After she heard her go all official with using her whole name and everything she thought for sure the older girl would have given her a lecture all the way back to the Great Hall--but she didn't. Lex grinned at her...threat...? Was that what it was? Well she grinned at it anyway! "Don't worry, I promise I won't--and you better not either!!" She looked down at Alice who was enjoying the munching a bit too much. "And you better not die either!!!" Because she didn't know what she'd do if either of them got grabbed by the plant next!

She thought to comment on Vivi's ownership of the no good Captain but then she had a stomping job to do so she kept quiet about...yeah...there would be words later.

Stomp. Stomp. STOMP.

Lex grinned at Alice for cheering her on before she continued. Oh? The girl found a new place to chomp. Much closer to where he was being held. Good thinking! Moving a bit closer she tried pulling the plant from the boy, it just didn't seem to want to budge!! Come on team!! Put a little more back into it!!! Save the No Good Captain!

... buckets of flesh?!

She needed to go shopping for ingredients in Bentley's private stor-

The plant had gotten Shacklebolt. Although she wanted to let the thing eat him, she pointed her wand at the evil plant. "Bentley... I'd love a suggestion here..."

Well. The shoe-beatings didn't seem to be doing much in the way of freeing up Milton, and Vivi paused in eyeing the two younger girls that were really much too close to a plant that liked to eat full-sized adults as appetizers. She would bet that Lex and Alice would taste waaaay better than dried up old professors, too... maybe she should be a good role model and make them run away or something.

Except Milton was still all wrapped up by the plant, and Vivi was rather fond of him these days. She whapped the plant again with her shoe. "I'm warning you, Dirt Breath. If you don't let go of him, you're going to be very sorry. He doesn't even taste very good. Way too much cologne." False. He usually smelled fantastic.

Eat a professor! They were way bigger! Lafay was right THERE... she could go instead!

Elise, like many other people had heard a certain Ravenclaw kicking and flailing and screaming at the top of his voice. Following the very loud noises towards the greenhouses, she cursed herself for not thinking of this earlier. OF COURSE the plant was in a greenhouse. Silly Elise.

Anyway, this wasn't the time to think about how silly she was. Beater's bat in her hand, Elise rushed into the Greenhouse, immediately spotting Alexa and Alice. Gryffindors? Oh. And that AWFUL!puff and awesome!Vivi. Great. At least there was one other Ravenclaw there with her.

Back to the point. MILTON WAS DYING! And it was up to Elise to save him! Yes. So she raaaan towards the plant, shot everyone else a beaaam before hitting that stupid plant repeatedly.

"YOU LET GO OF MY CAPTAIN, YOU STUPID PLANT!" she screaaamed, whacking it like she would whack any bludger. "Haaang on in there, Cap'n!"

WHACK. WHACK. WHACK.

MERLIN!!!. Not only were the gryffindors stupid but thy were hard of hearing as well. Isabel was a bit shocked that cambridge would run ahead of and leave the professors she was MAD definitely. No f this was isabels problem if the cambridge girl wanted to die that was her problem, Isabel would not get involved. A small pang of guilt started to bite at her,she knew if her brothers were here they would do something.They wouldnt be selfish.Ah what the heck if she died she wouldnt have to do her ancient runes homework. isabel ran after the gryffindor. after arriving at the greenhouse isabel could hardly believe what she saw "BLOODY HELL!!!" Why did it not surprize her to find the girl doing something stupid? and to top it off there were was another gryffindor and MERLIN was that a CLAW in the mix?!?! and what was that, the plant had the ravenclaw captain wrapped up.she had to do something she had to save them from their stupidity somehow.Hopefully they would learn their lesson after this...no they wouldn't. isabel ran up to the captain and began to stab at the plant hopefully this would work.

Alice was sure that by now, the shoe beatings, the stomping, and the chomping had no effect whatsoever on the monster plant. She released her toothy grip on the vine and turned to Vivi and Lex. "When do bring out our wands?" Because. .you know.. this thing OBVIOUSLY didn't care that a little demon was chewing off it's tendrils over here. Or that Vivi was putting her best efforts into beating the thing with her slipper.

