Upon entering the office, after being invited in by the professor, the first thing you notice are two plush chairs just asking to be sat in. Beyond those is a large dark wooden desk, and a slightly bigger chair for Isabelle herself. The desk is covered in various bits of parchment and photo frames - which, if you get at the right angle, you can see contain pictures of her with her husband and other family members. A brand new addition is an extra large frame containing a picture of Isabelle's daughter Scarlet at one month old.
Along the back wall is a medium sized bookcase/display cabinet, not completely filled, although there are a fair few things on there, like extra stationary and odds and ends. Several ornaments are on display along the top shelf, all gifts from her family, and safely out the way of prying hands and leaping cats.
Yes - cats. Or one cat to be exact. Most likely to be found sat on the end of Isabelle's desk, or curled up on the bed below, is Angel, all pure white and fluffy tailed. She likes having her ears scratched - so if she purrs at you, go right ahead.
OOC: Please don't post inside the office until you have been invited in by Isabelle. The Corridor Outside is the place to wait. Just have your character knock on her door there, and when she is ready for you, I will quote you and ask you to come in. Thanks.

Alyssa quickly entered the room when Professor Magnus allowed her in. She looked around and still loved the way her office had been decorated. She then noticed a beautiful cat sitting on the desk, flicking it's tail and as Alyssa approached it, the cat began to purr. Alyssa reached out and scratched it's ears before realizing belatedly that she had not asked permission to do so.
"Good morning Professor. I am so sorry for bothering you so early in the morning and I also apologize for touching your cat without your permission. She's absolutely beautiful."Alyssa smiled before she realized that she was wasting the Professor's time. So she quickly gave her reason for being there in her office.
"Anyway, Um....Professor. I was wondering whether I could speak with you about what Animagi are. I don't really know much about it, except for the fact that one of my ancestors was one. The reason I'm here is I would like to train to become one, and I was hoping that you would be able to teach me. I will work really hard and won't disappoint you, if you agree to become my teacher."Alyssa promised Professor Magnus.

Reason: Change wordings.

Ahhh, it was an eager young beaver....badger.
Isabelle smiled as Alyssa entered and went straight towards Angel. That cat certainly seemed to draw admirers, probably because as the Hufflepuff had said - she was beautiful. With a good nature. "She is," Issy laughed, scratching the cat behind the ear herself. "And she knows it." Angel gave a swish of her tail and a rather haughty look in the direction of her owner, prompting another grin from Issy. "Don't worry about asking permission, either. She'll let you know if she's not in the mood to be petted. But please, take a seat."
An Animagus? So early in the term as well. Clearing her throat, Isabelle slid into her seat and leant against the plush, comfy back. Folding her hands across her lap she smiled. "Well, Miss Potter, an Animagus is a witch or wizard with the ability to turn themselves into an animal. Once experienced they can do so without the aid of a wand. So your ancestor must have worked very hard to hone that ability."
As for training her. "I would be willing to help you, if you wish. However I only take students in fifth year and above for lessons. You're a fourth year, I believe? Right now my best advice is to read up on the subject in the library, and we can see about learning next term. How does that sound to you?" Isabelle sat herself up, waiting expectantly for an answer.

Alyssa was disappointed that she would not be able to start training until the next term, but she knew that the Professor was right. "Yes I would be more than willing to read up more on the subject and hopefully I'll know more about it when I come back next term. I hope by then you will think that I am ready to start training with you. Would you by any chance have any suggestions on which books I should read up on? "Alyssa respectfully asked the Professor.

Isabelle could tell that Alyssa was slightly disappointed. She could read it on her face. But the truth of the matter was, the training was hard, and the last thing she wanted was for a student to really injure themselves. She gave the girl a sympathetic look as she thought of an answer to her question.
"Well, there is 'Animagus: A-Z' and 'Transformation Explained' - which tells you the sort of thing your body is likely to go through. It's not pretty, I must say. And I should warn you....even with all the training I can give you, there is a chance you won't master the skill." After all, Issy hadn't been able to. And she'd tried exceptionally hard when she was younger, what with her interest in Transfiguration.

Alyssa quickly pulled out her journal and wrote down the titles of the books. "Thank you for your advice, Professor and taking the time to speak with me. I will definitely check out these books, once I get down to the library, and since I have a whole year before I come speak with you again, I'll have plenty of time, to ask my family whether they know of anyone else in our family who is an Animagus and what their experiences were like. I know that I'm still young and my chances are pretty slim that I master the skill but I'm hoping that under your guidance, I will be successful sooner or later, at least hopefully before I leave Hogwarts.
Anyway, I know that I've taken up enough of your time. Thank you again for talking with you and I look forward to attending your classes this year again."

