Sutton raised her eyebrows at him as he explained that the room was hidden. "A hidden room? Why on Earth would they hide a room?" she asked thoroughly confused. It just didn't make any sense to her. There didn't seem to be much of a point to it. It was just a room.

As he introduced himself, Sutton surveyed his face. He was hiding something. This boy was quite mysterious and didn't really seem like the kind who liked making new friends. For the second time, she wondered why a person was put in Hufflepuff, but she supposed that the Hat had its reasons. After all, the Sorting Hat had considered putting her in Ravenclaw, but she ended up in Hufflepuff. With a shrug, Sutton let go of his hand, "Nice to meet you, Jacen."

Silence.Silence. Silence.

"Soooo... do you... want any help finding your secret room?"

Addy was on the precipice of a break through... or she was just delirious from lack of sleep. She was not SURE. So it was probably delirium Heh. The ginger paced back and forth, hands on her hips, serious scowl on her face. Yep. This was IT.

Why were there so many stairs?! Honestly, was it really necessary to have so many floors? Durmstrang didn't have this many and they got along just fine. Jake wasn't used to walking this much in one day. So, by the time he reached the seventh floor, he was very out of breath.

He needed to start exercising.

The frown that that thought brought on was still on his face when he saw the girl in front of him. And she had the same expression on her face. That made Jake smile. "You exhausted, too? They should have escalators here." He kicked the ground lightly with his foot, then looked back at the girl. Who hopefully knew what an escalator was. He didn't want to explain.

Okay so she had been plotting revenge, to a certain extent. But whatever. Heh. She had been pulled from her reverie by an unfamiliar voice. Spinning to look at him she smiled. "They wouldn't work here. Electronics and magic don't mix apparently." Who knew. It was sad times, though.

"You could probably fly up here as opposed to climbing like 8 floors up." She was not sure if that was frowned upon, or what. It probably was. Everyone seemed to have an issue with people having FUN around here. And apparently conversations were interrupted often. Stupid people.

...Right. No electronics. Jake forgot about that little detail.

He shrugged, slipping his hands into his pockets. "I haven't seen anybody fly up here, yet," he said. "It probably doesn't happen very often." And as fun as it sounded, he didn't want to be the first one to do it. But, anywho, if that wasn't what the girl's problem was...

"Did I interrupt a thought, or something? I can leave..." He didn't know what he'd do, though. He was on the way to the Gryffindor tower, but after that he had no plans.

"Oh. My name's Jake." He hadn't said that yet.

*Letting go of her hand Jacen started running his fingers along the wall and tapping random spots. Why would they hide a room? He had no idea but he was going to find out.*
"Isn't it obvious? It must be special if they keep it hidden. Plus we are in one of the oldest structures in the world. So I bet no one made it... It might have made its self..."
*Turning back to her he gently took her hand and ran it over the walls. She was just sitting there watching. If she wanted to help then help.*
"Move along the wall and let me know if you find or hear anything."

Well perhaps no one had done it yet... Addy wouldn't mind being the first. Heh. "I would do it in a heartbeat if I didn't hate flying so much." Shrugs. She had fears, yo.

"I was trying to figure out a way to get my chair back, but that isn't important. Nice to meet you, Jake. I'm Addy. Or you can call me Jacks if you wish. You're a Gryffindor." She... had only met one of those. She eyed him curiously and smiled. "Want to go do something mildly stupid and blame other people for it? I have really convincing puppy dog eyes."

As Jacen took her hand and pressed it to the wall, her face felt suddenly hot. To hide her blushing, she busied herself with studying the wall. "Well, that is a bit of an exaggeration. Hogwarts is only about a thousand years old at the VERY most. There are structures much older than that. Egyptian pyramids, Grecian theatres... that sort of thing. I mean, I guess you could probably say it is one of the oldest structures that still remains intact...?" she rambled on as her hands felt along the hard, cold, and very solid stone of the wall.

He was right, though, that this was a place filled with magic. She didn't think a building could just... magically evolve to create this secret room, though. Someone would have had to use magic to create it for a specific purpose at put it there. With a sudden epiphany, she quickly turned back to face Jacen. "Hey, you know what. I bet there's some kind of magic involved to find the room. I mean, like you said, this is a place of magic, so I don't think they'd make the room so you could find it just by searching along the walls like a Muggle. It must have to magically appear somehow!" she hypothesized hopefully. Maybe he would be able to come up with a plan because Sutton, truthfully, didn't know much about magic.... especially not about pulling secret rooms out of their ancient hiding places so she could get into it.

"You know what... I bet your right." *Why hadn't he thought of that? Taking a step back he rubbed his chin deep in thought.*
"She had said you don't need a wand, so no spells or charms... A main part of magic is picturing what you want and then doing it..."
*Closing his eyes Jacen walked back and forth picturing a room. Focusing hard on it he waited for something to happen.*

Beaming at him for thinking she might be right, she pretty much felt like awesome. Then her smile faded as he explained what "she" had said and about magic things that Sutton really needed to learn, she imagined. As he began walking back and forth, Sutton ran forward, but he was moving really fast and changing directions quickly, so she just grabbed his hand to know what to do.

A new seeker... Yeah. Milton leaned his back against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest. "Yeah. That'll be a tough choice. Ellie was brilliant... I just hope more people try out this year. I need options." Not that Anya really cared about Milton's quidditch captain problems, he assumed. Oh well.

Milton kept smirking, despite her words of counsel. "If I remember correctly, my friend, we won the championship last year. I have a reason to be cocky." And this year, it was going to happen AGAIN.

