| SPNer | Whovian | Sherlockian | | Artist | Cornhusker | Blackhawks Adelaide was really excited for Astronomy...and her being the first one there definitely gave that away. She just loved Flamsteed and his lessons. And there he was dancing and singing on the fountain. She smiled as she grabbed the lint roller and rolled it over her robes. She really didn't see how it would make much of a difference out her, but she wasn't going to tell him that. "Hello professor. How're you doing today?" She figured well because of his mood. She looked over at the row of blankets and sat down, folding her legs under her.

She was all de-linted and smiling because she completely approved of lessons being outside. Ella was a fan of the sun and the heat and of all things out doors so she was happy, okay? She was also curious as to why Professor fancy-pants was in such a good mood. Had there been some progress made with a certain defense against the dark arts professor or what? The seventeen year old grinned at the thought. It was only a matter of time before that worked out. Ella had a good feeling about it and her feelings were never wrong. Maybe. "Hello, Professor! Nice day, isn't it?" BEAM! And the blonde the flopped down on one of the comfy blankets and listened to the humming Professor. They...should just skip class and have a picnic instead, yeah? Yeah.

Laurel Bellefleur | ♡ A heart full of Love l ☾ A night bright as Day l Another class to enjoy out in the sun? One could say this seventh year definitely approved of! Only this time she came prepared with a pair of sunglasses over her eyes. She was happily taking in the warm sun rays as she made her way towards the semi-circle of blankets on the grass surrounding Professor Flamsteed.
Once arriving at her destination, the redhead raised her hand giving a light wave. "Morning Professor.." Also giving a quick smile, she turned heading towards a blanket on the grass. She paused trying to figure out how she could sit properly without falling over. Which was when she figured out that she would sit as if she were side-saddling her horse back home or something. So her bum was on the blanket & her legs were bent to the side. And there was not falling over, which made a happy Nicola. |

It was weird to have astronomy class outside. Wasn't it mostly about looking at stars and such? But then again the sun was a star itself, so this class kind of made sense during daylight. Walking onto the grounds, Jun noticed some blankets on the ground. Striding over, he set his bag down before smiling at the professor. "Hello, sir," he said with a small nod and sat down.
Maybe today's class had to do something with the sun being a star? It was only a guess.

Kace liked the idea of having Astronomy outside. He liked having the sun shining on his skin and just liked smelling the fresh air. Plus he was in one of his favorite classes. He smiled and as he walked down, he noticed the professor. "Hi Professor! How are you doing?"
Kace sat down on one of the comfy blankets and even laid down on it and was relaxing. He just loved the springtime weather.

... And this one... was outside? In the Tower Patch? In the heat? ... Okay.
Alec wasn't too phased by that; it was probably a really nice change to sitting in a classroom. The de-linting thing seemed to have remained the same so... the boy reached for a lint roller, still amused with the sign. Once de-linted, he looked around at the tower patch, taking note of everything from the blankets to the tall structures -- he had questions -- and then to a particularly happy looking Astro Man Flamsteed.
Speaking of... "Hello Professor!" he called, smiling and giving the singing man a nod. Heading over towards the captain, the boy sat down next to her, giving her a smile too. No snogging in the Astronomy Tower. He knew the rules. His bag was set down in front of him and he sat there, taking another look around at the tower patch.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Eliza Neladara Dawnsel Fifth Year | Eliza had been quite happy to hear that she'd be outside for another class today. The warm sun felt wonderful on her skin as she took a moment to roll up her robe sleeves, after de-linting them of course. As she bounded happily over to a blanket in the grass, she gave a cheerful wave and a bright eyed greeting to the professor. "Hello Professor Flamsteed! Great weather, right?" She may have been the only to think so, but she did think so all the same. The heat from Earth's star was very very welcomed by this one.

Sarah walked, deep in revising things for OWLS. They were looming so soon and Sarah was greatfl that she had dropped Ancient Runes and Divinition. There was so much to learn for the other subjects as it was.
She was so deep in thought that she walked past the delinter. That was what the door was for, to remind her to delint. Yet when she saw the professor she was reminded of the delinter. At first she was relieved thinking that it was not present, yet than she saw it and went back to delint.
Having delinted she greeted the proffessor, "hi professor". She was then deep in her notes again, she landed into the present for just enough time to sit down before going over a time period of history in her head

Another outside class, well this was fun. Minerva walked onto the tower patch smiling. She couldn't believe how close the end was coming, but she tried not to think about it and just enjoyed the sun. "Professor Hello" She smiled and waved to Flamsteed who seemed to be in a super good mood. Well that was nice to see she guess, maybe he would go easy on them this class.
She headed towards a place to sit, but stopped first and sighed turning and going back to the lint roller. Yeah she better use this. She liked animals and had Fluffy and the Rabbit hat from Transfiguration that she needed to make sure the hair wasn't on her. Once she was done Min went and found a place to sit waving at a few people and finally picking a place near Eliza.

Well seems like somebody is doing yoga or whatever it is he is doing. Was Flamsteed just singing and dancing or was it some type of yoga. Nigel did find it funny that he even brought a table out here just for his lint roller. Can he really see if lint falls to the ground. "Are you feeling alright, Professor?"
Oh look a mysterious object that is covered with drapes. Will people be getting green beards again?

