Selena was going to hum and skip into the library the way she usually did any other room except when class was in session. But apparently this was a library so she couldn't. Selena just settled for skipping quietly, which was alright since she still carried Kent on her head. The purple pygmy puff still didn't seem like he liked the ride he was getting though. Selena just thought it was better than the pygmy puff eating snot.

"Heeelllooo~" Selena greeted, smiling at the new librarian. They didn't have one last year, did they? "Welcome to Hogwarts sir," Selena started. Because that was nice right? She didn't think too many people said that. Maybe he even wanted to hold her Pygmy Puff.

Now... what was she here for again?

Leobald was sitting at the front desk logging a new shipment of books when a brunette entered through the library door with a purple pygmy puff on her head. Weird placing of the pet he thought to himself as the girl came over. Beaming brightly at her he responded "Hello! Thank you dear, it’s good to be back at the castle again."

He briefly looked up at the pygmy puff before focusing on his owner. "Now what brings you here, a book perhaps or a quiet place to do some studying?" The girl looked old enough to be 5th year older so it was a valid guess.

When he had found out that the library finally had a librarian again, Daichi HAD to pay a visit. He had already thought about borrowing a certain book from this place last year but there had been no librarian at the time and the Slytherin did not have the patience to check every book!

He knew he could ask Kurumi about this subject because the Gryffindor had told him about it a bit but he didn't want to look like a fool so thats why he was here! To learn more about his favorite animal himself.

Reaching the front desk , he had his plushed duck Mr.Duckles in his bag as the head popped out of the opening. Being separated for a year with his hero had been horrible to the Snake and he was spending the lost time with it now~ "Haai Pygmy Girl" he greeted the Slytherin Head Girl with a grin before his attention went to the man behind the desk.

"Oh! hi sir!" he smiled and bowed his head for a second, his black nerdy glasses slided down his nose as he did so.

Zhenya was happy to be back in the Library but she also wanted to get straight to the point. She had no idea what was happening to her, and she wanted answers.

Walking up to the desk, she was looking down at her hands. When she looked up and heard the Librarian greet her, she went red. It was HIM! The Chocolate Frog guy sitting on the bench. Should she run away? No, that was immature, and she was now a mature 13 year old. "Hi, I um... I'm Zhenya, how are you? I was just...er... well, I have... you see I think I'm in love," she said, turning even more red. "Um and I wanted to see if there was a book on er... how to know if you're... in... love or um sick," she asked. She was more whispering so that nobody else would hear. If anyone found out she was in love, she would die! But she wasn't ruling out a heart tumor. Maybe that was causing this weird feeling? Or maybe her blood was infected with something.. maybe someone had slipped her a love potion... she just wanted to know.

Selena rocked back and forth in her shoes as she smiled at the professor. "Oh, you went to Hogwarts? That's cool. Were you in Slytherin?" Selena asked, excitedly. Because Slytherin was obviously the cooler house. Obviously. Plus, he seemed nice, therefore, he had to be a Slytherin. Or adults just learned how to deal with kids when they grew up. Which was just ridiculous and not true.

"I was bored," Selena said shrugging her shoulders. "I also wanted to know the name of all the fruits in the world. I'm going to give everyone fruit nicknames, you see," Selena added. "And maybe a book about pygmy puff training, I wanna teach Kent not to eat snot."

Selena stopped talking for a second to look at the person who walked in. "Haiii Duck Boy!" Selena greeted, making sure she didn't raise her voice. She had a smile on her face when she greeted the younger Slytherin and it had taken a lot to make sure she didn't exclaim it or shout it or yell out the greeting. Which she really wanted to do.

There was a library?! Cool! She skipped slowly to the front desk on the room. What did she need again? She forgot. Was is something about candy and sweets and work. She just didn't remember but she just went for her favourite subject and hopefully they would have it somewhere. Hopefully they did they probably didn't though.

