| | Entrance The Great Hall is flanked by two large, thick, wooden doors that often make a BANG! sound when flung open by dramatic students and/or staff. There are large, beautiful glass windows at the end of the Hall above the staff dais, the usual enchanted ceiling over everyone, and the four regular house tables lined up neatly in the middle.
Whether you make an entrance or choose to simply enter the Great Hall, you'll still be wowed by its size and architecture every time. You might also be pleased to notice the general upgrade in cleanliness, and perhaps a light, pleasantly clean scent from the candles floating above all the tables. Isn't it nice, what money can do for a school? |

| Connor/Schroyers SPNer | Whovian | Sherlockian | | Artist | Cornhusker | Blackhawks Adelaide made her way up to the great hall from the dungeons. She was dressed for the chilly November weather that had started to fall over the grounds. She was pretty used to it by now, her light jacket being just enough to keep her warm.
Once there, Addi leaned up against the wall right by the entrance to the hall. She didn't mind hanging out with a new student. Besides, making new friends was a big part of Hogwarts, even if it was her last year here. It might be nice to have someone new to hang out with, keep her mind off of everything that had been going on lately.

He was still getting used to that. November had brought colder weather than he would have liked but it was fine! He was learning to deal with it. As usual he had a book with him, it was more out of habit. Also because he forgot to put it down, he wasn't typically so forgetful but whatever, it never hurt to have a book.
He figured it would be fun, hanging out with an older student, that's all he seemed to know so far, a few younger, one or two his age, but for the most part they were all older than him. He saw Addi there first, so he approached and tried not to be silent, he might spook her like he had the Divination Professor.. " Hey.. i don't know which way you wanna go from here, but i'm up for whatever.." he said and smiled, Connor was a happy kid, almost always smiling. it was a rare occasion that he didn't have a happy look on his face.

Addi had started humming while she waited. It was just a habit she had. Gosh she missed having constant music here at Hogwarts. Maybe they could have a choir or something. Not like there wouldn't be any interested parties. Too bad she'd thought of that this year. She wouldn't be around next term.
Adelaide looked up as she heard someone coming closer to her, drawing her out of her thoughts. She looked up and gave Connor a big smile. No need to be a downer today. Didn't need to throw the new guy off. "I've heard there's this pretty awesome treehouse I have yet visited in my two years here." Gosh. It had already been that long. Even though it should have been longer.

Everyone should be happy, and no one would really dislike him for thinking that right? He hoped not, Anyway.
The Treehouse! Yes.. " Right, i've been there.. it's pretty cool." He liked it, this school was much bigger than Salem and it was nice to be able to explore it, to see everything and meet everyone. People were a bit nicer here, the older kids didn't bother hanging out with the younger ones there so this was nice to have older friends.. " So you transferred too? where from?" he asked her, and it began. Connor was a bit nosey to say the least but he wasn't rude about it. Nope.

Maybe that place was awesome. She was probably going to kick herself in the butt for not going there sooner. "Sounds great. Let's get going then. I was to busy the last two years to get up there." Between classes, homework, quidditch, and therapeutic baking there really wasn't too much time.
Addi began to walk towards the grounds. "I was uh homeschooled actually. My muggle parents hired me a magical tutor." Those days weren't the most fun, but a lot better than recently. She wasn't going to elaborate unless Connor asked though.

Hogwarts RPG Name: The Narrator | follow me; everything is all right.
The air outside has certainly made its frosty presence known, seeping through minute cracks in the castle that were previously undiscovered by wind, rain, or creature. The enchanted ceiling has lately reflected this turn of events via constantly dim, gray cloud cover. But there seems to be a difference this evening as the dinner rush begins and a strange, cold dust accumulates on tables, benches, floor, and even heads. Could those be..? Surely not... Are those really SNOWFLAKES?!
It is officially snowing inside Hogwarts.

Okay fortune cookie time! The boy left the Astronomy Tower with a Star Trek book underneath his arm and carefully climbed down the stairs. He had to stop a little to adjust his bag so that it wouldn't fall down onto his arm. Once doing so, he continued on his way.
With his bag lazily balanced over one shoulder, Simon made his way down the many Hogwarts stairs and over to the Great Hall. He figured that the easiest way to find people to take a fortune would be there. So he made his way over to the nearest wall and placed his bag on the floor, waiting for someone to walk past. As he was waiting, he pulled out the Star Trek book and flipped through a couple of pages.