Alyssa practically spoke her next words without stopping for breath, and Isabelle just sat and nodded to her, listening. Ask her family, yes, that sounded like a good idea. "If you do want to speak to me again this term, though, feel free. My door is always open." So to speak. Getting up from her seat, Issy walked around to the front and leant against her desk.
"You're welcome, and those books should help you. I look forward to seeing you in class."
Those pauses are Lyssie's way of breathing. Em's suggestion xD

Alyssa realized that she had already taken up too much of the Professor's time. She stood up. "Thank you again, Professor. " "I will head off now to the library to look for those books."
"And I definitely will be looking forward to attending your classes."Alyssa was determined to be more attentive during Professor Magnus' class.
Once he got the permission to enter, Joăo entered, trying not to look around curiously. It was pretty rude to look around, after all. Instead, he focused on the woman and smiled politely.
"Hello professor." He didn't need to tell why he was there, did he? She certainly remembered him and figured why he was there?

Ahhh, her young pupil. Well, one of them anyway. The one she was giving private lessons to. Issy gave him a smile as polite as the one he gave her, and gestured to the seat the other side of her desk. "Mister Neves, good to see you. Please do sit down. I assume you're here to discuss the next stage of your Animagus training?" Like actually trying the process for real. Although she was hoping he was ready for that. No matter how many times you changed your body parts into that of an animal, the whole body process was something else entirely.

Good thing she remembered him. Joăo sat down to where she'd indicated and nodded eagerly. "Yes professor. I've worked on my own a little in the summer too," he said to confirm it by voice as well and... waited.

On his own? Well that was certainly...risky. "I do hope you didn't try anything too difficult, there is a lot that can go wrong when you try a transformation," Isabelle chided him gently. The last she wanted was for him to get hurt. But it was good that he had done something, rather than just wait for term to begin.
"Have you discovered yet what your form will take, while doing your practice? Only I thought maybe for our next lesson we could go out on the grounds for you to have a go."
Seeing as she was just passing her door, inside her office, when the knock occurred, it didn't take Isabelle long to answer it. Good job she was close as well, the knock wasn't all that loud.
Opening the door, she grinned at the person sat in the chair opposite. A Hufflepuff, how nice. "Do come in."
He'd only just really sat when the door was opened, but Dale had actually warmed considerably. The young Hufflepuff supposed it was mainly because he'd moved a lot and then suddenly stopped. But anyway, now he was warm and being invited in.
Swift service, very nice. Hehe.
Dale stood up and smiled back; this lady seemed nice. Indeed.
So Dale got up and headed on in, taken aback slightly by the office. He didn't know why he always expected teachers' offices to be like on muggle TV, but he did... and now he just stood looking.
"Niiiiiice."

Oh. Just when he was expecting an approval or a pat in the back even, he was chided. She was probably right though. He didn't do anything without taking precaution, of course, but she was still right. Better to win that approval by reassuring her, then.
"No professor, I just went over what we did last year." Nothing to difficult? He was still intact.
"Well, I think I will be a fox like my patronus." His voice was even, but he just couldn't stop the smile. Yes, he was SMILING like mandman because he was EXCITED to give it a go. After all those lessons--all the effort--he was becoming a full animagus! Who wouldn't smile like a madman?

Isabelle had left the door open after calling the boy in, and started walking over to her desk - with the occasional look around to see if he was coming in.
And he did. But not very far.
Sitting down in her seat, Issy shook her head in amusement and smiled at the boy. She was used to her office, she supposed, so saw nothing unusual in it. Apparently he did.
"Can I help you?" she asked, hoping to jolt him back into the room.

Oh, good. So he didn't do anything he didn't already know how to do. At least that was something. And he was intact, with all limbs in place, so there was that as well.
"Well, considering the weather isn't very warm at the moment, we could put the next stage back a bit? Unless, of course, you don't mind trying it in the wind and snow." A fox might like that. Issy would need to get her winter cloak out though.

Not warm? Joăo would have laughed to himself, if it wasn't rude. Instead, he calmly shook his head. "I don't mind it at all, professor," he said, unable to hide his excitement. Because he had practised warming charms that were effective for about two hours.

So? Could they get out like NOW?
Oh, he didn't mind? Well then winter cloak it was. That was in the cupboard, right? Isabelle narrowed her eyes as she tried to walk through where she'd been last time she'd taken it off.
But yes anyway.
"In that case, I have a spare hour now. Would you like to give it a go out in a quiet corner of the grounds?"

