Hogwarts Board of Governors Polling Location

Located on the ground floor of Hogwarts, in a large room just off the Entrance Hall, is a line of booths decorated with shiny pink-purple velvet drapes and a variety of anti-cheating, anti-fraud, and anti-dark magic counter charms.

Before you can get to the booths, though, and can receive your super important ballot, you must check in at the long wooden table in front of them. Be sure to have your wand and one form of identification ready for when you step up to the table, as the Board of Elections employees are trying to keep this process running smoothly and quickly to accommodate as many voters as possible.

Once you have been checked in, you'll be handed either an Official Board of Governors Election Ballot, or a Hogwarts Mock Election ballot, depending on your age. Whether you're a 17+ member of the community or an underage wizard, you're free to use one of the handsome booths now to cast your vote. Remember, only pick nine candidates and do not leave any voting paraphernalia in the booth you use.

On your way out, don't forget to turn your ballot into the locked charm ballot safe near the check-in! Thank you for exercising your right to vote!

OOC NOTE: While we do have an actual Board of Elections played by members from the Minister's Office in the Ministry, you do not have to wait for them to RP your character voting. Just be considerate and do not RP in detail for someone else. =) And remember, only fill out the actual questionnaire once! It's good for three characters!

That's right, Milton was being an ADULT. Voting was like, old adult people stuff and it was kind of weird being old enough to do it. But at the same time he felt pretty cool because he could essentially make a difference for Hogwarts...

Wait, why did he care? He was leaving Hogwarts next month... Oh well. It was still COOL.

With his wand in his robes, Milton walked up to the long wooden table and waited to be checked in. Woohoo.

Sierra was sort of meh about voting. She was way too focused on graduation and getting out of here. She could care less what happened once she shut the doors behind her.

...or, that had been the line of thinking until two important little factors popped up in her mind. One, she had a mother who worked here, and she most definitely cared how her mother was treated. Then two, her little sister would likely attend one day, and she cared how Ariadne was treated, too.

...and so here she was, voting. With her wand in one hand and identification in the other, Sierra checked in then entered a voting booth. She'd talked with her father beforehand, and they'd discussed voting. She was sure they'd end up voting for the same people anyway. She quickly chose the nine she'd thought to be the best then turned in her ballot.

Penelope, honestly, hadn't really paid a whole lot of attention to the Board of Governors thing, at least beyond anything that actually affected her. She knew a few that were running, and she knew who some people she knew really liked, and she had glanced over a few of those pamphlets that went around briefly, but she didn't really go out of her way to participate or find out what exactly went on.

But still, she decided she'd vote. Even if her vote wouldn't really count since she was only allowed to vote in the "mock" election. Because apparently beyond the old of age people, no one thought that what the students wanted actually mattered. At least that was how it seemed to her. But still, she'd vote in this just for the heck of it.

Besides, it gave her a reason to procrastinate on some homework some more, so that was good.

The fourteen-year-old quickly checked in with her wand and identification thing, then accepted a mock election ballot and went to a booth. She glanced over the list, writing a few names down immediately but then slowly adding others. Her reasoning for choosing some might have been a bit flawed, but she went with it anyway. And quite soon, she was done and was turning it in.

Yay voting and mock election and stuff.

Feo was growing more tedious with time, it took Botros way too long to convince the Crup to wait for him in the office while he took care of some business. It was like the Crup knew the old man took ages to walk around the castle with this cane of his.

Ab walked down the grand stairs to the Entrance Hall and just before he reached it, he made a turn for the room with the ballot booths. He went for the main wooden table first, smiling widely at the employees and shaking hands. He didn't have to swear up and down that he was old enough to vote, fortunately, so it didn't take much standing before he moved on to one of the booths and plopped down on the stool, leaned his cane by his side and opened the paper.

One downside was him remembering the names of those he like in the debate that day. He came up with a small song that combined their names and committed to humming it all around his office when he was alone, so now he was ready to quickly choose those in his song!

After a little while, the seventy-seven years old grabbed his cane again and folded the paper while heading out of the booth, nodding his head at the students practicing their voting right probably for the first time, and headed toward one of the employees. He handed back the ballot, bid them good day and headed for the door with his cane making small clicks on the stony floor.

Hecate made her way to the voting booth, sure of how she'd vote. She voted quietly, and then left, returning to her office.

The third debate had really helped Anastasia decide who she was going to vote for, so she walked over to the voting booths with some confidence that day. The redhead nearly laughed when she was forced to hand over her I.D., though the laugh was just to cover her nervousness over someone having proof of her being 40 in their hands. Hopefully no nosy students were lurking nearby.

