One of the most rewarding things you can do in your seven years at Hogwarts is win the House Cup. It is not an easy feat, but with a little effort and a little perseverance anything is possible. In the common room, a poster of a lion may be found on the wall by the noticeboard. Here, Professor Bentley, your Head of House, will display the names of the top five achieving students and leave a few words of wisdom. These names will be updated on a regular basis, so be sure to keep up with classes and homework if you hope to glimpse your name on this prestigious list. The lion is enchanted, and will purr affectionately when approached by one of the top students, however if you have been lazy, don't worry too much. He can't hurt you, though he might try to take a swipe at you with his paw. Good things he's just a poster.
To be in with a chance, be sure to attend all your classes and complete any homework assignments in a timely manner.
United we will conquer, divided and we will be defeated.
OOC: Welcome to the Roar Awards! Here I will post the top five students with the highest house points. To give Gryffindor a fighting chance at winning the cup this term, all you need to do is get involved. Lessons and homework will earn you points, unless of course you break the rules, then you will lose points. But the main point is to keep spirits high and do whatever you're comfortable with. Welcome young Lions, to a new school year. The points race for the title of the House Cup has officially begun as the first lot of points have been awarded. Remember to attend your classes, and don't be late! Remember to hand in your homework in a timely manner and remember to get involved with the happenings around the school. Keep your eyes on the noticeboard for all current lesson and homework information. A huge congratulations to you all, Gryffindor are currently in THIRD place, we're 155 points away from the leaders and are 20 points clear of Hufflepuff... lets increase that margin yes?

After a fast-pace start to the term, you're probably getting into the swing of things. By now you should have a stable routine, make sure you're balancing your social lives and extra curricular activities with your studies. Education should be your number one priority.
Find you're struggling to keep up? Don't know how to prioritise? Then check out the Noticeboard for current and upcoming classes as well as a list of all current homework assignments. Remember, every little bit counts. The Lions are currently in last place on an a steady 611 points. Well done! We're only 117 points away from the Badgers. Let's teach them that we're not to be trifled with.
Need some help or want to combine business and pleasure? Then make use of the various resources at the Study Tables. Grab some snacks and tackle homework together!

Keep up the solid work Lions! Though we may not be in the hunt for the House Cup, at least we're not trailing by a dragons tail. We're only 248 points behind Hufflepuff, and it would not be an impossible task to overtake them. BUT... in order to do that, we need to be united, we need to fight. Instead of picking your nose, snogging strange people and gorging yourself on chocolate frogs, how about you pick up your quill and get some homework done?
If you lack organisational skills, or just don't know where to begin, then check out the Noticeboard for current and upcoming classes as well as a list of all current homework assignments. EVERYTHING counts. Each homework submission will put YOUR house, just that little bit closer to the Badgers. You don't want to lose to the Badgers do you?
