Hecate was not well at all. Her skin had become somewhat transparent, with a hue of gray. She looked cold and ill. She stood at the back of the classroom, as she smelled like rotting flesh, and didn't want the children smelling her.
This was her last class, then she could leave and try her luck with the African healers. She opened the door with her wand, and held herself up against the back wall.
She would finish this class.

Waiting for her unction to solidify, Kendall's attention had gone back to Professor Lafay as soon as she had heard the woman speak again. So someone, apparently one of her housemates, had actually had the courage to ask the professor if sheneeded help, and, surprisingly, the response hadn't been as biting as it could have been. How it should have been, considering Kendall was pretty well terrified of the woman even when she didn't look like she was halfway to turning into a zombie. She remembered the past few terms, at least, which really was why she was so confused by the mood swings now. Zombies didn't have mood swings, not that she was aware. But Professor Lafay isn't a zombie yet, so maybe whatever's turning her into one is making her act weird, she thought, turning back to her cauldron only to see that the contents had solidified.
Well, that's good, she thought, still internally cringing at how much it looked like blood. Dried blood, at that, because normal blood wouldn't be all thick and solid-ish, and she was supposed to actually use it on something. She couldn't think of a single thing she wanted to subject to having that spread onto. She still had to turn it in, though. She was enough of a Ravenclaw to want the points for having succeeded in creating it, even if it creeped her out. Pulling two jars out of her kit, a larger and a teeny one, she Scourgified both before pulling a spoon out and doing the same. Then, she proceeded in transferring the unction to the jars, starting with the single spoonful for the tiny one, then the rest got scooped into the larger before she switched her attention to writing out labels. Attaching those to the jars, she slid the tiny one back into her bag, then took the larger one up to the professor. "Thank you for the lesson," she said simply, setting her jar down amongst the others. "I hope you feel better soon."
That last part had slipped out before she could stop it, but she did mean it. She'd rather not have a professor turn into a zombie or die or anything. Either way, she had turned back to her workstation, writing down the homework, re-Scourgifying everything, and slipping the smaller things back into her bag before making sure the rest of the area was spotless too, and then she picked her things up and left. Time to figure out what to make bigger.

Laura put on her gloves and then did what she was told, she put her unction in a jar leaving a spoonful and with that bit she put it in a different container, she walked over to the Professor and handed the jar in. "Here you go Professor." Laura smiled. "Thanks for the lesson, hope you feel better soon." And with that Laura left.

Then came the part of the lesson that the girl was always least happy about...handing in her hard work.
She didn't know why the Professor couldn't be the one to have he spoonful while she kept the jar but asking that question right now didn't seem all that smart--gasp, she was having a smart moment; no need to die right after, especially since this was the final class. She survived without getting herself blown up even once. GRIN.
Lex did as she was told and got most of the unction in the jar. "Here you go Professor...hope you feel better." and like not DIE before the start of next term--or until she graduated, but of course she wouldn't be saying that either. Then she left the class with what little unction she had.
What would she even do with it...?

Oh, that was it? They were finished. Well, that was fast. Kat immediately wore her gloves and took a spoon. She took a spoonful of the unction and poured it inside a vial. It was only just for homework, not that she needed it to make something larger 10 times its size. The rest of the potion, Kat placed inside a jar.
The blonde approached the Potion Mistress and handed over her jar filled with Growth Unction. Once she placed it on top of her table, Kat looked at her. All her emotions flooding of losing Lafay, Kat's favorite Head of House. "Here, Professor," Kat said. "Thank you... for the wonderful lesson... and for everything."
Ugh. The tears must be fought back. Kat had to leave before Lafay sees the weakness in her. Turning around, Kat picked up a pace and started walking out the room's door. MUST NOT BE WEAK.

Ingredients
Water
1 Dragon Liver
1 Fluxweed Root
1 cup of Bubotuber Puss
1 teaspoon of Yeast
5 Pufferfish Eyes
1 Leg of Newt
2 Bat Spleens
3 drops of Re'em Blood
Procedure
Clean the cauldron (Scourgify) and fill it with water but not surpassing the neck of the cauldron. (Aguamenti)
Cut the dragon liver in the measurement of two centimeters or one-inch square.
Add the liver bits one by one and stir clockwise.
Grate the fluxweed root manually and add to cauldron. It should be the color of red.
Add the cup of bubotuber puss.
Add in the teaspoon of yeast to the cauldron and stir twice counterclockwise.
Stab each Pufferfish eye at the back with the stirring rod and drop them in the cauldron.
Slice the newt leg open until the bone shows.
Cut the bat spleens as fine as you can and add to the cauldron.
Stir the liquid counterclockwise once.
Drop three drops of the Re'em blood. Each drop must have a corresponding color once in contact with the potion. Order: pink, blue, deep dark red.
Use Incrementum and the potion will solidify.
Turn off the fire and wait.

