The castle houses numerous suits of armour, scattered all about, but one of the most impressive collections can be found on the second floor, as if guarding the way to the Headmistress' chambers. Why, even their spacing down this corridor could be a deliberate attack pattern.
Careful what you try with these dusty, dirty, squeaky knights. They can be rather... animated.

The Creature teacher, Javy was walking about the second floor on his way to the next floor. Passing by through he was met with the sudden urge to.. to-
"ACHOO!"
Sniffing before he took a handkerchief from his jacket sleeve to wipe his nose. Merlin, was it dusty in here on top of the cool weather outside. He eyed the many rows of the suits of armour. Quite dusty at that.. How long had they last been cleaned? "Don't mind me, just going to tidy you up." Not bothering to figure out the last attempts at cleaning, he took his wand to start vacuuming up the cobwebs surrounding a few.
Meet me on the second floor in the corridor with all those suits of armor, Sophie had told Cat of their urgent forthcoming meeting. No one probably ever wandered this particular corridor unless they were going to see the Headmistress, the Ravenclaw assumed, so it seemed pretty likely that there would be no one around. No one to eavesdrop while she shared top secret information. Except the suits of armor, but the ones in the gallery on the third floor were her friends, so these ones down a level were probably like extended family or something, in theory. They were good company to keep.
So there the third year sat on the floor in between two suits of armor, bundled in outerwear because the castle was so darn drafty and wasn't tremendously good at keeping the unusually bitter winter air from seeping inside, was it? Ugh. She was all ready for summer adventures with Tobes again... even though that meant Cat and Mo would be graduated and leaving her forever.
Sophie wrung her hands, her heart laden with sadness and anxiety over the very thought. But this wasn't meant to be an unhappy meeting - Soph had exciting NEWS to share - so she straightened up and tried to stop fidgeting, glancing down the corridor every few moments, awaiting her best friend's arrival, undeniably nervous.

So a super secret important meeting had been called to order which suited Cat just fine because secret meetings required food and she was ever so fond of things that required eating. It took her a moment longer than she'd expected to arrive at the designated meeting place, but that was simply because she had made a detour to the kitchen. "Hello, Soph." She greeted the younger girl happily, offering her a still steaming mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows. It was going to go great with the cookies, too.
Carefully, Caterina unfurled the little blanket she had brought and laid it out on the floor for them to sit on. The floor was probably cold, considering the weather and all, and this way it was like a little picnic.
Sophie was a little bit calmer when Cat finally came into view, and the girl scampered to her feet to give the Slytherin a big hug as she approached. There was something close to regret that crossed her face for a moment - she felt bad for not having today's talk with her big sister figure sooner, but... y'know. Stuff had gotten in the way.
"Hi, Cat," she wanted to go right in for the hug, but resisted as her arms were full. She accepted the hot chocolate from her with a big smile, "You're the best, did you know? Thank youuuuu." She set it where she was going to sit on the floor, and then once everything was settled, she hugged Cat real good. Squeeeeze.
But then she was pulling away and hopping onto the blanket, stretching out and picking the mug back up to sip at her hot chocolate with nervous, squirmy enthusiasm. She did take a few small sips in silence for a few long moments, contemplating her next choice of words, then she grinned the biggest of grins and just came right out with it, "We kissed." There. Straight and to the point. And totally proud of herself.