She bit down on a thicker tendril on Milton's wrist, but nothing seemed to be happening. What, was it totally immune to her fangs by now? She didn't know. HMPH. But the plant's reaction was very disappointing. "C'MFON, youf lousthfy pfwant! Dtho STHFOMETHFING!" This was not a very pleasurable experience for her taste buds, you know, and she really wished it would just let go of the darn plant. Alice at least thought the plant would get distracted and go for her or Lex — they did look juicier than Milton, didn't they?— but nothing was happening. "Forget about the bat!" She called to Elise. "It's not going to work! We already tried."

AND. Then. Light bulb.

"Try severing them! Cut off the vines!" YES. Finally. A breakthrough. Alice yanked her wand out of her pocket and started blasting spells at any visible part of the plant. "Diffindo. Diffindo. Diffindo." Sparks flew out of her wand and hit the plant in numerous spots, but she couldn't tell if they had managed to do any damage or not.

Well. It had to have SOME effect, yeah?

And now Lafay was here!! They were saved!!--wait what?!?!? She had to be asking what to do next??? Scratch that--the Captain was back to being dooooomed!!!!

At frequent intervals Lex kept looking back at Vivi just to make sure she was still there and that nothing happened to her. This plant was a meaner, a terrible meaner that liked taking people and she would've incendio both it and the Captain if that happened. That's right. Captain would be held fully accountable.

She watched Elise bolt over and returned her beam with a wide smile. Whoa....the girl had a beater's bat--and she sure knew how to use it! Lex wanted onnnneeee!! She could totes be of more use if she had one of her own.

But then...that annoying Slytherin girl she'd been avoiding showed up and started making unnecessary noise. "Will you quiet down! Gosh! We're in the middle of a rescue not a rally." Her expression got a little less mean when she saw the girl helping. Well then...maybe she wasn't all that spineless. She knew when to pitch in. Speaking of pitching in, she jumped a little when Alice suddenly started going on about a spell; diffindo...a spell she was dreadfully terrible at most times. Granted she got it sometimes but she didn't want to hurt anyone...

"Anyone wanna gimme a beater's bat while you guys shoot spells?" Unless one of them wanted to lose a finger or something...cough. cough.

They tried that? Oh okay then. Tossing her bat towards Alexa, hoping that the grl had SOME amount of Quidditch reflexes, Elise pulled out her wand. Diffindo, did she say? Maybe Elise could try something else.

Elise. Else. The words were kinda similar! Okay, enough getting distracted. What else could Elise do? Alice was diffindoing. So it was time. Time to SAVE MILTON.

"Incendio," she muttered, pointing at a random vine. Please work? Elise didn't have time to look. So let's go with Diffindo.

"Diffindo. Diffindo. Diffindo," she cried, slashing at the plant and making sure not to hit Milton, because they were here to SAVE him! Not Kill him! "Incendio." she added, randomly. Just in case it would be hot enough for the stupid plant to let go of Milton.

"LET HIM GO!" she cried. LOUDLY. Yes. Let Milton go and take that AWFUL!puffer instead! She was a meanie. She insulted Milton and Vivi and the Ravenclaw team. EAT HER.

YUMYUMYUM! Closer and closer!

A random light shot at the Umbrella Vinora. The person was holding an old, not even fresh piece of meat. How sad. It's tendrils avoided the lights but only narrowly.

The lights were all! Suddenly something sharp had gotten into its left tendril. Another one snaked out and slapped the girl right across the face.

Ahahbetter.

Another one! Another pain! It still held on tightly to it's lunch.

More pain! The tendrils rose frantically.

For each whack a small tendril strung out and gave the Ravenclaw a stinging slap.

Another sharp pain! A tendril leaped out and slapped the Slytherin.

Suddenly a tendril was completely sliced off, and fell to the ground unmoving. In it's place was a small stump, but a few seconds later TWO tendrils had grown in it's place. Another one sliced, two more! And again!

More and more tendrils continued to grow back until so many were moving and waving around that they could lift everyone in the room and then some.

It had control of the situation! Things were alright! Just time to eat lunch with a bit of pain! But then a flame shot out taking out one of the tendrils and spreading to others.

IT WAS ON FIRE!!!!

