well, maybe not by much. "Hey, Jun. I'm Adi.'' Best get to know the guy, right?

Lex wanted to do something entertaining? Hmmm... "We could have a candy eating contest or something.'' Adi was in the mood for Chocolate Frogs.

It’s either this kid would be sorted into Slytherin, or Ravenclaw.

How did Dante know about the boats without paddles? Did he read his History book right away? Did a research on the school before attending it? Whatever it is that Dante did, Ethan was sure that this kid was protégé material. Hehehe. “Just…be careful. You don’t want to be soaking wet when it’s your turn to be Sorted.” Oh maaaaaan. Ethan’s going to watch this kid’s sorting.

And finally. The Prefects’ Compartment.

“Now, when I open the door, give them your best smile when I introduce you, okay?” Ethan leaned forward and reached for the compartment door, opened it, and shifted Dante on his back.

“GREETINGS my fellow Student Leaders!” He was fashionably late, but he’s got a good reason as to why. He was busy patrolling the train, that he even got a lost boy on his back. And…LOOOOOK at those students who got the other badges! “Congratulations, you guys!” His eyes fell on Beverly of course. She was her co-prefect then? GOOD! At least it wasn’t Agatha. “Miss Wayne.” Ethan gave her a curt nod and a grin. The Slytherin prefect then turned his attention to the boy on his back. “I found a lost boy. His name’s Dante.” Give them your million dollar smile, kiddo.
