The Badgers, reigning House and Gobstones Cup champions, and third place Quidditch Cup finishers, sit under a slightly frayed black and gold banner representing their house. However, the table is no longer in need of a polish and the place settings have returned to Hogwarts' traditional REAL silver silverware and heavy plates and goblets. Enjoy the much improved food!

Feast!
Feast meant boyfriend and friends and new firsties cause Quidditch recruiting and food. Did anyone realize how anxious this blonde was for food? Homegirl was hungry!
Making her way to the Hufflepuff table, Ella wore a smile. It really was good to be back. It was sort of empty though, yeah? Where was everyone? She wanted to chat and eat and catch-up! She also wanted to dance cause real silverware had to mean proper food and that was something to dance about.
Settling down, she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and waited. Her fellow puffs would surely be along soon.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Adi eagerly made his way to the Hufflepuff table. He was so happy to be in the House! His meeting with Puffers had influenced his choice and having the characteristics of the House really helped.
There was only one other student there, an older girl. "Hello!'' the new Hufflepuff greeted. Adi plopped down on and looked around. He'd heard about the dixie stuff but from the looks of the silverware, things seemed to have gotten better for the school.
Adi turned his attention back to the Sorting Hat. He wanted to see Hazel and Tessa be sorted. And that kid from Scribbulus whom he seriously hoped would not be in Hufflepuff.

Well, this was certainly a good surprise to Wade, as he made his way towards the usual Badger table.. What was this? "Merlin's Hippogriffs!" He beamed, "No more paper plates and sporks. Can you believe this Captain?" He addressed the one and only Captain Ella at the table. Silly sanitation issues weren't going to happen now whenever the feast came. Looks like the elves were back.. Hm?
Suddenly the feast was exciting. Well, the table wasn't as bare anymore and he saw a new badger join them, "Hello there, welcome to Hufflepuff." He beamed before holding his hand out. "You can call me Wade, Adi." Since he was just sorted, now they could wait for the others to join.

GRIN!
Brodie walked up and this is odd for him but he felt like talking... So he'll force himself into conversation. Seeing a girl sit down he sat down across from her and gave a small smile, "Hey there... Mind if I sit?" Oh... Should he have asked that before he sat? Oops... Well he'd still leave if she didn't want him there.
"I'm Brodie." He gave a small smile, hoping she would be nice, he was trying... Truly as hard as he could.

It was a nuisance to lose track of the people you would have preferred to sit with. Even more of a nuisance when they were in different houses because looking for them just meant awkward standing and staring at people and maybe scaring students that had only just been sorted. Poor mites; what a terror that would have been. Instead of looking for Cat or Coulson, Elodie took herself a seat at her house table, glancing up and down it for someone she already knew wouldn't be there.
It was going to be harder when going to her dorm came, for sure. One of those beds could have been Bliss' and it wasn't. The presence of the proper table dressings did not go unnoticed, and it made the fifth year smile. Or was that something to do with the fact this year was another minute closer to ending? Maybe it was the hunger too? The cramping stomach that rumbled already for food. Cramps made you smile, correct?
Or was it gas that made you smile? She didn't have gas. NOPE. NONE OF THAT..
Now, sat at the Hufflepuff table, Els stuck out like a sore thumb. Nap time had found her a marker-drawn mustache on her face. In all its epic twirlydom. And she APPROVED of it. Hence why it was still on her face and everything. She wasn't STUPID. She KNEW it was there. Psh.
Everyone that's at the table.. Others go ahead and grab her..

