The night time and herbology...two things that Gideon enjoyed. So when the notice went up for the next class to be held in the evening, the Gryffindor was curious and somewhat excited to see what was to be taught. He made his way down to the student garden ready for the class, the area showing all the proof of spring under the moonlight.

"Good evening Professor Bentley," he greeted with a smile, spotting the woman as he entered the area clearly denoted as the location for the lesson. "Nice night isn't it?" he randomly asked debating if he wanted something from the offered beverages. The 5th year finally dropping his school bag by a beanbag to claim it and heading to the pots to pour himself a mug of tea. When he was done, he returned to the bag and sat down, his gaze caught between bushes and the night sky

Sophie was excited for this class. She had been wondering what is was going to be about since she heard it was happening at night. She walked down to the Student Garden and smiled. She had had a great time in there with her Pygmy Puff. And wow, did the moon look beautiful!

Spotting Professor Bentley, Sophie smiled and waved at her. "Hello, Professor Bentley!" She helped herself with some hot chocolate and sat down on one of the fluffy thingies. Those were really cool! "The garden looks lovely, professor!" And the moon was making it all prettier!

Jory was curious about this class. After all, Professor Bentley set it for the night. He shivered as he made his way to the Student Garden.It was cold but he couldn't help enjoying the breeze.

"Good night, Professor Bentley,'' he said as he reached the spot where bean bags were set up. Jory went to get himself a cup of hot chocolate before making himself comfortable on one of the black bean bags.

Was this...going to be a surprise joint lesson with Astronomy? It was nighttime again and, well, the moon WAS out. More moon planting? That had been a rather complicated process that really didn't seem to produce any noticeably different results from regular planting, so Kurumi was sort of disenchanted with the art - no pun intended possiby. Still, Kurumi was pleased by the change of scene with the class being held in the student garden and her eyes drifted to the cherry tree she had planted in her first year.

"Evening, Professor Bentley," Kurumi said, placing her usual surgical mask over her face after greeting the professor. "Did you have the chance to give that rune a try?" Not that she really expected it to actually really do anything.

Oh? Refreshments? Kurumi didn't usually go for such things as she felt that eating and drinking during a lesson really was distracting, but seeing how cold it was she decided to make an exception and poured herself a mug of tea before finding herself a seat.

Alyssa entered the Student Gardens. It was still a little chilly, so she had worn warm clothing for tonight's class. She saw Professor Bentley standing next to a table which held 3 steaming pots. She walked up to the Professor. "Good evening, Professor. It is a nice night out isn't it, even though it still is a little chilly. O_o Hot Chocolate. Thank you Professor for making it."Alyssa told the Professor before grabbing a mug and filling it with Hot Chocolate. She then looked around before making her way to one of the bean bags and plopping herself on it.

Janice walked into the classroom, feeling a bit confused. Usually, Herbology lessons are in the mornings, not that she’s complaining.

“Hello, professor!” she greeted Bentley while passing by, her eyes sweeping the room for the said refreshments. Once she spotted it, she took a cup of tea and some cookies, and walked towards Alyssa.

“Hey,” she said quietly.

Zhenya had tied her long dark hair into a braid that laid nicely over her shoulder. She had her extra warm woolen tights on, with her school dress and a nice thick cloak. Entering the greenhouse she stopped and didn't even try to fight the HUGE smile that was travelling fast over her face as she saw Professor Bentley, Fluffy Beanbags AND three pots of hot drinks! She skipped up to Professor Bentley and said "Hi Professor! Oh wow, I'm so excited you're doing a night lesson, I love them so much, and wow Hot Chocolate! You're the greatest," and poured herself a mug of Hot Chocolate.

Hair in the braid she had made a habit of making before every Herbology lesson, Stella pulled her coat a bit closer around her as she made her way down to the Student Garden for the next lesson. It was also one of the first she remembered going to that happened after dark, and she found herself glancing over toward the forest as she thought she saw a shadow move. It was only the moonlight, though, making things seem a bit strange as far as she could tell. She didn't see any creatures, at least, so she continued on her way. She felt better once she got to the Garden, too, seeing as there were other students already there and settling into fuzzy beanbags.