She spotted the librarian she heard he was knew like her so why not be nice? That seemed like a nice plan and a good start to the conversation. The librarian looked like a nice person not like some other scary professors so hopefully he wouldn't turn the opposite of what she though of him. There were some people there too; The Head Girl, A boy with a...duck! and that girl who was having a splendid conversation with Rush guy.

She approached the man asking him a few questions. "Hello sir! How are you? Do you have any books on Herbology and candy making?" she asked. Candy making was the main reason she was here. By the end of term she wanted to make candy.

The door to the library open and shut once more but this time it was a boy who zeroed in on the front desk not a girl, a boy with black glasses and a bag slung over his shoulder where a stuffed duck seemed to be poking its head out of the opening. The boy seemed to know the girl since he greeted her first. Smiling brightly at the young boy he greeted him. "Welcome to the library! How can I help you Mister?"

The next girl to approach his desk was familiar. He vaguely remembered meeting her in Diagon Alley over the summer, hadn’t she been the one who had blatantly stared at him whilst licking on an ice cream cone? Shrugging he listened to her predicament. Furrowing his brows as he thought Leobald said "Hi Zhenya. I’m very good, thank you! I might have a book about love and how to know if you are in love somewhere. I doubt though that you are sick, you look healthy."

Pulling out his wand he accioed forth a book from the back. Giving the book to Zhenya he responded unsurely "I’m not sure if this love guide will help you. Professor Elmwood might be of better help, she can do a card reading for you to see if you are in love or not." This was awkward. Leo wasn't an expert on signs of love.

Nodding Leobald smiled "Yes I did. I was in Ravenclaw not Slytherin." The hat had considered placing him in Slytherin for a second of two before shouting out Ravenclaw. In hindsight though he doubted his Hogwarts career would have been different if he had been in Slytherin and not Ravenclaw.
At least the girl was honest he mused as she counted up the books she was looking for to borrow from the library.

Picking up his wand again Leo accioed and held them out to the Slytherin."Here you go; one encyclopaedia on all the known fruits in the world and one advanced guide on training your pygmy puff to not eat snot." The pygmy puff ate snot that was gross!

A new visitor!!

First came one student now there were 4 students presently standing in front of his desk asking for books left and right. This was fun! Musing to himself Mr Kitridge focused his attention on the new arrival another brunette. “Hello dear. I’m very good. How are you?” Furrowing his brows in thought he asked "Can you be more specific on what kind of herbology book you want? Should it be on a particular range of plants or something different?" Re-using his wand he fetched a book on candy making and held it out to the girl "Here, will this one do it’s called 'The cooks 101 best candy recipes from around the world.'?"

Selena nodded in reply as she listened to the older man talk. "But you wanted to be in Slytherin, right?" Selena asked. Because everyone wanted to be in Slytherin; Slytherin was the house of the cool people. She supposed Ravenclaw was a little cool but Slytherin was definitely the cooler house. She watched as the books whizzed over to the man and looked at it.

Encyclopaedia? That was a big book. Selena stared at the book. She wondered if they both had pretty pictures in it; Selena liked books with pretty pictures. They made a book infinitely less boring. "I'm Selena, by the way," Selena said, introducing herself, and still eying the books. She wondered if the books would weigh more than her... and if she could balance them on her head like she could balance Kent. "And can I take these books to my common room to read or do they have to stay here?" she added. Because she wasn't sure if Kent was alright with staying in a place with no snot.

Daichi giggled, yes he giggled hearing Selena saying his name. Nickname rather. The reason why he giggled was because the Head Girl was actually trying not to shout. It was a bit odd because all the times he had seen Pygmy Girl she had waved and shouted like a lunatic but now she was actually ...less shouty. This also gave him a whole different impression on her. This was a library after all and supposed to be a quiet place. Hearing Selena's softer voice made him think that the girl, despite always being so hyper, had respect for the library by keeping her voice down.

Or it was her Head Girl duty to show the good example..mweh..

