The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The entrance to the common room is the portrait of the delightful Fat Lady, and in order to gain entrance to their home away from home, Lions must know the password and speak it to her.
This terms password is ‘Humbugs’.
Be sure to remember those words...and keep it a close secret, for it's the current password you'll need to speak in order for the Fat Lady to swing away from the hole and allow you to enter Gryffindor Tower. Once you're lucky enough to scramble through, you'll find that the common room is a circular area full of squashy armchairs and tables. To the side of the common room you will find the study tables and bookshelves which are equipped with the resources and materials required to complete any homework assignments. Fixed to the wall by the windows you will find the noticeboard for classes and other school announcements.
A window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up one side of the wall. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes. If however you are in need of a nap a good night's rest then there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys dormitories are upstairs and to the right, while girls dormitories are upstairs and to the left. Be sure you don’t go breaking any of the rules by attempting to go up the wrong staircases. Boys don’t stand a chance of beating the enchanted staircase, and frankly girls should know better.
For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home. There's bound to be a perfect or your Head of House lurking in the shadows.

Bay was so happy that he was finally here. "so great to be out of the house" he thought while bringing his tired body and full belly over to the first arm chair he saw. He sat down hard on the chair and took out Ziggy, he was squeaking quietly. He placed his blue furry pet on the arm of the chair while resting his head on the back. He closed his eyes just to rest them and with out opening them he spoke to Ziggy "Don't go running off again okay" the last few words were kind of slurred.. soon enough his breathing depend and quite snores came from him.

Tessa had walked with Bay into the Common Room. However, soon after entering, they had separated so that she could look around. When she finally turned to locate her friend, she found him snoring softly in a chair.
"Bay, I'm sure they have beds for sleeping," she teasing, coming over to ruffle the younger student's hair. "Come on, wake up- otherwise I'll persuade Ziggy to tickle you," she taunted, glancing at the blue pygmy puff. There were other methods of waking him up and keeping him awake- but she didn't want to employ them... yet.

Christmas entered the common room after saying the password and smiled she was home for another year and she was still trying to decide which professional team to play for she had a few offers to think over and she knew that some teams were coming to watch her play that is if she made the house team

After saying the password to the portrait of a rather fat lady out side, Kevin crawled through the space until he set his first step in the Gryffindor Common Room. His house for the next seven years. He looked around at the comfortable looking furniture, the fire place as well as the two staircases that seemed to go up to the dormitories. Knowing that his stuff were already there because his parents had told him where his Luggage went till he was out of the train.
He wasn't tired yet, the excitment of today was too much and the first year sat down on one of the red chairs near the fireplace. His pet rat named Templeton that he had adopted at the fair was placed on his shoulder and it seemed to be sleeping at the moment. His two different eye colors looked around the place in search of someone to annoy...eeeh...talk to.

"It has! But, this is your first look at our new Common Room! You can sleep every other time you come in here," she told him, looking around once more. "It is, I love these fire places," she agreed, holding her hands up to the warmth.

"Hello there," Tessa called to a younger student that had settled down near them. "New here as well?" she asked, tilting her head to one side with the question. She was used to being the transfer student- but even after the first day, she felt like she was starting to settle in.

Kevin had been secretly watching the interaction between the two students as one of them was trying to sleep on one of the couches and the other trying to wake him up. Kevin narrowed his eyes a little bit when the girl laughed. He didn't like it when people laughed and he didn't know if they laughed at him or when they laughed and he didn't know what was so funny. Ignoring it for now, the first year listened at her story. A transfer student eh? He should have known that.
"Which school were you kicked out off?" he asked. He doubted if she had been kicked out but if she were then he was going to laugh so hard....pleeeease let her been kicked out! "Mweh, kinda" he shrugged his shoulders. YES! HE WAS TOTALLY EXCITED! "I've already heard stories of my parents so i know some things already" not everything though. The new Gryffindor looked around. "They didn't tell me the common room was in the tower though" and then for the most important question in the universe "WHY?!" 'Cause he didn't like Climbing staircases. She hid a smile, seeing the boy's pent up energy in his eyes. SHe couldn't blame him- she remembered her first year. Practicing magic, and actually playing on a Quidditch team- she had been infatuated. "Well, that's nice that you have some info- anything I should know?" she asked with a grin. At his last comment, she tilted her head in question. "Not a fan of heights?" she asked with a smile.

Tessa glanced between Christmas and Bay, raising her eyebrows- but decided not to question it for now. "I think that's something we can arrange," she said thoughtfully. She thought she may have packed some in her luggage- but she bet the House elves would have some in the kitchen. "Do you want to do that now?" she asked with a grin.

Kevin flashed his eyes to the older guy in the room. The one who had nearly fallen asleep on the couch earlier before transfer student had woken him up. "I'm not little, Gigantor" Why was he calling every guy who was older and longer than him that? It was starting to become a habit now.... "But okay i guess" He shrugged his shoulders again and then leaned back in the comfortable chair. Was he supposed to ask something back? like an 'what about you?' But before he could think of anything another girl came to sit next to the guy and he snorted. "Christmas? is your name REALLY Christmas?" he laughed.
Taking a calming breath, Kevin turned his attention back to Transfer Student and folded his arms over each other. "Sorry, classified information" Because what if he said something wrong about the school and they were going to laugh at him? Again...he hated laughing. Not when he did it, his laugh was amazing but when OTHERS laughed at him ...yeah, not a fan.
Her last question made him cock his head to the right, an confused expression on his face. Afraid of height? No he wasn't afraid of height! "No i'm not" he shook his head. "I just don't like having to climb all these staircases all the time, are there any short cuts to the common room?" but then he remembered she was new here as well and let out a long sigh.