Cat fussed a little with the blanket and the mugs of hot chocolate and the cookies that she had made special for Soph before she was fully settled and even then she wasn't. "You're welcome, deary." She kissed the top of Sophie's head and smiled before she too settled herself to sit on the blanket. "Do you have enough marshmallows?"
She started to uncover the cookies, noting that they were still right-out-of-the-oven warm but dropped the lid, "I'm sorry... what? You... who?" Was this a joke? It was not by any means hot inside the castle but it had quite suddenly gotten very stuffy, hadn't it? OH DEAR. WHAT?
Heeeehehehehe. "Uh huh, I do. Thanks." Sophie nuzzled against Cat at the kiss on her head, then once they were settled and she had shared her news, Soph promptly stole a cookie after the Slytherin dropped the lid. She took a large bite, grinning a crumb-filled grin at her reaction, and shrugged. Totally casual and calm and everything. The worst part was over, now that she'd come right out and said it.
"Kissed. Me and Tobes. New years." Heheheheheh. She wasn't hiding at all that she was so, so proud of herself, and she went right into her explanation without prompting, especially because she was suddenly a little worried Cat would have a heart attack if she didn't explain soon, "We rang in the new year together at midnight, y'know, at the skate park by his house. Really cool place, really - the local kids there set off some Muggle fireworks. Nothing like ours, but really cool all the same - and we were sittin' together, y'know, cuddlin' in a blanket all casual and stuff, and then... it was midnight, and the fireworks went off, and we hugged, and..."
She trailed off for a moment, finally stealing a glance at Cat for the first time to check that she was still breathing before finishing, "Then he started to lean in, so I leaned in, and that was that." Wasn't she so happy for her? Soph took another bite of her cookie. "...It's about time, right?"
The more Sophie had explained to Cat, the less confident she became that it was a good idea to tell her - when the last words crossed her lips, she sounded less than certain. WAS it about time? Did Cat think it was too soon? Soph and Tobes been friends for a WHOLE year and a half pretty much and SHE was fourteen and HE was fifteen. They were totally old enough.

Weren't they?
Kissed... She... Toby.... Kissing... They.... Cat was staring and she knew it but she couldn't help it. She certainly wasn't expecting that was the news Sophie had been wanting to tell her. To say she was surprised was an understatement, but then, as she thought about it, she realized that she had been younger than Sophie when Marco Sforza had kissed her for the first time. She really shouldn't be surprised, but Soph... Soph was like her little sister, her own little baby. She was Soph.
Cat realized that she had been thinking way too long and hadn't said anything and she was probably making Sophie feel weird. "You didn't punch him, did you?" No. She hadn't. Normal girls didn't punch the boys who kissed them. Sorry about that one, Sforza.
"I mean...." What did she mean? Cat beamed, "Oh, Soph! Your first kiss!" She was NOT going to cry. Nope.

........
Many moments passed and Cat hadn't said anything, which made Sophie certain that Cat didn't actually approve. She totally wasn't excited for her at all and what if it wasn't because of her age - what if it was TOBES she didn't approve of?! The concern she was feeling at the Slytherin's silence showed in her furrowed eyebrows, but then Cat was suddenly talking about punching and smiling and acting very excited. Phew.
Well. At least the girl knew well enough to not come right out and trample on her happiness, yeah?
"Why would I punch him? S'not like I hated it or him." There was a pause, then a smirky sort of grin appeared as she went on, "To tell ya the truth, I was kind of hoping he'd kiss me that night. Felt like... felt like it'd be proper and all, y'know? I didn't wanna waste my first on some dummy or a moment that didn't feel right - but, like, it was just me and him bein' cute and cuddly and all, and with the fireworks, and..." She sighed a little, a content smile accompanying the hearts in her eyes. "Don't think it coulda been more perfect."

Why would she punch him. Cat grinned at the question and tugged Sophie over to her so that she could give her a great big hug. Her little Soph. She kissed a boy. Her first kiss! AH! "Oh, I know. I don't know why I asked that. Just cause I punched the first boy who kissed me doesn't mean that everyone does." She just grinned yet again, "I'm so glad for you. Truly. You can't redo your first kiss so I'm happy that it was perfect." And gosh, Sophie had done a lot of growing up recently. They were going to have lots of other things to be talking about soon enough.
She was suddenly hit by how much she was going to miss the kid next term and she pinched her teasingly, trying to not think about it. "Are you going to kiss him again?"

