Ancient Runes.

Ella was pleased about this particular lesson for many reasons, the biggest being the chance to get to see Botros. She looked up to him, that was for sure. Why wouldn't you, right? The guy was brilliant and kind and smart. Just...really smart. Hogwarts was lucky to have him for sure.

The eighteen year old's smile widened considerably when she spotted the older man and she headed towards him, a slight spring in her step. "Hello, Professor!" Happy Ella was happy, did he know? "Hope you had a good summer!" And that it was filled with lots of adventures because great people deserved that kind of Summer.

Oh, and there was her name! The badger wandered over to the desk and touched the tag with her finger gently before sitting down. Book and parchment and quill were arranged neatly on her desk next. Then, after placing her bag on the floor and sliding it out of the way with her foot, she sat back and waited for class to begin.

Lux was not sure how much she was looking forward to Ancient Runes class, since it seemed very confusing to her and something she would do bad at. But she was here to learn, and she was going to try her best! Spotting the Professor at the doorway, she smiled to him and said, "hello, Professor. I'm Lux!"

Heading inside the classroom, she noticed that some of the desks had filled out name tags on them, while others had blank ones. Finding a spot with a blank tag in the center of the room, she took her seat and after reading the instructions on the board, proceeded to make her name tag:

Alright Ancient Runes!!! Lex was so ready for this class, like she usually was. As the Professor had helped her understand, it wasn't only about reading boring books and watching symbols she'd never hope to understand...though in all fairness she was getting better at rune recognition. It must have come naturally with all the practical usage. Merlin knew reading never got her anywhere.

"Hello Professor." Lex said, walking up to the old man with a grin. Glancing by him and into the classroom she could see what was written and wasn't in all that much of a hurry either.

"You're choosing our seats this year?" ...Yeah...there was some problems that came with that. Lex tried liking everyone, she did, but we all knew it wasn't possible and well...she chose her seats with solid reasoning behind them. What if her name happened to end up near someone she'd deemed hopeless and absolutely irksome?? "Are we allowed to switch?"

Sander managed to find his way to the Ancient Runes classroom and noticed a elderly yet wizenend gentleman standing just outside the classroom. Knowing that there were no students above the age of 18 in Hogwarts, he came to the conclusion that this was his Ancient Runes Professor.

Sander walked up to greet him," Hello Professor. It's a great day isn't it." Sander smiled in greeting. He was going to introduce himself being new and all but then he happened to glance into the classroom and noticed what was written on the blackboard.

'Okay that makes it easier.' Sander thought to himself and he walked in and picked a desk in the second row. He picked up the name tag he noticed lying on his desk, took out his quill, and began writing on it.



Then he tapped it with his wand and from a regular name tag he transformed it into a desk name tag, which he then placed his name facing forwards facing the front of the classroom. Once that was done he looked around for Tessa.

Marigold squirmed a bit before entering the classroom. Yeah, Ancient Runes was interesting enough, buuuut... she just REALLY didn't understand it. Like, at all. Which wasn't bad considering what she wanted to be when she grew up, buuuut... when she wanted twelve OWLS, yeah it was bad.

But this year was going to be better, yeah? She waved at Ella and wondered if maybe she could tutor Marigold in thtis class... yes? no? Well, whatever, maybe she could pretend to be a first year and not take this OWL until seventh year.

"Hi Professor," because she was polite and didn't want him to dislike her because of her general failure in his classes.

Aaaand there was her nametag. Hi desk.

Ancient Runes! Tag's favorite class. So of course he tried to arrive as early as possible to this class. Bounding into the room the boy slowed down his speed of walking when he reached the classroom. And Professor Botros was there.

Tag gave him a huge smile and said, "Hello Professor!" in greeting, adding on a cheesy smile, before walking into the classroom. It looked just like it had always, only seating arrangements were slightly different this time. Some of the older students already had name tags on the desks. The Gryffindor went through the desks and found the one with his name and took his seat. Waiting for class to start.

Of course Tobias was looking forward to today. He looked forward to every day, but this one was extra special. Because it was Ancient Runes and Professor Botros. And now he was 14 years old and the last time he'd seen Botros OR had an Ancient Runes class he'd been 13. So he'd be wiser and everything.

The Hufflepuff arrived at the classroom and beamed at Professor Botros, who was stood outside the Ancient Runes classroom just the same as every other lesson he'd had with the man.

"Hi Professor Botros!" Toby greeted the man, before going on enthusiastically. "I'm really looking forward to this lesson."

And it was true. He loved it. Had probably read the textbook at least three times, after all.

The Hufflepuff looked up and down the corridor for a moment, trying to see if Cutty was anywhere around. He really hoped that the Slytherin would make an appearance today. As things were now, no Cutty Mordaunt. But that was okay; Tobias was still quite early. He looked back at Botros again and smiled at the man before heading into the classroom.

Once inside, Tobias read the instructions on the board and immediately set about looking for his desk. He vaguely remembered where he was sat, it was just a matter of the exact location. Ah! There it was!

