A group of brooms levitate three feet in the air, patiently hovering in place until grabbed. Each one is equipped with hand grips, foot holds, and invisible shields that can be used to safely bump into other riders. Don't fret about being unseated; the ground has been softened with charms to make it spongy, rubbery, and perfect for bouncing you right back up to the action.
Well? What are you waiting for? Select a broom and get to bumping!
OOC: Roleplay your character choosing a broom and heading into the air for some roughnecked fun! Feel free to team up with other characters and be creative with how you play, but please keep in mind that no injuries should occur. When Tiara heard about a second prefect event, she was pleased. Though she had not attended the first one, she had heard it had been quite a success. This time she wanted in on the action. Plus she heard there was going to be a game involving brooms, and obviously that interested her.
When she arrived, she looked around to see where the game was being held. I think I may be the first one here. No matter. She hopped on a broom and took flight, deciding to just have a leisurely pleasure flight until students started arriving.

Best station at the event? Yup. Ella had lucked out with this one. She was also a bit late but that's only because she'd stopped off for a snack before making her way over here. Student leaders had to eat too, y'know.
Oh, a lone flyer. The blonde was sort of amused that it was Tyner. Figured, yeah? She'd sort of expected that the quidditch enthusiasts would make their way here at some point during the celebration. "Hey, Professor!" Waveeeee. And if no one else showed up, could she jump on a broom and play too? She'd worn shorts underneath her dress for just this reason. Eyes on the brooms, mhm.
And where were Jake and Nigel? Though she was willing to bet that Jake was with a certain Anya-face.

Tiara was having a good time despite being by herself. She executed several double loops and tight figure eights, savoring the feeling of the warm summer breeze in her face. It was a nice change from the biting cold during the majority of the Quidditch season.
After several minutes, Tiara spotted a familiar figure walking towards the game area. "Hello Miss Bishop," she said from the air. "Please do come join me up here. If others see us having fun then they will hurry up and get over here." Not that she was itching to get started playing or anything.

Lex hadn't been flying since her final match of the season. How healthy was THAT???? Her wrists would probably get fat from the lack of exercise, don't even get her started on the little muscle she was trying to develop in her arms. They were needed, OKAY?? One didn't have her weight and play beater without a little muscle for compensation sake. But the main reason she'd come here was because flying and she wanted to and preferred it to most everything else they had--except the picnic...you can't beat food. It's just not that possible, you know?
When she got there she spotted Ella and someone flying. Someone....Lex squinted up at the sky then saw it was Professor Tyner. To say she was surprized would be a huge lie.
"Hey Ella. I can just take one of these and start knocking the Professor off her broom yeah?" As in, no resulting detention if the Professor did fall? She liked this game...a lot. Of course she wasn't opposed to falling too. Have you SEEN the floor?? Falling from a certain height and landing on it would be EPIC!!! Alexa had to try, had to.
And a wave to the woman up theeeere. "Having fun Professor?"

Be right up!" Besides, it's not like anyone could be hurt. The student leaders had made sure of that.
The blonde was about to make her broom selection when another familiar face arrived. It seemed that the Gryffindor was much better than she'd been since the last time Ella saw her too which was nice. Not love sick anymore, Lex? Good. "Hey there! Yup, that's the plan." And with a grin, she added, "And you'll have to knock me off too."
With that, Ella mounted the broom in front of her and kicked off hard from the ground. Game on, people.

So Alexa Cambridge thought she was capable of getting the ex-professional Quidditch official off her broom? Highly improbable. Amused, she merely said, "You're on, Miss Cambridge," before zooming off to gain the advantage of altitude. They would soon figure out how well the Prefects' charms had worked.

Lex watched Ella grab a broom before grabbing one of her own. Of course she heard the Professor's challenge before the woman flew off and that just got her pumped to get this thing started. The Gryffindor mounted her broom and zoomed upward. Maybe she was tailing the Professor, maybe....
Trailing was half dangerous though, no telling if the woman could turn on a sickle and there was always the fact she needed to be watching out for Ella....unless...unless they team up for now? Just until the Professor was off her broom. Glancing around for the older girl Lex spotted her and tried giving her looks, nodding toward Tyner and hoping the Hufflepuff could take a hint so she wouldn't have to go discussing it out loud.
Things like this were best done with Lottie. They had an unspoken language for times such as now.

Against his better judgement, Airey bypassed everything else and went straight for the brooms. Playing in the All Stars vs Staff match last term had reminded him just how much he missed flying - along with a few other ambitions that included travel through the air - and, well, this seemed like a good way to release some of the energy that he had been experiencing recently. It was like being on that ice cream all over again.
"Hello, ladies!" he called before grabbing the broom nearest him and mounting it. "I am not leaving you out of my sight this time, so you can rest right here in my pocket." He was speaking to his pet rock, of course, who he gingerly placed in the charmed breast pocket of his suit.
Now, had either one of these two taken a shot at him during his lesson? He was having a hard time recalling at the moment, so instead of lingering on the past, the astronomer went for the moment and flew directly towards Miss Cambridge. Only because she happened to be the closest to him at the moment.

