Follow the Groundskeeper down the street from the Hogsmeade platform, over a shady, steep, rock path, and down to the shore of the Black Lake.
A fleet of magical boats bob gently on the dark, deep lake, waiting for your arrival. Four first-years per boat, please, and be careful not to tip over.
The Giant Squid might be looking for a feast tonight too.

Tightly hugging robe that she wore, Aphrodite turned to the groundskeeper who was shouting "Firs 'years, this way!"; She found Theodore who was waving at her, saying, "See you there, Lil' Sis!" Aphrodite waved him back as she walked toward the Groundskeeper that she spotted earlier.

Hogwarts. Castle of dreams. Hehe.
Amara walked towards the groundskeeper who was shouting slowly. Take time, admire the castle from here. She saw Fro waving at some older guy, probably her brother. She caught her eye and smiled.
Four students per boat?
She spotted the little boats that bobbed on the deck. Good lord. She signaled to Fro while she went towards a considerably okay looking boat. They could go together, right? Or if she wanted to go with someone else.
Zyanya, Me, Nats and Fro. Now that's a super four.
She hopped into the boat and called to the other three.
"Oye" she called to Zyanya and Nats, walking together, who were the furthest. "Got us a boat" she said, in case they wondered why. They should.
"Fro" she called to the girl who was looking at her brother. "Hop in" We're going to Hogwarts.

Zyanya was feeling great. Here they were at last. The boats. She heard the groundskeeper and followed the voice. She saw Amara and Fro standing there already. She waved to them.
"Coming!" She shouted to Amara who had found them a boat. Nice. They could all go on the same boat. She turned around to call Nats who was coming just behind her.
Well, and who wouldn't want to navigate a shady, steep, rocky path down to the water's edge in the growing darkness? Nobody else seemed to mind, though, and Tyr admitted to himself that it was actually kind of fun. It would have been absolute misery if he had to haul his trunk down with him, but just by himself... yeah, this was fun.
And now to get in one of the boats. Those received a critical eye, until he reasoned to himself that they must have some kind of anti-tipping charm on them, right? Right. In he climbed.

Boats....very interesting.
Alexia wasn't exactly sure what she thought about riding boats to get to the school. After all the path down to the boats was a little scary to walk down and the lake looked rough and therefore a little scary. Now she just had to find a boat to get into. There was one with only one other guy in it. "Hiiiiii, can I join you?" she said with a smile as she climbed into the boat, because she wasn't going to wait for an answer. Unfortunately the waves were rocking the boat so she fell over.
Sighing because she was being so clumsy she picked herself off the bottom of the boat and stuck her hand out to the boy who was already sitting there. "I'm Alexia Thorne," she said with a smile. "But you can call me Lexi." After all that was what everyone called her, except for her sister Natalia who sometimes called her Cass. But nobody needed to know those details. She looked at the lake and hoped that it wouldn't be too rough to cross.
Kace was getting off the train. He was nervous and he seemed so tiny compared to other students. Then he heard a voice "Firs' years, this way!" Kace knew it was referring to him. Kace then saw boats in the water. He loved the water back at home.
He waited by the side of the boat. He had no partners. But he climbed into a boat with a lonely ravenclaw. Maybe he could make a friend?
Natasha made her way to the little boat. She was the last one there, but she didn't mind. She was just grateful that they saved her a spot. "Thank you." She told them, with a smile as she set her owl in the boat. She climbed in best she could, still holding her kitten in one arm.
Natasha sat there for a second, just looking around. Then a thought occurred to her. "What do we do now?" She asked, noticing the little boat had no oars, and no kind of motor that she could see.
She was starting to get used to this particular group now, and was getting more comfortable with them. What ever they had to do to get to the castle, she was sure they could figure it out.

Tyr looked up at the girl and nodded, "Sure, I don't mind if you..."
!!!
He gave a bit of a flailed scramble to reach her before she fell over, but seeing as he was already seated it turned into more of a backwards twisting lunge that failed rather miserably.
"..." A little confused at her quick recovery, he took the offered hand and shook it, "Tyrion Everard. Tyr. Do you... fall over a lot, Lexi?"
Seriously, it was like that sigh she gave was one of resignation, as if she'd accepted she would be toppling into boats for the rest of her life.

Tyr looked over at the boy who climbed into the boat, determined to at least rescue this boat buddy should anything happen. But it didn't, and once the newcomer was safely seated he said, "Hi. I'm Tyr, this is Lexi."

Aphrodite felt very calm when Natasha rejoined them. Aphrodite had almost entered the train again, but before she could go to find her, Natasha has been there not so far away from them. "You're very welcome, Natasha!" Aphrodite said with a smile. Aidan had told her to not made too much movements when riding the boat, and it will run by itself to the Boat House which will be their entrance into Hogwarts. "We'd better wait, Natasha. Seems to me soon we're leaving to there," she added with a smile towards Natasha.

Lexi giggled as her boat buddy tried to help her as she fell over, but she had recovered quickly. "Hi Tyr," she said with a smile. His next question made her laugh though. "Yeah, I'm a little clumsy sometimes," after all her sister did call her Clumsy Lex all the time. "Especially when it comes to tippy things like this boat." Or perhaps she was just imagining it being extremely tippy because Tyr seemed like he had no problems getting in compared to Lexi's horrible attempt.
Then another boy had joined the boat. "Hiiiii," she said brightly to the new arrival who seemed to have a much easier time getting into the boat than she had. At least he wasn't doomed to her fate of falling into the boat. "I think we should name our boat," she said looking towards the two other boys. "Any ideas?" Lexi was sure that at least one of them would have an interesting idea.