Just then, the man behind the desk spoke making Daichi turn his attention to him instead. "Oh , my name is Daichi , sir. Daichi Katharos" He never liked being called Mister. It made him sound so old! "And i was wondering if..if you have a book about ...uhm.." The Slytherin bit his lower lip. "Ducks~!"

The moment he said the word Ducks his eyes twinkled with a kind of spark that could only be identified with childness joy. "You see, i REALLY love ducks, they are my family!" his excitment grew even more when with each word he said his voice raised higher and louder. "But...i only know that they are cute and awesome LOOK!" He had taken off his school bag from his shoulders and zipped it open. Holding up his stuffed animal and shoved the plushy in the mans face while actually leaning forward by the desk. "This is Mr.Duckles..i also have a real duck at the pond named Floppy and the other ducks are MINE too" wait..why was he even saying this?

"Ehm.. what i wanted to say is that i want to know more about the animal instead of just loving them?" You know, like a book in which duck facts were stated. "I want to know EVERYTHING!"

"I'm good too. I might be on a sugar rush though." Oh she probably shouldn't have said that exact phrase but he asked 'How are you?' and that's how she was. She was waiting for the man to get the book and something that blew her away happened.

THEY ACTUALLY HAD A CANDY MAKING BOOK!!

She didn't actually think they would have it but they did! This librarian was awesome. He could think of every book and not hesitate! Take that librarians who couldn't do that. "I'm looking for more of a book that has everything to do with Herbology if you have it." She had never tooken Herbology and she didn't really know anything about it and she was taking her OWLs this year. "And yes that book is perfect can I take it up to my common room though to study?"

Zhenya was SO relived that she was holding a book, just on what she needed. She smiled up at him and said "Thank you! And... er... I'm sorry I stared at you at Diagon Alley, but... well.. I didn't mean to," she said, clearly embarrassed. The less she would have to say, the better. How could she say he was very handsome and she wanted to get a good look? No, best she keep the Library as a safe place, rather than an awkward place.

And OF COURSE! Professor Elmwood would be perfect for help. "Thank you for that suggestion, I can't believe I didn't think of it before! Well... I sure am glad she's a human," Zhenya said.

Shaking his head Leobald said "Actually no. I wouldn’t have wanted to be in Slytherin. Ravenclaw house fit me like a glove and nurtured my talents." If he had been in Slytherin he might still be a version of that boy from school that had avoided interaction as much as possible and not went for his dreams. Shudder. "Pleasure to meet you Selena; I’m Leobald Kitridge the resident librarian."

Watching her stare at the encyclopedia made him sort of amused. Wasn’t big book in fashion? Reading a novel over 700 pages was a piece of cake wasn’t it? But maybe that was just him? Worried he gestured towards the book. "Is the volume too big? I can find a fruit book with fewer pages if you want Selena?" Leo didn’t want to overwhelm the girl. It would be bad for library business.

"You can take the books to the common room. Just check them out at the counter and return them when you have read them." He pointed at the book checkout counter beside him before turned to the next person in line.

"Pleasure to meet you Daichi," Mr Kitridge said with a beam. First there was pygmy puff girl and now this boy with the black glasses was all into DUCKS! Trying to keep up with what the hyperactive boy was saying. He wanted a book about ducks that was easy enough to understand.

Thinking he asked "Do you want a book on duck care or a book that is more generic and his information on different species of ducks too?" And the boy’s plushie was called Mr. Duckles and he had his own duck at the pond? Eyes widening he asked astounded "You own one of the ducks in the duck pound out on the grounds?" How had the boy managed that? Maybe he had a good relationship with the groundskeeper? Regardless it was an odd pet to own. Just like a fwooper would be if he bought one.

Sugar rush? Eyeing the girl a little closer he had to admit she looked like she was truly energy zapped. The candy was probably doing it. "Be careful dear, sugar rushes tend to wear off unexpectedly." Leo would know since had learned that the hard way in his youth.

A book on everything Herbology, furrowing his browns in thought Leobald asked "I have a herbology encyclopedia which might be what you are looking for but it’s over 1000 pages long and heavy. Still interested? Or I can try and find you something more light weight?"