Minerva walked into the feast slowly. She had taken a detour to fix her makeup finally after not finding a moment on the train and while she was doing that got to use her mirror for a quick hello. Smiling bigger than she was on the train, she felt happy at the moment. Looking around at the feast she saw the older banners and gave a quick frown. She was hoping everything would be back to normal, but it looked as if somethings would not be. Oh well not much they could do about that better to just not assume she guessed.
As she walked to her table, she couldn't help but let her eyes glance to another table. One she spent most of her time at. She bit her lip and tried to focus to her own table, her own responsibilities and not allow the sad to come back at least not right now. Moving closer to her table she pulled her smile back to her face and greeted Ella. "Hey Ella.. Everything looking alright?" She looked around the table, the old silverware and goblets were back. Awesome!! So things might be looking up. "So we didn't get to talk much on the train. How was your summer?" She knew Ella had asked her how she was doing on the train, but with all the commotion she never did answer her friend. "To answer your question from the train, I'm doing alright.. or well I will be. Poor Alec had to deal with me a bit, but I'm fine." Yes she did cry on Alec's shoulder, but she hoped he didn't mind.
Oh and look their first ickle had come to the table. Minerva got a bigger smile on her face. She smiled as he introduced himself, "Hello Adi welcome to Hufflepuff. I'm Minerva one of the puff Prefects this term. If you need anything.. anything at all please just ask. We are a pretty nice group." She really meant that about her house. They were more than just nice. They were a wonderful group. She was so proud to be leading them this term even if she felt she was the wrong person for the job.
and look there was the amazing new head boy and her fellow leader, "Kitty.. She went over and sat down next to him. " Ready for all of this?" She looked around not sure if she even was. "Hopefully we can have a more uneventful term than last term was." Oh please Merlin no more poisoning and crazy... She couldn't handle more crazy.. or well she guess she didn't have to handle it, everyone else had to. "Hey.. thanks for dealing with me on the train. I know I wasn't the best company in that compartment." She didn't know if he saw through her fake, but he stayed positive and nice so that was a great friend.
She tried not to glare as Brodie showed up at the table and then she sighed, "Hey.. I'm sorry about the train alright? I wasn't in the best mood. I was upset about coming back without my boyfriend this term and I guess I might have taken it out on you a bit. So maybe we can try to start over a bit." She tried to give him a nice smile. She thought he was still a bit odd with his I hate magic, but attending a magic school stuff, but whatever.
Finally she looked at Elodie and smiled, "Hello! Welcome back.. Did you have a good summer?" Minerva was actually feeling pretty happy, maybe it was that new term excitement that was finally hitting her now that she was at the feast, but she felt better. Still a little lost, but for the moment content. "Excited to start the new term?" She hoped all her puff's were ready, because ready or not it was here.
It took her all the courage in the world to finally go through those doors. Lotus was blessed with the greatest of friends, and the Ravenclaw boy with the letter didn't know what he was talking about. Also, he didn't know what he was missing, because it was thanks to Lex that she managed to pull herself together and... walk to the yellow table with her head up high. Best of friends, that one. The hug may have helped, even if she was still nervous.
VERY nervous. This was... her brother's sorting, it was still a very important thing to her, no matter what Lex said, even if her best friend was incredibly right about that. It's not the color of the robes, eh? Are we still on that?
So, she tried to busy herself by half smiling at the silverware. No more plastic cups! She'll be checking out the gems later on. ALSO...ZOMG! AIREY FLAMSTEED THERE YOU ARE! OH, WE'VE MISSED YOU SO! That's a happy thought. She almost forgot about the sorting until she heard names being called out. Well, it was a long wait for Wisteria, anyway.
Still nervous. But very much composed. Still focusing... nowhere, it helped with composure. Until she remembered something...
...OMG! Oakey wasn't coming!
And for a small moment there was a hint of sadness in her expression, but then she saw Ella and was reminded about Alec. He'd be here and her candy supplies won't run low. Smile. She was really going to miss Oakey, though. Sigh. You know? It was imperative that Lottie stops the random reminders and end the mentions of the sun, since it was nighttime now and the sun wouldn't be around. That was a helpful, not random AT ALL, reminder.
Okay, yeah, it wasn't THAT bad. She had kind of anticipated this house to be honest. Not that she could be sure what an old stinking hat would think of her. (Clearly he wasn't bad at judging people though). Sigh. Why had she left Julian in her bag outside the hall actually? That was just stupid. Hopefully he wouldn't be squashed. Or you know, ran off or something. That was more likely actually.
With a small groan, Olly let herself drop on one of the benches at the house table, not really looking (or caring) who she sat down next to. Whatever. It wasn't like she knew anyone in this house. Holding her head up with her hand on her chin, she placed her elbow on the wooden table, lazily glancing up the house table aaaalll the way to staff table for a moment. Hopefully THOSE people knew how to perform a Patronus Charm.

