Gideon made his to the corridor by the courtyard at the time they had arranged. Selina had mentioned in passing that she had wanted to talk about something and while she didn't seem upset, he had to admit he was a little nervous not knowing what it was about. Good or bad, he wasn't about to make her wait so he made sure to get there roughly on time. Reaching his destination, the prefect was glad that it seemed quiet with no one around. Stopping at one point, he awaited his would-be companion. His hands in his pockets as he leaned lightly against a post looking out into the courtyard.

Selina was so glad to be back at school. Every summer when she left she felt as if she were ready for a break from the castle grounds, but toward the end of the holiday months she was itching to be back in school. So now that she was back she was walking around with a smirk permanently attached to her lips. It was as if she could not go anywhere without a smile following. The school had the ability to make her that excited just walking aimlessly around the grounds.

Her own elation at being back at school made her lose track of the time and when she finally remembered that she had to meet Gideon down by the Courtyard she was already fifteen minutes late. Luckily for the redhead, she was wearing a pair of sneakers that day, so running was her best option. And that was exactly what she did. She ran as fast as she could so she would reach her destination in somewhat reasonable time.

Once she showed up she slowed down panting heavily near where Gideon was standing, "S-sorry I'm late. I was just wandering. Lost track of time." She leaned over and put her hands on her knees so she could get a quick breath. A large inhale later she stood up and said, "Hello."

He was waiting patiently for his girlfriend, not really paying attention to the passing of time, the nice weather distracting him fairly well. However as more time passed, he couldn't help but glance at his watch. Had he gotten the time wrong? The day? Maybe something had happened to delay Selina. And sure enough, when he heard running footsteps, he looked to see her heading towards him. The words she managed to get out before catching her breath expressing her reasons for being late.

Somehow he couldn't be upset with, especially when she bent offer trying to recover from her obviously strenious race to be here. "Hello," he echoed, returning her greeting. "Its alright...it happens," he added with a soft smile to show no harm done.

When he smiled at her she let out an exhale mixed with a small laugh. She was slightly surprised she was so out of breath; Selina was more than just really in shape. Her athletic nature made it so that she could handle a lot of strenuous outings, but she had run from the other side of campus all the way to their meeting spot in less than four minutes. It was a tough little run- one that she was not planning on EVER doing again.

Then, once her breath seemed to even out, she remembered why she had even asked Gideon to meet her out here. It was not just because the weather was beautiful, although the sunny, warm weather was a plus in the situation. Without looking angry she crossed her arms and said, "Mr. Gert, do you know why you're here?" She realized that crossing her arms might have come off as menacing, so she uncrossed them and put them to her sides, "When did you get prefected?" She was thrilled for him, if anyone deserved the title it was him, but she was just slightly confused as to when he had gotten the badge. They had only spent one day together all summer, which she would rather not get into, but he had not had it then. So when did he find out?

Since Selina had called this get-together, Gideon waited for her to speak "I have some possible inkling," he answered, watching as she folded her arms across and raising an eyebrow. Then she uncrossed them again making her appear nervous which made him wonder whole-heartedly. Thankfully he didn't have to wonder too long as Selina questioned him once more, this time about his badge which sent a lightbulb off in his head. This meeting was to be a continuation of the scene in the train compartment now that she had gotten over her overall surprise at the situation.

"Same as I said on the train," he remarked, "About 2-3 weeks." The boy thinking back in his memory all the same to make sure he was on the right track, giving one quick nod as it was confirmed in his mind's eye. "Came after the exam grades for certain which came at the beginning of August." That day Gideon remembered more clearly since he had been awaiting the owl anxiously to the teasing of Kacie.

Two to three weeks. His answer seemed to set off a bell in the back of her mind, a recollection that perhaps he had said something to that affect on the train. She could not be certain for sure if he had said it though, mostly because she was so shocked by the news of his prefectship. It was not that he did not deserve it, because she could not think of a better candidate, she was just shocked by the whole news at once. This year the train was one of the busier things she had ever taken part of. It was as if every time she turned her head something else was going wrong. Crazy did not even begin to cover what had transpired.

Then he said something that made Selina perk up a little. Exams! Merlin, she had completely forgotten that he had taken his exams last year. All of things that had been going on all summer, exams were the last thought in her head. Pushing aside the badge problem for a moment she looked anxiously at him and said, "Well what did you get? I know that you worked really hard on them last term? Did you pass them all?" She could not imagine that he had not.

Brooke walked along the corridor to the courtyard, running her index finger along the brick wall. She was so happy to be back at Hoggiewarts, this place was like a second home. Or in a way, a first home seen as for now she spent more time here than she did at home. But nonetheless she loved it, everyone was so nice here. EEK. She hadnt come across one mean person at all, sure she needed help with lessons; not the brightest bulb was Brooke but she still liked it.

This was the best school ever. heh. Yay.

The Blonde stopped looking around unsure of what to do, she didn't even know if she wanted to go out to the Courtyard, she'd spent so much time outside and now she wasnt sure if she wanted to be inside or outside. Gah, life was so confusing.

Gideon straighted up from his place against the pillar as if growing bored with the position and needing something new. Selina seemed to be mulling over what he said, the girl remain quiet for a few moments as he watched and waited once more.Then she finally seemed to react but it wasn't to what he thought it was to, the fifth year turning her attention to his mention of his exams.

