Behind a large, gilded, and beautifully restored mirror on the fourth floor is a secret passageway. Unfortunately it doesn't lead anywhere because of a cave in, but if one could get the mirror off the wall, one could find a neat hiding place...

Oddly enough, the mirror always reflects a scene of handsome chandeliers, elegant landscape oil paintings, and golden draperies, which is not at all the corridor opposite it.

Mitchell was busy checking out all there was to see. There was so much of it too. This gigantic castle seemed to go on forever. He backtracked down a hall after a glint caught his eye.

He walked down the hall. That was a mirror. He turned around. Then back at the mirror. Then down the hall again. Something wasn't right here.

"Yeah." he said turning his attention back to the mirror. He was only going to look at the mirror now. Yup. He was a little bit insulted that she'd ignored his hand earlier. "I was actually thinking that..." he said resting a hand on the mirror. He then leaned an ear against it and knocked. Just out of curiosity.

And she went right back to glaring. "It wasn't funny. Girls can be self conscious about that stuff." Fake!sniffle.

Marigold turned her attention back to the mirror. When she had hit it, it had made a thunk, like it was hollow, or didn't have a wall behind it...

She stepped forward and banged hard on it, hearing the same hollow sound. Then she tried shifting the frame.

"You're fine. You don't need to be self conscious." he said with a playful little nudge. She should know by now that they were friends and he reallllly liked teasing her. It was fun. Especially when she got all... huffy.

He took a step closer. "What are you looking for?"

He blinked a few times before moving in front of her. "Hey. Were you being serious? Because I'm sorry if I did actually offend you." He ran a hand through his hair. Hopefully she was fine. Mitchell did have a sister, so he knew how girls could get about things.

"Why? You think there's something behind it?" he asked leaning his head against the wall. He tried to see behind the frame, but no luck. He then tried moving the frame too.

Marigold grumpily took his hand up back to standing, but Mitchell didn't seem to notice or care. And once she looked at the wall, she didn't care either. "Why.... where.... what..." she said, stumbling through her words. "Where's... the wall?"

Mitchell sidestepped once he decided that there was nothing that was going to attack from the hole in the wall. He then looked over his shoulder at her. "What do you think it is?" Well... minus the obvious. It was a hole in the wall. Possibly a passageway? It didn't look big enough for that though.

"You know, if they were trying to hide something, they shouldn't have used this mirror. It sticks out pretty good."

Climbing inside was easier than she thought. Even with being short, by grabbing onto Mitch's shoulder, she could boost herself up and climb inside. It was cool, and there was a bit of rubble on the ground. She climbed in a bit farther on all fours to the back of the small space.

Mitchell watched as she ducked into the small space. The New Yorker started to get weird feelings. The worrying kind. Like... if it caved in once, what would stop if from caving in again? Was the air in there safe? Stale air was dangerous, right? He vaguely remembered that. Something about the air in an old tomb in Egypt?

Of course, the tomb could have actually been cursed.

What were the chances of this hole being cursed? Goldie should get out of there. You know, just in case.

"Of course you'll fit! Your," Cough, "muscles don't take up THAT much space. Plus, I'm small." Why? Did he NOT want to snuggle up with her, wink wink?

"What, does New York not have secret passages? Are Americans just not brave? Why are you in Gryffindor anyway?" Heh.

Mitchell smirked. She just said that right? Yup. She did. He moved to sit on the edge. "There's loads of secret spaces in New York." he said. "Most are smelly and dangerous though." Which was why he was cautious. This one seemed relatively fine though.

"Dunno. The hat thing just said that and I walked away. I didn't exactly have a conversation."

Marigold eyed him, even though she diiiiid technically invite him over here. It was cold. Could she borrow his shoes? Not wearing shoes was APPARENTLY both a blessing and a curse. Gah. "Well, this one is dangerous. It could cave in. And it does smell in here. Oh wait, is that just you?" Yeah, she was TOTALLY bluffing. He smelled good, like cinnamon and trees. Gah.

And HAHAHHA. "That's hilarious!!! Don't you just LOVE the hat?" she asked giggling. And then she snorted. HAHA.

He took a deep breath. "Oh. You know. Just chillin' in a hole in the wall. You?"
