Herbology Lesson Three

It was a lovely Spring day, and the Summer would soon be upon them, which meant... holidays!
Whether it was because the day felt lazy, or whether it was the tedium of end of year exams and the mountain of marking which would come with it, Seren wasn't in a hurry to do the prep for her lesson.

As you make your way over to the Terrace, you fine there are no pots, no plants -- other than those IN the actual garden surrounding the area. There isn't even a single sack of dung. The cute little tables and chairs, their white paint gleaming in the dappled sunlight that filter through the branches, are a lot more comfortable than they appear.
To the side of the Terrace you see the old blackboard which has been wheeled out of the greenhouses for the occasion. It reads...

Ira was feeling cheerful, especially since the weather was as warm as she liked. Yes! And summer was nearly there! That signaled a good thing and a bad thing.. Good thing that summer holidays were near, and bad thing that the finals were even more near! Sigh.

Anyways, Ira walked onto the terrace for her Herbology lesson, carrying her bag on her shoulder. o_O Ira stared at the cute little tables and chairs arranged, and smiled. No dung she could see, nor was there any mess. And the garden looked beautiful!

Making her way to one of the tables, she sat down, and kept her bag at her feet. Huh? Where was Professor Bentley?

Emmanuelle had a smile on her face as she made her way to the terrace. The weather had finally turned nice and the stupid snow and cold was long gone. Reaching the terrace, the first thing she noticed was that there was no plants around except the ones that already surrounded the area. Were they going to be studying them today? Or was it just an oral lesson where they were going to be answering questions? Curious to find out, she took a seat at one of the tables and waited for the professor to show up.

Chelle made her way to the tarrace happily, looking forward to the Herbology Lesson. The weather was getting better and more pleasant everyday, and Chelle was finding it easier to breathe. She seemed to be in good spirits lately, at the thought of being able to see Jake again. As she got there, she read the message on the board. Humming quietly to herself, she took a seat and waited for the lesson to begin.

There had been at least a little curiosity when Stella had seen that the next Herbology lesson was taking place at the terrace. Mainly because she couldn't see how they would be planing much there. Possibly they were just going to be caring for the little garden that surrounded it, but she knew she wasn't going to find out quite yet. She had to actually go to the lesson, no matter how much she'd rather just hole up in the library and continue studying for NEWTs. The weather was finally warmer, which only meant the exams were that much closer and her anxiety over them had ratcheted up again. At least, oddly enough, getting the fresh air and going to the lesson would be a distraction. Maybe I'll be able to relax a little, she thought, walking across the grounds toward the terrace.

As she arrived, she looked around in amusement. If there hadn't been the flowers in the garden, there really wasn't anything that indicated a herbology lesson there beyond the blackboard. Professor Bentley wasn't even there, so she decided to just follow the instructions that had been left and make herself comfortable at one of the cute little tables. Hopefully the professor would arrive soon. It felt odd not greeting her first thing upon arriving at the lesson.

Hmmm...interesting.

This was a Herbology lesson right?

As the fourth year walked into the classroom she noticed that seemed to be no plants on the working tables. Of course there were the usual plants in the garden, but still it was odd. Usually the Professor lay out plants for them to work with, but maybe the Professor had decided to hide the things somewhere, today. Or maybe they would just be doing theory...or maybe they were working with the garden plants? Who knew? Ness hoped the Professor did.

You could definitely tell spring and summer were on their way, and that put Nessie in a good mood. She disliked the winter quite a lot. With a smile on her face, Nessie headed over to a table and then took a seat.

Feeling all cheerful that the weather was now waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better, Lea Carter walked to the terrace happily apparently in a quite good mood. The Terrace looked beautiful too. She secretly wished it could be hers. ALL HERS. So she could do whatever she wanted, maybe even holding super parties. Yup. This looked to be a good place for a party.

A party during which she would let her kite dragon 'Wild Eater' eat all the guests. Hehehehe.

Whatever...

It was Herbology time.

For a moment, she just stood and stared at the blackboard. Okaaaaaay. So? What now?