"Aye...I did," he answered with a chuckle as Selina was almost as anxious now as he was when he worked on opening the letter to look. "Well the six exams that I had actually taken." The six classes he either favored, did well in most of the time or figured he might he might want to continue with, especially in the case with Divination alongside Selina. "Aced everything but Transfiguration," Gideon added doing his best not to appear completely sheepish despite the fact he didn't like to gloat. He simply figured she was probably gonna ask at some point anyway, might as well cut to the chase.

As Gideon listed how he did during his exams Selina listened intently. The more he talked the more she smiled. Last year, everyone was so worried about how they were going to perform on their exams, but Selina knew that Gideon never had to worry. Especially because Gideon was very dedicated to his studies. If he knew he was not good at a subject he would work and study until he was proficient at the skill. His work ethic was something that she really admired about him.

Then he said he aced everything with the exception of transfiguration, which oddly was the only subject Kurumi did not get an O in, she could have laughed at his sheepish nature. There was nothing to be sheepish about. He was smart, it was something that he should be proud of, not ashamed. It was a gift of his and a part of him. At his shy nature Selina, for a moment, saw a flash of the boy she first crashed into on the platform. The sentiment made her smile.

Without even thinking twice about it, she leaned up on her toes and gave him a quick kiss, "I'm proud of you."

Damon sighed leaning out over the railing looking down, he was so confused. He didn't know what he was going to do. He was dating Minnie, yeah it was great, he was happy... but then the thing happened with Taylor. Both agreed they CANNOT be as close anymore... He'd miss their friendship, well he couldn't be surprised. He screwed up.

Maxwell saw Damon leaning against a railing. He walked over. "Hey, Damon again I really am sorry. What's going on with you and Taylor, You're both acting like maniacs..."

Damon looked at Maxwell and shrugged, "It's no big deal." He sighed, of course he had to bring her up, "I don't even really know, she just made it clear that she wants nothing to do with me now. I knew something like this was going to happen."

Maxwell nodded a little. "Well, i just wanted you to know her acting this way has nothing to do with me...at least i don't think it does. I didn't ask her to."

"I didn't figure you did. I mean, she started this actually when I told her that Min and I were dating." He shrugged, "Figured she'd be happy, she was always saying I should date Minnie and now that I am... She's angry as all get out. I've always liked Min, it's not like I'm just dating her to try to show Taylor anything." He sighed, once again not knowing why it seemed like he'd had something that made him spill his guts out to Maxwell. He didn't want to.

A shadow of his former shy self might be there for others to see but Gideon wasn't fully aware of it. First the smile, and then Selina was moving upwards. He knew what she was up to and smiled himself letting her do what she indeeded, moving down a little so meet her as she leaned up on her toes.

Hmm...that might just be a better reward then the grade report. Scratch that...it WAS better.

His ears were probably flushed just a little as she said she was proud of him, Gideon trying to push bast the earlier sheepishness. "Thanks Selina...it means a lot," he admitted. He wouldn't want to be a bad boyfriend and bad influence to her after all. "And seeing as I managed to pass the Divination Exam, it means I get to stay on there to," the prefect added matter-of-factly. The boy completely forgetting that his companion knew nothing on his plan for that class subject in particular.

Maxwell thought. "Maybe she thinks you are." He said with a shrug. "I mean you moved on really quickly and don't get me wrong i know that's not what happened, Min told me you went into it with the mind-set you were being rejected and so you prepared yourself, but Maybe Taylor doesn't know that." He didn't know why he was talking to Damon about this, or why he was trying to help him, but he was.

"Right, because I knew that she wouldn't leave you for someone like me." He said with a rather dry laugh, "Which reminds me, and I don't mean this in a bad way, because believe me, I'm sick of arguing, but I thought for sure you'd be rubbing salt into the wounds with that one." He shrugged.

"Yes, because everything girls do makes sense." He said sarcastically and to the second part. "Damon, I'm a Lion not a Snake."

He smiled at him, being friendly, not rude, "Could've fooled me at times. Then again I'm sure I don't really seem like a goody-goody puff all the time either." He chuckled.

Maxwell laughed a little. "I don't think i'm cunning enough to pass for a Snake." He said laughing a little more.

Damon shook his head, chuckling, "Not all snakes are cunning... Just look at Max." He smirked, "He's not exactly what I'd call cunning. Then again he was supposidly extremely mean until he and Lor started dating." He shrugged, "So you never know. Maybe the sorting hat was on the fritz like I'm fairly certain it was when it put me into Hufflepuff."

Maxwell laughed. "True, although i think it knew what it was doing with me...It didn't even touch my head before saying 'Gryffindor'." He said with a smile thinking of how simple first year had been.

"It didn't really know what to do with me... Then again it might've done it just to punish me... Puck wasn't well liked while he was here by the staff when he was here, and he was a Gryffindor... As was my uncle and Rowan.... I'm the only one in my family to not be one actually." He shook his head.

Maxwell nodded. "My dad wasn't liked by the staff here either, He said in fourth year he TP'd the Headmaster's office." He said with a small laugh. "He was nearly expelled."
