This particular room has served as an office to a number of different professors over the years. Some of which include revered professors such as Septima Vector, Bree Geltz, Kali O'hara, Lesley Modulo Fox, Matthias Pythagoras Wenlock, Onyx Xavier Frost, and of course, Macadrian Ashling Shackleton-Clark. With each new Professor that has made this office homey, Josephina is sure they each brought their own particular flair to its decorations to accommodate their tastes. Just as Josephina did when she first entered upon this room just several years ago now.
The walls have been painted a light blue-gray color and there are a handful of paintings hung around the room, giving off a rather comfortable aura. One of the paintings is a rendition repainted by Josephina, herself, of a canal near her hometown in Perugia, Italy. There is a framed miniature Italian flag, as well as a third painting of of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
As with typical office decorum, there is a large, polished wooden desk, that once belonged to each of her predecessors. There are a few neat stacks of papers and worksheets on the desk. There are also a few framed photographs sitting on her desk; one of Josephina posed with her two sisters, one of her parents, Nicole and Marcus, sitting on their couch. There's also a photograph of a baby girl, about toddler-aged, who will crawl around in the photo and maybe even disappear completely if you watch long enough, but have no fear, she'll be back! And an even more recent photograph, which you might recognize as your Herbology Professor with your Arithmancy one, taken on their recent trip to Italy. Behind the large wooden desk sits a black executive style chair. Directly on the other side of the desk - where visitors may sit - are two smaller black chairs, but still just as comfortable.
There's a bookcase on the left side, which contains various titles that Josephina collected over the years. Some these include, but are not limited to, The Complete Book of Numerology, New Theory of Numerology, Numerology and Gramatica, A Look Into The Future, and Olde and Forgotten Bewitchments and Charmes. There are also muggle classic books by Charles Dickens and Jane Austen, for which are a few of Fina's guilty pleasures.
Though the door is nearly always open, proper etiquette dictates knocking and addressing your identity before entering. Especially as Professor Hadley likely has her back to the door where she is playing with her puppy named Baisley or her kitten received from recent graduate, Lorelai Bristol, in which she conveniently named Bristol. Just entering without permission is rude and punishable with either point deduction and/or detention for being disrespectful.
OOC: No, there is no waiting area, but please do not clog up this thread with useless chatter of 'waiting to enter'. Have your character knock and then wait for Professor Hadley to respond to either enter or to come back later.
There are plenty of places around the school that allow for chat with your friends; Professor Hadley's office is NOT the place for it and doing as such will be cause for appropriate discipline actions.
Any questions or concerns or appointment requests, please PM me.

As Minerva started talking, Glenn tuned out. She didn't want people telling her the sign didn't matter, she just wanted people to leave her alone for the week, not pay attention to it or the fact that she had lost points either.
She took the tissue and just clutched it in her hand, having already brushed away them with her sleeve. So, the decision was that she had to help with the planning, no? "May I sit down, then?" The blonde asked, her voice wavering slightly as she stared at the ground, her hair falling into her eyes.

Turning back to Sutton and Professor Hadley now that all the explaining seemed to be over, "Well we need to come up with when are we going to have this party. Matches are going to be starting soon, so I don't want to interfere with that, but I think if we could bring up house spirit it could help with the Quidditch matches as well. " Yes that was the main goal, Hufflepuffs to meet and bring back spirit.. Someone might have to glue a shirt on the shirtless boy, but that was another thought for another time.

If it had been Sutton, she wouldn't have been able to do anything but yell for help. Except Sutton would never go into the Forbidden Forest... she was way too scared... of the forest and of being in trouble.
Thinking about what Minnie said, Sutton finally spoke up. "Well, obviously it needs to be a weekend. Maybe we could do it on a Friday evening since Quidditch is always on Saturdays?" she suggested. "Oh! And we'll need to make signs, and should we ask the house elves to make food for us, or should we do it ourselves... I know they're usually pretty busy..." she said, looking around. Deciding to they really needed to involve the other girl, Sutton turned to her and smile. "What would you like to help with? Oh, and I'm Sutton, by the way..."
Then there was another knock on the door. Woah! This was just Grand Central Station today, wasn't it? Err.. Kings Cross Station? Since they were in Britain? ...
She lived near a forest so she didn't think it was that dangerous? Fina tilted her head curiously a moment at the fourth year, but then brushed it off to the back of her mind, deciding it best to move on. For now anyway; until she got a chance to head down to the grounds have a word about the situation with the groundskeeper.
But for now, the focus was on the Puff spirit party. She nodded at Glenn when she asked about sitting down. "I'm sure the elves wouldn't mind helping some... it's not like we'll be asking them for massive amounts of snacks; just a bit, right? As far as when this party could occur, then yes, I think a Friday night into Saturday would be best. No classes on Saturday mornings and we can arrange with Renesmee not to plan any early morning practices for her team then."
Hm. What else?
"Oh, and someone should alert the Friar. He love you guys, you know? And I'm sure he'd be overjoyed to come hang out in the common room and mingle for a few hours or whatever."