Doing the only thing they could, the tendrils leaped forward grabbing hold of the baby mandrakes that had been covering it and pulling almost fifteen of them up and out of their roots, to set off their blood curdling screams as the fire spread around the plant, and even inched at the arms of Ravenclaw captain.

The plant refused to let go.

Annie's hair was a right mess, all over the place as it was, as she came skidddding into the greenhouse. "Where is it?" the Headmistress breathed, waving her wand about a bit unnecessarily. "Where's the umbrella vinora? It TOOK a STUDENT, you know."

She eyed the potions mistress and then edged past her, looking for the Herbology professor. And what was all that screaming and smok----

"FIRE!" the redhead gaped, pointing her wand at the boy and clapping a hand over one ear. She recognized the screaming as the sound of a baby mandrake but didn't have time to handle THAT crisis just now. A flame had just leaped onto the captain's robes! OH NO! Annie's eyes widened and she shot a stream of icy cold water straight at the plant and its captive. While she worked on putting out the poor plant, she called over her shoulder: "STOP SHOOTING SPELLS AT THE PLANT, IT HAS A HOSTAGE!"

They had to figure out how to get HIM away FIRST! GOSH!

The only thing that Elise registered was the simple fact that the fire was inching towards Milton. NOOOO! This was not supposed to happen! This was veryveryvery bad. No. This was NOT happening. "Aguamenti," she muttered, dousing the fires anywhere near Milton.

But then, she heard screaming. High bloodcurling scre-

THUD.

Who turned out the lights? Elise was all knocked out.

OMGWHYWASTHEREFIRE?!

Kurumi's jaw dropped when she saw the scene in front of her and just how many spells were being shot at the plant THAT STILL HAD MILTON CAPTIVE. Merlin, what if he burned to death instead of being eaten?!

Wait...

Shaking her head, Kurumi's attention went elsewhere...and with good reason. Jumping over Elise for the time being, Kurumi removed her wand with one hand and covered one of her ears with the other. "Silencio!" she shouted, jabbing her wand towards the baby mandrakes over and over and over again to silence their screaming. This would be the most EPIC FAILS of rescue missions if they were all knocked out before anything even happened. "Silencio...Silencio...Silencio..."

Well, mandrakes were no Hufflepuffs...

Once all the mandrakes had been silences, Kurumi backed up and walked over to Elise and scooped her up off the ground and held her. She needed to find a place to put the girl down where she was out of the way AND safe. She would wake up after a little while on her own - baby mandrakes couldn't kill anyway.

WHO PUT HIM UP TO THIS?

Oh right, Dylan. Stupid, Slytherin, Weird Hair, Dylan. Just up and pulled him out of the Library and some how. Oakey wasn't sure why, but he ended up ahead of the Quidditch Captain. He figured that at some point he'd be able to duck out of this little cavalry that the Head Mistress had created and run back to the common rooms, and stay safe in there.
To many were watching though, he would be made out to be a coward. He may be terrified of Plants, Man-Eaters in fact, but he wasn't going to be thought of as a coward.

As he pushed into the Green House the loudest screech he had ever heard forced him to cover his ears the moment he entered. It was only a minute though that the screeching had stopped and Oakey took in his surroundings of Hell. He removed his wand, but kept it lowered. His eyes darted around constantly until he spotted the Demon plant that was the cause of all this, and there was Milton wrapped up in it's tendrils. Oakey's face turned white and he stood as still as a tree.

What was he gonna do that Dylan thought he could be of help with, Wet his pants at the Demon Plant?

Selina did not miss a beat following Kurumi into the greenhouse. The redhead had been on her tale the entire run down here, so the older girl only had a slight head start on her best friend. But once she entered the greenhouse, she was NOT prepared for what she happened upon. It was pure and utter chaos.

AND VIVI AND ALICE WERE HERE!

The redhead's heart literally stopped for a moment when she saw them tryin to fend off the plant. She knew some of the other students as well, but her best friend and teammate were in the crossfire of danger and she was about to loose her mind. NO ONE and NOTHING messed with Selina's friends and her teammates. ESPECIALLY NOT HER TEAMMATES. That was personal, any captain would tell you that.

