Need to discuss your Divination essay? Have a problem to discuss with the Ravenclaw Head of House? Or perhaps you just want to chat? Despite the reason, before you can come into Professor Elwood's office, you need to be kind and wait for her permission to do so by knocking on the wooden door located in the small circular room below the trapdoor leading up to the Divination Classroom. Have a seat on the recently organized collection of items placed rather neatly against the wall--hopefully you'll get the stool and not the rusty-looking trunk. Professor Elwood will be out shortly.

OCC: After posting here, I will let you know before you can post in the office thread.

Sophie didn't want to be a suck-up. Really, she didn't. But, in the grand scheme of things, she knew it was important to have connections with the higher-ups for the future, like if she needed letters of recommendation or other official nice stuff said about her some day. Who better to connect with than Ravenclaw's own Head of House, then? She hadn't properly introduced herself yet, anyway, so that was due. It was important to make an impression and stand out.

Which was also why Sophie was chomping away on some Droobles as she gave a few sharp knocks on the wooden door to Elwood's office. She stepped to the side, took a seat on the single stool, and blew a few bright blue bubbles while she waited, giggling in sheer amusement to herself as one after another took flight around the circular seating area. All part of the plan.

Ok, so Tag didn't have to be here. But it was also good to get some help, know his Professor a bit better, and have a nice chat. Besides, this would be his hardest term so far thanks to those OWLS. So he'd need as much information and assistance that he could get. Also, he could try and get on Professor Elwood's good side, not that he had ever been a bad student towards her.

Remember, blondes have more fun. Yeah, Tag would bring that up somehow.

So, walking up towards the door Tag knocked upon it a couple of times and went to take a seat.

It had been an eventful morning that was for certain and Calista's first real order of business of the year as Head of House had gone by about as well as she had expected it to be. Passing out the class schedules to every Ravenclaw without knowing all of their names took some time but she hasn't recieved any complaints about going to the wrong place yet so fingers crossed.

The Divination Professor had closed herself up in her office working on plans for her first lesson later that week when she heard a knock on her door. Maybe she had thought too fast on the whole 'everyone go the right schedule' thing? Crossing the office, Elwood opened the door to find a set of bright blue bubbles floating around and a small girl sitting on the stool just to the right of the door. "Oh hello there dear." Callie said in greeting as she popped a bubble with her finger. "What can I help you with?" She leaned against the door lazily, wondering what it was she could do for the child.

Looking out with window day-dreaming was something Professor Elwood did every now and then and at the particular moment the door was knocked on, that's what she had been doing.

The blonde plopped down from her perch on the window sill and opened the door to find Tag, a Gryffindor she had had in class. "Hello Mr. Kildare, how are you today?"

Did he want to do a reading or something? She hadn't contacted the dead with anyone since Anastasia came to her a few terms ago.

There was a door opening! YAY! Tag immediately stood up, as if his bum had been zapped and smiled brightly at Professor Blondie!Elwood! "I'm excellent, Professor! Really excellent!" Too much excitement? She was a nice sight to look at and Tag did like her.

"I was just wondering if you were free to have a nice chat, and maybe help me out with things regarding O.W.L.S." He told her. If she didn't that would be fine.

Bubbllllllllles. She had blown enough, Sophie decided, and resorted to just chomping away merrily. When the door opened, the young Ravenclaw jumped to her feet and stood at attention, beaming when the professor popped one of the bubbles. She stuck a hand out in greeting, "Hi - I'm Sophie Mae Brown, a new first year Ravenclaw. D'you like the bubbles? I thought you might 'cause they're blue like for Ravenclaw and I heard you're Ravenclaw's new Head of House. I dunno who it was before, but people sound pretty excited about you, did you know?" Sophie commented very nonchalantly, and pressed right along with her spiel, "So I thought I should come properly meet our cool Head of House." Pause. "Y'know, I've wanted to be a Ravenclaw ever since I can remember. This is... kind of a dream come true for me." Despite her truthful words, Sophie shrugged. She just shrugged like it was no big deal. Feelings. Pfft. Whatever. Subject change.

"I'm not going to be taking your class until my third year, unfortunately, but I really look forward to it some day and I was wondering..." Sophie shuffled her feet a bit, trying to appear very sincere, "if maybe I could join your cool SNAC group? Even if I'm not taking your class yet? I mean, I'll understand if it's just for your students in your classes, but I thought it'd be a cool way to... y'know," she shrugged again, "maybe get a bit of an early start and get some experience with Divination and be part of something really cool? If I promised to try really hard?" Cue puppy eyes.

Merlin the boy was hyper.

"That's nice to hear, especially so early in the term." Meant promise for a hard working year hopefully. But she was sure he wouldn't work too hard and still have fun along the way.

A chat about O.W.L.'s, right that was one of her duties nowadays, right? Although he was a Gryffindor and technically Seren's duty. Maybe he meant more specifically for her subject? She would find out soon she guessed. "Oh I wouldn't mind at all Tag. Come on in and have a seat."

Could this little girl be any cuter? Calista was on the verge of glazing over as she watched the little girl with the bubbles around her go on and on in her little voice. But she didn't, she stayed attentive.