Wasn't this just the coolest thing ever? Hufflepuff! And he could see the big kid, Wade, sitting a bit further away too! Hufflepuff was probably full of awesome people, they wouldn't have put Donny here otherwise.
Donnacha looked around for Abbi, but couldn't find her anywhere, so after looking around for a bit he climbed up on one of the benches and waved at all of his new housemates. 'Hi!' He bowed before sitting down next to a girl who had just been sorted too.
'You look very big to be a first year.' Donnacha said and smiled up at the girl. ...manners! 'I'm Donn'cha Harper! Or Donny! That's fine too!' It really was.
She didn't look very excited to be here either... 'Aren't you essited? I am!'
He nodded and examined the silverware, fancy! When he was home he wasn't allowed to use the fancy stuff, just in case he broke it. And he usually did break stuff... maybe he should warn someone.

Minnnieeeeeee.
Els smiled at the older girl, giving her a waggle of her fingers. "I had a great summer! How was yours?" Normal catch up questions. This was normal. She noted how happy Minerva sounded and it was only catching when Els spoke again. "Wonderfully excited!" Now..she hadn't been earlier, actually. She probably wouldn't be later either, but STILL. "And yourself? Ready for that whole last term stuff?"

Glancing across from herself, Elodie noted two new arrivals to the table sat together. One was small enough to be a first year, and the other was just a face Elodie had never seen. People didn't go out of their way to come sit at a different table and sit on their own, so she assumed she was a new addition to the house.
Els said nothing but watched them, and waited for the girl to say what year she was in or something. Cuuuuriosity did not kill the Cat. Because the Cat was over at her own house table, and Els had JUST caught glance of her.

After having that creepy old and dirty hat on, and being told that she was supposedly suited to Ravenclaw (she didn't know what that meant, and made a mental note to dig out Hogwarts: A History and find out after the feast) Charlie wasn't hungry. Instead she felt lonely, and confused. She'd never done this before, never known other people, at all, so the mass of students in the Great Hall was overwhelming. Her first instinct was to LEAVE and back away from all the people.
Somehow, this was worse than Diagon Alley .
Instead, Charlie forced herself to take a deep breath and scan the room. Maybe a familiar, friendly face was needed. Yes. Spotting Elodie, Charlie made her way to the Hufflepuff table. "Hey," she muttered, mustering a smile . "Can I join you?" She didn't know the other people, but nodded and smiled at them. She could be friendly, see?

Tobias was THERE. He had a strange habit of turning up or just being at places without people knowing how he got there. But it was only really a matter of him being small, fast and kinda stealthy.
Right now, though, the stealthy part wasn't working out so well. Toby was a little way down from the people he already knew at the table... for reasons.
Before he could take his seat and start confusing people as to when he'd got there, Toby had to contend with another issue. He was trying to quietly get a pogo stick something under the table. He managed to get it there with minimal people seeing it, but the blasted thing now gave a distinctly metallic clatter as it fell into the space between table and floor which was very likely to draw attention to him. Looking only a liiiiiiiittle bit guilty, Tobias quickly recovered and gave a smile and wave to everyone who looked at him.
Finally taking a seat, Tobias turned to watch the sorting, before leaning down and firmly grasping the pogo stick metal contraption he had under the table so nobody could possibly take it.
Wait a second... the plates! The cutlery! It was shiny and cleeeeean!
This called for a celebratory pogo bounce... a little later.
Right now he would just do normal Tobias!bouncing in his seat. They were obviously gonna get good FOOOOOOOOD.

Laura looked around the room and smiled. She couldn't believe what was going on, she was now starting her sixth year and unfortunately her friend Minnie was leaving after this year and Laura was really sad about that.
Laura looked around and smiled as she saw her friend Ella, she wondered if her friend had a good summer or not. "Ella did you have a good summer?" Laura sat down at the table.
Laura just stared at the table wondering who else was going to be here, she had lost a few good friends at the end of last term and she was still getting used to them not being here, though of course she did her Nerida and a lot of other friends still here.

