Despite the apparent eternal loss of Pebbles, Airey was somewhat back to his usual cheery self - mostly in thanks to him no longer having any limbs covered with feather - and had been up at the crack of dawn obsessively lint rolling his office. He tended to do this when he was depressed, only he would not admit that because he was NOT depressed. Just in denial.

Hearing a knock at the door, Airey ceased his lint rolling of the floor, got off his hands and knees, and went to the door. "Oh, good morning, Miss Wisteria," he greeted. "Lovely to see you! Come in."

How about up a MOVING staircase?

How about from the Hufflepuff common room in the kitchen level all the way up to the Astronomy tower whilst having to contend with the huuuuuuge moving staircase AND trying not to fall to accidentally pogo over the edge AND avoiding the stricter teachers just in case there was a 'no pogo' rule?

Well... Toby didn't either, until now. And boy it was DIFFICULT.

Still, flat surfaces were way easier and Tobias was gleefully bouncing along to the Astronomy professor's office. When he reached it, Toby was about to bounce OFF of the pogo stick and knock and wait and all that. However, the boy had a habit of doing 360 turns when he entered a room he'd never been in before, just to check them out, you know? WELL, he bounced in a circle to get a good look of the waiting area, when he caught sight of the posters.

Airey had resorted to reorganizing his ties today. Until now they had been in order based on the material of tie had been made from first and then the color, but it just felt more practical to organized them alphabetically based on color - solid colors first and then any ties with a print of that same color. He was currently holding two ties in shades of slightly different colors of red (one being dark red and the other being maroon) and was trying to sort out which he wanted to put next to his rosewood colored ties when........what was THAT sound?

Not that he was not accustomed to odd sounds at Hogwarts and surely whatever the noise was outside was not a dementor - they rattled and made it cold and he was certainly NOT cold - but one could never be too careful with strange noises and MAYBE the dementors had evolved! The ones last term certainly seemed to be.

While the Groundskeeper position was said to be the cursed one, there was still something out to get Astronomy professors too! So, ties stuffed in either one of his pants' pockets for now, Airey pulled out his wand and crept towards the door like a suited ninja, took a deeeeep breath, and then FLUNG open the door with his wand pointed at the source of the noise.

"Expecto Patronum!" he shouted, casting his silvery roadrunner without a moment of hesitation.

TAKE THAT DEMENTOR!

So from what Tobias had gathered from the many many many many many posters was that there was a... well... he wasn't sure what it was but it looked like maybe a cross between a puppy and a rock. And this PuppyRock, named Pebbles, was MISSING.

The boy was just dwelling on that and making plans to start a search party when he heard the unmistakeable sounds of a door opening. Though in the split second it took him to register that and start to make a 180 degree turn in mid-air to face the door, he heard a loud shout and then there was LIGHT.

Now Toby was all for finding the bright side but this was ridiculous.

EEEEPing in surprise, Tobias' pogo stick hit the floor at a slight off angle thanks to his surprised flail, sending him flying off to one side, the patronus grazing past him as he did so. The pogo stick went clattering to the ground.

TOBIAS meanwhile FLAILED through the air, slightly giddy and quite disoriented. As luck would have it he landed, sitting sideways with his legs dangling over the arm, with an 'OOF' in one of the comfy sofa chairs a good couple of metres away.

For a moment, Tobias blinked in shock, and then he erupted into a fit of near-hysterical giggles. That had EASILY been the FUNNIEST thing in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD. Maybe the quite literal close brush with the patronus had given Tobias' already cheery disposition a major BOOST, given that patronuses were made of happy energy and all... BUT HE WASN'T THINKING ABOUT THAT.

It had taken Airey all of a Vulcan second to realize that there was no dementor outside his office. Not even a feline or a prank of Medea's. Nope. What he DID find was a student, Mr. Tempus, and the astronomer had just sent a patronus at the boy. Oh sweet solstice what a way to start off the term - as if transfiguring his foot into a feathered covered mess hadn't been enough.

Eyes as big as flying saucers, Airey opened his mouth to...scream? Yell stop? He wasn't quite sure what it was he had wanted to do because all logical thought processes went rocketing right into orbit when he saw the way the boy had just been flung practically across his waiting area. If that had been Sticky Nicky or even LeoBALD he probably would have laughed, but not a student and especially not a Hufflepuff student. He knew how, erm, delicate those could be. Only thing that could have made him panic more would have been if Mr. Tempus were a random red shirt Gryffindor. There was a reason for that rule after all.

"Blazing comets! Are you alright Mr. Tempus?!" he finally managed to manly squeak out when the boy just started laughing. The boy's Head of House would destroy him if the astronomer had just caused the boy serious brain damage.