As he was waiting, he pulled out the Star Trek book and flipped through a couple of pages. It was really a long walk to the Great Hall. Which is why Nigel liked bring as much food as he could up to the dorm and just not leaving. Plus since they could not go outside. Was there really a reason to leave your dorm. Expect to see your friends in their common room. But since Nigel was already on the Ground Floor, why not take a walk on over to the Great Hall to get something to snack on. But the only thing he focused on was the kid reading about the thing Flamsteed liked. Not astro puns. But the other thing. "You not afraid it will snow in your book"
This weather was really not the best for book reading in Nigel's opinion. But the real question was did he want to walk all the way back to Ravenclaw Tower or just do to the Slytherin Common and hang out with West and Ascanius.
Decisions, Decisions.

Decisions, Decisions. He was in the middle of reading about how the awesome thrusters were engineered on the USS Enterprise when someone approached and interrupted him. The boy looked up to see the Ravenclaw Prefect of all people there. The guy that Agatha admired with the long hair. Woah. " Nope, not really," he said and then he glanced down at his book to see that it was starting to snow harder. " Maybe just a little bit."
He slipped the book back into his backpack carefully. While he was searching in his backpack, he remembered that he had his fortune cookies. Grinning, Simon fished out three plastic bags each containing a fortune cookie that had been dipped in chocolate and added sprinkles to it. He turned around to face the older boy. " I know that this is an odd question, but would you by chance happen to be a Taurus, Leo, or Cancer??"
That wasn't a weird question to ask someone or was it?

That wasn't a weird question to ask someone or was it? Well, it was true a simple hot air charm could dry your book off in a couple minutes or have a couple charms on it to keep it from getting cold or wet. So, true. There probably was nothing to worry about on that front. Though a little worrying never hurt anyone.
Odd Question.
Yes it was a little odd. But he was a Ravenclaw and was use to odd questions. Nigel had to think for a moment to actually remember what his sign was. Since he did not necessarily like Divination and was only there because his former Head of House taught it and it was a good place to take a nap. "Yeah, I am Leo..Why?"
Might as well ask why.

Might as well ask why. A smile played on his lips. YES! A LEO! HE HAD FOUND A LEO! Oh happy day, oh happy day indeed. He beamed and was about to open the bag when he realized that the Ravenclaw had asked him why.
Oh right.
Simon had been expecting the older boy to ask him why Simon would ask him that he was one of those three star signs. " Well you see its for Divination Homework and I made three fortune cookies for a Leo, a Taurus, and a Cancer so I was hoping to find someone with those stars that would like to try a fortune cookie," he said as he handed a plastic bag labeled Leo on it towards Nigel. Inside was one delicious poisonous fortune cookie.
" So could you please do me a big favour and read your fortune?" ooc: The fortune inside the cookie is: Don't wait for change, it may take years. Seize life. Be the change you wish to see in the world.

He did not need a newt in it so why continue taking it. Plus he did not get a owl in it. But that can be glossed over. "Oh, Okay" Nigel took the fortune cookie not asking anymore questions because that would be wasted effort and this was straight forward. He took the plastic bag and took a fortune cookie out of it and handed him back the bag. "Sure" Nigel cracked open the fortune cookie and picked the fortune paper out of the cookie. "Don't wait for change, it may take years. Seize life. Be the change you wish to see in the world....Interesting. At least it not like 'Ignore all other fortunes'."
It was an interesting Fortune. Nigel was more of a go with the follow and enable people and go along with that craziness. Not the leader who would inspire change.
Interesting though.

Interesting though. Simon grinned as the Ravenclaw set off to work. Aha, so Nigel was a man after his own heart as the older boy hadn't asked another question and had just opened the fortune cookie. He nodded when Nigel read the fortune cookie. Oh right, he remembered writing that one. The boy had been stumped about what to write for a couple of minutes when he decided to pretend to be all-Yodalike and just write something.
Yes, fortunes were rather interesting. " Yeah, some of the fortunes are pretty crazy out there. I got one the other day that said, 'Don't forget to wash your cat.' And I don't even have a cat," he said laughing a little. " Some of them are rather silly and don't make any sense. I don't like those ones."
He paused and realized that he ought to probably introduce himself to the Prefect. " I'm Simon."
