The Kitchen

Directly below the Great Hall is the Hogwarts kitchen, complete with five tables identical to and directly below those of the Great Hall. The house elves are hard at work preparing your next meal but they're always willing to prepare an after-hours snack to those students who are brave enough to tickle their pear.

Be sure to make yourself heard over the din of the many, many pots and pans!

OOC: Please do not RP for the House Elves! We have a lovely group of actual elves who would love to RP with you if you will please be patient.

FOOD, FOOD, FOOD, FOOD! There was one thing these studentsies sure could do, and that was eat FOOD. Especially those boys in the higher years. Yesm, they had appetites like elephantses. Algamus grumbled noisily and, being rather hangry (hungry+angry), he began making his tons and tons of mashed potatoes with quite a bit of HMMMPHing. But no, he couldn't eat. No no no. He had to make food for the stampede of incoming studentsies!

His sweeping the floor could wait till these taters were DONE.

for Gwen too...I thinks? :3

HOME!

Well, to be fair, ALL of Hogwarts was like home to Kurumi but there was just something about the sights, smells, and noises of the Hogwarts kitchens that really made that feeling seem real. It solidified it all. Yes, she had been up to the common room and settled in. Even found Walnut and had been pleased that he hadn't peed on a first year yet, but all she wanted to do was get back in the kitchens. Back where she really felt in her element.

AND HERE SHE WAS and even among family it seemed.

Cookie recipe book out and clutched in her hands, Kurumi noticed Algamus busy sweeping the floor while a rather massive something was busy being cooked. "Hello, Algamus," Kurumi chirped as she approached one of the counters and set her recipe book on it, intending to flip through the pages to find something to bake. Something complicate perhaps. Not just a sugar cookie.

She was allowed here, right?

Elodie officially disliked sitting around in the common room, because there were a load of loud first years that were buggy. And she missed being eleven. Because then she could get away with crying a lot more, and wanting to go home. Oh, and then she'd be able to bounce on her bed without getting funny looks, because she was pretty sure that was what she would get if she did it in her dorm this term. SADFACE.

Tickling the pear was always something that made Elodie burst into giggles, so when she finally got into the kitchens, she was a giggling mess. OH! Hai! "Miss Kurumi!!!!" Elodie grinned, waving a hand at the older girl, as she came closer to her. Oh, how Elodie wanted to give her a BIG hug right now.

Kurumi continued to flip through her handmade recipe book, skipping over the cookies for now and heading towards the small but growing section on cupcakes when she heard her name being called. Well, not just her name but her name in a manner that could only mean one thing. Her almost favorite Hufflepuff.

Her favorite Hufflepuff was, well, Lewis. Tehehe. Although Treyen was well up there as well. So maybe it was a tie for first.

"Hey Elodie," Kurumi smiled. "How are you doing?"

Was Miss/Lady Kurumi making something? Oh wow! Eeep! Elodie almost felt like asking if she could help, but refrained. Because she might have been making something special for someone, and Els didn't exactly want to interrupt or mess things up if Kurumi was an amazing cook or something. Oh dear, Elodie wasn't exactly fantastic. She usually licked the spoon and helped to stir things, and demanded more chocolate was put it. So, yeah. Not the best.

Grinning, Elodie skipped a little bit closer to the older girl. "I'm okay! My bottom is better!" For good measure, she wiggled it, although she wasn't sure that even proved that the bruising had gone. But it had! Happyface!!!!! "How about you?" There was nothing wrong with asking questions in a sing song voice in a kitchen, was there?

Jayden entered the kitchen area quietly. Her mouth forming a huge grin. Last year she had been in here, but only once. She saw a familiar looking House Elf and stepped forward to greet him. "Hello there Algamus! Would you like some help with that?" She asked politely. Hopefully Jordan would be here soon....

Jordan scooted into the kitchens in his wheelchair, excited to see Jayden at last. He'd have to explain the whole chair situation but at least being able to see his friend would take his mind off of the whole summer. He looked around to find her, and saw that she was helping out a House Elf, that was nice especially as he was in no position to help anybody whilst he was stuck like this.

Jordan! He was here!

And in a wheelchair.......

"Oh my gosh! What happened to you Jordan?!"
Jayden's jaw dropped. Why hadn't she heard about this? What in Merlin's pants was going on?

"Do you need anything? Any help at all? Had I know you were hurt I wouldn't have asked you to come down here..." She groaned, shaking her head miserably.

Walking into the kitchen Annie sighed a bit as she looked around, seeing others already there and house elves busily running around the entire place. It was pretty cool though, and really large as well! Then she noticed the older lioness and grinned, skipping over to her as she noticed the cookie recipe book she was holding.