"Okay." Natasha said. Waiting was not very easy for her at all. "Wait for what?" She asked curiously. Natasha did use the time to get a good look around though
Forrest felt much nicer compared to the beginning of the train journey. He'd met FOUR people on the train too--three of them from the awesome Gryffindor house. All was going well, and he could even manage to follow the man that yelled on top of his lungs ('Firs' years, this way!') easily despite the crowd pouring out of the train. Soon enough, the crowd was left behind though as they were left only the first years--and he narrowed his eyes to see what was ahead.
And he was frozen on the spot momentarily when he made it out.
They were going to ride in boats! He couldn't decide what to feel--it was a close call between being TERRIFIED and THRILL. It was so DARK, and yet it was water--the very thing he liked the most. So, mouth smiling but a bit of fear in the eyes, he finally moved to follow the others too and stood there as he tried to see who would want him on their boat--or whether he needed a new one.

Since they were all busy throwing names around, why not name the boat as well? That made sense to him. He thought about what the older Lex had told him earlier, to think about armies and such, and suggested, "Whatever we name it, it should start with H.M.S. All the official ships start with H.M.S."
On noticing the lone student standing on the dock, Tyr raised a hand and waved him over, "Over here! Sit with us!"
Arlene was once again baffled by the magic she was seeing. She had long since stopped thinking Why didn't dad tell me about this...this is awesome! but instead was being so intrigued by everything that had even the slightest ounce of magic in it.
As of yet, Arlene didn't know anyone, let alone anyone in first year. Even though she was alone when she climbed into one of the boats, she was still smiling from ear to ear.

Having to leave the Slytherin girl that she'd been with for the end of the train trip, Kahlan found herself walking towards the boats with a group of other first years, and she was absolutely terrified. Kahlan HATED boats, especially considering it was DARK!!!! Why would you ever cross a lake in a really small boat while it was dark? It made no sense to her at all!!!
Seeing a boy that was alone she quickly made her way over to him, figuring that rather than being alone they might as well go together. Besides it gave her a chance to meet another person that was going to be in her year! That was exciting enough!
"Hi... um do you mind if I go in a boat with you?" she asked, cocking her head to the side as she sent the boy a smile, her fingers crossed behind her back. It would just be way too awkward for her if he said no!

Down the rock-strewn path and nearing the Black Lake, Ali checked behind him to make sure he had everyone. Spotting no stragglers, he nonetheless called out behind him to make sure. "Hurry it up, yeh lot. Firs' years, this way!"
Several of them had scrambled down the steep bank faster than himself, so they were already climbing into boats. He repeated his command, "Four per boat, now, jus' four." No one was breaking the rule, but it couldn't hurt to remind them.
"We'll wait jus' another minute for the stragglers an' then we'll head out!" he called, his voice booming forth across the still lake.
Bay jumped off the drain at a bit of a run. She had gotten mixed up with her robes and was totally behind. Thankfully she was small so weaving in and out of the crowd quickly was easy so she was at the boat dock before you could even think about late arrivals. Skidding to a halt the 11 year old looked at the rickety looking boats with a little apprehension but tons of people had gone before her so....
Gulp!
Her green eyes looked around at the other first years. Ugh, so this was where she supposed to find a partner right? Bay started chewing on her lip.

But she was sure she hadn't seen many first years at the station. Maybe there were less firsties this term. Can't be. We'll be star students then. Hehe. Each a house, maybe.
"I think the boats will start moving once all students come" she thought aloud. With the school being magical and all, wouldn't hurt to show off a bit, would it?

Aphrodite who had been observing the surrounding environment now feel very excited, because the moment she along with other first year students will start their adventures at Hogwarts. See, Forrest had always admired people that were outgoing. He had never been one, as can be seen now with his hesitation to whether get on one. He wanted to join a group already formed, but it was his shyness at work and he made his way towards one of the empty boats...
...and then he heard someone calling him over. He looked up and smiled at the boy. But before he could say something, another girl asked him whether he wanted to ride with her--and that boy's boat had already three students, so it'd be rude to the girl if he went with them. He could do without broken hearts, thank you.
"Yes of course--I mean, I don't mind--we can go in the same boat," he rambled and blushed lightly at his idiocy. Hopefully, the dark would cover his burning ears. As he waited for her to get on first (manners--and he'd help her too if she tripped over) he searched for the boy that called him over.
"Thanks mate, we've found a boat," he said with a liiiiitle tremble in his voice--he wouldn't HATE him for not riding with them, right?!

Now they only need to wait for Natasha to come.
Zyanya clambered into the boat, closely followed by Natasha. They were all here. She saw the other first years coming towards the boats. She realised they were the only ones who already knew each other. She smiled. They were a like a group now. She wished that atleast one of them would be in her house. Otherwise she would be alone.
She sat down and waited for the boats to move. She knew the boats were operated through magic. She couldn't wait.

She heard the groundskeeper shout to them and she sighed. They were off any second now. Yay! She and her friends were going to Hogwarts. And hopefully they would be in the same house. She saw Amara shouting back to the groundskeeper and grinned. She brought her hands up to hi5 her sister.
Natasha could not help getting excited. The anticipation was building, and she was finding it difficult to sit still. She was trying to be careful though, she did not want to be the one to tip a boat.
Any minute though, she would be at the school. and the start of her new life, with her new friends.

Many of the firsties had arrived and settled in their boats. They were bound to start any minute now. She could see the excitement building up in the others. Their eyes reflected fireworks. Faces lit like the thousand candles. Eying the castle with awe and looking at others. Amara stiffed a grin. Children. She did look up at the castle slightly visible at the far end, but it wasn't much. She didn't get any feeling...home? dream? excitement? NO?
Nope.
Maybe her mother was right. She was feeling-less. But who knows... even she could have some feeling buried deep inside her? You wish.