Whilst her watching of the two new faces was interesting, Elodie was MUCH more fascinated to watch the sorting and see where her new...friends (were they friends? Oh deear) were placed. She was sure she had missed them though, because she couldn't quite see them in the mass of students waiting to be sorted, and nor could she see them at tables right now. They were hiding, potentially.
She craned her neck a little to see if maybe she could catch a glimpse of their hairs (she was a hair person!!!), but nothing. That was; until Charlie joined her, and Els greeted her with a squeal and a hug and yep. "Hey! You made it!" To Hogwarts, of course. Not Hufflepuff, unfortunately. She seated herself again, and nodded. "Sure, come sit."
Maybe she'd introduce her to other people who were deemed okay enough to handle such a girl with the pink bag. THE PINK BAG.
She tried not to glare as Brodie showed up at the table and then she sighed, "Hey.. I'm sorry about the train alright? I wasn't in the best mood. She thought he was still a bit odd with his I hate magic, but attending a magic school stuff, but whatever.
Brodie looked up at her, fighting back a normal smug look. He was trying to be nice, he didn't want to make anyone hate him, he just wanted a new year with no stress, or no more stress then he'd be getting into, "I am too... I wasn't the best company to keep." He knew that, but he was getting annoyed with people saying he didn't make any sense for what he wanted to do... but that was in the past, hopefully they'd leave him alone now about it, "And... I'm just saying, I know it doesn't make much sense... I love magic, but being able to say I was able to live with an eighty-five percent chance of dying without magic... It can make me feel a little stronger." That had seemed to help the others understand when they asked about it... Hopefully it would help her too... Hopefully, but he still wasn't too sure.

So her name was Olivia. Interesting. Considering she'd introduced as Olly then that's how Lottie will be calling her. Any particular reasons she didn't like her name? We don't really care. Oh, Merlin, look at that excitable first year that was sitting next to her. Smirk. Fun times. Lottie WON'T interrupt.
The Hogwartian had her own issues, after all, she didn't need extras.
BUT, that clatter! THAT made her head turn towards where it came from, no doubt coming from a Hufflepuff, and distracted her from the sorting. That was good, yeah? Was it? Hey, she knew that kid. He was in the Quidditch team last year, right? No matter now, she was suddenly interested in distractions. Kept her nervousness at bay.
Taking advantage of the fact that the kid was sitting pretty much next to her (at another time she'd have moved), Lottie leaned towards him and in a very low tone said, "You look suspicious." OBVIOUSLY. "What are you planning to do?" PLEASE, WE NEED DISTRACTIONS, DO TELL US. We're super nice people, you know? Wink.

Minerva grinned at Elodie. She didn't know if it was just being at the feast or her quick little mirror chat, but she was feeling better about being at school. The excitement of all the new years had to be helping. "My summer was good." After her little stay at St. Mungos she highly enjoyed it. "Relaxing without to much excitement, but well needed." Was she ready for the term.. Well at the station when she was saying goodbye, no.. On the train even.. no, but now "Yes I really think I am ready. Can't believe it's the final one, but we will all have fun." They all deserved some fun after the stress of last term.
Seeing two knew faced the prefect got up and went over to them. (Olly and Donny) "Hello" She gave them a huge smile. "Welcome to Hufflepuff.. Are you excited to get the term started?" She hoped all the new little badgers were excited. "My name is Minerva, but you can call me Minnie. If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to find me and ask, alright?" She loved doing it and now it was her job, even though she would have been this welcoming and helpful anyway.
Minerva jumped when she heard clatter down the table. Well just getting the feast started and perfect duties would have to happen it seemed. Eyeing to see what had happened she saw a second year seeming a bit nervous.. Now why would Tobias be acting that way. Maybe she could go have a little fun with this one. She walked down to his end of the table, "Now Toby you aren't doing anything that could get you in trouble are you?" She tapped her fingers on the table trying to look stern. Was it working? She really wasn't sure and the fact she started laughing didn't help. She sat down and took a look under the table. Eyes going wide, "What on earth." She looked back up at Toby and chuckled a bit, leaning a bit closer, "Please don't get caught with that by a professor and I will pretend I never saw it.. alright?" She ruffled her little kitties hair. "I hope you had a good end to your summer."
Minerva then saw another quiet puff come to the table and sit down. Laura seem to just sneak in. Was she still acting upset like she was over summer. Minerva walked over to her friend and gave her a hug. "Hey I didn't see you while I was walking around the train. Did you have a good ride back?" She adjusted her robes before taking a seat. "Ready to get started with the term?"
Minerva kept her smile while talking to Brodie, but she wanted to roll her eyes something awful. She would wait and roll them when she told Ethan about this one. This boy though she might be impressed by his living percentage if she wasn't close friends with Damon. Sorry bud, but it wasn't that impressive when you have magic to really save you if you needed it and you picked to chance it. That was like just dumb, right? "Well just remember what I said about meeting new people and some of the activities that could help with that. If you ever need anything don't hesitate to ask. I'm always around."