People made things just seem that much safer, and, upon another look around, she saw Professor Bentley near a table of refreshments. "Bon soir, Professor Bentley," she said with a smile, making her way over and pouring herself a cup of coffee, adding just a tiny bit of hot chocolate to the cup as well for what she hoped might pass for a mocha. She couldn't help but greet the professor in French, after previous habits, even though she'd gotten a lot better at not slipping. And, once she got her drink, she headed for an open beanbag and sat down, snuggling in with both hands wrapped around her mug as she glanced at the bushes in front of them.

Daichi did not remember having had a lesson in herbology in the night before. Unless he counted the joint lesson from his second year. He held a hand in front of his mouth as a yawn escaped while walking over the path to the student garden. At day time the weather had a nice temperature but the night sky was still a bit chilly so the Slytherin was thankful he had taken his scarf with him just in case. It wasn't wrapped around his neck though but hung loosely over his shoulders.

Arriving at the garden, the first thing Daichi saw besides the students were the comfortable looking chairs. Looking a little bit further his half sleepy gaze saw the table. "h-h-hello Professor Bentley" he greeted the woman with a loud yawn and rubbed his right eye as it became watery. Picking up on of the pots and saw it had coffee in it. Making a disgusted face he picked up another one and he smiled widely like a little kid getting his or her first toy when he smelled the sweet aroma of chocolate. Pouring himself a cup, the third year blew the liquid to get it colder faster and drank from it. Taking another cup, he poured it in as well as the third cup and now with 3 cups of hot chocolate in his hands he made his way over to the closest chair and sat down, drinking the hot chocolate and he would.be back for more if he had time again~

Seeing as the students had arrived, and the night wasn't getting any younger, it was about time to kick start the lesson. After pouring herself a tea, Seren wandered over to one of the bean bags and placed her cup of the grass beside it for the time being, then approached the two bushes and turned to face the students.

"Good night everyone! and thank you all for coming out at such a late hour... I assure you it will be worth it." Or at least in her mind it would be worth it.

"Now, tonight we will be paying particular attention to these two bushes, can anybody tell me what they are?" Seren stood to the side and indicated the the pair. They were almost identical, only with two differences. The bushes were approximate two feet in height, with waxy and with dentate leaves that were no longer than the average index finger. Only one of them was a lush evergreen whereas the other was olive. The evergreen bush also had little silver cresents growing along it's bushy stems. The olive bush had what looked like little bubbles filled with minuscule stars.
"I only want the name... no details if you know them."

Zhenya was very puzzled indeed, but she raised her hand to give it a wild guess, "Hmm Professor I think... could that one there be Yew? Or Holly? And... that one there... I really don't know," she said, trying to rack her brain for a possible answer. Nothing!

She took a huge gulp of her hot chocolate. Maybe she just didn't have enough chocolate in her blood yet. That must be it. Chocolate made her smart.

Kurumi sipped on her tea and eyes the two bushes. If her little one-on-one session had been any indication as to what was happening this lesson...well...the Gryffindor wasn't feeling nearly as Gryffindor about the subject as she probably should. She leaned forward a bit, taking slow sips and blowing on the liquid every now and again to cool it down. Her eyes first feel on the olive colored tree, erm, bush, erm, shrub. However, the first olive colored tree that popped into her mind was far from what was in front of her. Were those...little stars? Could they pick those bubbles and take the stars back to the dorms with them?

After a few moments, Kurumi raised her hand. She thought that she recognized them from the description of a plant she had come across in her studying for her OWLs and, well, given the time of the lesson it all seemed to fit. "Professor, are both of those Norandola plants?" If so, Professor Bentley was being very very tricky.

Amelia shivered a little as she sipped her tea. She still was not really sure why they were out here for their lesson in the evening. This wasn't Astronomy or anything. :/ Maybe they were studying a nocturnal plant.

She turned her attention to the bushes that Professor Bentley was now wanting them to identify. "Are those Norandola?" she asked after raising her hand.

Daichi smiled at the Professor from where he was seated when she spoke to him and took a sip of his hot chocolate when class begun. His half sleepy eyes looked at the two bushes but honestly, he had no idea what the answer to the question was.