Christmas stared at the younger boy and said "I don't think my name is that funny i may be named after a holiday but my name is unusual, i would like to think that you have a normal name"
Christmas smiled at Bay and said "The feast was fine for me i was glad to get some food now i can't wait to get some sleep and get ready to explore the castle and the grounds"

Tessa nodded, keeping her expression serious. She could see what the kid was doing, and she could understand why. "Well, I haven't heard a lot yet, but I'm hoping to talk to some of the students who have been here awhile and get some insider tips about the castle," she said with a grin.
"Ah, that makes sense- there are a lot of stairs," she said with a nod. "It wouldn't be fun to run from the first floor to the common room," she added, shaking her head. She hoped her schedule didn't have anything like that. She shook her head. "No idea- but I'm sure we'll find something," she assured him.

"Do you spoil Ziggy?" she asked, smothering a laugh. She could understand that- pets needed love. She looked around and shrugged. "I don't see why not- it's not time to head to bed, and no one is at the fire place," she pointed out. "Be right back."
A few minutes later, she had returned with a bag of marshmellows. "Ready?" she asked, taking one out and tapping it with her wand. The marshmellow slowly raised up and then moved over to the fire to start cooking.
"Christmas, would you like one?" she asked, leaning over to look at their friend, and offering her the bag.

Password given, Ben was allowed access into the common room as the Fat Lady's portrait obediantly moved in response. So he walked the passageway into his home away from home for the school term. The second year had to admit that he hadn't realized how much he missed it until he was within the homey space after his first summer away. When had it so grown upon him?
He debated heading right up to bed, but opted to hang out in the common room for a bit as the rush from the feast and being back hadn't yet diminished. And it seemed he wasn't the only on as Ben spotted a few fellow Gryffindors lingering in the room. So he found a free spot and took a seat to relax for the moment.

Kevin stared back at the girl named Christmas while he leaned back in the chair. "Come on! You have to admit its a little bit funny" he laughed as he looked from her to the guy next to her but upon seeing the stare he gave him he knew he had been out of line. Mweh whatever. Did this house even HAVE a sense of humor? "Touchι" he grinned at her remark of him having a normal name. He hadn't introduced himself yet but that didn't mean she couldn't have heard of him.
"I'm Kevin...or Kenji which is my real name, whichever you like" he didn't smile though but merely nodded his head. "Sorry if i offended you, Christmas" though his voice wasn't the slightest sorry.

"Well, if you come across a secret passage way or a hidden door, let me know" He said as he stood up, making sure that Templeton his rat was still on his shoulder as he did so. "I want to explore it as well" He walked away from couches and to the staircases. "I'm going to bed, long day" he announced to the people in the room and then turned and........
......stood still for a good five seconds before turning around to face them all. "So...which way is the boys dormitory?" DO NOT MAKE FUN OF HIM!

Password given, Ben was allowed access into the common room as the Fat Lady's portrait obediantly moved in response. So he walked the passageway into his home away from home for the school term. The second year had to admit that he hadn't realized how much he missed it until he was within the homey space after his first summer away. When had it so grown upon him?
He debated heading right up to bed, but opted to hang out in the common room for a bit as the rush from the feast and being back hadn't yet diminished. And it seemed he wasn't the only on as Ben spotted a few fellow Gryffindors lingering in the room. So he found a free spot and took a seat to relax for the moment.
Bouncing into the common room Bart looked around and saw a bunch of his fellow house mates. Well pretty wasn't there and neither was bra girl so he was safe for now. Though if pretty was there he wouldn't mind it so much, but he still wasn't sure which house bra girl was in. Maybe it wasn't his house.
"Hey all"
That was his greeting whomever wanted it could have it. Popping a suar quill in his mouth he flopped onto a chair throwing his legs up over the side. That's when he saw the boy he had talked to at the table, "Sup"

Mackenzie stepped through the portrait hole. home she had missed this place more than she had thought. Her eyes filled with tears as she looked around the common room. And thought of everything that she had missed and the people she had missed. She had missed an entire year of Quidditch, she didn't even know who had one the house cup. She looked at her fellow Gryffindor's and really didn't recognize any of them. She almost began to wonder if any of them recognized her. Or if maybe this really was just a dream.

Was there a unique smell to the place? Was it the warm fire that usually resided in the fireplaces during the evenings sending welcoming heat to the stone room. The second year didn't know, his head loling back on the chair until Ben looked up at the universal greeting someone was giving to the room, spotting the boy he had met at the feast. The one that had first mistaken him for being someone else from Slytherin.
"Nothing much...besides the time." The hour and minute hands been traveling further up the clockface since starting out downstairs. Nothing else had changed since the last time they had seen each other. "Anything up with you?"

Raising his head to see his companion better as the other boy sat down himself, Benjamin watched and listened as Bart provided his answer. It seemed he had been busy, already out and about exploring the dungeons. "Sounds like fun," he answered himself, not sure of any plans himself. Besides classes that was and their schedules would arrive the next morning at breakfast.
At the questionposed himself, Ben was a tad confused. Bart said he was a second year yet asking about how the school was. Oh...he was a transfer. That was the only thing that made sense, not that it mattered much to him. "Nah...the quiet will only be temporary," he responded, thinking on his first year. Granted he had but one year to draw from in memory but that was enough when coupled with the occasional thing he might have overheard in the recollections of others.
