~* Entrance *~
As you approach the Muggle Studies classroom, you notice that the door is closed, which is different than usual. When you reach for the door handle, a deep British accent comes from the door, "Please state your full name and your House..."
After you share your name and house, the door will swing open to the ornate classroom. As usual, Professor Cerulean has decorated the classroom using charms to match the theme of the lesson. Once you have rped yourself introducing yourself to the door wait for the door to formally announce you before you enter the room. (I will come in throughout the day and act as the announcer)
Before entering, please wait for the door to introduce you properly. Then you may walk into the room.
~* Decorations *~
The room is extravagant! The ceiling is sparkling under a tool puff. The room is divided into four sections, one for each of the houses. Each section is easy to spot because it is color coordinated to match each house. Above each section, there are Chinese Lanterns floating above the section in shades of the house's color. So the Slytherin section has shades of green lanterns floating above the round tables. Ravenclaw has shades of blue lanterns floating above the round tables. Gryffindor has shades of red lanterns floating above the round tables. And Hufflepuff has shades of yellow lanterns floating above the round tables.
SPOILER!!: The ceiling
SPOILER!!: Chinese Lanterns Floating over each section
Each section contains a number of round tables that have been decorated using the House Colors as well. The tables have a simple black table cloth. The napkins and plates color coordinate with the lanterns floating above them. The tables have already been set in a formal setting. The centerpieces are very simple and elegant. Each centerpiece has three cylinder vases of varying sizes filled with water that is dyed to match the House color. A simple candle floats in each vase.
SPOILER!!: Table Settings

~* Instructions/OOC *~
Please read the notes under the Entrance section. Once you have rped yourself introducing yourself to the door wait for the door to formally announce you before you enter the room. (I will come in throughout the day and act as the announcer) Then find a seat wherever you would like. Professor Cerulean will be here shortly. Please keep talking to a minimum and remember that she is watching at all times...
The class will officially start in about six or so hours. See you then!

Alex wrinkled his eyebrows and held out his hand. Make a B and a D? What on Earth did that mean? After a bit of struggling he realized she meant LOWERCASE B and D which made things a lot easier, but it took him at least two more minutes to crack this type of etiquette code. Once he had the answer, he raised his hand.
"OH! It means bread and drink, right? Cause your bread is here...and drink is here..." he said, motioning to the spots on the table as he spoke.

HEHE. Was she just lucky? Or what? That first question was something her Grandmother always instructed her and her sister to do before eating. Well..that was when the old lady was still alive. But she still remembered.
Beezus raised her hand, "Professor, the hand where b is formed which is basically your left hand stands for your bread plate and the d hand which is your right hand stands for your drinks. The utensils should be placed accordingly to this rule." Well? Not too bad eh? Muggle Studies. Maybe she'll survive this.
Eino listened and watched as Professor Cerulean introduced the class to her lesson. It was rather hard to keep his eyes in one place because there was so much going on. Eino was curious to know how muggles ate, or what was their etiquette. He couldn't quite imagine how different it would be from wizard's etiquette. As a pureblood wizard he had always experienced the wizard custom first, but he had eaten at muggle restaurants before and never stood out. They use plates and plates, too? So far, no differences. When prompted Eino attempted to do the B and D with his hands as Professor Cerulean demonstrated, but he was having a little trouble. When she asked what the two letters stood for, Eino raised his hand. "B is for, ummm, bubbles, because sparkling drinks make bubbles and they are on this side... D is for, uh, dishes, because you put your extra dishes here." Sounded reasonable.

Amelia made the gestures like the Professor had indicated to, then raised her hand. "Because bread is kept on the left side and stands for b. Drinks are kept on the right and stand for d." Or that was the only thing she could suppose right now, because anything else would be totally weird and not relate to food in any way.
The door's voice bounced off every edge in the classroom, "Introducing Ms. Selena Vivianne Zabini-Riddle, Slytherin House."

Gemma walked into the room excitedly. She was hoping that the students enjoyed the evening..the lesson...and the food...especially the food. She walked to the middle of the room so that all of the four sections were on all four sides of her. She smiled at each of the section and did a small curtsy/bow towards each section.
With a flick of her right wrist, her wand shot out of its holster. She flicked her wand and four screens dropped down from the ceiling. Each screen faced a different set of House tables. Then a little cocktail table with a tall bar stool appeared in the middle of the room with a purple napkin and plate and single vase filled with purple water and one candle.
Gemma couldn't help but beam at the students.
"Welcome to the first Muggle studies lesson of the term! Please please please have a seat if you haven't already! I hope that you already feel special with such a formal greeting...It always makes me feel like a princes..." she said motioning her hands down to signal that they sit down.
Then she continued, "I'm hoping that you enjoy this lesson from the attire to the decorations to the theme to the FOOD!" she said this statement with the most emphasis on the food.
Then she turned slightly to face another set of Houses...she didn't want one house to think she was only speaking to them. "Etiquette is defined as the rules for socially acceptable behavior. These type of rules are important in both the Muggle and Wizard World; however, many of the rules vary in each world...some are the same but there are many differences. Today we will focus on the Muggle side of these rules." she said with a slight nod up and down.
"Etiquette isn't new. It may have begun with a behavior code by Ptahhotep, in Egypt's reign of the Fifth Dynasty King DJedkare Isesi." she paused realizing that her History side was shining through and then she quickly continued.
"There are all kinds of opportunities to impress, such as dates, meeting new people, lunch with a peer that you look up to, not to mention the Holidays, plus more and more job interviews being done over a dinner table." she figured she was rambling so she got to the first point.
She motioned to the screens and the table setting appeared on the screen. "If you will take a look at your seating area and the way your plates and forks and drinks are set up..." she motioned towards her table and turned a little bit to face a different couple of tables. "I'm sure you're first question as you look at the table is figuring out which items belong to you...the settings are very close together and this can be confusing..." she flicked her wand and the water glasses, bread plates, and napkins levitated over the table.
"If everyone will hold up their hands and make a B with their left hand and a D with their right hand...." she demonstrated with her hands, "These two hand signals will help you remember which is yours...Can anyone guess what the b and the d stand for? Please raise your hand before you answer...." she said glancing between the tables.