...maybe he needed to rethink his lesson's activity?

He HAD seen the strange object that the Hufflepuff had with him, but his scientist's curiosity had been pushed to the side for the concerned professor to take over.

At some point, Tobias' laughter has brought tears to his eyes. It hadn't really taken long. SO it didn't take too long for the giggling to start to subside.

Even the Astronomy professor's manly squeak was almost enough to set him off again, but Tobias managed to get a hold of himself. He wiped at each eye, occasionally giving a tiny random giggle. "I am SOOOOO alright," Tobias grinned, giving a last little 'hehe' before he climbed out of the comfy chair and over to his pogo stick, MASSIVE grin on his face. It wasn't going anywhere, Tobias knew that.

The Hufflepuff picked up the bouncy contraption from where it had fallen to the floor and quickly scanned it for damage, but all seemed fine. He turned to the professor.

"That was so awesome, Professor Starman! How did you know I'd end up in the comfy chair?!" Some kind of clever sorcery, mayhaps? Probably, given the establishment they were in.

Airey had temporarily forgotten to breathe, which is why he suddenly gasped and gulped for air like a trout when Hufflepuff's Peter Pan spoke again. Oh thank Newton the boy was fine. Or at least said he was fine. Maybe he should send a patronus to Cece an have her look at him just to be safe. Then again, he didn't really fancy the Healer showing up here giving him more 'if looks could kill' glances. Had had plenty of those at the opening feast, thank you.

"Oh, well, stellar," he said before rubbing the back of his neck anxiously. And the boy was giving him more credit than he deserved, but he wasn't about to go telling his student that he had mistaken him for a dementor. So it was just smiles and nods for now. "How about you bring that device into my office and we can more important matters. Your timing is actually quite perfect as there is something I wish to ask you."

Heavily panting the third year old entered the waiting area and knocked breathless on the door from the professor. She knew why professor Flamsteed had his office so high in the castle besides his classroom, but she still didn't liked it to use ALL the stairs up, it was really tiring! Hmm, she wondered if it was possible to learn a spell to fly without a broom of just to not get tired while using all the stairs up...

"Look Little princess and Sir Blue, if you are seeing this pet you need to warn me" said Sonea to her two rats while she took one of the missing posters and pointed at it to show it to her two rats.

Hmm, but she realized that even IF it was against the rules, she still would have carried her rats with her, just to have them with her and to ignore the rules.... she didn't liked rules, they were stupid so she didn't took them seriously or listened to them... Rules were ONLY here to break, and SHE was the one who wanted to break them!

But, that was not important at the moment... He was asking her a question and she needed to answer him, she WAS sitting before his office. So she stood up and smiled first at the professor and looked at her two rats so that they also greeted the professor, and yes, they both made a soft sound, but loud enough for the professor to hear it.

"Hello professor, we-" and she pointed at her two rats who were still sitting on her shoulder, -"were so sat to hear that you have lost you pet so we wanted to help you and to find it!" Her face darkened when she spoke, she KNEW how it was to lose a pet, she had almost lost her two rats during her previous year in the forbidden forest... She had been SOOOOOO worried and scared!

Airey squinted at the furry rodents. He thought that pets were supposed to stay within their owner's common rooms, but he was just grateful that the rodents were with the Slytherin and not near him. "Oh, that is very kind of you," he said as he stepped out of his office fully now, but didn't get much closer to her because....rats. "Are you doing an investigation of my seating area looking for clues then?" Or was she looking to inspect his office? He was pretty sure there would be no clues here or in his office since Pebbles had gone missing in the stands, but if it made the girl feel better looking he would let her.

Her smile widened when the professor asked her a question, unaware of his uneasiness about her rats. "Yes, i want to search for you sto... eh pet! But do you have something for me with a scent? My two rats can search for you pet if they have smelled something!" She sounded really serious, Little princess had once found her lost pink hair ribbon so she could try it again! And the hair ribbon had been VERY important, the ribbon had made her pretty!!!

"My rats are really smart, you know" said Sonea proud while she looked at her two rats.

With her scent? The Slytherin was really serious about finding Pebbles and it caused the astronomer to feel his heart strings pulled quite violently. Minus the whole rat thing. He could do without the search and rescue rats.

"I do, actually, in my office I still have her house and pillow," he nodded, not wanting to mention that it had been quite a long time since she had last slept on either of these and the scent would be faint if not gone completely. "Why don't you.................three come on in."

He was willingly allowing creatures into his office.

Derry was a little nervous about coming here, but she felt a whole lot better than she had in the last lesson, and she had to make up the lesson, right? Right. Plus she'd promised Professor Flamsteed some shortbread, so she had that too.

