The girls would never live together again, see each other everyday again, do everything together ever again. Even if Selina did not return next year which was something she was really contemplating doing, things still would never be the same. Kurumi was joining the real world, which meant that Kurina playtime was over.
This chapter of their friendship was coming to a close and a new page was starting. It would never be the same.
Finally finding the strength to pull away, Selina looked at her best friend and said with a sad smile, "I'm going to miss being yours. It's never going to be the same again, is it?" Kurumi did not even need to answer... Selina knew.
Kurumi hugged Selina back tightly, memories coming flooding back and how, ironically, she technically had Adam to thank for Selina and her becoming so close. Ug, she didn't want to thank or owe him anything, but there were exceptions to everything and Selina was certainly one of those. Selina would always be an exception and would always be someone that Kurumi would make sure fit into her life no matter where it took her.
Kurumi did eventually pull back when Selina spoke and she simply nodded her head. "
Yes," she answered. Everything would be different. It always was and for some reason Kurumi found herself feeling rather Gryffindor in the face of it all. She wasn't going to be coming back to these tapestries and dorms. She wasn't going to be in the common rooms setting out cookies every Wednesday like she had done since she was a first year. She was just going to be a memory in the minds of those who remained and a name on the plaques listing who the previous student leaders were. And, somehow, she was alright with that. She had done everything she possibly could her seven years here and had left whatever mark she was meant to leave.
It was Selina's turn now to carry that legacy on. "
I'm entrusting Gryffindor to you, you know," she said in a low whisper. Yes, she knew what Selina was still thinking about doing, but Kurumi simply would NOT accept that her best friend would choose not to graduate. "
Selina...thank you...I wouldn't be who I am today without you." Selina had given her the best gift possible and there was just no way that Kurumi could ever repay her.