So he waited for the other students to answer the question and when he heard Kurumi saying Norandola he looked at her with a surprised expression before looking back at the bush. Mweh, he'd never heard of that name before. Drinking from his chocolate, the Slytherin placed the empty cup beside him on the ground before picking up the second one.

Ella eyed the two bushes curiously while she sipped on her hot chocolate. Class under the moonlight? Only at Hogwarts...She shivered a little as she listened to the other students give their answers. She had heard of norandola in her reading but what had she read about them...she remembered that they were said to grow in the moonlight. "I also think they are norandola." Ella said with a nod, happy she had been studying a lot lately.

Alyssa looked at the plants. They sure looked like Olives but at the same time there was something different about them. Then she heard Kurumi and Daichi give their answers. Since she didn't know what they were, she quickly wrote down the answer in her journal before looking up to see whether the Professor confirmed that they were correct or not.

Yeah, she didn't know it either. Janice took in the shape, color and other physical features of the plant, but still had no idea about the thing. Decided that it wouldn't be too hard to just shoot a guess, he's raised her hand to answer.

"Professor," she started, "are those pomegranate?" Which is NOT possible since she knows that pomegranate plants don't look like that.

Gwen had absolutely no idea what those plants could be. She simply stared blankly at one of them, then drew her attention to the second one. They… were not that different. Besides the colour, everything seemed to be the same. Err. But still, the third year couldn’t figure out if those really were from the same species or not. Erm. Whatever, the young Ravenclaw told herself and then heard what Kurumi said. That was probably the right answer.

That was it! That was why those plants looked very much the same, but still had a few particularities- because it depend on who plants them. Then, that was why the lesson was held in the evening. Because something happened to them when it was moonlight, but Gwendolyn couldn’t actually remember what that was. Humm. In this case, chances are those are BOTH Norandola plants.

Anyway, the answer had already been said, and Gwen knew she couldn’t have figured it out on her own, so she simply waited patiently for Professor Bentley’s response and for further questions. Anyhow- it should be getting easier, since it was… almost clear what kind of bushes those two were.

Alyssa only just realIzed that Janice was sitting next to her. She would have said hi if class hadn't started but since it had, she acknowleged her presence by smiling and nodding to her.

Messer's eyes were glued to that two plants. He had no idea what are those. Herbology was never his strong subject. Some students said they are norandola. He even didn't know what's norandola. Maybe he should read more books about Herbology. Nevertheless, the young badger raised his hand up in the air. "Professor, are those Spiky Bush?"

Seren had been beginning to wonder whether or not comfy bean bags and hot drinks were such a good idea... perhaps something more uncomfortable would keep the students awake. At least she'd know for next time.

"Yes! now as some of you have mentioned, these are Norandola bushes. They look fairly similar right now, but this is not always the case. It is only beneath the full moon that they reveal their true identities." Pausing for a moment, to let the sleepyheads process what she had just said, Seren took up her mug from the ground and sipped on it.

"Now, does anyone know what makes these plants so unique... so, special?"

Gideon listened as most of the rest of the class seemed to know what type of plant the bushes were. Norandola...okay now what was it about them.... he mused trying to think of an answer. The thought finally came to him after a few moments of thought and he raised his hand to answer. "Its appearance is determined by the characteristics of the planter and caregiver. Gender forms....shape of flower...scent as well as other things can change depending on this."

Alyssa sat up as the Professor confirmed that the plants were indeed the Norandola plants. Now that she knew what it was, Alyssa knew what made them unique. So she raised her hand and answered,"Professor, during a full moon when the Norandola plant is exposed to direct moonlight, it will spin on the spot and give off a bright light. That alone is unique, but I think mainly it has to do with the gender of the plant. Basically under the light of a full moon, the female and male plants will look a lot different from what they would usually look like. The female plant will look like they are silvery in color and have flowers that look like silver crescent moons, while the male plant will have golden pods that contain some kind of dust. "

Jory raised his hand. "The appearance of both the genders of the plants will differ frm their normal appearance under full moon conditions,'' he said then took a sip of his hot chocolate.