Outside classes were always the best, especially when they were for one of her favourite subjects. With any luck there wouldn't be any foreigners here to ruin it for her like they ruined DADA. Rotten people they were.
As she approached the others she could hear the Professor singing that tune...An indication of what they'd be doing this lesson most likely.
Lex walked right up to the lint roller and got to de-linting her robes to the Professor's liking. Had to be to his liking, Lex didn't mind lint so she obviously wasn't doing this for herself, geddit? After a couple rolls she was sure she'd gotten everywhere that could possibly be gotten and walked over to one of the blankets. "Hello Professor! You look awfully happy today? Nothing to do with ice-cream I hope."
The lion didn't hold a grudge against the substance but at the same time, she didn't trust it coming from the castle directly. Lex plopped down and began getting comfy while she waited on the lesson to begin.

| Kace, too! ^__^ ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Adi was looking forward to another Astronomy lesson but he wondered why it was being held outside this time. He was mighty curious. He was not surprised to find the lint roller and as he used it, he once again wondered who used it as a hair brush. That would have been such a funny thing to see!
Anyway. Adi stepped towards where the others were. But his attention was caught by Flamsteed who was dancing? But he was definitely singing! "Professor! Hello!'' He gave the man a cheery grin. That's when he noticed the drapes. What was under there?
And there was Kace. Adi bounded over to his bestie. "Hi, Kace!'' |

Putting the fear of height aside, which was ever present, Ascanius just didn't wanna sit on the ground, yeah! No matter how feminine Glitter Trousers blankets were.
Oh look, he was dancing too. He didn't even try to prove Ascanius wrong, did he?
Not even acknowledging his existence, 'cause why would he, Ascanius found an empty blanket and sat there with a casually bored expression.

Mo dutifully rollered himself before carefully considering his seating options. Cambridge would be fun, actually, but he felt it was his moral and bro!ethical duty to sit next to Nigel. Besides, they never sat together in class, and it MIGHT be awesome.
It would be awesome.
He plopped down on the grass beside the other boy and grinned broadly at him before turning to the professor. "Hullo, Professor. It's a good day for an outdoor lesson." As if Flamsteed himself had managed to finagle blue skies or whatever. Maybe he had... professors were powerful people.

This is all she needed, truth be told. Perfect way to spend a day, even, regardless of the heat, which was all good, she didn't mind. This was Airey Flamsteed's lesson, who cared about the heat?
Can we join Airey by the fountain, by the way??? Can we???
Lottie simply beamed as she joined the others who were already sitting there waiting for the lesson to start. That beaming smile was for you, Professor, of course. "Good day, Professor!" Amazing day he seemed to be having, really.
The Hogwartian pondered sitting next to Ascanius...oh, no, wait, actually, she did. She was joining Ascanius today, because why not? A wink for the Slytherin. Someone was happy. |

Taking the blanket on the non-Lottie occupied side of Ascanius, Alice gave the Slytherin a nudge as she tried to think of why they were outside. What was with professors and nature at this time of year? Why not just let them play Quidditch? People fell off brooms. They faceplanted into the ground.
That was connecting with nature. "Hi prof. Why're you singing about the Sun in this weather? That's too predictable. You should do a song about the moon instead. Are there any by Monty Python?" Yes okay go.

Marigold was in a SUPER happy mood today cause ASTRO with the BEST TEACHER. She couldn't understand why some people thought Airey wasn't good, but she supposed older kids must have lost some common sense. She LOVED Airey, c'mon, he always had the best activities. So when Marigold skipped up to Airey to greet him, she was happy. "Hi Professor!!!!!" He could practically SEE the happiness radiating off Marigold, RIGHT!!!

Maybe today's class had to do something with the sun being a star? It was only a guess. WAH. There was that sir again. He really ought to edit it into his classroom rules to not call him that. Ruined the slightly laid back, but clean, classroom vibe he had going. "Just professor will do," he nodded towards the boy. Quote:

She had gone above and beyond his expectations during her task and made this astronomer VERY proud. Only way he could have been more proud would have been if she had walked away with the Quidditch Cup. Something he could perhaps discuss with her later, but for now he was just beaming at her. "I find the song to be a perfectly logical fit given the circumstances," he chuckled. It WAS educational and a refresher of the things that they should know. "Songs regarding the moon will be used later. Perhaps even next term and I'll see about throwing some Monty Phython into the mix." Quote:

So when Marigold skipped up to Airey to greet him, she was happy. "Hi Professor!!!!!" He could practically SEE the happiness radiating off Marigold, RIGHT!!!
*toothy grin* "Hello, Miss McAlistor," he smiled at the Hufflepuff. He appreciated the enthusiasm. Always good to see.
Airey checked his sundial watch - which once again was working - and looked back at the students sitting on their blankets. Yep, it was time to get started. So with a flick of his wand, he conjured up a levitating blackboard that stood between him and the fountain, blocking it from view. He then placed a few charms on the fountain itself to keep the sound of the water from being too much of a distraction. Students needed to be able to hear, yes?
"Hello, good afternoon, and welcome to another Astronomy, not to be confused with Astrology, lesson" he greeted the class. "We have spent the term discussing the largest star in our Solar System, the sun, and we will be wrapping that discussion up today with something really special. Previously we went over the layers of the sun and I would ask that we all sing the Layers of the Sun song together once as a refresher, but I am afraid that time is of the essence and we need to just jump right into things." He finally jumped off the edge of the fountain now, adjusted his tie, and took several steps forward. He pulled out of his breast pocket two pieces of white cardboard, which he held in his right hand, and then a small square piece of a silvery metallic paper-looking material for all to see. "Can anyone guess what these materials have to do with today's lesson?" OOC: This lesson has officially started! Please do not post your character arriving now or else risk loss of house points for your house or some other punishment that Airey feels is appropriate. If you are joining us now, please just pretend as though your character has been here all along.

Kat stared the the cardboard and the silver metallic thing that Professor Flammy was holding. She knew the metallic material was aluminum foil, by the way. Her mum used them at home... well, her previous home since she had moved in with Elise. Then the white cardboards. Uhm... she wasn't sure. Like... at all, but she had something in mind. Something Daddy Hudson taught her before, when she was about seven years of age.
The Head Girl raised her hand. "Uhm... are we going to make something with those materials so that we can view the sun without really hurting our eyes, Professor?" Kat said. She was making sure, you know? Cos there were a lot of things you'd be able to make with two piece of cardboard and aluminum foil. But nothing else related to the sun.
Anyway, it was worth the shot.

Minerva watched as he jumped off the fountain. She couldn't help but chuckle to herself. As much as she was ready to be done she wasn't ready to be done either. Sighing she watched as he started the lesson. Tilting her head a bit as he pulled the material out. Cardboard.... shiny paper. What on earth was he up too. With Flamsteed it really didn't surprise her anything he was up to and as long as it didn't mean her getting another beard she was good with it.
Thinking about his question a moment she put her hand up, "Professor, Could you put the pieces together and using the shiny paper make a reflector for the sun?" Maybe they were going to make sun catcher or something. That could be fun and interesting. She pulled out her parchment to be ready to take notes on whatever it was.

Airey-face was super happy and Ella approved so much. She also appreciated the congratulations so her smile widened a bit when the quidditch cup was mentioned. "Thank you, Professor." Really, really.
Now eyes were on the cardboard and tinfoil-looking stuff in the star man's hands. What could they be doing with those? Hmmm. Kat and Min had some good guesses and either one could be right so Ella had to put on her thinking cap to come up with something else. Maybe...a solar oven? The tin foil-stuff would probably get hot without burning but then again, they'd probably need a box rather than two random pieces of cardboard for that. Hm.
OH! "Are we making one of those sun...or erm solar projector things?" That was possible, yeah? Cause like Min said, the foil stuff could be reflective and yeah, that could work.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Eliza Neladara Dawnsel Fifth Year | Eliza returned the bright smile to her professor as she took her seat. She hoped he hadn't been sitting at the Gobstones matches and wondering where his singing/shouting/cheering partner was. She hadn't made it to as many matches as she'd wanted this year, and was feeling a little badly about it. But, here she was now, and she was proud of her housemates for all the excellent stone throwing, bouncing, and rolling they'd done.
She smiled at Min who sat on the ground next to her, and then eyed the materials Airey held in his hands. Looks like tin foil that Dad uses in his gadgets sometimes...and the white cardboard? Thick cardstock? Mounting for photos? Then she had an idea. "Professor, I think I've seen that heavy white cardboard used to reflect light before...at photoshoots? Maybe the silver...foil will be fastened to the cardboard to be extra reflective and sturdy? Like when muggle girls sit out and sunbathe with those silver boards pointed under their chins?" She'd never understood the desire to be tanner than you really were. Being pale was just fine with her.

Alexa BEAMED at the Professor. He'd noticed how well both she and Kat had done. "Thanks Professor! It's was loads of fun wrestling the snargaluff. I'm working on getting one of my own."
Oh good. No ice-cream. Excellent. She couldn't deal with anyone else being under the influence of anything for the rest of this term. It was all too much. As she noted, there were no foreigners this time to ruin things and she also noticed a certain best friend sitting over theeeeere but you know, she'll say nothing about that. Not yet.
Lex watched curiously as the Professor pulled the items from his pocket. Honestly, she had no idea what they had to do with anything but that wouldn't stop her from guessing so her hand shot up. "I think we're gonna enlarge them, use diffindo to get them into shape, turn that metal into something else--I haven't worked out all the details yet, then we're gonna reenact the story of Icarus, 'cept I don't suppose you'll actually let us try flying toward the sun--that's it!! We can make the shiny stuff bigger too, yeah? Then it can be the sun and we can have one of those dramatizations. We might even be able to enact tragic deaths to emphasis the lack of practicality in such an act. I imagine it'd be quite the useful lesson, especially for the Firsties with big dreams." And a SUPER solemn nod.
This was happening. Mhm.