After climbing the unnecessary amount of stairs to the astronomy tower, Derry knocked on the door to Professor Glitter-Trousers' Flamsteed's office and sat down in the waiting area.

Adelaide made her way up to the Astronomy tower, plate full of hot fresh brownies in tow. She'd been bored and just needed to bake. So she did. She'd spent time making them from scratch and everything. Now to share them with people because as much as she loved sweets, there was no way she could eat all of them on her own.

First stop, of course, was Professor Flamsteed. It was right of her to share stuff with her favorite professor right? Then she could bring some back to the dorms for her dorm mates and such or go visit some other professors. She hadn't really decided yet. Adelaide arrived upstairs and knocked on the door. She took a seat in one of the chair, the smell of fresh baked brownies starting to fill the waiting area.

The Astronomy professor had been doing something out of the ordinary when he had heard the knock at the door. Instead of reading his usual science fiction novels or astronomy magazines while relaxing on his couch, he had been flipping through a muggle pet magazine. Specifically one that had a quiz towards the back that you took to see which pet best fit your personality. It was a lot of pressure though. Answering questions to see which critter was best suited for you. He didn't entirely see how a craving for meat as opposed to salad fit into things, but oooooooookay then.

Setting the magazine down on his desk, Airey walked to the door and instantly smelled something....delicious. And he was not let down when he saw that there was a student outside with brownies. "Miss Adams, hello." Stare some more at the brownies. "How can I help you?"

As Adelaide waited for Professor Flamsteed to open the door, she started to hum silently to herself. She'd been going crazy without constantly having her music on her all the time. She was slowly starting to get used to it though. She looked up at the door as she heard it begin to open.

She smiled at Professor Flamsteed. "Hello Professor." Best to be formal right? Even if he seemed like a not formal all the time kind of guy. Didn't need to be getting in any trouble. Adelaide bit back at giggle as she noticed him staring at the plateful of brownies. "I've just been baking down in the kitchen and wanted to know if you wanted a brownie. I made them from scratch and just took them out of the oven not that long ago." Meaning they were still warm and gooey.

Airey chuckled at her confidence. Very Slytherin, wasn't it? Although Gryffindors were also known for their overconfidence - which is why his grandfather was a Slytherin and his father a hatstall between Slytherin and Gryffindor, so said his mother.

That also meant he could take one, yes? Because he already had and was about to take a bite into it as she said she would like some tea. "Well, come on in then," he nodded as he paused and covered his mouth with one hand as he chewed. She didn't need to see chewed up brownie.

Vesper had questions...and because these questions included an open tower, she found herself padding down the way a bit to where Astronomy was usually held. Professor Flamsteed seemed like a reasonably fair man...Not that other professors didn't or weren't...Other professors just didn't teach in towers. THat was the key factor here.

Finally finding herself in his sitting area...or Ves assumed this was his sitting area...she knocked on the door.

Knock, knock, knock.

After knocking a few times, she moved towards his seats and took one.

Waiting wasn't too bad. She could wait...After all, the Ravenclaw did have her notebook with her...and her markers...and a clear mental picture of what she wanted her next sketch to be. So, even if the Professor didn't agree, this little trip wouldn't be a total loss...basically.

It was that time of the year, yeah? The time when Ascanius would trek up a ton of stairs WITHOUT looking down and hobble to Glitter Trouser's silly, little office. From there he would plop his bum down and start to play drums on Glitter Trouser's door. 'Cause, smirk, he could. Ahem.

Finally making it up the stairs after a slight panic attack on some moving staircases, he was there. It seemed he wasn't the only one though. Smirk, "Hey, gorgeous." Aka Vesper.

Fancy finding her here, yeah?

Anyway, he sat down in front of the door and started to tap on Flammy's office.

The astronomer had quite a bit on his mind, namely the advice he had received from Medea about possible pet choices for him and, if anyone were to go into his office right now and see the top of his desk, doing calculations and checking charts and figures to make sure that the date and time of his final lesson provided students with optimal viewing pleasure for a certain something.

He heard the first series of knocks on his door just as he was about to roll up one of the charts. Instead, he set it back down on his desk just as another series of knocks ensued. Sweet solstice, someone had tiny fists if they were knocking like that. Obviously not a quidditch player.

Swinging the door open, he was both surprised and not surprised to see Mr. Stark on the floor with drumsticks in hand. Seemed as though this was going to become an annual thing.

"Good day, Mr. Stark," he said with a nod towards the Slytherin boy and a small smirk on his face. Gossips rags weren't just for students you know. Heh. "And good day to you as well, Miss Bayliss. How can I help you?"

That was mostly directed towards the Ravenclaw, by the way. The professor had pretty much figured out why the Slytherin Casanova was here.
