Oooh! It... flew! Ed stared at it and followed its movements with his eyes until the sculpture landed on his shoulder. "Heya little guy." He raised a finger to touch it gently and nodded at Nell's information about how to get it back to his pedestal. "He's so awesome! Thanks!" His eyes turned back to her as he beamed. This was, by far, one of the most awesome presents he'd ever gotten! And now he was going to go EVERYWHERE with him.

Louisa crouched where her cats continued to play and roll, occasionally stroking one of them. "Yeah, I have to agree on that." The kiddies didn't seem to mind licking and eating the walls and tables and whatever there was in here. Rolling her eyes at the collecting cats comment, Louisa just gave her cat an extra gentle scratch behind the ears. "The ironic thing is that I was never good with pets before. They detested me, and ended up dead." The dozen or so tombstones in their backyard could attest to this.

"Anyways! Since you obviously can't wait to get out of here, I need to give you my present." She hurried to the window again and used her wand with summoning the wrapped rectangular hard present. It was pretty hard getting something for someone you didn't truly get as a person but Louisa figured that she did know some about Vivi after those months. So. She extended the present with the small card to her friend and gave a tentative smile, "It's not much and I'm terrible at writing sentimental cards. Yet I insist on this present sharing tradition." Cue awkward chuckle and then clearing her throat. "So. Uh.. Happy holidays... and I hope you like it."

"So what changed, then? You obviously are fond of these two ragamuffins, and they're not dead yet. They don't detest you." So the question was... what was different now? What was true before that was no longer true? Not just an intellectual conversation, especially when Vivi wanted to know if Macha would always be a little devil.

She glanced up with surprise and offered a sheepish smile. "It isn't that I want to get out of here. Just distracted, I think," she followed Louisa's movements with interest, and when she pulled the package through the window, Vivi looked on with interest. Of all the people Vivi had prepared a gift for, how funny that Louisa was the one to have a gift in return.

With markedly more enthusiasm, she tore into the wrapping. Oh... Merlin, this was a handy little gift. She studied the different Muggle currencies in the frame with interest, poring over details and the little label at the bottom. Finally, she turned a grin upon Louisa. "It's brilliant. Thank you. I'll keep it in my desk next year at the Ministry for reference."

She actually had her own gifts on her, and Vivi pulled a flat package out of her satchel. "Happy Christmas to you as well."

Out what exactly was that wall made of? Gwen just eyed it for a moment, but her attention was soon caught by Daichi, who was already jumping around and making his way to the next room. Wait- what did he say? He wished this was his house. Gwendolyn just shook her head at that remark, still grinning, though. He would probably eat the entire house in a few days.

As she heard the Slytherin say something, the fifth year made her way to the next room, noticing the… jelly chairs? Yeaaahh… She was going to skip that. Gwen took a quick look around, trying to find other interesting things in that room, but eventually crashed on one of the jelly chairs as well.

It didn’t take long before Daichi discovered something else in the room. A wall… made out of jelly beans? Willing to pick up one of the beans, the Ravenclaw noticed Daichi’s reaction, as he got a spicy jelly bean. All riiiight. Maybe she’ll pass. Anyway, she was really unlucky when it came to picking jelly beans.

‘Eat something else. Maybe the bad taste will go’ That, or it will become even worse. Eh. Gwen started taking a few steps towards the staircase she had spotted earlier, which turned out to be made out of chocolate. Hmm. Wonder what’s upstairs…

The fifth year made her way to the next level of the house, rapidly ascending the stairs. Stopping at the top of the staircase, Gwendolyn gave a quick look around. Wow. An entire room made out of edible furniture?! ‘You have to see this’, she told Daichi.

... 'and they're not dead yet'. Ouch. Louisa frowned at the words but kept her eyes on the two cats. She couldn't get mad at Vivi, though, the girl doesn't know of Kitty nor Atropos nor this summer's drama. "I don't know. I think what I feel for those who gave me the cats extended to the creatures themselves." her frown fell then and she scratched Cuddles behind the ears lovingly. "Distracted?" It.. didn't make sense but alright.