With anger now seriously present on her face, the redhead yelled at the plant, "Oi! LEAVE VIVI AND ALICE ALONE!" There were other people there as well, which Selina suddenly remembered. She fumbled to try and correct her mistake, "And, um, the rest of them too! YEAH!" She was forgetting someone. Who could it have been? Oh well, it could not have been THAT important. OH NO WAIT! MILTON! "And the boy too!"

After she was done yelling at the plant, she looked to her side and saw Kurumi carrying a younger student. Pulling her own wand out of the holster, Selina looked at her friend and said, "Put her behind some fertilizer or something to keep her safe." Honestly, Selina needed back up. They had never taken a class before on how to beat a gigantic, man-eating plant. And if anyone had read up on that subject it would have been Kurumi.

FINALLY, people were coming to his aid! "GETTHISDAMNTHINGOFFOFME!" he yelled at his fellow students and classmates. Oh, look, Vivi was there. That was reassuring. Maybe she could scare the plant away with her viscous attitude, like she had when she played quidditch. That'd be nice.

Milton continued to flail and writhe on the ground, still feeling the vine pull him further away. And to make matters worse, people were SHOOTING SPELLS AT IT. WHAT. WHAAAT? WHERE WAS THE LOGIC IN THAT?

"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR BLEEDING MINDS?! HUMANS ARE FLAMMABLE! Milton yelled at the students who were TRYING TO KILL HIM. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A RESCUE MISSION, NOT A BARBEQUE!

Before Milton could scream anymore, he heard something ELSE scream. Mandrakes. The noise rattled his eardrums and yelled in pain as he tried to cover his ears, but only one of his hands was available. The other was currently being tugged by the stupid plant. Milton was far too close to the mandrakes and Kurumi's silencing charms simply weren't fast enough.

Unconscious for the fourth time that year, Milton was. And quite possibly on fire.

Dylan was right behind Selina and Kurumi, sliding into the vicinity of the Greenhouse; Oakey still in his grasp. Taking a deep breath, he pushed onward, tugging the Hufflepuff along with him. This was serious business...and he might need a decoy...

i.e. Hufflepuff...

...All the Slytherin Captain heard as he entered the plant haven was screams and shouting...Screams, thanks to Mildew. It was quite life-changing seeing the Ravenclaw Captain snapped up like he was. Dylan felt the strength leaving his knees as he took it in. Sweet Merlin...and with all the Mandrakes...

Cookie had immediately remedied that, of course...Congratulations to you, Cookie.

Finally releasing Oak, the Slytherin stepped up behind Skylar, removing his wand from his sleeve as he did so. "I'm right behind you...How are we doing this?"...because if they were about to attack it head on, Dylan was down.

It was weird how his mindset on this whole thing was changing...Perhaps he valued Mildew more than he'd originally thought...

HOW RUDE!!!

PEOPLE!... students... INVADING... entering HER greenhouses and making a phenomenal amount of noise, and casting spells!!!

It wasn't until Lafay and... Trubridge? Where'd she come from? That she finally snapped.
"EVERYONE CALM .. DOWN! STEP AWAY FROM THE PLANT!"
For Merlin's sake, could they not see it was DISTRESSED?! like her

Directing her wand at the ... hostage situation, she doused the plant and Milton in water.

INCENDIO WAS STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN THE GREENHOUSES... without permission.

Nessie might have taken a little too much time getting to the greenhouse, but it wasn't her fault her silly pygmy puff was following her. She was trying to shoo him away and you know she needed to prepare herself mentally for this deathly plant. In her opinion this plant was rated xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx for being so scary!

After shouting at Puffles for the last time Ness entered the greenhouse, in hope her little pygmy puff would go back to the library. He didn't though and Ness was unaware of this now, because her eyes were fixed onto the plant and everything else that was happening.

In the plants hands were mandrakes which out of instinct made Nessie cover her ears. After a few moments she realised this wasn't necessary seeing as there was no noise coming out of them. Someone must have silenced them.

"Um..I'm guessing I missed a lot." She eyed Professor Bentley as the herbologist started shouting at everyone to step away. The red head followed these instructions and kept her distance.

As for Puffles he wasn't aware of this Professor speaking. He neared just a little closer to the plant. Staring at it in amazement.

STARRREEE!! IT HAD GROWN SO BIG SINCE THE LIBRARY!