Once she had her ballot in hand, she sashayed into a booth, quickly and cleanly marked her ballot, and then sashayed out, depositing it in the box as she left. Quick and simple, that was how she did it. Hopefully the other voters especially her staff voted the correct way today.

Alyssa had already decided whom she was going to vote for. With her wand and her U.S. Driver's license, as her form of identification, in one hand, Alyssa stood in line and checked in before taking her ballot and entered the voting booth.

She clearly marked out her choices before picking it up and depositing in the box. She had made her choice. She had let her voice be heard.

Nerida was excited about the voting but hadn't really been into the whole election thing. She had other things on her mind, like the upcoming tests... But she did care what happened while she was still here and what happened when her younger siblings started going here.

She held her wand in one hand and her identification in the other, Nerida checked in then quietly entered a voting booth. She tried to remember the conversation her godmother had, had with her. No pressures should affect your vote, it should be just your opinion? Something like that. Plus the muggle studies classes helped with this. She quickly chose the nine she'd thought to be the best then turned in her ballot.

All done, now to go do other important things.

Anya walked hand-in-hand with her boyfriend as they approached the polling location. Sure. It was only a mock election. But she should support her brother. And. Jake should too, apparently.

She flashed him a little smile before dropping his hand. She turned in her wand and her student ID and waited to be given a ballot. Once that was safely in hand, she helped herself to one of the curtained booths. She carefully cast her votes. Partially. She realized she didn't really pay too much attention and didn't know as many people as she should have. Whoops.

This was especially bad because she was on the committee.

Oh well. She filled out what she could and figured it wasn't too bad because her vote didn't technically count. She then left the booth and turned in her ballot.

Election Day!!

Callie had taken some time to think hard about the choices on the future Board of Governor's ballot and had even consulted her cards a bit but she had mostly made up her mind before that. The people who had their thoughts and ideas in line with her own and the school's were those who she would be voting for today.

The blonde entered the room set aside for the voting and approached the table where she presented her wand and after fishing though the many pockets of her skirt, her I.D. Once she was approved and given her ballot the Divination professor entered a booth and closed the curtain.

She grinned as she marked her choices and then exited to put her card in the box. She then jingled off to the Great Hall to get some potatoes.

Wearing one of his more official looking suits - which meant solid color and no pinstripes or bright colors - Airey approached the Ministry official and handed over his wand and Astronomer Royal badge. Not like this particular official was unfamiliar with him or anything. During the course of the term the professor was convinced that he had met half of the Ministry by now.

Okay, so that was an exaggeration, but the astronomer had never been a fan of Ministry officials being within Hogwarts' walls and meddling about. Historically it had just never turned out well.

Once he had his ballot, he entered the booth and began to think things over a bit more. The only one of the debates he had really been able to attend had been the first one, so he was mostly going off hearsay from the other two. Still, he knew two names that he for sure would be putting down since they had shown an interest in the noble subject that is astronomy. Writing down his 9 names of choice, he turned in his ballot and then headed back towards the astronomy tower.

He had some setting up to do before it became too dark.

Ahhh the day had come and Hops couldn't be happier. The debates and the Election had been fun in it's own rite but the Board of Governor's Treasurer was just happy to finally find out who would be helping Cassandra, Ian and himself out.

The Three Broomsticks owner strolled into the room set aside for voting near the Board's room in the Castle and smiled brightly at the other witches and wizards in the room: students and Professors alike it seemed. He handed the Elector wizard his wand and I.D, although he should know who he was but legality and all.

Once he had his ballot the salt-and-pepper haired man entered the booth and quickly picked his names--little to no hesitation about it.

The curtains flicked open and he dropped his ballot into the box with a smile. Now off to serve his customers and hope for the bright future ahead.

VOTING!!! Okay so maybe not exactly voting seeing as her vote didn't count but it was still voting because she still got to get out her quill and tick stuff and be awesome about her choices.

She entered the room juuuuust a little hyped up on candy, with a wide grin across her face. For a moment she looked around at all the people who could actually vote. See, she might have been jealous but then she remembered it meant they were all old and probably couldn't still depend on their daddies to buy them chocolate frogs 'cause they'd have to get their own. Yeah. So not gonna be jealous of that. All she hoped was that the people who turned out to vote and actually could, had a brain. No one needed people who weren't going to vote for Vinteren. It just didn't work like that. It didn't.

Her first stop was the table. Lex pulled out her wand and showed it to them, just showed. There was a zero to none percent chance of her handing it over. She didn't know where their hands had been; probably touching people who weren't voting Vinteren. Not something she was willing to risk. As for Identification... "Umm...I don't think I got anything really--unless you want my report card, proves I'm me. You'd just uh...have to ignore the grades and focus on the fact that I'm who I say I am. If it helps, I'm twelve!" BEAM.