*Walking back and forth he soon stopped but only when he felt something touch his hand. Stopping he looked down to see the little girl holding his hand. With a smile he let go of her hand and pointed at the wall behind her.*
"It seems to have worked..."

When Jaycen stopped suddenly and let go of her hand, Sutton turned and peered at the wall he pointed out. Her mouth practically fell open. "I know that wasn't there before! Where did it come from? What is it? What's inside???" she asked excitedly, beaming that they had made the discovery together.

"No idea, no idea, and no idea. All I know is what I told you. That it is a hidden room on this floor."
*Walking up to the door Jacen ran his fingers over the door. Grabbing the handle he turned the knob and... It was locked! Really?! Jacen growled and hit the door.*

"You could always play seeker." Anya suggested looking over to Milton on the other side of the window. That would be kind of intimidating, right?

Not for her, but for other seekers.

She smiled a little. "I meant getting cocky over looking good in that badge." she replied casually.

"I'm completely okay with you and your championship bragging rights."

Him, play seeker? Milton made a face and shook his head a little. “Nah, I don’t want to. I like being in the middle of the action.” All seekers did was float around and look for a shiny object while trying to dodge bludgers. That was boring to him. “If I need to, I will though.”

Milton chuckled and shrugged a little. “Oh well. Too late.” The cocky train left a long time ago, dear. “Well, good. I don’t think I’ll stop bragging then.” Wink.

Sutton folded her arms across her chest and raised her eyebrows at him in her best attempt at judging his bad attitude. With a sigh, she rolled her eyes. How long had he been at Hogwarts? Maybe she should suggest to him the same thing that Addy had suggested to her. He obviously needed to read Hogwarts, a History. "Look, it's obvious. You either have to know something special to do with your wand OR you need a password... just like every other locked building or blocked-off area in the castle," she said, in an almost know-it-all voice.

She did genuinely want to help him, but he didn't seem to think very creatively. Her sweet demeanor returning (because she couldn't stay annoyed for any amount of time at all), she smiled up at him and said, "Think of the solution, not the problem." It was a saying frequently used in one of her favorite book series, but she didn't imagine Jacen would care much about that part of it...

"It's not that bad. And. It comes with a lot of attention." Anya replied. And let's face it, Milton did enjoy all eyes on him.

"I kind of like it. You see a lot from up there." There was something a little magical about a birds eye view.

She grinned a little. She bit her bottom lip in order to keep her comment to herself. She was pretty sure she was the only girl in the history of ever that actually liked Milton's cocky attitude. It made her giggly.

"Feel free to carry on then." she said flipping around so she was in front of the window again.

She let out a little sigh as her eyes scanned the grounds. She loved Hogwarts at night.

"The Sword of Truth..." *It was a line from that book she had just quoted. Jacen had never read the book himself but one of his best mates at Durmstang, Larrs Little, had read it and quoted that line all the time. It used to drive Jacen crazy but at that moment he realized how much he had missed his old friends.*

"It has to be a password. A hidden door wouldn't open up with a simple bit of wand work."
*Resting his back against the wall he slid down trying to think of what kind of password would open this door.*

Sutton smiled brightly at him. "Yes, that's right!" she said as he correctly identify the book series she had quoted. Jacen seemed to be just full of surprises! But at the moment, he seemed very discouraged. Sutton sat down next to him against the wall. She truly had no idea what the password could possibly be, but she figured it was best to keep him company. Pulling a small package wrapped in paper out of her pocket, she opened it and offered its contents to Jacen. "Want a cookie? It might help you think!" she said brightly as she held the cookies out to him, waiting for him to accept.

*Jacen looked over at the cookies. Normally he would accept. It seemed like he couldn't ever eat enough to make him full. But he wasn't up for a cookie at the moment.*
"They look good, but no thanks... My friend read those books and quoted that line all the time."

Sutton frowned at him slightly before picking up a cookie out of the package and eating it yourself. "Whatever floats your boat!" she said. Taking a few bites as he continued, she follow managed to swallow and answer him, "Well... it's a really important line. Though, sometimes I don't understand how you can come up with a solution without looking at the problem. Like... in math... you kind of have to look at the problem to find the solution... though I'm pretty sure that's not really what they mean..." she trailed off, glancing back over at the door while she ate some more of her cookie. "So, any idea how we find out the password?"

"I have an idea..."
*Jacen rubbed the back of his neck. He knew what to do to get the password but it was not going to be easy. If anything it would be difficult and painful.*
"... I'll have to go ask Healer Tillstorm."

When he said he had an idea, Sutton quickly turned to look at him, very excited. She noticed him rubbing his neck, and then he was talking about the healer. With a confused look, Sutton said, "Oh... did you like hurt your neck at Quidditch try-outs or something?" With a concerned look, she surveyed him. Yeah... he DEFINITELY looked like a Quidditch player... big and muscley and cute. That's how she imagined male Quidditch players to look. "What's your idea about getting the password, though?" it seemed weird that he would say that and then not tell her what it was. Unless he was being all secrety again. She noticed he did that sometimes...

Milton put off a small smirk. "That it does." And he really didn't mind the attention. Plus, last year he kind of feared Ellie Stone because she was the captain, so he wondered if people were scared of him at all. Probably. Heh.

Looking back out the window, Milton nodded a little. "Yeah, it's nice... I like to look out the window when I can't sleep." He chose a bed that was right next to a window so he could sit there on sleepless nights. Or late night study sessions.

And he saw that grin behind her lip-biting. It made him smile, but he made himself look out the window again. When she moved in front of the window, Milton adjusted so he was leaning one shoulder against the wall, facing her. He looked out the window, too.

It was quiet for a few moments before Milton spoke up. "So... You and Jake are...?" Together. Probably. Which sucked.