"Morning, Professor Bentley." said Ness a small smile forming on her face. "Lovely day, isn't it?" asked Ness as she beamed some more whilst smelling the lovely fresh air.

Alyssa walked out into the Terrace and was glad to see that class had not started yet. It was strange to be having classes out here and not in the greenhouse so she was excited to see what the Professor was going to be teaching them today. There were cute little white tables and chairs arranged in the terrace and Lyssie looked around but couldn't see Professor Bentley anywhere. She looked at the blackboard and read what was written there.

She looked to see who was already there and spotted Nessie. So she went over to her. "Hi Nessie, I hope you don't mind if you join you at this table." she asked before taking out her writing material and got ready for the lesson.

Herbology class...regardless of weather...was never one to be missed. Though the blissful springtime conditions certainly gave it an added boost of energy, the change of scenery not harmful as well. Gideon made his way down to the terrace, a place he admitted he didn't spend much if any time ready for today's lesson, whatever it may be.

"Goo-" the prefect was about to great Professor Bentley, only to see that the woman wasn't there at the moment. So instead he simply followed the instruction on the blackboard and took a seat in an unoccupied chair to await the class to begin.

Herbology.

Messer likes Herbology. Its really interesting lesson and not to mention that they have a great Herbology Professor.

He walked into the Terrace with a very good mood. He was gonna greet the Professor like he always did every time he walked into the classroom but he didn't see Professor Bentley anywhere. He only saw an instruction on the blackboard. So he went to find himself a seat.

Hair tied back in a ponytail in anticipation for what was surely going to be another active lesson, Kurumi made her way down to the terrace for another Herbology adventure. Or, erm, whatever today turned out to be. It was often hard to tell with Professor Bentley and her array of plants. Speaking of the woman...where was she?

Adjusting the strap on her bag absently, Kurumi looked around the area at everyone present before her gaze fell on the chalk board. Well, there really wasn't much else to do but wait now was there? Kurumi found an empty chair and sat down, not really looking around to see who else was there and instead pulled her textbook out of her bag and began to idly flipped through the pages.

Addie walked into Herbology class with a smile on her face ready to greet Professor Bentley, except when she looked around the classroom there was no Professor to be found. Addie quickly read the sign on the old blackboard and went to take a seat at an empty table and waited. Herbology was always a fun class and Addie was excited, but why wasn't the Professor here yet, they couldn't have class without her.

Whatever...that wasn't the matter now. Addie sat and waited for the Professor to arrive.

Silvia made her way out to the terrace for Herbology. The weather had begun to warm up, which put her in a good mood. She was beginning to wonder what they would be doing today when she came upon the terrace to find that nothing was set up for the lesson. That only made her even more curious. Was the professor just a little late in setting out whatever they would be working with, or did she have something special in mind for today's lesson? Oh well, she would just have to wait to find out. Silvia took a seat at one of the tables and pulled out parchment and quill, ready to take notes once Professor Bentley arrived.

No plants.... No professor... No class? Heh. One could hope, but Milton figured that wasn't the case. Too bad.

Milton made his way into the terrace. It was actually the first time he'd been over here. And... it was... terracey. Dropping his bag onto the ground, he plopped onto s eat, which was surprisingly more comfortable than it looked, at an empty table and waited for Professor Bentley to arrive.

Entering the terrace, Cassia was glad that the lesson was held here. It's a nice place to have a lesson in. But wait a minute....Where is the Professor? Actually not just the professor was missing. Everything was...except for students! Could the Professor have forgotten about the lesson...Nah the could't be.

Maybe the Professor was bringing something and it too sometime! Could be. Anyway the first year found a chair ad settled. She grinned feeling how comfy the chair was.

Nerida had to do a double take when she entered the Terrace where the Herbology Lesson would be. There was not any pots, plants, or even a simple bag of dung all that was there was a chalkboard. She was about to say good morning to the Professor when she noticed she was not there. Hmm where was the woman?

Seeing Kurumi sit at a table she walked over to that table and asked "Hey Kurumi! Mind if I sit with you?" It would be intresting to see what the Professor had in mind for the lesson, since there wasnt any plants or pots or dung then they wouldnt be planting would they?