Soph wasn't sure why Cat was hugging her, but she accepted the embrace gladly and giggled, wrapping her arms tightly around the Slytherin like her life depended on it. Cat gave the best hugs, did she know?
...She did what? "Why in the world did you punch Mo?" Was he not a good kisser at first? Did he do it too soon? Or not in the proper environment? Did Cat doubt that Mo was the one for her back then?
Sophie was glad her own first kiss had been perfect, too, and nuzzled against Cat's shoulder in the hug in agreement. "Ow," she pulled away when Cat pinched her, grinning all the while, and retaliated by briefly tickling the older girl's side. "Maaaaaaaybe. What's it to ya?" She didn't mind telling her at all, but she had no qualms against teasing Cat a little. Hehe.

Mo? Oh. It occurred to Cat then that she and Soph had never really talked about this sort of thing. Caterina shook her head, "Mo wasn't my first kiss. It was this boy named Marco Sforza. He's a year older than me and his parents live next to the vineyard so we all grew up together." She smiled again, thinking, "He would always take my side against my brothers, you know how boys are sometimes." Cue an eyeroll there. Her brothers had been selfish with their games sometimes not wanting to let her play with them, but she knew now that they'd really been concerned over the fact that if they'd hurt her, papa would have hurt them back. "One day, we were chatting and he up and kissed me without warning. So I punched him because I wasn't expecting it at all." Poor Marco.
Cat wiggled away from Sophie's tickling and settled again to take a sip of her hot chocolate. "You're definitely going to tell me about it, right?" Definitely!

Gasp.
Someone had come before Mo? Mo wasn't Cat's first kiss? What... kind of world were they living in?
"That's weird," Sophie settled for replying, looking far too sad with this news. "I just assumed Mo was your first, y'know, everything 'cause you two are the greatest example of soulmates I've ever seen in my whole entire life." This was sad news. A sad day. Sophie was so, so sad. "M'glad you punched the Marco guy. Boys shouldn't kiss us girls without asking, verbally or with their eyes, y'know, or at least they should make sure we want it, too." She huffed a little. "I'd have punched him, too." Couldn't blame her one bit.
Setting her own hot chocolate aside, Sophie laid down on her back on the blanket, shrugging a little bashfully at Cat's inquiry. "I gueeeess. I mean. I dunno if we'll kiss again. I mean... I'm sure we will, I think, yeah, but I dunno when. Not really plannin' it. We're sort of..." her brows furrowed as she paused to let her brain catch up with her mouth and consciously think about her words as she continued, "...in relationship limbo. We... do all the things that a boyfriend and girlfriend would do, I think, like with our hugs and cuddles and hand holding and now that we've kissed, but... just... without the label, y'know?" It was very strange. Very weird. Besties with benefits or something. "Boys are confusing." Sigh.

Thanks to the freaking cold outside, Grayson had no means of wandering out there. No. He refused to go out there unless it was a case of emergency because if he did, he was sure he was going to freeze and someone would put a tutu on him. OR, he'd have to waddle out there bundled up in enough clothes for six or seven people. You see his problem?
So, not going there. Nope.
He still needed to find some sort of method of wasting his time so, with his hands tucked into his pockets, the fourth year wandered around inside the castle instead. That didn't mean that he wasn't still bundled up, though. He even tightened his scarf as he walked along the second floor corridor. He didn't know why he was here or what was interesting along this corridor but if it killed time, then why no--
.......................... STARE.
Head!tilt.
Armours? Suits of armours? Did they DO anything? Probably not due to the amount of dust that was on there. Jeez, did nobody clean up in here? And if these were dusty, that probably meant that they didn't move or anything. Shame. He would have been all too impressed if they animated themselves and got out their spears for a FIGHT. That didn't mean that he wasn't going to try, however. He even took out his wand and stared at the suits of armours some more.