Ella had been watching the sorting hat ceremony with interest, excited to see who the new additions to the house would be. She had been so nervous when she was sorted and she hoped to make whoever came over to the table feel welcome and at home.
Speaking of new additions, here was one right now. The captain smiled at the little badger who she believed was named Adi (if she'd heard the hat correctly) and waved. "Hello, I'm Ella." BEAM. "Welcome to the family."
And then there was curly hair and smiles and Ella was really happy to see Wade. It was good that the table was filling up now. "It's a miracle!" She said dramatically, throwing her hands in the air before giggling at the head boy. Seriously though, it was nice to have real silverware back. "How's Head boying so far?"
Brodie. He looked sort of familiar but Ella didn't recall having talked with him before. She returned his smile and shook her head before saying, "I don't mind at all. I'm Ella."
More and more people were arriving now and though the blonde was a bit curious as to where her boyfriend was, she was just as happy to see all the other familiar faces arrive. Spotting Elodie, the blonde's smile widened slightly. "I like your stache. It suits you."
"Things look better than alright, Min." And Ella was excited. She wanted to see house elves and then this would feel like Hogwarts again. As for her summer, the blonde smiled. "It was good. Just worked and spent time with my family. Alec came to stay for a bit too." But yeah, no need to go into detail or anything. She'd only end up blushing. The blonde's smile faltered a bit at hearing how the older badger was but at least she was hanging in there. "I don't think Alec minds. He likes helping people feel better."
And then there was a sad looking Lottie and Ella bit her lip. They weren't exactly friends but she didn't like seeing the girl upset. Instead of saying anything, she just offered the girl a small smile and a wave. That'd do for now. The other new additions to Hufflepuff got smiles too and a cheerful, "Welcome to Hufflepuff!" She was really happy they were here. And did they play Quidditch?
"Hey Laura." Grin! "I had a really great one. How was your summer?" And did she know where Sophie was? Best friend should be here by now.
And then Tobias happened. The blonde was sort of the resident Nancy Drew so she knew something was up and definitely noticed the second year stuffing something under the table. She just sort of locked eyes with him and raised an eyebrow, giving him a look that said: I know stealth when I see it and I know you're up to something but I'll let it slide cause you're cute and it'll probably be amusing.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Oh looky! The first person to speak to him was the Head Boy! Adi noted the badge pinned on his uniform. He looked in awe at the older boy and briefly wondered if he would be good enough one day to be Head Boy. "Hi, Head Boy Wade!'' he greeted. "Thank you! I'm very glad to have been sorted into Huffelpuff.''
And yet another Hufflepuff leader! Adi looked from Minerva to her badge, his eyes full of awe and respect. "Hi, Minerva! Can I call you Min?'' It did make sense to call her that. "Thanks!'' He grinned. "I know you guys are. I've met Asher and Anna already and they're pretty cool! But I'll definitely need help. You know, like finding my way to the common room.'' Yeah because this was a huuuuuuge Castle and Adi was sure his little self would be swallowed by it if he ventured out on his own before he got used to everything.
Adi now turned to the girl whom he had said hello to when he joined the table. She was the Puff Quidditch team's Captain! How cool! All these leaders! "Nice to meet you, Ella! Thank you!''
More persons were joining their table! Adi grinned at them- Brodie, Elodie, Lottie, Olly and Tobias. He then turned his attention to the staff table. Had Professor D found his book?
Tobias didn't know what she was trying to communicate for sure BUT it wasn't a STERN look or anything, so Tobias just assumed that she wasn't about to stop him from pogo-ing any time soon. Not that she KNEW about the ~plans but still. Tobias just continued smiling and waving and Ella got an extra wide GRIN AND WAVE before looking around to see if the Headmistress would be giving her speech anytime soon.
As he looked 'round, he came FACE-to-FACE with someone who was leeeeeaning in at him. Meeeeeep.
Tobias nearly squirmed in his seat, just 'cause he was caught off guard, but then he remembered there was no point HIDING the thing. 'Cause of ~plans, y'know? He gave a mischievous little grin and started to speak and kept his voice low so only the girl could hear him, 'cause you never knew when a killjoy might strike.
"I," said Toby, holding back cackle!giggles as he spoke to the girl he didn't know the name of. "Am going to ride my TRUSTY steed around the Great- HIIIIIIIIII Minnie!"
BECAUSE at that very moment, Minerva had shown up.
Acting all PREFECTY. Which was pretty cool. But Tobias STILL had to crank to the cute up to 11 just in case.
"I would never try to get in trouble," Toby answered honestly. It was true. He didn't try, he just liked to have FUN and he'd never got in any trouble at Hogwarts before, so he was obviously doing something right. And GAH he was just so ENERGETIC and MAYBE some people would smile if they saw a good pogo show, because Toby was all about SMILES. Also there was nothing about pogoing in DA RULES.
But yeah, he was totally fine with Minerva forgetting she'd seen the pogo stick. That way it could be a surprise for her too when he did some ultra-bouncing. Tobias smiled at her once she ruffled his hair... people sure liked to ruffle his hair. Or maybe Hufflepuffs in general liked ruffling hair.
Hmmm... maybe he should pay more attention to the Sorting Hat, 'cause he'd never heard it mention hair-ruffling before.