Belle then heard the professor saying the next set of directions. Belle then put her gloves on. Better safe than sorry right? Belle took a spoonful and put it into a jar. She kept the last little bit for to do homework.
Belle then copied down the homework and cleaned up her work station. She wanted to do it manually. Then she had to think what she would want to make larger. It had to be three inches. That should not be so hard.
As Belle packed up her bag, Belle then said to the Professor, "Well thanks for the lesson professor. I hope you feel better."
She turned to the rest of the class and said "Put your gloves on, and put all but a spoonful of your unction in a jar, and turn it in. The last spoonful you may keep and use of anything you wish to. Sarah put on her gloves and began to but the brew into a jar. She had emptied the brew before remembering about the last spoonful so she took a spoonful out. She can use it for what she wanted. So what was for homework the spoon all the rest. She handed in the jar and looked around for a vial. Finding one, she placed the spoon inside. Great, now there was homeworks. "Thank you for the lesson!" she said maing her way out the door

Louisa had her gloves already out from when they had to deal with the eyes. So she slipped them back on and brought an empty jar closer. With her wand she scourgified it from the outside and the inside before moving to the spoon. Time to scoop the unction! It wasn't very hard, and the potion did start to solidify. She filled the jar and left some for her homework. Taking off the gloves, she made a tag of her name, year and house and attached it to the full jar.
She added a few notes to her parchment ending the page and staring at it for a second, this was going to be her last potion taught in this class ever. Sigh. Louisa started packing her things, again taking a bit too much time, mounted her backpack and took the small bottle of unction in her hand tightly.
Keeping after Vickers again as he started toward the door, Louisa was very nervous to say anything to Lafay. She was very grateful to the woman for helping her out, subconsciously tucking her hair behind her ear. "Uhh.. I thank you, Mistress Lafay." Quickly running out the door behind her boyfriend.
So she had survived her last potions lesson of the term. Hopefully Professor Lafay would get healthy again so she could teach more next term too. She didn't get to know her very well and at times thought she'd been a bit harsh, but she still wished the woman well.
She scooped the potion from the cauldron like she had been instructed and put it into a jar. The last spoonful amount, she spooned into a vial to take with her for her homework. Now what do I want to make larger? My bed of course...but then the dormitory would get too crowded, wouldn't it? She'd have to think about it.
She walked to the teacher's desk and handed in her jarred potion and earnestly thanked her for the lesson. "Thank you Professor Lafay for the lessons this year," she said in a sincere tone. And then she added something she thought the professor might appreciate hearing. "You give good instructions." And not that she wanted to be worried after any more, but Eliza just felt like she should say it. "I hope you start feeling better soon." She gave her a sad smile and the little first year left the classroom.

Sierra snapped her gloves onto her hands and then scooped up a spoonful of the unction. She bottled in then slipped the bottle in her pocket, so she could pack the rest of her things. She tuned out the details of the homework. She'd catch it later in the common room. Right now, there were more important things to do.
She slung her bag over her shoulder and made way to the front of the room. She tapped a chair with her wand, causing it to scoot a few feet across the floor and come to a stop next to her mother's chair. She took a seat, yet she didn't drop her bag to the floor. She had a feeling she wouldn't be here for long.
She glanced behind her and made sure nobody was in the general vicinity. "Really, ...what can I do for you?" she asked. The expression on her face was a mixture of trying to be as strong as possible and trying to keep from falling to pieces. "Anything--take care of Mephisto, maybe? Lucille?" The lab? Their house?