Cat decided that the best course of action was to let Sophie speak all that she wanted to say, and then answer her questions. She smoothed down Sophie's hair in a way that her mother would do to hers when they were talking. "Mo wasn't the first boy to kiss me, but he is the first boy I ever loved and I think that's way more important than a first kiss." She smiled, "First kisses are more awkward than great usually anyway. You got lucky." Then, she kissed her head too, because she was just so cute. "I'll tell you a secret though, okay? I'd like for Mo to be the last boy I ever have a first kiss with." Hmmm. "Don't get all excited though. Nothing wedding like is going to happen." She didn't want to give Soph the wrong idea, or anything.
"As for Marco, I don't blame him for surprise kissing me. He was nervous. It was his first kiss too. I sort of feel bad for punching him." Mostly she liked to bring it up to him whenever they talked. "Plus, he was a good boyfriend." And now he was a dad. Crazy times had passed.
Cat leaned forward and listened again, "Boys can be confusing." She shrugged, "But you can most always take them at face value. Most of the time, they'll tell you the truth. Maybe he's... not ready. Maybe he's scared of labeling it?" She went quiet for a moment, thinking about how Mo hadn't been sure of being a boyfriend and how he'd needed his time. She was going to encourage Sophie to be patient, because it payed off excellently.

Okay. Now what?
A grey white ginger cat ran through the corridor as if it was chasing something. Its furry, squirrel-like tail was probably the only thing that could be seen if one looked closely enough. The creature disappeared through one of the suits of amours holes, making loud noises that suddenly stopped as a thirteen year-old girl rushed up the corridor.
"LADY!" Agatha called out, placing a hand on the wall and brushing her hair out of her face, trying to catch her breath. Running all the way from the dungeons up to the second floor was some exercise. Especially with this winter outfit.

And then there was a cat.
Of course there was a freaking cat.
Grayson, whose attention had been focused on the suits of armours entirely, almost missed the feline. The only way he knew that there was another creature there was because of the hissing or whatever it was and the tail. Unless the thing in there was a squirrel. No. Couldn't do that. Someone was running along the corridor. Someone.............

................. a LADY?! What in the name of Merlin?!
The expression on his face dead!panned as he looked at the new areival. Lady! This probably shouldn't have been surprising coming from the owner of a freaking squirrel. Who even kept those annoying creatures as pets, anyways? "Do I look like a lady?" He was probably putting himself up for a sassy answer in return but right now, Grayson did not care.

Still panting, the girl finally managed to fix her hair again - or so she thought - and looked around to see if she could see where her cat had gone. She wasn't able to continue her thorough search, though, because she was interupted by this random guy standing there.
The third year stared hard at him before asnwering his silly question. "I wasn't talking to you." She snapped, gaving her hair one last flip to make sure it was alright - which surely was notreally. "My cat's--" No, she wasn't going to tell that guy that her cat had ran away from her. She'd never embarrass herself like that. "Nevermind." It was all the girl mumbled before walking around the area trying to find her pet. "Come BACK here right NOW!"

Cat had a way of always putting Sophie at ease. The world could be splitting in half under their feet with fireballs falling from the sky and if Cat were to hug Soph, smooth down her hair, and plant a kiss on her head, all the fourteen-year old's fear and sadness would be gone - there wouldn't be a trace of worry left in her being.
So the young Ravenclaw instinctively scooted up close to her pseudo big sister, listening to her explanation and smiling contently all the while. "I think it's more important, too. He'll be your last first kiss, first and last boy you'll ever love... all sorts of other lasts. 'Cause why would you need anyone else? Mo's everything." Everything for Cat, at the very least, but Sophie was quite certain that Mo was the closest thing to a real-life prince charming the world had ever seen. She grinned up at Cat at the denial of a wedding, but Soph felt that she knew better.
She just hoped when the time came along, she'd be in the running for the job of flower girl, despite her age.
Sophie didn't like to hear that anyone but Mo was a boyfriend of Cat, so despite Marco being good to Cat, Soph didn't comment any further on that matter. Thanks for taking good care of Cat, Marco, but you were NOT THE ONE FOR HER. He stood no chance against Mo.
Boys were confusing, simple as that. She huffed a little, now sprawling out on her stomach on the blanket, using her laced hands as a pillow for her cheek while she frowned at Cat. "I know he is. But... I guess I can't... blame him. And I figure... if, y'know, we're meant to be and all, doesn't really matter if we have the label or not right now, s'long as we're happy. We've got the rest of our lives ahead of us. Right?"
INTRUDER ALERT! INTRUDER ALERT!
Feeling the presence of an unwanted visitor within, the suit of armor jumped off its stand and began STOMPING about the corridor.

