Katrina Rayne was not nervous, no. She was just drinking this coffee because she needed to stay awake; or at least that was what she told herself. She stood at the front of the room, a smile on her face. She straightened her blouse and her blazer, smoothed out her hair for the millionth time since she had woken up this morning. Katrina needed to look perfect for this thing; an outfit could make someone seem more powerful or something of that sort right? Of course, which was why she had chosen what she was wearing. Now all she needed was an audience and all was good.
There was a chalkboard that was behind Katrina though she had a feeling she wouldn't really need it. There was a fun lesson planned, yes. She had a lot of help with the planning too. There were some seats but they weren't exactly necessary for what Katrina had planned for the lesson. No, there was definitely something better planned.
The blonde Ministry worker took another drink of her coffee and waited.
OOC: Hey! Lesson will start in about six to seven hours. Hope you're all as excited as I am... which is very excited, in case you were wondering.

Alyssa entered the classroom ready for another opportunity to practice apparating. As she walked in she noticed a different instructor in the room.
Walking up to her, Alyssa greeted her, "Hello Ma'am. I'm Alyssa and thank you for coming here to teach us how to apparate. I'm really looking forward to the lesson." Alyssa smiled before finding a seat and waiting for the other students to show up.

Another apparition lesson. Jory wasn't feeling his usual self and he was easily distracted. He knew he would be having a more difficult time this round. "Hi, good day, Ma'am,'' he said as he entered the room and noticed an unfamiliar face- a different instructor.
The boy looked around. "Hey. Alyssa,'' he said with a smile as he took a seat. Now they just had to wait on the others.

SECOND APPARATION LESSON!
Feeling pumped and ready to go, Dylan proceeded to the room just off the Great Hall. He'd been here once before...when Mrs. Kettleburn had been doing that dancing seminar. She'd been quite lovely and full of energy.
It had been good times.
Not seeing the lady from the previous lesson, the Slytherin proceeded in, grabbing a seat. No, it was a woman that looked MUCH younger. Hmmm.

Alyssa smiled and waved as Jory entered the classroom and sat down next to her. "Hey Jory good to see you again. So are you ready for today? I have to say that I'm apprehensive after what happened at the last lesson. It wasn't a nice experience overall." Alyssa confided in him sighing sadly.

Another apparation lesson? Interesting.
Now what would they do today? The last lesson told all the theory things about Apparation, so perhaps they would practice it? Maybe. Gary quickly ran to the classroom and noticed that the instructor was already there. Well, she wasn't the woman that taught them at the last class. Well, whatever. "Hello.. miss." said him politely and took the seat.

Yawnnn. Gabi wasn't too thrilled to be here, dealing with little children again and all the screaming and yelling that would inevitably come about with the splinching. Still, she needed to be there in case Katrina couldn't handle the kids--she had confidence in her of course, but you could never predict with kids. Never hurt to have an extra pair of eyes on the kids.
"Hello Katrina," she said with a soft smile as she entered the room, smoothing down her long blonde hair with her perfectly manicured fingers as she took her place at the front of the room. She scanned the students who were there with a piercing gaze--as if to say no messing around or you're gonna GET it!

Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Oakey hurried his way into the extra classroom that would be holding the apparation lesson. He took the time between the last class and this one keeping himself slightly calm. Okay well he had some nice hot tea before this class started. That should be enough though.
Oh hey it was the lady from before off in the corner. She didn't look like she would be teaching today because there was another woman in the class this time with her. "Hiya."
Oakey said to the lady with a smile on his face, yup clear mind. Nothing going on in there at all..in a good way.
Breeeeathe iiiin. Breeeaaathe out. Iiiiiin and Ouuuuuut. No this was not a meditation session. Iiiin and Ouuut! Pause then Gulp. No walking hands. There's no walking hands. Right?
The red head had to convince herself quite some time before the second apparation lesson that things were going to be alright. It wouldn't be like last time, nope she refused to let it be like last time but then if she had to be honest she was still rather frightened.
Taking one last big deep breathe the Hufflepuff entered the classroom trying to look decent. She eyed the chairs and decided to remain standing because she was no in the mood of falling on her bottom once more.
"Morning." That was directed to all adults in the room.
So then..apparation lesson two, Here we come?

Katrina wondered exactly how many people would show up to this lesson. Would there be many students? A handful? None. These thoughts were making her even more nervous about this lesson. Oh, she did hope that no one- Katrina shook her head, trying to rid herself of the thoughts before finishing off the rest of her coffee. There was a lesson to run and if all the other professors could do it, so could she. Oh look there was a student already.
Students didn't bite right?