Balancing the arrangement under his left arm, the Badger raised his right one to knock on Professor Hadley's door.
Knock, knock, knock!
Before she could carry on with any further discussions though, there was another knock. Another Badger? Were they all apologizing for their agonizing start-of-term behaviors or was it something else?
Inhaling, she gave a long look to the female badgers in the room first, before turning her attention toward the door. "come in," she called, sort of hoping it was another Hufflepuff; it'd be a shame to have their plans intercepted by those in another house.

Minerva smiled as she listened to the professor speak more about the party. "Yes I think that is a great idea. Having it on a Friday sounds wonderful and yes asking Ness to not have a late practice would help." she clapped her hands in excitement. This was going to be so great, she just knew it would be. In her head she was making a mental check list of everything that needed done yet.. Poster announcing both events, talk to the elves, ask about the board games, talk to Alex about the boys, and talk to the Friar.. "Oh Professor, I was talking with a few people in the common room about Laura and I's idea with the sleep over and the Friar had come, so I did mention it to him, but not the party. I will find him and tell him. Will you come as well?" Minerva wasn't sure if she cared to hang out with a bunch of students, but it could be fun.

When Jory was told the enter Professor Hadley's office, he pushed opened the door. There were a few other students he recognised there as well. "Hello,'' he told them before turning to his Head of House.
"Hi, Professor,'' he greeted. "I brought you something.'' He took the arrangement in both hands, walked over and placed the arrangement on her desk so that it faced her. "Er... I hope you like it,'' he said, feeling suddenly nervous. What if she didn't?
The badger looked over the arrangement once more. None of the green styrofoam was visible in the rectangle container. He had found some black and yellow paper and had cut them into strips so he could alternatively stick them onto the container. The flowers themselves looked alright. The white roses formed a circle in the center and was surrounded by the pink carnations and that in turn was surrounded by leafy stemmed marigolds.
Sutton nodded as she agreed with Professor Hadley and Minerva. It all sounded good to her. Glenn hadn't given much input so far, but she imagined that the poor girl wasn't exactly at her most-confident at the moment. Sutton really hoped she'd cheer up soon! She didn't like to see people so down.
As the other student entered, Sutton smiled at him and then turned back to the others. "Well, I think that since we have your approval, we should probably just go get started on all the details. Flyers and warning the house elves and making decorations and such," she said, pretty sure they had taken up enough of their Head of House's time. There were probably lots of people waiting to see her. Turning to Minerva now, she asked, "Are you ready or is there anything else we needed to ask?"
Laura wasn't happy with what had just happened in Potions, she had been kicked out for not having a wand Professor Lafay hadn't even let her explain why she didn't have one, her work was suffering because someone had broken her wand and the Professor's weren't helping her.
*KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK*
Laura was that angry she was knocking loudly, she suddenly realised the Professor might but upset with her for knocking so much so she stopped, she was still really wound up though.
Seriously? How many people could be needing Hadley at the. Most. Inconvenient. Time. EVER. Glenn took the seat and stared at the wall behind her head of house's head, listening to her housemates ideas. As the boy came in, she made an obvious turn in her seat so that he couldn't see her blotchy face. As he talked, she idly braided her hair back - just for something to do with her hands.
Really, she wasn't in the mood any time soon for a party. It wasn't like she had anyone to hang out with at any party. Though she DID have one idea, "What kind of music are we having?" She asked quietly, "I have this radio... it can tune into muggle radio stations as well as magical." Magical music was okay... she had a few songs that she knew extremely well - the modern magical stuff she hadn't heard for ages though. Muggle stuff she did.