“Hey Kurumi” she said happily as she showed up looking at her. “Do you mind if I watch to see what’s happening? Or help?” she suddenly asked, pointing towards the recipe book. She wanted… no needed to know how to make those cookies!

Besides she was a seventh year, meaning that she’d be gone next year… she definitely needed to learn!

Kurumi really was glad to see that the second year wasn't trembling or on the verge of tears this time. She had been very VERY concerned for the poor thing while on the platform and in the carriages. It almost seemed as though she would never let go of Kurumi's hand there for a while - which would have eventually cut off the circulation to her hand and that would have been bad. "Oh, well, that's good," she laughed in reply. Better bottom, always good to hear. And even see. Eeeeeeerm... Awkward?

"I'm doing good," she nodded, turning her gaze towards her recipe book again. "About to bake some cupcakes if you want to help. I'll be sending some to a friend in London, but the rest we can share over some tea or something." Kurumi did enjoy baking and then sitting in the kitchen where the smells still lingering in the air. Make everything taste better really. "I just need to pick out a recipe...but not something with chocolate."

Hmm, Treyen was playing James Potter in this production...wonder what James Potter's favorite cupcakes were...

Turning around slightly, Kurumi smiled and waved at the Gryffindor first year as she made her way towards her and Elodie. "Hey, sure!" Really, Kurumi thought that baking was something that should be shared among many. And hey, when she looked at these two young students, she was seeing the next generation of young Hogwarts bakers!

She did have a cookie legacy that she didn't want to see fade after all.

"Elodie and I were going to bake some cupcakes." Even if the young Hufflepuff hadn't said she wanted to bake officially. Kurumi had sort of just decided for her.

Quick Quotes Quill 09-06-2012 06:57 AM

Gwen found herself wandering around the castle, with the sketchbook in her hand. Well... she was trying to find something interesting to draw... but since she had already created lots of drawings at Hogwarts, she was still thinking about where she should be going in order to come up with some new sketch. For some reason, the fifth year was getting closer and closer to the kitchen.

Why? She had no idea.

After tickling the pear, the Ravenclaw made her way in, while still twirling the sketchbook in her hands. ‘Oh, hello Kurumi’, she noticed the Gryffindor Prefect as she stepped in. ‘Hi’, she greeted the other people and elves in the room. She had no idea what their names were but mehh... She drew her attention back at Kurumi for a moment. ‘Are you here to bake cookies?’ Merlin knows how different Hogwarts would be newt year without the Cookie Prefect.

She then looked around, trying to find a place where to sit. She was willing to offer to help Kurumi, but since she was a complete disaster when it came to cooking, Gwen decided that it was best not to say anything. She wouldn’t want to be the one to ruin the cookies.

So just drawing it is.

It was good. Indeed it was. You know, because Elodie wouldn't have to have her BOTTOM removed. Do you know how hard it would have been to do some things without your bottom? You know, like sit down, or use the TOILET?! Did they make special toilets for people without bottoms, or even special clothes?! She'd have to do some research on that one, you know. Purely for the fact that she needed to know. "It is! I can sit down without it hurting! Have you...do you know if Alice and her leg are okay?" Because that was an ugly sight. Ew. Broken bones were icky and horrible. But Alice had been hurt, and Elodie was still worried for the girl. Just incase they'd had to put her down or something.

"That's great! I'm glad you're okay." Really, she was. Elodie was ecstatic that Kurumi was okay, because...she might have had some sort of breakdown after that eventful day on the train and platform and everything. She was making...CUPCAKES?!?!?! HBDUJFBREKMFNDSA! Elodie beamed, squealed, and jumped up and down all at the same time. "I can help?! Really, really?!" This would be so FUN! You know, if Kurumi could make them good and stuff. Because Elodie wasn't great.

"You should make lemon cupcakes...." Because lemons were yellow, and lemon cupcakes were nice.

But the other girl seemed to go and sit down and not want to help. SADFACE. Els frowned at her, just a tiny bit. And beckoned her right over with a hand summon. (YES A HAND SUMMON BECAUSE IT SOUNDS COOL.)

"Come help."

Please?

Oh, that WAS good news. Especially when one considered how much sitting they all did during the day because of lessons. Kurumi supposed that Elodie could have always asked the professor if it would have been alright for her to stand during the entirety of it all...but then her legs would probably end up being sore from all that...and....Not that this mattered right now because the second year had said that her bum was no longer sore. "Alice is alright," Kurumi nodded. "I think she will be off her crutches in a day or so actually. Her leg is looking a lot stronger now." Not to mention she was also becoming rather capable on her crutches.