Growth Unction a potion that when rubbed onto something will enlarge itself. It isn't to be used on food or edible items and should NOT be ingested.
Ingredients
Water
1 Dragon Liver
1 Fluxweed Root
1 cup of Bubotuber Pus
1 teaspoon of Yeast
5 Pufferfish Eyes
1 Leg of Newt
2 Bat Spleens
3 drops of Re'em Blood
Procedure
clean cauldron
fill cauldron with water
light burner
cut dragon live in two centimeter chunks
drop each piece into cauldron
stir clockwise ONCE → potion will be red
grate fluxweed root into cauldron
add the cup of Bubotuber pus
add yeast
stir twice counterclockwise
stab pufferfish eyes in the back with your stirring rob over the cauldron
drop pufferfish eyes into the cauldron
slice it open newt leg with a silver knife so the bone shows
drop it in the cauldron
take bat spleens and with the same silver knife chop them up as finely as you can.
add them and stir once counterclockwise.
drop ONE drop of Re'em Blood and wait until the color turns pink
drop the second and wait until it turns blue
drop the third and watch as it turns a deep, dark red
cast Incrementum on contents
turn off burner and let thicken
Vials out, Kurumi took one spoonful and kept that for herself before putting the rest into a larger one to turn in. After jotting down the homework and cleaning up her station, Kurumi set the vial on Professor Lafay's desk and simply bowed her head before returning to her things and packing up. She really had no idea what she wanted to use this unction on...and it was even harder to think of something when her thoughts were so distracted.
Maybe she should go outside and get some fresh air?
Homework written down, Kurumi was about to walk out of the classroom when she remembered something and scurried her way back to Professor Lafay's desk. "Professor," Kurumi said as she resisted the urge to bit down on her lower lip. "I just...I just wanted to say thank you for seven years of teaching me Potions." Because the woman was the only professor who had been there ALL seven terms of her Hogwarts experience and, while Kurumi had never really grown to like the subject, Treyen was right that she knew her brewing.
"I'm sure, wherever your mother is, she is very proud of you Prefect Hollingberry." She said with a nod. "As am I..." she whispered.

Taking out his wand, he took a deep breath before completing the casting.
Point...raise up..."Incrementum."
With that being done, he turned the fire beneath his cauldron off with another movement of his wand , waiting for it to solidify. Gideon then slipped his gloves on and sat waiting for it to be a satisfactory thickness. Spooning it into a jar when it was, he got up and moved to hand it in before returning and cleaning up his belongings. With the final action of writing down the homework and taking the collection of the final remaining spoonful he was done and packed up.
"Good day, Professor and thank you for the lesson.," he said as he walked towards the door. "For all the lessons," he added adding the last as he remembered the significance of the end. And with that he left with a bittersweet feeling within him.
"You are welcome Prefect Gert. I hope you will continue will your potioneering, you have great potential." She said to the boy.

Ugh. The tears must be fought back. Kat had to leave before Lafay sees the weakness in her. Turning around, Kat picked up a pace and started walking out the room's door. MUST NOT BE WEAK.

Ingredients
Water
1 Dragon Liver
1 Fluxweed Root
1 cup of Bubotuber Puss
1 teaspoon of Yeast
5 Pufferfish Eyes
1 Leg of Newt
2 Bat Spleens
3 drops of Re'em Blood
Procedure
Clean the cauldron (Scourgify) and fill it with water but not surpassing the neck of the cauldron. (Aguamenti)
Cut the dragon liver in the measurement of two centimeters or one-inch square.
Add the liver bits one by one and stir clockwise.
Grate the fluxweed root manually and add to cauldron. It should be the color of red.
Add the cup of bubotuber puss.
Add in the teaspoon of yeast to the cauldron and stir twice counterclockwise.
Stab each Pufferfish eye at the back with the stirring rod and drop them in the cauldron.
Slice the newt leg open until the bone shows.
Cut the bat spleens as fine as you can and add to the cauldron.
Stir the liquid counterclockwise once.
Drop three drops of the Re'em blood. Each drop must have a corresponding color once in contact with the potion. Order: pink, blue, deep dark red.
Use Incrementum and the potion will solidify.
Turn off the fire and wait.
"Miss Hudson. I do plan on returning next year." She said with a nod. This cure had better work...

Louisa had her gloves already out from when they had to deal with the eyes. So she slipped them back on and brought an empty jar closer. With her wand she scourgified it from the outside and the inside before moving to the spoon. Time to scoop the unction! It wasn't very hard, and the potion did start to solidify. Keeping after Vickers again as he started toward the door, Louisa was very nervous to say anything to Lafay. She was very grateful to the woman for helping her out, subconsciously tucking her hair behind her ear. "Uhh.. I thank you, Mistress Lafay." Quickly running out the door behind her boyfriend.
"Stay out of Knockturn Alley Prefect Carter... Head Girls, especially Ravenclaw ones, are smarter than that." She said to her retreating form... plus she wouldn't be around to re-grow the girl's hair again...

"You need to take care of your father and your sister for me while I take care of myself. Now go." She said escorting her out the door and into the corridor and locking the classroom behind them for one more year...