Hastily packing his book bag from finishing his homework in the Library, the Ravenclaw made his way out the great Oak doors and turned towards the greenhouses. He made his way up the terrace and looked around quickly. Other than the chairs, things looked pretty sparse. He dug into the pocket of his robes, feeling that particular parchment crunching under his fingertips. Yes, the first chance he would get to burn that parchment he would gladly toss it in. But he did think it odd that the Professor asked that they bring something for burning and to say that she added BOOKS on the suggested items got Vickers a little stressed. Why would anyone want to burn books?

He settled himself into a seat and found himself sitting next to the his fellow Ravenclaw (Milton) and Kurumi who was reading a book. She wasnt thinking of burning that was she?

Out goes the fresh parchment and his trusty quill. Now where's the Professor?

Time for herbology! WOO HOO! Merlin, this was great. Out of all of Selina's classes, she always looked forward to going to see Bentley. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that she got to spend an entire period with her Head of House, or maybe it had something to do with the fact that she got to spend an entire class period NOT stuck in a stuffy classroom. Whatever the case may be, Selina loved coming to Herbology.

As she walked into the colorful greenhouse she noted that it was empty. Sure, there were students and all, but the actual supply side of Herbology was no where to be seen. And neither was Bentley.

Though she had planned to leave her office at a reasonable time, she had been distracted by her hyper bundle of fluff, Caltex, and her fanged geraniums. For some reason they chose today to play 'who can bite the hardest', and as a result she'd spent some time playing peace ~~enforcer~~keeper.

But alas, the class was just outside and around the corner, she wouldn't be late.

"Greetings all!" she said cheerfully as she approached the group and grabbed herself a chair, dragging it in front of the board.

"I trust you all read the class notice and brought the required items with you?" she asked, glancing around at the tables.They did follow instructions yes?
"Has anybody forgotten anything?"

OOC: Welcome! The class has officially begun, so for your sake don't announce your late arrival. The lesson will continue in approx 12 hours.

Alyssa quickly sat up when Professor appeared greeting everybody. Then she asked whether everyone had brought the things she has asked them to bring for this class.

Alyssa grabbed her bag and took out an old muggle newspaper, made sure her dragon hide gloves were in her robes pocket and of course her wand. Check....check...and check and since she always wore sneakers to class, nodded in confirmation.

Anya nodded at the Professor's question. She looked down at her shoes. Tennis shoes. Check. She patted her pocket. Dragonhide gloves. Check. And her note taking material and pretty much all the issues of the Daily Prophet since school started were safely in her bag.

She was ready to burn things!

Spike nodded slowly at Professor Bentley's question. He'd been so close to bringing his charms textbook with him as the item to burn, but thought better of it in the end. Unfortunately he had to sit an OWL in it at the end of term, and it might come in useful. Of course, that was doubtful, as Spike had learnt more charms in his few lessons with Ellie and Finn than he ever had from his book. Actually, even Indy had used it more than he had, and she was two years behind Spike.

As for his other things? He patted his pockets. Dragon hide gloves, check (even if he preferred not to wear them wherever possible). Notepad and pencil, check.

Smile? Of course...it was Herbology!

Tucking one leg behind the other, Kurumi bent down to open up her school bag and began to rummage through it for her item and return her Herbology book. The soft creaking of the chair next to her alerted the Gryffindor that someone else had come to join her and her lips curled into a shy smile when she saw Vickers. "Hey Vickers," she greeted as she sat back up, this time without her textbook and with a small wooden plaque in her hand which she set on the table. "What did you bring?"

And then Professor Bentley arrived to officially begin the lesson and Kurumi straightened up in her seat a little bit more. Kurumi simply nodded when Professor Bentley asked the class if they had read the notice. Yep, check and check.

Kurumi's fingers began to trace the contours of the wood object in her hands while she waited for...whatever was coming next.

Annabelle walked down to the greenhouse. She smelt the summer air and was excited for the holidays to start. She looked at the board and was wondering what she was missing. She had her dragon hide gloves, her notebook and quills to write down things. She took a seat and waited for the next set of instructions. She knew she didn't forget anything, unless she did...?