OUT YOU FOUL BEAST! OUT!
STOMP STOMP STOMP!
Feisty. Smirk.
And why was she flicking her hair so much? And trying to fix it? Not that she was getting very far but that wasn't something Grayson was about to tell her. Not when he was yet to find out why she was here and calling him a la--
Oh? A cat? "You called a cat lady? Out of all the names in the history of catverse and you decide to go for lady?!" Maybe he should give her some credit because she hadn't gone for a namby pamby name like fluffy or whiskers. That didn't sound very threatening. Shrugging, he watched as she walked around, trying to find this lady cat of--
HOLY.
FREAKING.
MERLIN!
"AAAAAAAAAAARGH!"
Grayson JUMPED back from the suits as one of the ANIMATED. Uh huh! This was NOT a figment of his imagination! IT. WAS. WALKING. Or stomping, from what he could tell. And to think all he'd done was take out his wand. What was he meant to do? Say hi? Make a joke? Ask the armour if it had lived through a fair few battles? What?
"What should we do?" he asked to the crazy cat lady over there.
Agatha was going around the corridor, trying to find Lady when the guy spoke to her again, saying something about her naminhg her cat that. She turned around and galred at him. "Be quiet! It's MY cat and I name her whatever I want." RUDE boy! Hmph!
She flipped her hair angrily and was just about to resume looking for her pet when--
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!" Agatha yelled at the same time the boy did and jumped back, making sure he was between her and the armour. "YOU do something!!" She demanded, pushing him towards the stomping suits of armour!! Merlin, that was LOUD!!!

The noise echoed through the corridor as the suit of armor continued to stop around violently, this time joined by its sturdy arms that moved sharply up and down.
Pivoting suddenly, it stomped its way towards the two students. Ready to bulldoze right over them if they didn't move out of its way.

Feisty girls really were the best. So much spunk!
That didn't mean that he appreciated that glare, though. Grayson raised his eyebrows at her before responding coolly, "Whatever you say." Besides, they had more important matters at hand, yes? Like..............
.................. how in the name of merlin were they going to get AWAY FROM THE SUIT OF ARMOUR.
And what was it with girls and using him as a shield? Jeez. She was even pushing him TOWARDS the suit of armour! The one that was COMING FOR THEM. Swear to merlin, if they got out of here alive, he was going to have a few words with this one. Grayson tried to shuffle backwards and AWAY from the suit of armour while his hand reached for his wand. Because according to the crazy cat lady, he was the one who was meant to do something. This was the 21st century. HELLO?! He wasn't going to be her knight in shining armour OR her prince charming. No.
"Stupefy!" he cried, waving it around a little wildly in the general direction of the armour.
Agatha stepped back and forgot completely about her cat. There was a GIGANTIC SUITS OF AMOUR coming her way and she had no clue how to stop it. At least that random boy was still stading in front o her. And he was trying to stun the armour? She didn't think that would work, but she looked up at the thing anyway to see what would happen.
She grabbed the back of the boy's robes to make sure he wouldn't go anywhere and leave her to face the stuis of armour by herself.
Inside the armour, the cat ran up and down once it realised it was moving. Whenever it saw a beam of light, Lady ran that way, but it soon went dark again as the suits moved about. The feline ended up inside the helmet and stayed there.