Ella noted the looks Lex was giving and raised an eyebrow. Part of her wasn't so sure she wanted to get on Tyner's bad side but this was all in good fun and she was sure the older woman knew that. With this in mind, she nodded her head and smiled at the lion. Tag team for now, Candy Girl.

"Hello, Professor!" GRIN! Ella was a fan of the star man, okay? She'd also noticed that he was now flying directly at her partner in broom bumping and the seventeen year old raised her eyebrows a bit. Was the Gryffindor watching or was she too busy sizing up Professor T?

Tiara saw that look, Alexa. Logic dictated that students would gang up on the staff member in this case. Tiara began diversionary tactics, swerving left, feinting a dive, and several other classic maneuvers she had picked up officiating so many professional matches. Good luck, Cambridge! I may be heavier, but I have experience on my side.
But then Airey showed up. Aha, maybe he would partner with her! "Professor Flamsteed, welcome!" she called out to a smaller version of Airey down below. "It looks like it's us against the girls, doesn't it?" At least, she was hoping that Airey was game for that.

Ella had gotten the looks. Lex gave her a quick grin before focusing on her task of trailing the Professor...that is until she heard Ella shout. Lex flashed around and spotted Professor Airey coming straight at her. The Gryffindor swerved immediately and realized she'd missed her chance at the fancy flying Quidditch Lady who'd pulled out a few stunts of her own.
After recovering Lex glanced back at the Astronomer. This was really happening then? Alright. She was even more game now. They could take 'em.
Lex spun until she was facing him again. Without much of a solid plan she sped directly toward him. There were very few ways this could all turn out. He'd swerve, she'd swerve or they'd both be free falling. It was like wondering if he'd call her bluff that wasn't much of a bluff in the first place. Make no mistake, she was planning on colliding right into him.
Some Ella!backup would be super.

Leaning forward on his broom, the professor flew forward with the impiest of impish grins on his face. "PREPARE FOR RAMMING SPEED!" he cackled. None of that fancy smancy flying for him. Just full speed ahead and BOOM tactics.

This was happening. Okay. Ella couldn't help but laugh at Professor Airey's battle cry and she took a second to watch, noting the speed at which he and her partner in bumping were headed towards each other. "No mercy, Lex!" GRIN! This was fun.
But not just fun. Ella had a job to do now too and she flew higher, leaning forward on her broom to gain speed. Her eyes had locked on to the quidditch official and she was headed straight for her. No distractions would stop her now. Game on, professors! We're coming for you, Tyner!

Oh good, Airey was definitely on her side. Because... if she was honest with herself, Airey was the scariest one out here just because he was a wild card. But it appeared that Airey and Lex were going after each other, which left...
"Ella!"
She yelled loudly as she noticed the Quidditch Captain coming straight at her. In that moment, the fact that the brooms were charmed with large bubbles around them had flown out of her mind. Her natural reaction was to MOVE. So she swerved upwards quickly to avoid the collision. Once she was clear of Ella, though, she realized she would've been fine. So, she looped around the Hufflepuff and charged at her back, ready for the contact.

It didn't look like either would back down, consequently Lex leaned forward on her broom. Fully bracing for impact she speed forward giving a quick shout of confirmation to Ella. No mercy. None.
There was something like a BAAANG!!! when she and Airey collided and it sent the Gryffindor free falling only seconds after impact.
She hit the floor with a few bounces before stopping completely, a stupid, wide grin in place.
"That was so EPIC!!! AGAIN!!!!"

Ella was confused and slightly amused that Tyner was flying away from her. She did know this was totally safe, right? Besides, Ella wasn't that scary. Well, unless what Alec said was true. Then maybe she was a little scary. Only a little, though. Now where was that professor?
Ella looked up, then down, then she turned to look over her shoulder an-

Incoming professor. MEEP! Ella quickly changed her direction so that she was facing the quidditch official and leaned forwards, charging towards the professor.
She only faintly heard Lex yelling about Epicness as she made contact with Professor Tyner...

He leaned forward some more on his broom to gain more momentum and began doing a few quick calculations in his head. Would now be a terrible time to ask Miss Cambridge if she recalled Newton's Laws of Motion? He ended up chuckling to himself for just thinking about even asking the Gryffindor, and prepared himself for contact.

The two collided, sending the astronomer spinning due to the angle in which his shield had hit hers. "I'M GIVING HER ALL SHES GOT, CAPTAIN!" he said while he spun and, after a few moments, fell off his broom and onto his bum where he bounced forward a few times before coming to a stop.
Again? Again was good for him!
Only it seemed, according to his sundial watch, that it was about time for the awards ceremony to begin.
"We will have to do this again sometime," he nodded. "For now, I believe it is about time for Hogwarts to be announced the winner of the competition." Since, well, Hogwarts had handed it to the other two schools during the tasks. Judging from his completely unbiased opinion, of course.