Everything could be played down with a beam. Everything.

Was she all clear? Could she go fake!vote now??? Yeah? Okay! Once she was done being eyed then handed the ballot she skipped over to a booth and ticked the names of people who seemed nice. Sticklers on the Board wouldn't have been very good. Not to her anyway.

Rock the vote, baby, rock the vote!

Peyton sang that in her head as she skipped to where the voting polls were being held. She was excited to vote and let her voice be heard. Yeah, yeah, she was still too young to ACTUALLY vote, but she wanted to try this thing either way. Her dad had Owled her and told her him and her mother were going to vote - not that she cared what her mother did - but she wanted to be just like her dad, so she was voting as well.

Whipping her wand out, she presented it. Peyton didn't have any other for of identification, so the official would just have to settle for her beautiful wand. After getting that taken care of, she slid into a booth and checked off the candidates she was voting for. Of course her favorite was the first one checked.

Ooooh, hopefully she could send him sugar buns. :3

Check...check...check...check...and check.

Peyton submitted her not-so-real ballot and skipped away the same way she had come in. That was enough work for the day, she was off to get some food now.

Oh. Right. Voting time. Although Kat didn't really want to be here for voting, she thought maybe it would make a change with the way Hogwarts was being ran. If she was to be going to be learning her education in here until her seventh year, she'd want the best not only for her but for every student enrolled and sent here. That sounded so Hufflepuff of herself but her mum would like that. And her dad too. It seemed really family-oriented of her, but Kat did care.

Kat went to check in at that loooooong table. She had her fingers clamped around her wand and on the other hand she had her identification. Whatever it was needed for. Didn't the wand suffice already for security purposes stuff? It totally didn't seem like it cos they looked so precise with security and fraud and those stuff. Ugh. First time for elections in here. She'd give it a shot.

After the identification stuff, she took her mock election ballot (?!?!) and went to one of the pretty booths for voting. Her candidate choice was easy. TOO easy. She knew who to vote for, and maybe that was why she went here as well. To make sure THESE people get in the Board of Governors. Yeah she got their names in there now. Yay.

So... time to drop the ballot inside one of those safe thingies. Kat slipped her ballot in it and went off. She was done now. Yeah. Her next place to go was the common room. She wanted a nap. TTFN. Ta ta for now.

Oakey walked into the Entrance Hall Room and looked around his face filled with embarressment as a certain little old lady Grandmother followed right behind him, why she was in Hogsmeade at this time he'd have to find out later. He was also upset about having to vote in the mock election. He followed the Election as closely as possible, but the ageline has somehow slipped him by! You had to be Seventeen by April First, he turned seventeen on April Thirteenth...just his luck. He had figured if he was allowed to take apparition class now he didn't tell GeeGee he failed his first exam he could vote too. Nope, Oakey grabbed a mock ballot, gave the person his wand and school I.D. filled out his votes as the ballot mocked him silently, and dropped it in the mock ballot safe. Done, can he go back to his Common Room now...he eyed his GeeGee.

She was so excited to see her Oakey! It was just perfect timing that she would be in Hogsmeade at the same time voting would occur at Hogwarts not to far away. She nudged the boy along as she neared the front, she waved her hand to Abraham who wasn't to far ahead of her. Such a nice man he was, same house as Augustus she recalled...Hufflepuff, or was it Ravenclaw. Oh now that didn't matter anymore.
She handed the nice person sitting at the table by the booths her wand and a very very old and worn out Hogwarts I.D. It read Kathryn North; Gryffindor House. She took it back and cackled handing them an actual I.D. of hers then proceeded to vote. Once she finished she she dropped her ballot in the safe box and nudged Oakey along who stopped for no apparent reason.

Narumi was super excited that she got to vote! She held her wand in one hand and in her other her identification. When she reached the front she handed them over and waited patiently for one of those ballots. After receiving one she walked into one of the voting booths and marked her nine. She turned back towards the table and handed it in and said "Bye!" with a big grin.

Mika walked up to the ballot box and just stared at it. She looked around as she cocked her head to the side and glanced at her blank ballot. What was she going to do? Who was she going to vote for? She knew she should vote for that woman she fell asleep on - as pittance and all.

She frowned at the ballot and made a little whimpery noise. She had no idea WHO she was going to vote for. Seriously. She was practically gnawing on her lip as she looked over her ballot and stood there wavering over the idea of handing it in.

VOTE!!! Thats what everyone was saying... So he was here. It made him feel all American and everything. It wasn't like his voting mattered a whole lot, since he didn't get an official say, but he was going to show stupid Alexa that that guy who was bribing people was no good. Hastily scribble/voting, he ran back up to the castle. Done.