Joăo followed the professor with his eyes and made a mental YES! when she went to the cupboard to get her clothing. But--in that case--he had to put on the charms and wear his only remaining coat too--
"Yes, professor." If he was a little boy, he would have jumped to the neck of her. But no. He merely smiled as widely as his mouth would go. "The edge of the Forbidden Forest is always quiet." Though if she had other plans, he was fine with any.
since, you know, IC we have class like once a week or something XD

Closing the practice room behind her, Issy walked down the corridor and grinned at the prefect. "Hello, Miss Hollingberry. Good to see you up and about. Do come in." Unlocking the door, she pushed it open for the young Gryffindor to enter.
Up and about. Right. Because she had been frozen and had no recollection of that. Sigh.
It was a reminder as to why she had come here in the first place though, so for that she was moderately grateful. Bowing her head as she followed Professor Magnus into her office, Kurumi stood by one of the chairs, waiting to be told it was alright for her to sit down. Although, this really wasn't going to be too long of a conversation so she could probably stand through it just fine.
"Thank you for seeing me, professor," she said politely, tucking a strand of her long dark hair behind her ear. "I'm...I'm really sorry about not attending your lessons over the past month..."

Hmmm. Joao did not appear to have his cloak with him. Perhaps she should give him enough time to go and fetch it first. He'd probably go at the speed of light, if his broad smile and eagerness was anything to go by.
"As long as you don't attempt to venture in, IF you make it to animal form, then that's fine. How about you go and get some warmer clothes, and I'll meet you there?" Isabelle smiled as she slung her own cloak over her shoulders and did up the clasp.
OOC: Did you want to post first, or shall I?

Isabelle had followed the girl in her office, closing the door shut behind her. Many ideas were running through her head as to why the prefect had come to see her - usually it was important when the two of them spoke outside of class. Maybe it was something to do with the visit to the hospital wing the girl had endured. As she sat down, thinking about all that, Issy noticed that Kurumi had yet to take a seat. Motioning for her to do so, she smiled and waited for her to speak.
She wanted to apologise?
"Kurumi, why are you apologising? What happened wasn't exactly your fault. There was nothing you could have done, as far as I'm aware, to prevent it. You were hardly in a condition to come to class - I understood that. You have no reason to apologise to me..." Isabelle was just glad that the Gryffindor looked better. And that all the kids, and teachers, seemed to be back to normal.

Venture in? In supervision of a professor? No thanks, he wasn't crazy about deduction of a million points plus life-long detention.
"Thanks, professor. I'll be there in ten minutes maximum." He knew he could actually manage that. If the corridors were empty. Even if they weren't. Who cared if he hit a first year and knocked him off? Certainly not him. And the professor wouldn't even know.
Without waiting for another reply, he walked calmly until the door, and the moment he stepped out, he FLEW, his footsteps lost in only a matter of seconds.
OOC: The last post there is already mine, so I can't post there until you do.

Ten minutes. Hopefully she'd be there by then. But her legs were not nearly as youthful as the Slytherin's. Still, she'd be there, even if he did get a head start.
"See you there!" Issy called out as he left, no doubt running as fast as he could down the corridor. Shaking her head, amused, she followed close behind. Making sure everything was in it's place, she checked her wand was with her, and took the door key out of her pocket. Locking the door behind her, Isabelle set off for the staircase.

Sitting down when the offer was made, Kurumi crossed one leg under the other and sat up nice and straight in her seat. Kurumi bit down on her lower lip for a moment, eyes looking at the top of Professor Magnus' desk at nothing in particular. She knew that there wasn't a legitimate reason, at least not a reason that others would understand, but Kurumi just felt the need to say it.
"That's...is sort of the reason I came to speak with you," Kurumi said sheepishly, already suspecting where the conversation would probably lead. "I was wondering if there was any way that I could make up the work I missed." Professor Bentley and Professor Cerulean had already given her extra work and Professor Lafay had made a few extensions and, well, Kurumi really hated that she had missed Transfiguration work.

"Hmm?" Isabelle had a slight questioning nature to the noise. She sat up straighter in her seat as Kurumi started to say the reason she'd come. Issy was keen to hear what the prefect had to say. Or ask, as it appeared to be. Narrowing her eyes, she glanced down at her desk momentarily, trying to think of something that Kurumi could help her with. She did know the Gryffindor did not like missing out on things. And if she wanted to try and make the points up, then that was wonderful.
"You could always do some supervised practice of the spell from the most recent class, a lesson style setting as it were. If you wanted. And there is homework to do after that." Isabelle wasn't entirely sure if Kurumi meant that kind of thing. Or whether she wanted to be helpful in a different way, to gain some points. Hmmm. "And I might need some help to set up some things for the next lesson, down by the lake. You're more than welcome to give me a hand. I'll leave the choice up to you."

Kurumi sort of squirmed uncomfortably in her seat for a moment for whatever reason. Kurumi wasn't even entirely sure why she was so uncomfortable with the entire request. It was just a simple request for extra work or, as Professor Magnus had just offered, supervised practices. Nothing out of the ordinary for a student to ask of a professor if they needed extra tutoring.
Or was that it? Asking for tutoring of some sort...for the first time...of a professor?
That could be.
When she was given a choice, Kurumi temporarily pouted. Could she pick both? "Selina offered to help me with the homework...it wouldn't be the same as being under your guidance, but she can help me with the spell."