He gave a small thankful smile to Ella, "Nice to meet you." Brodie adjusted his sling and looked around, wow... so many other people... That did make him a little nervous, admittedly he wanted to meet new people and be social... but there were so many people...
Elizabeth hurried over to te table, filled with Hufflepuffs. She nervously sits on the edge of the seat.. She nods hello to the people opposite her, everyone was chatting between themselves, she sat there & without thinking, starts talking to herself.. "I feel so stupid.. I wish I wasn't so shy.."
She tries to join in a conversation, but doesn't want them to think she was earwigging, so she looks down at the table.. She sits there tapping the table to the song that was still in her head from earlier...
Asher glanced around the table, thankful to see so many friendly faces. He was thrilled to be back at Hogwarts. Even better, he had met a great new friend,Adi, on the train. This years ride with him and Annabeth had been the best.
Catching Ella in his eye line, he gave her a big wave. She had been so nice to him during his first year, and she had talked Quidditch! His favorite thing to talk about. Also noticing the girl that saved him from the dementors, Minerva, he smiled brightly and waved at her as well.
Just as he was about to say something about the fancy dishes, the first year that had just been sorted sat down next to him. "Hi there, Elizabeth? Is that right? Welcome to Hufflepuff. Glad to have you." Grinning at the younger girl, Asher hoped she was happy about her new house. "I'm Asher. Second year."

Elizabeth quickly turns to smile at the lad, who started a conversation with her.. "Hello! Yes it is Elizabeth, but I answer to absolutely anything! Pleased to meet you, I don't really know anyone here yet.. Except a couple of people I met on the train, but I'm not sure where they are... What happens now..?"