Running down corridor she found that no matter how far away from the bathroom she got the water was still very much constant and very much soaking through to her socks. Ugh.
She liked water as much as the next guy but NOT when it was coming from the bathroom. The thought alone was enough to make her cringe.
Alexa didn't stop running until she had come to the door of the Arithmancy Professor. Uh...did she knock? Did she barge in then explain that it was an emergency...? She thought for a moment but then the image of the blood quill crossed her mind. Yeah...very cautiously she gave a few quick taps at the door. Waiting was more fun anyway...

Josephina smiled warmly at one of her favorite fifth year hufflepuffs entered the room. Brought her something? OH ....... OH......... She beamed.
"Like?!?" she stared incredulously at Jory and then at the flower arrangement. "What's not to like, Mister Stonewall? They're beautiful! Thank you. So very thoughtful of you," she nodded, shifting the arrangement over to the corner.

Just as she finished up with Jory, there was another knock. Or rather four repetitive raps on her door. Someone was upset. Was her lack of a proper lesson or something more? Another student lose excessive points for getting lost in the Forbidden Forest?
Looking up from her number worksheet, she set her quill down and inhaled deeply and then exhaled. "Come in."

She was never going to get these numbers crunched if she kept getting interrupted. But it seemed that working out these curses was not her forte today, as another student tapped on her door. Cautious taps.
"Come in," Fina said, after a moments hesitation.

Laura looked at Professor Hadley and just stood there, she was going to be polite even if she was in a mood and wait for the Professor to ask her what was wrong.

The lack of immediate response brought Alexa to believe that the Professor wasn't in at the moment. Greeeeaaaaat. She had just run through yucky water and the woman wasn't there?
Oh wait. She heard a response and took that as her cue to enter. Pushing the door slowly she peered in before actually stepping inside. When she saw that she was only working by her desk she relaxed a bit. Now she could get right down to it.
"Professor, something's wrong with the pipes and stuff in the bathroom and the water's flooded the whole bathroom and the second floor! Sarah and Laura tried to stop it but spells aren't working so they sent me to get you." And that was why her socks were now soaked with yucky water. Yup. "Oh and Hello Professor." GRIN.

As the visitor entered her office, Josephina was not surprised to see it be one of her Hufflepuffs; they did seem to make up the majority of her visitors these days. But when the badger seemed content to just stand there, silently, waiting, Fina exhaled sharply. Her concern level now raised a notch more than usual.
"Alright Laura. What's wrong? Relationship troubles? Classwork struggles? Friendship issues?" In other words, spit it out. And hopefully it wasn't anything TOO serious.

Her next visitor wasted no time in getting her words out. Next visitor who was someone that Josephina was SURE she was never going to see in her office after that detention. But yet, as it were, the Gryffindor lioness first year was here. Present. In her office. And spitting out something about water flooding the bathrooms and second floor. Something she vaguely was already aware of, given what happened in her lesson. BUT something the first year did NOT know of, considering her suspension had been lifted near the end of her first lesson and well, she missed the lesson.
"Hello to you too, Alexis and lovely seeing you again. Welcome back," she nodded. Hopefully the girl had learned her lesson finally, from her break away from school.
"Yes, I know the second floor has been experiencing ... water issues.." thankfully only in her classroom and none so far in her office. "I fear though we might need more than just one grown witch's spells to counteract this issue though." Pipes problem? Chamber of secrets? But that hadn't been opened in decades, right? Apparently, in addition to speaking with Sebastian, she was going to have to arrange to speak with Scabior as well. History was useful if it repeated itself.

What was with the look on the Professor's face. You could swear she wasn't happy to see her...that or she was a little shocked at seeing her. Either way there was a look. A look that she would have to dismiss for now because she had more important to stuff to talk about like the--

You'd think that after a night of detention like the one they had her name would have been etched in her memory. Because she had to walk through the second floor to get up to her common room and didn't want her robes and socks getting soaked all the time. Merlin, what DID happen when she was gone?

Laura sighed. "Well I was in Potion and I was trying to tell Professor dr....Lafay." Laura had almost said dragon-lady Lafay but she didn't want to get into trouble. Laura was really worked up, "So I want to know if I can skip her lesson from now, since she doesn't like me at all I'm sure of it." Yeah she was annoyed she lost out on a lesson because of having no wand.