OHMYGOSHWHYWASSHESOCUTE?! Seriously, Kurumi was so glad that Lewis agreed to this whole fake adoption thing because Kurumi was seriously going to just take Elodie with them when they left Hogwarts. Yep. Elodie liked...Romania, right? And dragons? She would ask...later. "Of course you can!" she chirped in reply while she grabbed some bowels and other things from the cabinets to use to bake. "Lemon? That sounds like a great idea! I think I have a few lemon recipes in here...you can pick the one that you think sounds best."

Showing the recipe book to Elodie, Kurumi noticed that Gwen had entered the kitchens as well. Their conversation on the train had been cut short because of, well, everything that could have possibly gone wrong did go wrong minus someone dying. "Hey Gwen!" she waved at the Ravenclaw. "Cupcakes actually."

SEE! SEE HOW CUTE ELODIE WAS?! EEEK!

"Yeah, why don't you bake with us?" Unless Gwen really wanted to draw, then she wouldn't stand in her way.

Gwen had been meaning to go start the sketch. Maybe the house elves would agree to let her draw them? She would want to ask them that. After all, they could mind their own business, but asking first was the best thing to do, right? Her thoughts were interrupted by a voice. Gwendolyn looked at the girl who just told her to go help them. ‘Ummm...’ How to put this? ‘I’m not that good at cooking’ Not that good meaning... she could barely make tea.

Ehem.

So what were they going to bake?

She heard Kurumi say something about cupcakes. Gwen nearly wanted to offer to help, but considering the fact that the last time she had been here, she nearly set the place on fire... maybe that wasn’t the best idea. ‘I think I’ll pass...Unless you need help to decorate the cupcakes?’ That she could do. Gwen couldn’t help but wonder how come she was a complete disaster when it came to cooking. Because, after all- shouldn’t it be like Potions? It was supposed to be just using a recipe and following a few steps.

Gwen then looked at the younger girl, whose name she still didn’t know. ‘I don’t believe we met before’, the Ravenclaw started saying. She was almost sure the two of them hadn’t met. ‘I’m Gwen, by the way’

Somnium 09-08-2012 04:34 AM

Taylor had asked Damon to meet her in the kitchen a week after the... whatever you call it, at the lake. She was humming and trying to make some brownies. Tay wanted to win him back over so that she could continue to mess with him as evil as that sounds.

PuppySara 09-08-2012 04:41 AM

Damon walked into the kitchen sighing, he'd actually been able to relax and then he had gotten the message to meet up with Taylor... He felt he'd be gothic again soon if she was going to say what he thought she was.

Somnium 09-08-2012 04:46 AM

Tay glanced up from the brownie mix. "Hey handsome." She gave him a light smile then put the brownies in the oven. Taylor looked at him then shyly back down, "Oh, Damon... can you ever forgive me?"

PuppySara 09-08-2012 04:53 AM

And the handsome was her hint... "Taylor," He leaned against the wall beside the stove she was at, "And I could if you really meant it... Which I can tell you don't." He looked at her and sighed, "And yes, you already gave yourself away, calling me 'handsome'... That only started when you started messing with me,"

Somnium 09-08-2012 04:57 AM

Tay bit her lip, "Are you sure about that? I mean havent I ever called you handsome before then?" She gave him a weird look then sighed, "Oh, Damon, I do mean it though." Taylor pouted.

PuppySara 09-08-2012 05:02 AM

"No, you never did, or at least not without me complementing you first," Damon looked at her, "And do you have anyway to prove that you truly are? Because I have a hard time believing it, sorry." He crossed his arms, not believing her.

Somnium 09-08-2012 05:05 AM

Tay pouted, "Why would I be making you brownies if I am not really sorry?" She glanced away, "But if that is how you feel..." Taylor let out a whimper as she checked the brownies.

PuppySara 09-08-2012 05:12 AM

He felt somewhat crushed hearing Taylor whimper, but he couldn't be weak now, "You always bake things..." Damon looked at her for the first time, his eyes brown and his eyeliner back already.

Somnium 09-08-2012 05:14 AM

Tay let out a few more whimpers as she tried to stand up from checking the brownies. Taylor made herself shake with fake tears and crying.

PuppySara 09-08-2012 05:23 AM

With the tears he stiffened, he hated seeing her cry. He went over to her, "It's horrible to see you like this... But I know you're just acting. When you really cry, you try to fight it back, or bury your head in the nearest thing..." Damon looked at her, "I love you Taylor, but as I said, I will not be here until you give me a real reason to be."
