What's in the Cards?

This thread will be used to update students on upcoming Divination lessons, events, and new homework assignments. Be sure to check her often and maybe even suscribe. Be sure to share the information here with your classmates!

Divination Lesson One

Who: All students!

When: March 6th around Noon (EST), 5pm GMT

Where: Divination Tower Classroom

What to bring: Comfortable clothing and your thinking caps

OCC: Be sure to read up on the Classroom Rules before posting yoru character in the lesson thread. There will be plenty of time for everyone to arrive before I start the lesson so no worries there. I look forward to seeing all who attend!

Homework Assignment
Lesson One

1.) Name at least one famous ‘Fortune-Teller’ from Muggle or Wizarding Literature or from history. (2 point)

2.) What types of readings or activities are common for fortune-tellers to practice? Extra point for descriptions. (2 points)

3.) Why do you think those who specifically practice fortune-telling, not Divination as a whole, dress the way they do? (2 points)

4.) What does a cart/wagon do for a fortune teller? What is it used for or what could it be used for? (2 points)

5.) In your own opinion do you believe fortune-telling is legitimate or faked? (2 points)

OR

6.) Draw your’s or your team’s Fortune Teller’s wagon. (10 points)

Divination Lesson Two

Where: Divination Tower Classroom

What to bring: An open mind to access into the Beyond!

OCC: Be sure to refresh on the Classroom Rules before posting your character in the lesson thread. There will be plenty of time for everyone to arrive before I start the lesson so no worries!

Homework Assignment
Lesson Two

Using your rock set you created in Divination class, find someone (classmate or staff member) to conduct a Lithomancy reading on. For your reading I want you to draw out what the reading feild looks like with the positions of the stones included and labeled with a parchment with each week's interpretation listed.

Be sure to clear your mind before starting!

OCC: Pretty much you need to find a partner (as in ONE other person) of some sort and rp doing a Lithomancy reading on them. In order to recieve full points your Pm should contain the following:

* Drawing of your playing field with rocks as they 'landed'.
* Individual week interpretations based on the rocks and the subject's life.
* A link to the rp where the reading has taken place. (Minimum of 3 posts by stone caster)

NOTE: If you are working with another person from this lesson and both want to use the same rp to complete it you both will need at least 3 posts each actually casting, reactions to your partner explaining your reading do not count.

This homework is due Friday, July 6th at 11:59 pm EST (4:59 am GMT). No late work will be accepted. If you get stuck look back at the lesson and my examples and/or pm me with questions.

Homework Assignment
Lesson Three

Because our lesson in the Forbidden Forest was interrupted, the original plan to create and use your own set of Ogham Staves was pushed back and is now going to be assigned as your homework. I want each of you to go forth and finish craving the correct Ogham symbol and Celtic letter on the 20 corresponding wood type sticks you collected, ask them two questions, and record your answers.

OCC: Rp somewhere carving your sticks with the Ogham symbol and Celtic letter found on the parchment given in THIS POST. The carving can be done in one post IF you do it detailed and not just a one liner. It should be at least two good paragraphs--you may also break it up into a few posts if you wish to do it with a partner, etc.

The questions you ask your Staves need to be rped by asking them the question and then picking one from a bag or pile without looking at them. Record your answers in the pm to me.

What I'm looking for in the Pm:
+ A link/s to your character creating their 20 Ogham Staves (carving letter and symbol into the corresponding wood)
+ Link to rp where you do a drawing to answer 2 questions.

Due date: The assignment is due August 2nd at 11:59 pm EST (4:59 am GMT).
