Nate ran up to the Headmaster's gargoyles just in time to see them close on the fleeting back of another student. Thankful that he wouldn't have to do that Buddha Buddha Buddha thing again this term, he gave a curt not to the gargoyles themselves and sat on the waiting bench, alone.

It was killing Nate inside not to be a able to tell the Headmaster about Jared and Team Wolf, and everything that had happened, but he knew he had to hold true to Jez and Pam. So this visit would be nothing more than a quick 'hello' visit, and nothing more. That is, if he could control himself.

Upon Professor Roslund's suggestion, Kurumi had brought her notes from the night in the Observatory about the comet her and August had discovered to the stone gargoyles. She had been a bit surprised when the Astronomy professor suggested that the comet may have something to do with Hogwart's 1000 year anniversary and wasn't entirely sure what to make of that. In all the books and film she had seen, it was never a good thing when a celestial object just happened to show up on commemorative days.

Glancing over her shoulder to see if August had caught up yet, Kurumi looked at the gargoyles and sort of squeaked. Did the random rules from last year still hold true? Unsure but wanting to walk on the side of "better safe than sorry," Kurumi walked up to one of them and began to rub its belly.

"Buddha Buddha Buddha...."

The gargoyle springs to the side, revealing the circular stair up to the Headmaster's office. You may proceed.

August had been walking just behind Kurumi as they headed down to the Headmaster's Office located on the third floor and was pretty sure she had stopped to when one of the Portraits got him stuck up in a riddle.

He had just puzzled out that the goose would NEVER have eaten brunch with the sea lion when he turned to find that the Gryffindor Prefect/co-discoverer of a comet was no longer there beside him. Taking off down the last set of stair and turning off into the third floor corridor, he found her just as she was rubbing the belly of one of the stone Gargoyles. He had never visited Headmaster Tate at his office so for all he knew this was common practice.

"Sorry about that, I had a to solve a riddle for a few old ladies in a painting back there." he panted, catching his breath from his short run.

Minerva walked up to the statues.. Does she knock, no a password, but she didn't know it. "Umm gargoyles can you please tell the headmaster I would like to have a word." she didn't know if that would work or not, but maybe...

Alyssa had something to give to the Headmaster but this was the first time that she was actually going up to his office. She came up to the two gargoyles which were rumored to not let anyone pass without a password. Alyssa didn't know what the password was so she first spoke to the gargoyles asking for permission to pass. Then while waiting she took a seat on one of the chairs.

Minerva decided that since she didn't have a password she wasn't getting in. So she turned to go, maybe she would just owl the headmaster on her question instead of bothering him.

As the Ravenclaw boy departs, the gargoyle remains to the side to allow the next student(s) in line access to the office.

louise went and sit down in one of the chairs, she needed to speak to the headmaster

Only stopping now to catch her breath, Kurumi arrived at the stone gargoyles and leaned against the wall for a moment. She had practically sprinted the entire way from the vegetable patch, but the sooner she saw the Headmaster the sooner she could get back to the stunned Acromantula. If Professor Scabior was willing to use students to steal him a lobalug for whatever reason, there was no telling what he would do when an Acromantula fell right into his hands.

"Um...excuse me," she said to the gargoyle blocking the way. "I need to see the Headmaster right away. It' an emergency."

Tate himself HAPPENED to be on his way to grab a bite to eat when he discovered a little Gryffindor prefect panting outside his door. That couldn't be good. Must be out of flour in the kitchen.

"Hollingberry. Did you discover another astronomical anomaly, or did you just miss me?"

Kurumi blinked a few times feeling just a little confused. Had she missed him? Well, she wasn't entirely sure about that. She didn't mind being in his presence as he had some fatherly quailities about him that put her at ease....

"No...but I did discover an Acromantula in the vegetable garden," she said a little too matter of factly. "Well, more like it discovered me." And tried to eat her, but that wasn't an important detail really.

"I'm starting to think this is one of Williamson's practical jokes gone awry," Tate muttered, letting the door shut behind him as he headed toward the stairs. His long legs ate up the floor, but he paused after only a few steps and gestured for the girl to follow.

"You didn't get eaten this time around." Not that she'd been eaten before, the silly lion cub. "How did you leave it?"

Practical joke? If it was...couldn't Professor Williamson use less dangerous creatures? Let a flock of pixies loose in the castle instead of Acromantula? What was next? Dragons?! Actually, deep down Kurumi sort of hoped for that....