And the list was growing. "I'll talk to her though," Fina added, as an afterthought; just so Laura was clear that she wasn't against her... since after all, Lafay hadn't even given her a chance...

Did Alexis just scowl at her?! Seriously? But then .... no... wait, what was that? Her name was Alexa? "Uh... right, I knew that, ... Alexa," Josephina said, repeating her name. Really, Alexis or Alexa, wasn't all that different and the girl had missed out on her lesson so it'd been awhile since they'd had contact with one another. Understandable mistake, in Fina's eyes anyway, but she did understand the girl's pain. She had always hated when professors called her Josephine.
But names aside, there was bigger fish to fry. "I don't know. I mean, I can't do it alone. But well first we need to figure out what is causing the problem. If it's a plumbing issue, a ghost issue," aka Myrtle. "Or just, well, I don't know really." Anything was possible at Hogwarts.

Mm-hmm. Right. Sure she did.
How did anyone get Alexis from Alexa? Thankfully not many people decided to take it upon themselves to change her name but every once in a while you had people like the dear Professor who clearly felt that her parents had made a mistake in naming her and took it upon themselves to right that wrong. She made a conscious effort to remove the scowl but the woman's next sentence nearly brought it right back.
"So...what you're basically saying is that I wasted my time and my socks running over here because there's nothing you can do about it and in fact the bathroom might just be extra haunted--is Hogwarts under a ghost attack or something?!" That's really all she was getting from the conversation. "That'd be so weird if we were..." She said, more to herself than the Professor. In her mind a plan was already sketching itself out. She could see some late night patrols looking for said ghosts and anything else that might be out to make sure her socks were ruined.

And the list was growing. "I'll talk to her though," Fina added, as an afterthought; just so Laura was clear that she wasn't against her... since after all, Lafay hadn't even given her a chance...
Laura looked at the Professor and sighed, she didn't want to go anywhere near Lafay now. "We were doing something that needed a wand." Laura sighed. "So I told her I didn't have one and she kicked me out, she didn't give me anytime to explain." Laura sighed, she was really upset about that, the Professor was so mean.
Laura was really upset with her Head of House, it seemed like the Professor was against her for some reason, she hadn't destroyed her wand and she hadn't left it somewhere on purpose it was broken and she didn't have a new one yet, then her head of house said she'd speak to Professor Lafay, maybe she wasn't as bad as she seemed. "Thanks Professor."
Seri knocked on Mrs Professors door. Seri hated knocking. It was especially ridiculous when people already had open doors, or when the weren't in or silly things. It was silly. Plus she always knocked too loudly, and then people got annoyed. It wasn't Seri's fault, she was too worried they wouldn't hear her and she'd have to stand outside for AGES and AGES. Seri sighed.
AND it hurt her knuckles. Like really. They were getting all red already. Ugh. Stupid wood doors. Seri had to restrain herself from kicking the door. UGH. Why? At least make it something less hurt-y. ACTUALLY even better; DOORBELLS. Seri love those things. Her mom had always let her ring peoples doorbells; when they went Trick or Treating for Halloween, when she visited her friends, and even when they were at home. And car horns. They were cool. AND those buttons you pressed when you crossed over busy roads. Up until a few years ago when she'd suddenly got taller she could hardly reach the buttons. Though she didn't like those buttons on clothes. They were mostly old-looking and icky. If you were going to put buttons on they should be nice ones right? Seri fiddled with the jade-green velvet buttons her mother had sewn onto her own robes. They had actually been black, but Seri took great pleasure in cutting the ugly ones off and even sewed two of the five buttons on berself. They were also the two buttons whih repetetively came off and it wasn't even Christmas. Perhaps she would send it back and ask her mother to sew them on for her? She thought Slytherin should change their house color anyway, something nice and jade-y, a blue-green kind of colour. Like her buttons right? It was way prettier than the ugly dark emerald shade.

Now it was Josephina's turn to frown. She shook her head at the waste of time comment. "Not quite. Time is never a waste, unless you truly believe it is. I don't know what's causing the problem, but I do know that while at Hogwarts, and even outside the castle walls, one must always be vigilant." So in other words, running all over the castle grounds, thinking things a waste of time, was not best use of vigilance. "Having said that, let us go have a look at the bathroom and see what we can do?"
Because she didn't fancy wearing rubber boots every time she wanted to go down to the Great Hall.
Without waiting for an argument, Fina rose from her seat toward the door.
ooc: next post in the corridor? =]

One of the potions probably needed a wand wave. Or something. But really, for Lafay to not wait for an explanation and just jump to conclusions? Was the pregnancy hormones getting to her and she was taking out on her Hufflepuffs? Well if Hecate thought she would just sit back and take it, she had another thing coming!
"I see. Well like I said, I'll speak with her about letting you make up what you missed in the Potions lab. You should have your wand now though, right?" Because Alexa was back in school and all.