"Well it's nice to meet you Sophie, and thanks for the news that I've been a well-received Head of House." She had been a tad nervous taking over the job from Gemma but hopefully Miss Brown was right about the student's reception of her so far. "And I do like those bubbles. Is it Droobles gum?" She hadn't had some of that stuff in quite some time, but they sold it in Honeyduke's and she just may have to pick some up soon. It was an interesting candy. And she was a Ravenclaw fan before she even came to school. "How nice for you then that you were sorted in this House. Yes, the rule that some of the younger students had decided to continue abiding where they didn't take their extracurricular classes until their third year, was a fad that continued to happen she saw. "Well that's a shame, I would have loved to have you in class." But it seemed like the girl was still interested, kind of. "Oh you'd still want to join the Spreading the Noble Art Club? Of course you can, I'd encourage it actually." That's the whole point of it really, it was in the name even!

"No absolutely, what a great idea Miss Brown! Here I've got an--" she turned around mid-sentence and busied herself with papers on her desk, the door still open. After a second the Divination professor returned with a parchment which she handed the girl. "Here's an application for you. If you just want to fill it out and owl it to me, I'll be in touch with you soon about our first meeting and or assignment."

This was so exciting!

Oh, she knew it! "Yeah, it's Droobles! Want some?" Sophie pulled out her package of gum from deep in her robe pockets and extended it to her. "It's okay if you don't but what better way to spread some Ravenclaw cheer, y'know?" she suggested in jest.

...Oh. So she could be the Ravenclaw Head of House and not have been a Ravenclaw herself? That was strange. Sophie eyed the woman curiously, but was relieved to hear that the woman saw herself as Ravenclaw-worthy. "That's good. I thought I'd be a Ravenclaw, too, and here I am, so I'm sure that's where you'd be, too. Where did you go to school, then? Why not here?" Didn't every young witch and wizard know Hogwarts was the best of all time?

Oh. Oh ho ho. The professor thought it was a good idea! She was going to let her join! "Wicked," Sophie murmured, taking the application from Elwood and scrutinizing it. "Thanks for letting me do this. It'll be a cool way to see you around more." Pause. "As Head of House, do you think you'll ever stop by the common room to say hi? Or d'you think you'll try to keep your distance and not cross that weird line between being a teacher versus a friend?" Elwood knew the line she was referring to, certainly. But she seemed... to be the type that would blur the line and be both a teacher and friend and come hang out and be cool with her Ravenclaws.

Then she blurted an idea as it came to her, not waiting for Elwood's reply. "We should have a big Ravenclaw start-of-term hang-out party! Like where everyone comes to the common room at once and gets to hang out and get to know each other and you could be there, too, so we can get to know our leader! I mean, not every Ravenclaw is in the common room at any given point when I'm there, so I don't get to see and know everyone." And she WANTED to know everyone! She wanted to be friends with ALL of Ravenclaw house. All of 'em. Every single one. "I've heard Quidditch parties are fun and bring the house together but that's so far away. Like months, right? Don'tcha think it'd be cool to have us all gather together for the purpose of getting to know each other right from the beginning of the term and have some fun?"

"Are you sure?" She asked with a grin at the girl's offer of bubblegum. She hadn't had any of the magical kind in years. She would save it for later but she would definitely be thankful for the girl's sharing.

It was odd yes that she could be chosen as the Head of House for Ravenclaw but she was glad Anastasia had taken the chance on her. She thought she was Ravenclaw enough for the job anyways. "I attended the Salem Institute in Massachusetts back home in America. I grew up there and my parents wanted me to go to school close to home and my dad also went there." Callie said matter-of-factly. It had been a great school, not as historical or as long-lived as Hogwarts but still.

Sophie's excitement over still getting to join the Divination Club was heart-warming for the Divination professor. Hi door. Oh yes, hello to you. Ravenclaw Female Prefect here, wanting to speak with her new Head of House. Yep, yep.

Beezus ran her fingers through her hair before knocking gently on the wooden door twice. She hoped she didn't have to wait long but even so, she helped herself to a seat on the err....things - okay, that one looks like a stool - next to said door. And while she waited, began to fondle with the charms on her bracelet.

"'Course I'm sure," Sophie urged. Really. It wasn't a big deal. She had plenty of Droobles left, enough to last her a few more weeks, probably. She had done a good job of stocking up, by Max's suggestion. And her parents were probably grateful that they hadn't had to send her any sort of care packages just yet.

Ooooooooooooh. An American school. "That's cool," Sophie nodded a few times, "didja like it there? Which place is better, d'you think? Here or there? What's more fun? What's super different between them?" Considering her undeniable fascination with Hogwarts, Sophie was extremely interested in seeing how someone who had been to Hogwarts AND another school viewed them in comparison. Hogwarts HAD to be better, right? It was pretty legendary.

Sophie took a few steps toward Callie to peek inside the office, giving it a thorough look-over before deciding, "You could probably have a nice get-together here, too. It's cute in there," she noted, stepping back into the hall, poking her finger and popping a remaining blue bubble floating in front of them. "That sounds good, though. I think people would really love that kind of thing. I know I would. And the house would enjoy seeing you around, too, outside of just classes and stuff. When's your birthday? We could celebrate that, maybe." Any excuse to have a get-together, yeah?

So, Eliza had sort of figured, what better way to get to know her Divination and now Head of House a little better than...asking her to remove a big gingery beard from her face? Some might argue that there were several other ways, but today, this was the way Eliza chose.

Switching between holding her robes over her chin and stroking the beard a few more times before it, hopefully, was removed, Eliza knocked politely on the door of Professor Elwood, then took a seat and waited for her to become available. Might as well get the petting in while the petting is good, she thought as she crossed her long legs and patted her hand over her curly beard to feel the fluffiness and resilience of the coarse hairs.

Professor Elwood had been staring out the window towards the top of the Forbidden Forest for an determinable amount of time when the sound pulled her from her concentration. She walked across the small office and opened the door.