Seeing the Headmaster gesture for her to follow, Kurumi stumbled forward nervously before she caught up to him. His strides were so much longer than hers and it took about three of her hurried steps to keep up with his one. Kurumi shook her head. Nope, not eaten...ever actually, but that much was obvious. "It is stunned, sir," she said with a slight hint of pride in her voice. "Professor Scabior arrived after Kennedy and I had been trying to blast it back with Arania Exumai, but Stupefy seemed to work better with all three of us casting at once. Professor Scabior conjured robes to tie it down just in case it were to wake up and told me to go get you. Kennedy went to get Professor Williamson."

And that should bring the Headmaster up to date, yes?

"Ah." So they'd knocked out the thing instead of trying to coax it back into the forest. Apparently Miss Hollingberry DID have a learning curve and was going to avoid death for the next little while. It was something of a relief that he didn't have to worry about her anymore.

"So let's go then."

Presley was more than a little nervous for this conversation. The Headmaster had told her last year that she was to come discuss that same subject again this year. So badly she wanted her father to be proud of her. And truthfully, she was bored with the level of work she was expected to perform.

So, dressed up, and trying to be professional, and at the same time not look like she was trying to act too old, Presley stepped up to the stone gargoyles. She didn't have the password, so she simply waited, sincerely hoping that somebody was currently in the office so that she wouldn't have to wait very long.

Ella walked with her second vase filled with beautiful flowers over to the stone gargoyles. She thought the creatures were quite ugly and could use something pretty to tone down their severity. Maybe the headmaster would also appreciate this little addition to the scenery near his office. She placed the arrangement down and smiled, thinking they looked a little out of place but quite nice next to the larger stone structures.

Alyssa waited at the Gargoyles. The last time it had let her in, after she waited long enough, without a password. So Alyssa stood there waiting patiently. "Hi I would really like to see the Headmaster. I have a gift for him. When you have the time, you could allow me to go up please."Alyssa told the gargoyles. 'Hey it's worth a try,'Alyssa thought to herself as she waited patiently, holding the gift in her hand.

Alyssa looked at her watch. She hoped that the Headmaster would return soon. She had noticed that the stone gargoyles were actually standing the side, like they were in the past when she had last visited the Headmaster. But she didn't dare go up unless she knew that he was there. Alyssa was worried because she was running out of time. Her Ancient Runes homework needed to be submitted soon, and she had to present the rune that she had carved as part of her homework assignment to the person she had made it for. She decided that if the Headmaster didn't show up by the deadline then she would just have to leave take the risk and enter his office and just leave it on his desk. "Where are you Headmaster?"Alyssa said aloud.

Tate strode down the hallway from the staircase, completely unsurprised to spot a few students waiting for him. Of course... he'd been gone for ages with all that nonsense with wild creatures on the grounds, and now there was a line.

"Now then... who was first?"

Alyssa quickly put up her hand. "I just wanted to give you something Headmaster." Alyssa told him offering the box containing the Rune inside it. "It's part of our Ancient Runes homework assignment. We are supposed to make a rune that would best fit a member of the school staff."

Presley had most definitely been first, but if alyssa just had something quick, Presley had no problem letting her just go. Presley's topic was going to be a discussion. Long or short, it didn't matter, as long as he was willing to reconsider her idea from last year. "I needed to speak with you, Headmaster. Privately if that's okay?" Crap. The unprofessional word 'okay' could have just blown it. She was trying to get his respect right off, and she'd probably just lost it.

Ah, the poet. Tate nodded at the girl and accepted the box. Gifts? He really shouldn't accept... ah. Runes.

"Well. Thanks, I suppose. What exactly is the point of this, though?"

He had a suspicion that the Ravenclaw was returning to finish their conversation from last term. Sigh. Didn't anyone want to retain their childhood anymore? What was with the blasted hurry to grow up so fast?

"You can head up to my office, and I'll be right behind you."

Alyssa blinked. 'What was the point of what? Giving the rune to him?'Alyssa thought to herself. She was about to panic before she remembered the reason. "Uh... the Ancient Runes Professor wanted us to carve a rune which best fits the personality or character of a staff member. I chose the rune Tiwaz because it represents Honor, Justice, Leadership and Authority, all of which I believe you possess, Headmaster, or you wouldn't be our Headmaster." Alyssa told him

Alyssa knew that there was another reason. Then she remembered. "Oh yes, the rune can be used to give you more courage...not that you aren't brave already...and to protect you in battle. I know that you're not going out to war or anything, but with all the strange creature sightings and things happening in the school, in a sense you are in some kind of battle. A battle to try to solve the mystery, but at the same time ensuring that no one, or creature, gets hurt in the process." Alyssa told him. 'Yes this rune definitely represents the characteristics of our Headmaster.' Alyssa thought to herself.

"Well, that's very thoughtful of you," Tate studied the rune again before putting the lid back on the box and trying to stick the whole thing in his pocket. "I'm honored you think so highly of me, although I'm not sure I warrant it. I hope you get high marks for the effort."