She watched as each one entered. They were all very polite, weren't they? With their hellos and hi's and the whatnot. And calling her ma'am. That was something new. Katrina wasn't used to that. Did that mean she was becoming old? "Hello, welcome," she said, greeting each one. Before another person showed up who was definitely not a student.

So then..apparation lesson two, Here we come?
Was that the rest of the students? "Hello," Katrina greeted the two before she looked at the girl. Was.... she going to take a seat? Well, Katrina couldn't make her sit, right? Well, actually she could but there had to be a reason the girl didn't want to so she wouldn't.
Right. So she supposed she ought to start the lesson, shouldn't she? Was this really all the seventh and sixth year students? Really. Katrina cleared her throat and smiled at everyone. "Hello, I'm Katrina Rayne, you can call me Katrina, Miss Rayne, Miss Katrina, really, I'm fine if you call me by my first name," Katrina rambled before brushing her hair out of her eyes. Did she sound nervous? She didn't sound nervous right? She really hoped not. "So, in the last lesson, Miss Schultz taught you guys about what Apparition is and how you apparate," Katrina continued. "And today we will be applying what you all learned in the previous lesson, but before we do so, let's do a quick review of the basics of Apparition." That sounded right, didn't it? Yes, it did. Everything was going fine and as long as if she continued to tell herself that, it would be fine. She smiled at the students there, "Splinching occurs when a person disapparates incorrectly and to avoid that today we will be using the three D's of Apparation, which is destination, determination and deliberation." Katrina tapped on the chalkboard behind her and on it the three words came up in large capital letters. "So before we get into Apparating, which I'm sure you're all very eager to do, can someone tell me how each the three D's of Apparition are linked to each other to avoid splinching?"
Because she wanted to make sure the students all knew it before they decided to pop themselves from one place to another and lose an arm. Katrina did not want to see any splinching. Then again, the students had practiced last time, right? Hopefully this time they would be able to do it better or something. Practice did make perfect. Though focus would be wonderful too.
OOC: Eep. Sorry for starting this late. Was just giving time for more of you guys to be here~ If you still want to participate but wasn't here before Katrina started speaking, just pretend you were here the whole time.

Alyssa thought for awhile. She had remembered her Professor back in Salem mentioning something about their connection. Slowly raising her hand, she hazarded a guess.
"Miss Katrina, the way three D's of Apparation are linked to each other to avoid splinching is that one must be completely determined to reach their destination, and to get there, one must move without haste but with deliberation."
Did she make sense? Alyssa would know soon enough.
Ethan was rather thankful that there was another Apparation lesson being offered, even if he was still slightly freaked out about splinching. He hadn't even been able to Apparate once last time, not after seeing Daichi's separated hand laying on the floor. But he really wanted to learn how to do it and he knew it wasn't going to happen without lessons.
And so he pushed his apprehension back to the farthest recesses of his mind and did his best to focus on today's lesson. He could totally do this. The seventeen year old listened to the first question, then to Alyssa's answer. She summed it up fairly concisely, he thought, but decided to add just a bit more. Raising his hand, he offered, "You also need to picture your destination clearly in your mind.. it helps if you've been there before.. That will deter against splinching if you visualize yourself appearing at your destination." At least that's what his mother told him.. and, you know, just to add to what Alyssa already said.

Jory raised his hand. He wasn't sure of what he was going to say but he would give it a try anyway. "The three D's are linked in the way of picturing the destination very clearly in the mind, be determined to get there and to get there without any hesitation.''

Sierra nodded when Alyssa spoke up. Right. She agreed with what the Puffer said. "I agree with Alyssa," Sierra said, raising her hand. "If you're not really focusing on what's going on, you pretty much ruin the transportation process. It's like casting a spell. You know, when you have to concentrate and put all your focus into it. You have to do the same with apparating. Only, you probably have to be a whole lot better at it."
Intensively, Renesmee listened to what the second apparation instructor had to say. This was a class that no matter how tired or distracted she was, Ness tried her best to pay attention for the simple reason that she did NOT want to get splinched...ever.
She slightly raised her hand at the question to answer, or more like guess an answer but then changed her mind putting the hand down again. Listening was the better option for now was what she decided.
Just like before she did her best to concentrate and listened to each and every single thing that was said about how the three D's of apparation linked to stop splinching. This was vital information and it was information Nessie wanted to remember.
Katrina nodded as she listened to what the students all said. "You're all right, you have to be determined to reach your destination and move with deliberation," she said, a smile on her face. Oh, these kids were all so bright and smart. "So, today, to help you get used to using the three D's, we'll be playing a game of sorts. Instead of apparating into hoops, we'll be apparating onto giant lily pads," Katrina continued, beaming. And she was definitely excited to get that started. "So if you would all please, just get up from your seats we can start," Katrina said before waving her wand and voila a pool appeared.
The pool was dotted with giant lily pads. "The objective is to not fall off of it. If you apparate to the edge of the lily pad, you're bound to fall off and into the pool, let's avoid that." Katrina didn't want to deal with any sick children. "Remember the three D's when apparating." Just in case they forgot.