AND it hurt her knuckles. Like really. They were getting all red already. Ugh. Stupid wood doors. Seri had to restrain herself from kicking the door. UGH. Why? At least make it something less hurt-y. Just as she was getting settled into her work again, there was another knock. A loud, raucous knock.
Furrowing her brows together, she stared at the door, wondering who in the name of Wenlock this could be now? "Come in." Fina called out, hoping this wouldn't be a long visit. As it was, she closed her notes and pushed them off to the side of her desk slightly.

Alexa turned on her heel and followed the Professor from the room. Her face fell when she found that all the yucky water she had just waddled through was now gone. Seriously? -___-
No no. This simply wouldn't do. "Oi! Will whoever took the water please return it immediately!" She called to nothing and no one in particular. Walking through yucky water was NOT a hobby or a favourite pass time of hers. Taking the water after she so diligently moved through it wasn't funny in the least bit. She paused for a moment, waiting for it to reappear but when it didn't she turned to the Professor.
"I swear there was water out here--my socks are still wet and everything!" Because she was NOT lying and didn't want the Professor thinking otherwise.

"Oh. Hai Miss Arithmancy teacher." Seri said nonachalantly coming into her room. Good good. "Your chair is much[ comfier than Professor Evi-Potions Lady's chair. Hers is really uncomfy. When I suggested she pick a new one she said she liked the one she had. I don't though. I don't think anyone does. It's really horrible." Seri shrugged. TWAS THE TRUTH. If she every became a Professor or had an office of her own, she was gonna have a big, real comfy sofa.
Wall to wall seating. Get that wallpaper made of cushions or whatever. Big sheepskin rug. Maybe no desk either. Yeah. She would get one of those muggle electronic things. Mmmmhmmm.
Laura had been sent to get Professor Hadley and Professor Hadley she was going to get.
*KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK*
"PROFESSOR HADLEY YOU IN THERE?" Laura was really worried about what had just happened and she knew that Professor Hadley should know, she was really wishing that the Professor would answer the door, she was in a rush.

Having ran at first to catch up with Laura, Ed realised she had a bad foot and wouldn't be getting anywhere too quickly and started to walk instead. Though she had climbed the stairs pretty fast. When he finally caught up with the young Puff, he leant against the wall next to the door. "Is your foot okay?" Silly question, since she'd climbed three flights of stairs.

Huffing and puffing, Pao ran down the hallway towards his aunt's office. This. Was. Serious.
"Auntie Fina!" he said, as a way of asking to come in. Sure, he wouldn't do that for any other professor. But this.. This was Aunt Faith. And this was them being locked out of their common room. His toad was in there! Not good.
But just when he was about to knock, he heard someone call his name. He whipped around and saw Professor Magnus.

Minerva walked down the familiar corridor to her head of house momma Hadley's office. She hadn't stopped by in awhile, but had seen her head more then usual being that they had to be int he great hall watching over the students. She had seen something that caught her interest and had a few questions about it and then a possible favor from Hadley. She hoped she was there and could talk for a few moments.
Knocking on her door she stepped back and waited. Looking around it was super quiet on the second floor, which with recent events sort of made Minerva a bit jumpy. She really hoped the professor was in so she could be with someone else soon. Being alone...was just a been nerve racking for her. As she waited she felt herself glancing in all directions..

Lately, this term, Josephina had felt a mix of feelings. One, that the term just seemed to be flying by and two, she felt .... preoccupied. But now that she'd finally gotten a moment to sit back and work on some grading, she felt the urge to glance out the window instead. At quidditch players practicing for the upcoming championship match.
That was when she heard a knock. Swiveling back around, she glanced at the inside side of the door. Was everything alright? Had the plant thingy finally eaten a human? She had told Seren years ago that plants were unsafe, but the woman refused to listen.
"Come in please," she called to her latest visitor.