Nodding Mr Kitridge responded "You can loan most books here and take them with you just not those in the reference section. Just don’t forget to check the books out at the counter." He gestured towards the counter beside his.

"That’s all right dear. Apology accepted." Mr Kitridge assured the young girl. Staring at somebody you didn’t know happened, he had done it too several times. Perfect she was going to go seek out Professor Elmwood for her help. Books could only tell you so much about love and relationships anyways.

'I sure am glad she is human.' Reacting to the word Leobald raised a brow and asked curiously "Why did you use that phrase 'glad she is human', wasn’t the Divination professor before her a human too?" He hadn’t read up on the latest in Hogwarts a History so he was clueless to the fact that a centaur had been teaching at the school just recently.

"Nice to meet you too sir" Daichi said back and smiled even more. He had not expected that the new librarian would be so nice. ...Then again Daichi thought that everyone was nice... He trusts people far to easily.

"Both please!" The boy said as he wrapped both arms around his stuffed animal so that he was hugging it. "I want to know as much as possible!"

The look on the man's face...who's name he had not gotten, was priceless. Daichi laughed his high pitched laugh before remembering that this was a library and quickly held a hand in front of his mouth. "S-sorry"

"Easy!" Daichi said as he asked how he had managed to befriend a duck. "With a spell that we had learned in one of the seminar classes last year" Ah that had been a good lesson, atleast for him hehe. "I first tried to borrow" which was the same thing as stealing "a duck but Kurumi and Adam i think his name was Adam saw me and they went all like ...*why you take duck?!* So i 'm like, because i want to! and then Kurumi took me to Mr.Murdoch and he said nono"

Aaaaaand he was rambling again. His cheeks flushed a little red as he bowed his head in apology. "Sorry sir for rambling your ears off" OKAY say it simple Daichi. "I used a spell called Malin Calin that lets you befriend any living thing. People, animals...trees?.." he nodded his head. "It's only for a few hours but Floppy is my BEST FRIEND FOR LIFE!"

The librarian wasn't cool anymore. Nu-uh. Because he didn't want to be in Slytherin. He wasn't cool. At all. Selena just gave the dude a nod and a smile. Non-Slytherins got nods and smiles. Slytherins got cool fruit nicknames and happy smiles. The librarian didn't deserve one. Yup. "So do I call you Mister Leobald or Mister Kitridge?" Selena asked. Because she couldn't call him a Mister fruit name. He didn't get a fruit associated with him.

Selena also wasn't fond of the huge encyclopedia there. It was huge. And heavy. And using a levitating charm could only do so much. "Yes, sir, a shorter book would be nice," Selena said with a nod of her head. Because how was she supposed to carry that thing?! Were they even allowed to check encyclopedias out?

She peered around the no-fruit-nickname Librarian and saw the book checkout counter place. "Yessssss sir," Selena said with a nod of her head.

NUFFINK to see here. West just innocently headed past the front desk. Not that he was heading anywhere in particular. Not like he was going towards the restricted section. IT WAS A LIBRARY OKAY? PEOPLE CAME TO LIBRARIES ALL THE TIME! His backpack wasn't suspicious either. Neither was the distinct smell of greenery and wood. IT WAS JUST HIS MANLY ODOR, GOSH STOP BEING SO SUSPICIOUS!

He had it all planned out. He was gonna leave his message in an AWESOME location. He would be a HERO and could brag of his sneaky exploits once he got back to the common room. Or maybe outside of the common room too since even other houses would deserve to hear a bit about how cool-like he was. And you know, how nobody suspected a thing.

He disappeared around a corner. A corner that just so happened to be in the general direction of the place he was going.

DUN DUN DUN.

Now there she was, being in this familiar place, once again.

Tiffany usually went to the library for a walk or something when she got no lessons to attend or that she just wanted to take a little rest before getting back into the busy life in here. But for this time, it was kind of special.