The enthusiasm that Vivi showed was overwhelming that the small frown from before was quickly forgotten and replaced with a bright anticipating smile. OH! Brilliant? And she'll keep it as a reference? Just.. wow. Louisa couldn't help but feel proud. And touched. "I'm really glad you're not going to throw it in the basement." Hehe, that's where Louisa's trash went back home.

Apart from her alumni friends, no one gave Louisa a Christmas present so far. She never really acknowledged this simple gesture before, friends were supposed to remember each other with a card at least, and until this year Louisa took it for granted, that cozy and happy feeling you get when you know someone thought of you without you being there with them.

She left her spot near the cats and excitedly snatched took the TWO -- not one but TWO packages from Vivi. "You know, you're the first one to say it to me this year, Vivi." She informed the roomie, tearing at the first package eagerly. Louisa hoped it was one of her favorite presents, a book, and it was! And not just any book, one that'd get them closer to their goal of defeating Scabior. "Oh, wow!" Louisa's fire had two different sides; It burns when she's ticked off but it glows when she's pleased, like right then. The next smaller package was more feminine and... touching. She stared down at the rune carved on the silvery necklace before looking up at Vivi and pulling her in a one-armed friendly hug. "Thank you. They're really great." See, now Louisa might have lost a friend this term, but she gained another!

"Be careful of that, I suppose. You wouldn't want to stop loving a pet because you fall out with the person who gifted it to you." Not that she was in any danger of that... she'd bought Macha for herself, and up or down or sideways, Vivi generally felt the same about herself.

She clutched the gift from Louisa to her chest and scowled playfully. "The basement? Are you mad? Even if I didn't like it, I wouldn't tell you I'd chuck it into the basement. I'd pretend." She glanced at the money again before giving Louisa a pleased smile. "But seriously, thank you. It's very thoughtful of you to remember that I'm a helpless baby when it comes to Muggle things."

As Louisa began to tear into her own gift, Vivi leaned back against the gingerbread wall. It appeared that the gift was a success, which was a relief. After the thought that had gone into the gift from Louisa, she didn't want the girl to think she'd chosen anything lightly. And then she was being hugged, which was... not entirely unpleasant. "You're welcome. The charm is a protective rune. Should provide some defensive magic, as well as making you more alert should you ever be in danger." She remembered well the way Louisa had tensed up during Defense.

Louisa waved Vivi's warning off, "Don't worry. I don't think it's a two-ways kind of feeling. When I hated my ex's guts, I didn't kill off Viola." How cool was that? Then came the chuckle, "How can I forget?" It wasn't easy to see beyond the go-getter girl and discover the spoiled helpless baby within. As Vivi explained about the necklace, Louisa unlcasped it and attempted to put it on already, "You have no idea how much I love protective runes." Although they proved to be useless this summer. Her hands fumbled with the necklace for a bit but eventually she managed to wear it. Her fingers kept touching the carved rune as she spoke, "Thank you again." It was a much quieter 'thank you'. Did Vivi notice that her roomie had nightmares and woke up startled and way too sweaty? Hmm.

Kneeling down and taking one of the cats into her arms, the cat started squirming and trying to escape at once. "Now we can leave. The headmistress told us to wrap things up early, get all the students out and clean things. You can help with evacuating the place." With a badge or not, Louisa always had this spirit of organizing and handing out duties. Also, the word 'evacuating' might be a bit too much. Hmm. Again.

"Runes are dead useful, which is why it's such a shame people are so uninformed about them. They like the pretty trick of fortune telling without the practical and powerful applications in charms work and warding," Vivi had a pedantic tone that put her bossy tone to shame. She watched Louisa put on the necklace without comment.

At the instruction to pack up and leave, Vivi rose and reached for the second cat. Who was he again? Sugar lamb? Whatever. "I get roped into a lot of Head Girl tasks without any of the perks. Doesn't seem fair, does it?" She rose and gestured for the door. After you, HGL.