He wanted to grow like that! "MEEP! MEEP!" The pygmy puff jumped up and down trying to communicate with this plant. Maybe you just had to be nice to it, maybe it was eating these people because they were all shouting at it. "MEEEP!" HAAII PLANTY!! Bounce! Bounce!

Kurumi was somewhat thankful that she had been preoccupied with silencing mandrakes enough that she had missed her best friend yelling at the plant. It did nothing in helping Kurumi make a case for the girl's sanity - something she was still set on proving even if the red head told her over and over again that it was in vain.

Now with little Elise in her arms, she turned around and saw...Dylan dragging Oakey? Ooooooooooooookay... that was a rather amusing sight to be sure, but her attention was soon back on Selina. "Behind some fertilizer?" Maybe the smell would wake her up. Might not be such a bad idea.

However, the Gryffindor hardly had any time to react before someone else joined the group.
PROFESSOR BENTLEY!!

Who did not seem pleased at all about what was going on right now.

"Professor Bentley!" Kurumi said as she sort of ran over to the woman, still with the unconscious Elise in her arms. Oh, Milton was out too. UG...she was going to get an earful from him when this was all over. She could just feel it. "Do you have something that can wake her? She got knocked out from the baby mandrakes that were uprooted. I silenced them for now..." But those should probably be taken care of because they were sort of creepy just lying there on the ground crying with no sound coming out.

And then Kurumi heard a squeaking noise and she turned her head when...OMGWHATWASPUFFLESDOINGHERE?! "Nessie! Grab your pygmy puff before it gets grabbed too!"

Oh goody, more students to fill the void.
"You and I both," she mused, still not sure how all this had happened in such a short time.

In all honesty... a fainter was the least of her problems at this point. There really wasn't anything that could be done.
"Have you tried enervate?" she asked offhandedly, eyes still firmly fixed on the plant.

They needed to stop it... she understood that, but she also wanted to keep it. Perhaps, if she took a cutting, she could... save it for later.
With a few sneaky motions, she severed a chunk off the plant, a shorter tendril straight from the base.. it'd root easily enough.. and summoned it into her waiting hand.

Success.

"Alright, now everyone, we need to focus our efforts!... Grab Milton! Shooting spells at it won't help anyone at the this point. Minerva, Ethan... throw meat at it!" She instructed. Sure it wasn't premium dragon steak, but it was something, surely the blood would be appreciated. No?

So Bentley wasn't here before? Hmm. Things happened fast didn't they? "Time flies when you're having.." fun, but that wasn't exactly what was happening right now. This was FAR from fun!"Um..time just flies." That made a little more sense.

WHAT WAS PUFFLES DOING?

For a few moments Nessie stood still as she watched her pygmy puff race towards the plant and squeak it it. Just what in the name of Merlin? He was afraid of cats but thought this plant was interesting? Um..not normal at all.

It was when Kurumi shouted her way that Nessie regained her focus and decided that fetching Puffles now was probably good idea. The red head raced ahead and grabbed her pygmy puff who just immediately jumped out of her hands. She tried to pick him up again but no good results.

Sigh! Why did he have to be like this?

Having no other choice Ness went back to where she stood before and decided to summon Puffles. "Accio Puffles." She pointed her wand at him and watched as he flew into the air and into her grasp. She held onto him tightly. "Don't you EVER do that again, okay?" she gave him a look and then placed him on her shoulder where he stayed.

Now to save Milton. The others were ready to grab him too? Yes? Ness was even though her heart was beating rapidly and she was scared out of her mind.

So when they headed to the greenhouses Cassia was trying not to make eye-contact with that Slytherin firstie. She stuck to Lex's side. And actually she was thinking of this situation she had gotten herself in. Why would she volunteer to go and search for a killing plant! For whom! For a professor. Well, Cassia was searching for an adventure but she as usual didn't think well enough to know that this could cost her her own precious life. She was thinking of backing out but then she'd look like a chicken and that was so not cool. So she'd continue this searching thing and hope against hope that the plant had fled out of Hogwarts taking that old astronomy woman with it.

But of course she was proven wrong after a couple of minutes from when she stepped into that smelly greenish place.The plant was there…what a shock,huh! And people were all crazy throwing things at it and casting spells that didn't seem to be working. Then the headmistress and Bentley say that they need to stop. Had Cassia had her guts with her she'd have burnt this thing DOWN! But of course she didn't…she never did in fact.