Standing in front of the desk, she was like a child who got lost and was looking for help. She noticed a man sitting right in front of her. Guess, he would be the person in charge of this library? Hopefully. Tiffany stood still and greeted him politely,"Helloooooo!"And ended up with a big smile on her face.

Why did paperwork always pile up when you weren't looking? With a concentrated frown etched across his features the Librarian was sitting at the front desk trying to work through the load. Muttering could be heard occassionally from him as he moved to a new parchment. Leobald was about to slam his fist into the front desk counter in irritation when he heard a young girl's voice.

Suppressing the urge he fixed his facial features and plastered on a big smile as he met the girl's gaze. "Hey, there! Anything I can help you with?"

And then she guessed it correctly.

Tiffany was trying to make herself taller so that she could probably see the man clearing through those piles of paperwork on the desk. Surprisingly, it was a new librarian whom Tiffany had never met before. In fact not in her first or second year.

"Um...of course there is something,"she answered in a clear voice, sounding kind of glad."Actually I am here for that kind of pre-librarian thing?"she said, looking quite confused though. Oh Tiffany Pevensie, that was so silly of you. How could you not know that name? Actually she didn't really know what that was actually called but she assumed that this man would probably understand what she was talking about. She smiled, waiting for his response.

Did he sit too high up?

Leobald watched from his chair how the girl in front of him was trying her best to what he guessed was stand on her heels to be able to see what he was doing with all the piles of paper work on the front desk counter. Pushing the piles to the left and right as much as the counter allowed it, Leobald cleared a space in front of him so that he had a clear sight of the girl.

Pre-librarian thing? At first he didn’t make the connection but then a light bulb flashed in his head and he asked with beam "You mean the librarian technician opportunity where you can help out around the library to see if its a field you'd like to pursue after graduation?" Leobald had to check because the girl looked sort off confused.

It was much much better.

Tiffany stood still as the man started to push away all piles of work in front of her so as not to block both of their sight. Maybe it wasn't his problem but just that she was too short for this. Anyway now the Griffindor got a clearer sight of the man. She smiled for him clearing all the mess on the table. It had to be tidied by the way.

"Yea, that's what I mean,"she replied with her cheeks turned a bit pinkish. She was kind of embarrassed about her idea of pre-librarian. Who would actually call it as a pre-librarian thing, except for this silly girl, Tiffany. Well luckily this man got it right.

"Um...so do you need some help in here?"she asked. Scanning through the messy table of his, she added,"Maybe I can help you with that or anything else."She chuckled.

Sarah looked at her friend that was offering to help and she decided to offer to. Ou tof the goodness of her heart of course, not just because her friend was doing it, "Is there anything I can do to help in the Library" she asked the librarian

Beaming when she confirmed his hunch Leobald couldn't help but notice her eyeing the messy counter around him. Trying to not get embarrassed he scratched his head to come up with a good task for her to dig her hands into.

Glancing over at the big boxes of new books behind the counter he eyed her thoughtfully asking "What would you say to unpacking and labeling new books and also putting them in their rightful places on the shelves, miss?" Why hadn't he asked for her name yet? Kicking himself inwardly he eyed the mess on the counter. "I'll deal with this mess if you do the boxes." he motioned for her to come around and look at the boxes.

Leobald was going to take care of the mess that was his front desk when another lioness by the looks of things came up and offered him her help. "I gladly take any help i can get, miss? Anything you are opposed to doing? Some things might require heavy lifting." But she was a witch and practicing her wandwork was was always good.

Taylor approached the front desk slowly. She was a bit nervous since she havent even talked to the librarian before. Tay bit her lip and offered a smile, "Good day, sir..." Taylor had wanted to get some book recommendations since she had been flying through the books that her mother had sent her, now and then.

Waiting for the second lionesses answer Leobald turned his attention towards a Ravenclaw girl which had made her way up to the desk looking slightly nervous by the look of her body language. Fireing off a warm smile in her direction. "Good day, how may i help you?" Another one interested in giving him a hand in the library?