The third year went and sat down at his desk, pulling out his textbook and parchment, quills and ink, before stowing his bag under his desk. Ready to learn.

Oh look, there was Ella! Tobias grinned and tried to catch his pseudo!sister's eye before the room got too full, and gave her a wave. Hiiiiiii Head Girl.

Ancient Runes. A class that Brad found interesting, at times anyway. When it involved going over the history behind them. Asking him to carve and/or pronounce them, however, was just asking for disaster. Which is why he was glad when he read the noticeboard to see that it said that this class would just be a review. Those classes tended to at least not have carving.

As he stepped into the classroom, he noticed the professor standing outside. At least, he assumed he was the professor. Why else would he be standing there? "Good morning, professor," he said politely before entering the class and choosing an empty seat. Reading the instructions on the board, he quickly filled out the name tag and situated it on the desk.

There, ready.

Tessa walked into Ancient Runes, trying to keep her resentment off her face. She was sure the topic was interesting, but after all the other classes she'd had that day, she was reaching her limits. ONe more class wouldn't hurt, she told herself.

SHe glanced at the blackboard, and nodded when she saw the instructions on the board. Easy enough. "Hello Professor," she said with a warm smile, and walked past him into the classroom.



Tessa first saw Lux sitting at the center of the room. She gave the girl a small wave and walked in her direction, however, another person also caught her eye...



Sander! She smiled as she saw him looking around, and couldn't help but wonder what he was looking for. She shrugged that thought off and sat at the seat right next to him, which was also right in front of Lux. She shot the younger girl a wink before turning to the boy. "Long time no see," she teased as she set up her things. She brought the name tag toward her and quickly wrote out her name:

Giving it a tap with her wand, she attached it to her desk. Okay, the quicker the class started, the quicker she could go outside!

Ancient Runes! One of Adi's favourite subject! "Professor! Professor!'' he said excitedly when he got to the room. He liked this kindly, old dude. "Hi! It's great to see you again. Hope you had a great summer.'' He grinned and shuffled off looking for his seat, highly anticipating the lesson. Now where was his seat?

He stood motionless until he spotted his tag. Hey look! His seat was right next to Sander. Adi made his way over. "Hi, Sander!'' he greeted as he plopped down in his seat. "What's up?''

Ancient Runes seemed interesting enough to Haruka. She'd studied them slightly on her own once out of curiosity after reading a muggle book that had them in it. She walked up to the professor and smiled kindly. "Hello Professor, I'm Haruka Kaze. It's nice to meet you."

Haruka entered the classroom and, following the instructions on the blackboard, found a blank nametag and wrote her name and year:



She tapped the nametag with her wand and watched it turn into a desk nametag, which she placed facing out in front of her.

Seeing Tessa coming towards her, Lux waved at her friend and was glad she was going to have someone sit beside her. But then Tessa spotted Sander and sat beside him instead. Oh. Lux frowned slightly. At least Tessa was sitting in front of her, she supposed.

Assigned seating? Mo gave Botros a quizzical look as he entered the room, although he obediently made his way to the seat with his name tag on it. Lookit that. SIXTH YEAR. Merlin, he was practically a seventh year, and then he'd be king of the school proper.

"Hullo, Professor. Did you and Feo have a good summer?" Mo grinned at Ab-Bot from his seat, noting with pleasure that in addition to it saying 'Sixth Year', it also said 'Marco Polo Branxton'. Still. Hehehe.

Assigned seats!?

Botros was getting just as bad as Bellaire! Well, not as bad as Bellaire. That woman made them stand up for almost ever before they were allowed to sit. All this guy was doing was choosing their seats for them. Not that it really matter where she sat, the further away from people the better. But it was just the fact that he was telling them what to do. Pfft. Adults. Always doing that.

And speaking of the oldest adult, Rhodes gave him a feeble wave of her hand as she made her way passed him. "Hi, Professor." Was this seating arrangement in alphabetical order?

Did that have something to do with the lesson?

Why were the chairs so uncomfortable?

Well this was new. Nigel had an assigned seat. Never had this before. Now the fun part of finding his assigned seat. "Hello, Professor Botros"

It was not that hard to find his seat. Just annoying. But it was weird seeing his name associated with Sixth Year. Had he been in this school six years already. Merlin. Well might as well take his seat.

*Walking in Romulus gave a small wave to the professor then went looking for his seat. Finally finding the seat that had a name card that matched his name he sat down. Looking around he saw that he wasn't to far away from Rhodes. He gave her a short wave then pulled out his textbook.*

Ancient Runes was up next. With several books in her arms, Bev made her way to the classroom. She hadn't expected the professor to be standing outside the classroom, nor did she expect him to look like a cuddly grandfather either. Having not experienced the connection with one -- 'cause hers was dead and all -- for a moment Bev considered adopting him. But that was silly. You couldn't adopt older folk.

She nodded politely with a shy "Hello," ducked her head and entered the classroom.