Short, sweet, and to the point. She made a mental note to congratulate Katrina later for not going off on tangents and getting distracted and such. So far so good! And now they were starting the activity, which Gabi was actually really interested to see--it sounded really good on paper, would it be that great in practice? She hoped so! It was really an ingenius way to practice apparition, props to the team that came up with that before she arrived at the department.

Oakey stood up from his seat and stood by the edge of Pool. He was sure people were going to fall in, him included. "If we fall in can we just climb back onto the lily pad we missed, or do we need to start back from the beginning?"
He'd prefer the former. The Katrina lady said this was a game though, a game like this usually meant starting from the beginning if you failed the first time. It was like one of Aegis' muggle video games.

Alyssa stood up when the instructor told them to and then gaped in awe when she saw the instructor make a pool of water appear in the middle of the classroom. There were giant lily pads floating on them. 'Oh please don't tell me that we're supposed to land on those.' Alyssa thought to herself. To her dismay, the instructor confirmed that fact in her next set of instructions.
Alyssa shook her head before standing at the edge of the pond. 'Okay Alyssa you can do this. It looks more difficult but you can do this....and even if you don't, a little water isn't going to kill you.' Alyssa told herself as she looked around for the largest lily pad there was. The larger the easier to land.
Um.... lily pads? Yeah..there wasn't a chance Ness was able to do that. She was barely able to even apparate one centimeter and the water...why couldn't they mention bringing swimming costumes or something? Trying to hide her nervousness the red head breathed in and out more and more. She looked at all the lily pads and the swimming pool bellow it, yeah she was bound to get soaked.
Oakeys question! Genius. The red head paused before even taking one closer step towards the water. The thought of falling and starting all over again was not pleasant because well then the only place Ness could see herself staying was the start.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Jory looked at the lily pads. "Brilliant,'' he thought. It would certainly motivate them to try to apparate on the pads. Though if they prefer to fall in the water it won't matter.
He tried to clear his mind but he had so much going on in there. "Think of splinching,'' he thought. "You won't want that to happen to you, right?'' Nope, he certainly didn't wan that to happen. "You did it last time and you can can do it this time as well.'' All he need to do was concentrate.
There's some good in this world and it's worth fighting for| LOTR|Whovian|Sherlock Fan
Alyssa's eyes narrowed down on the giant lily pad that she would attempt to apparate onto. She closed her eyes, first visualizing herself standing where she was, then disappearing and apparating over to stand right in the middle of the lily pad. Concentrating hard on the image, Alyssa opened her eyes and stared at the lily pad.
'...move from here...to there....from this spot...to the middle of the lily pad.' Alyssa thought to herself even as she visualized herself doing it. Taking a deep breath and concentrating really hard on what she wanted to do and where she wanted to be, Alyssa moved her left foot back and quickly turned on the spot.
She felt that same twisting motion she had felt the last time she had practiced apparating and then everything stopped moving. Alyssa quickly looked down and found herself on the lily pad....and then falling backwards. She flailed her arms frantically trying to catch her balance but failed and fell into the pool.
SSSPPPLLLAAASSHHH!!
Alyssa emerged headfirst from the water, dripping wet and spitting out water. 'Thank goodness for clean water.' Alyssa thought to herself. Even as she stood in the pool of water, she analyzed what had gone wrong. She had landed on the lily pad but not right in the middle, but rather closer to the edge. That of course caused her to fall.
Slowly climbing out of the pool, Alyssa stood on the side of it dripping wet. Taking out her wand, she pointed it at herself and moving it in two counter clockwise circles up and down her front and back, she said, "Siccus Aerous" casting the hot air charm and drying herself. Once she was dry, she made sure that she dried up the puddle of water under her feet before ending the spell.
Then she walked back to where she was originally standing and looked back at the lily pad. 'If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. Do or do not. There is no try....Wait! did I just contradict myself?' Alyssa giggled to herself before she took a deep breath, letting it out slowly and began to concentrate on apparating again.
