The Hogsmeade version of its Diagon Alley counterpart is one of the oldest but best-kept buildings in the village, likely because it sees the most consistent business. Students and villagers alike have utilized the post office and its hundreds of owls for centuries.
The shop, which is small but humming with the noise of friendly birds, houses at least two to three hundred owls, ranging from Great Grey Owls to tiny Scops Owls, the latter of which are for "local deliveries only." The owls sit on colour-coded shelves based on how quickly they will arrive at their destination, with the quickest owls costing the most.
Take your time selecting your owl carefully, as the others tend to get... jealous when they are looked over. Don't worry, though, the Hogsmeade shopkeeper, Ozzy Knickerbocker, is well-trained in treating owl nips and scratches.

Anna walked in with a nervous smile. She looked down at the letter in her hand, hoping she'd get lucky and the owl would go straight to her sister and hide so her parents wouldn't know... She sighed slightly and held the letter close to her, not sure if it was a smart idea or not... Ana didn't want to talk to her, and their parents didn't want her talking to her.... Maybe she should just rip it up and not even try... Not give her sister the chance to do the same as she was sure he would. |

So happy, in fact, that she'd written a letter to her twin cousins in Australia to tell them the good news! Charlotte Reese Stylinson had a boyfriend!! And he was cute. Miracles do happen!!!

"Just make sure to take care of them so they last a little while." Obviously, they would die no matter what but Lux was so happy about it, she hoped those flowers lasted at least a week.
And no, Charlotte didn't exactly know about casual dates...she had only technically been on the one and she didn't even know she was on a date until she'd made that horrible joke and realized her mistake. Luckily, the date ended extremely well so there wasn't much she could complain about. Nodding anyway, she smiled at Lux. She did understand what a casual and noncasual date was so it wasn't like she was lying or anything. "It must be really nice to just be surprised with a non-formal date every so often." Really, though.
Char couldn't help but wonder. "I feel like my boyfriend might do something like that at some point." She didn't want to ask Dec because she already asked way too many questions as it was, but now she was really curious. And by now, she was too distracted by her thoughts so she didn't even realize what words had come out of her mouth...maybe Lux wouldn't even notice?

They were the reason for classes!! If there were no professors, she wouldn't have to go to class and then people wouldn't judge her for sleeping all the time and skipping class so much. Sure, maybe the professors were nice people but as actual educators, she was sure all of the professors would hate her for not ever showing up. "I hope she can help keep them up longer. I'm sure they're really pretty!" And she didn't even have to see them. Lilies were one of her favorite flowers, the other being orchids. There could be a tie for favorite, right?

Char was almost giddy now and she had to slow her brain down a bit to go back and try to remember everything Lux had asked her. She was finding this very hard to do. "Uhhh...he asked me out oooon January fifteenth..we went on a date at the Three Broomsticks once we got back from break." CUE MASSIVE BEAMING SMILE. "And you can't meet him until I meet Bay!" She was one hundred percent serious about this. Charlotte had been waiting all year to meet the girl's boyfriend and still nothing! LAME.
Double dates with the two of them would be beyond interesting though! She wasn't sure how Dec would feel about it but it was always worth asking. Especially if it meant she'd finally get to meet Bay and Lux would get to meet her boyfriend. Hehehe. "YEESSS! We have to do that and they can meet and it'll be the best!" So many of her friends were entering in relationships now and it made her so very happy for them. Of course not everyone needed to be in a relationship to be happy, but she was a totally supportive friend. If any of her friends started dating someone mean, Lux would NOT be cool with it at all. No one hurt her friends if she had any say in the matter.
Declan? The name didn't sound familiar even though they were in the same House. "Is he a new transfer?" There were a lot of those coming into the school. She herself had been a transfer, as had a lot of the other students she knew. "He's in the same Year as Bay!" Charlie knew about the age difference surely. Lux remembered the discussion about it and Willa over the summer while they had been at that cool cafe where the colours of the umbrellas changed. "That's so cute! Did you go to The Three Broomsticks the day that he asked you out?" This was so adorable, and she was so very happy for her friend. "Yes! Double dates! You can talk to Declan about it and I will talk to Bay."
It would be so amazing if it happened, but she would be fine with it if the boys didn't agree. Surely Bay would because he was so nice and easy going, loving to meet new people and make friends. But Lux didn't know Declan yet, and she was not sure if he would agree to going on a double date with people he hadnever met. He had to be nice if Charlie had him for a boyfriend, so he would probably agree! | |