So her inner snake started thinking of what to do. She glanced to see where Lex was and saw the lioness stomping on the plant's tendrils and talking to the seventh year claw. Cassia shook her head at Lex's stupid and unnecessary courage of being near the plant.

It never came across the Slytherin's mind to help…So what of the plant ate the Quidditch captain…they would find another one. Though she wasn't going to stand there doing nothing. She walked towards Lex who was demanding a bat! "WHY are you even near the plant!" She asked her. Then the answer popped up on her head. because we volunteered to help. "I mean the Professors said to step away." They said something like that but Cassia was pretty busy caring about her own safety. "We volunteered to find the plant and we did." Mission over.

"You don't want to die in your first year and make you claw friend sad." Cassia said motioning at the seventh year with a nod of greeting. Oh Cassia knew all about manners. "Let's see what we can do more from AFAR." That was a brilliant plan. Then Cassia glanced at the other firstie, "Is she still annoying us?" She whispered because you know Cassia wasn't noticing anything.

Then Bentley said to shoot meat at the plant. That seemed harmless so Cassia nodded at no one. She looked around searching for meat to shoot. And she eyed the plant, "DO not get near me plant...I taste awful.." Now that should keep the vicious thing away from her. YUP!

Oh, lookit. Professor Bentley was making her presence known...and was commanding that they not attack the planet. Pfft. Dylan eyed the woman, suspicious that she didn't care about saving Mildew's life. What was it with these women and plants?

Kill. Them. ALL.

"I don't see how it's going to much care about that meat when it has a fresh snack in his grip." Eyes for you, Professor.

When she said 'Grab Milton', was she suggesting they get close enough to that plant to do so? Or could that just...Accio! him out...? Hmph...

"I say we get that disgusting plant to perhaps...loosen it's hold on Milde...Milton." Habit. Meh. "...and then Accio him away." The Slytherin hoped Shacklebolt was enjoying playing the damsel in distress...How does one always get themselves into these situations?

...Oh, and if that suggestion didn't fly..."I could physically grab him..." It was just something he was throwing out there. Dylan really did NOT want to do such a thing, though...and he didn't want Skylar even thinking about doing it herself. Nor Cookie or Vivi...

Hmph. Dixon could...Oak might be off the hook if Dylan could feed HER to this thing.

To...the greenhouses...

Medea's pace slowed just a tad as the loud cries reached her ears, making her wince. Not human cries at that, but they were suddenly silenced a moment later, just as she entered the place and gaze settled on the sight. And what a sight it was. Okaaaaay, this was the right place.

She'd heard Seren shouting to throw some kind of meat at the plant, though her attention zeroed in on Kurumi and the unconscious girl in her arms. "Kurumi, bring her outside!" she called, gesturing the prefect to the wide outdoors. Away from plants and smoke polluted air, and truthfully, out of the way of the others. Back to the plant though...

Good Merlin, she should've studied herbology more.

Minerva was still on the ground with her grip on Milton's arm, there was no way she was going to let go. She had seen the wombat taken and the astronomy professor. She was not watching a student without at least trying to do something. Her spells had missed, but then what the heck were other students doing. BITING.... Fire.... Slicing... Minerva knew this was going to end badly.. very badly and just as she thought the plant seemed to be getting madder. Trying to make sure to grip Milton's arm tighter she tried digging her shoes into the ground to at least slow down the plant from dragging him. Why was there so much chaos going on, just help hold him back..

Then Bentley started and she didn't know which was going to be worse the plant being mad or Bentley mad about hurting the plant that was trying to hurt a student. Step away?? "Professor....I have a grip on his arm, couldn't we tug the plant off his other arm while some of us keep hold of him. If we are all together we have to be stronger then this plant... we have too." Then she heard her say about the meat... "Professor I threw what I had before grabbing Milton.." She looked at the dropped meat she had left on the ground, could she reach it or not she wasn't sure. Yes, she was trying to think clearly, but panic was in her voice. Her experience before with this thing made her a little panic. She knew how tight that thing could be around you, she knew how it felt to be hit in the face by it.. Come on people work together is all she could think in her head...