It was fairly simple, a great learning environment. Too much decorations sometimes distracted her from her tasks. She then proceeded toward a desk at the front that was empty. A graduate's previous desk, perhaps? It didn't matter. It was hers now.

She branded it by writing her name on the name tag and tapping it with her wand.

Hope walked into the room and looked around. Very peculiar, this setup. She shrugged and gave a bright smile. "Hello, Professor. I'm Hope." No need to go shouting out last names right? As much fun as it is to be referred to as Ms. Evans, she wasn't okay with that. It just didn't sit right. She chose an open seat which was neither in the front nor the back. Not exactly in the middle either. It was just a seat. She took a look at the board and grabbed the empty name tag.



She gave it a quick tap and watched as it transformed into something that sort of looked like a desk name tag, but at the same not a desk name tag. It was kind of...disfigured in some way. She shrugged again and just left it to sit there. If the Professor, or anyone else for that matter, did not like it, she honestly couldn't care less.

Tessa heard a familiar voice and turned to see the boy she had helped in Transfiguration and worked with in Potions walk in. What was his name? Oh right... "Hello Adi!" she said with a grin to the boy.

Tessa glanced back and saw Lux's frown. "What's with that face, Cucumber?" she asked, turning around in her seat and after folding her arms, leaned her head on them. "I'd much rather see you smile!" she said, reaching out and tapping the younger girl's nose.

Ancient Runes! Was Alec ready for this class? YEAH. And he had had a good, hearty breakfast, courtesy of this lesson.

Spotting the professor standing just outside the classroom only made the grin on Alec's face widen. He wasn't late, right? A quick glance at his watch told him no. Nevertheless, the boy readjusted his grip on his bag before quickening his pace a little. Not late. He wasn't going to be late for this lesson. He probably wasn't the first one heading in since... others had been heading in this general direction before him. That's what he was assuming.

"Hey Professor! Hope you had a great summer!" He got a grin and a nod before the seventh year slipped past him and into the classroom. Glancing around, the room looked the same as ever. His blue eyes landed on nothing... different. Except for the writing on the board, which he scanned over. They had been given seats to sit at?

And hey! Nametags? Spotting his, Alec headed straight towards it and sat down. Seventh year. It had already been updated. The boy reached into his bag and set out his things on the desk before letting it drop onto the floor under his desk. There. He was ready.

Desks. And it looked like they were allowed to sit down whenever they got to the class. Gwen nabbed a desk with a blank tag on it. They were really supposed to write their names on a desk tag? Did this mean they were going to have assigned seats? Because that was so third grade. Regardless she grabbed her pen. Quill writing was still so new to her, and though she practiced when not in class, her writing wasn't legible enough for her to feel comfortable with it yet.

They weren't supposed to put their house? From all Gwen had seen House Pride was huge, and kids advertised their Houses everywhere, clothes, backpacks, talking...But apparently not in Ancient Runes. She tapped the tag and it changed into a desk name tag. There.

Botros! He was a favorite.

Of course, Alice arrived right on time, if not a couple minutes early. This professor was one she held utmost respect and liking for, so there was no reason to drag. "Hi, Mister Ab." 'Cause class wasn't in session yet, so she could call him that, right? "Your glasses look especially shiny today. How was your summer? Did you enjoy Egypt? Gramps says hi."

She gave him another cheery smile before finally shutting up and making her way to her regular seat, one right up front near the dais. Adjusting her name tag a bit before dropping her bag by her desk, the seventh year pulled out her textbook and some parchment. All ready for class, sir.

Ancient Runes. This class was always interesting to Kace. Even though he was weak in it, he always gave it a shot. As he approached the classroom, he noticed more students were in the room. He smiled and then saw the professor in the front. "Hey Professor! Hope you had a great summer."

Then he went around the classroom and looked for his name tag. He smiled when he found it. He sat down and took out his notebook and then began to doodle. Maybe his doodle book might give him extra credit in lessons one day by the looks of it.

Ancient Runes. It must mean it was a new day and that meant a new lesson. The days and the lessons were all starting to go into full swing and Lana was getting back into the regular routine of the term. The thought of it being the last term she would be there hadn’t completely set in and she treated this day like any other.

Approaching the classroom, she noticed Professor Botros outside and stood up a bit straighter. It was never a good thing to slouch and she didn’t want to give the impression that she didn’t want to be there. No, she wanted to put her best foot forward at all times. ”Hello, Professor.” she smiled as she passed by before setting foot inside the classroom.

Now that was a bit different. Assigned seats? She wasn’t sure how she felt about the change, but shrugged it off as she went looking for her name. Perhaps the seating would be more conducive for her own studies. A part of her did hope that once she did find her name, she wouldn’t find it beside her own sister’s name. In the grand scheme of things, it was so much easier to focus when they were apart.

Finding her name, she smiled as she began to set out all her needed supplies atop the desk before sliding into the seat and placing her bag at her feet.