Selena looked at her hands, confused. What did the B and D stand for? Selena's hand shot straight up into the air. "Bad Dinner." Because eating dinners in such an environment was always so confusing with all the different spoons and forks and things. It was too complicated. It was like they couldn't just settle down for one simple utensil to use throughout the whole meal. That definitely had to be what the B and D stood for.

Jonathan took a seat in one corner just like everybody did so. They were going to learn dinner etiquette like muggles. Jonathan has never really experienced it before but he does go to formal parties that his parents attend to. If the ministry party was set during the summer vacation, Alexander would have dragged him along too. Thank Merlin for the fast paced seasons.
B and D. The professor raised the question. Jonathan raised his hand B is for bread, which is located on the left side while D is for drink, located on the right side" he explained. So it was somewhat the same as the one he learned from his mother as well. Victoria is very particular with these stuffs. He never thought it would've come handy in school.

Kurumi sort of flinched when the door made a right spectacle out of her arrival. Couldn't she had just, you know, walked in like normal and not felt like a thousand eyes were on her? Kurumi blushed as she made her way towards where Jonathan was sitting, took a spot beside him, and waited for class to begin.

Kurumi held her hands up and tried to copy the professor's movements. Kurumi had never seen this practice before, so this was entirely new to her. Sure, she had grown up nonmagical, but her country's customs were different...and there certainly was no talk of b's and d's when it came to dining etiquette. She looked at the table. What here looked like it belonged to a b category... b...dinner... "Does...b mean...baked goods?" Kurumi asked after raising her hand and then she glanced back at the table. D...d...d...what could d be? Design? Delicates? As in...their napkin? That sounded a fair enough guess. "And the d is...delicates? Such as our napkin?"

Nathan was a bit out of it with this class. Edicate lessons just seemed so girly to him. He half way listened to the professor and heard something about what b and d stood. What the heck, people were saying bread and drinks was the answer, to what, hunger? H
His boredom for this insipid class grew and he found himself lazily tracing his finger across the table. As he made a b shape on his left side he noticed it led to his bread dish. He decided to try the d on his right which led him to his drink. He could not believe it, he had figured out what his classmates meant by pure laziness.
He raised his hand and responded, "b stands for bread dish because when you make a b on the table it leads to you're bread. The d stands for drinks cause when you do a d on the table it leads you to you're drink. The one closest to you", Nathan responded happily. He was so surprised that he was actually starting to enjoy the etiquette class.
"If everyone will hold up their hands and make a B with their left hand and a D with their right hand...." she demonstrated with her hands, "These two hand signals will help you remember which is yours...Can anyone guess what the b and the d stand for? Please raise your hand before you answer...." she said glancing between the tables.
Muggle Studied never did disappoint. The whole area looked simply amazing: the ceiling, the table set, everyone dressed in their fancy outfits. There was even a talking door. Although, that wasn't very muggle.. *shrug*
And Professor Cerulean looked great in her dress! It was very colorful, unlike Desiree's which was grey, but it had some sparkles and a little bit of feathers on the top too. She watched the Professor levitate everything off the table, and held up her hands as asked, staring at them a little confused. B and D? She should know this! Her parents were super strict about etiquette, but maybe muggle and wizard etiquette was different? She heard people say bread and drink.. which made sense, but.. she thought a little longer.
She slowly raised her hand, "Professor, B could stand for beverages which are kept on the left side, and D could stand for dinner which is on the right side?" she answered questioning herself, it was the opposite of what everyone else had said, but that didn't make it wrong. But she had a feeling she was pretty off. Better saying something, than nothing at all, right?
Making sure that there was a seat next to him free for when Amelia took her seat, Isaac sat down but looked around the room in amazement. The decor and ceiling were spectacular!
Wait...the professor was speaking. B and D? His eyebrow lifted confusion plastered on his face. Why in Merlin's name would that signify anything? And did she mean in ASL or BSL or the actual shape of the B and D? His confusion just made him shake his head. What would it signify?
Raising his hand he decided to give it a shot. "Would it mean if you lie them beside the utensils everything between is yer own?" Or perhaps it meant the specific utensils on either side of the plate? Well it was too late to change his answer now.
India smiled to the door as she stepped in, "Thank you," she smiled and made her way into the room stepping slowly in order to make sure she didn't trip or cause any harm to other students. Really. It would be awful of her to ruin someone's dress and not do it intentionally.
Walking to a little table she sat down making sure to cross her legs at her ankles so as to not let there be any accidental views of anything inappropriate. "Would the B and D indicated bread and drinking glass or where your bread should go and where your drink should go?" She asked after raising her hand. "Or more so the B.M.W technique taught by Emily Post" what? Any girl should know of Emily Post's book of Etiquette. She did. She'd read it.

Staring blank in confusion at her lightly painted finger nail, Eva had absouloutley no idea what this Professor meant! As her confusion ran through her mind Eva tried to duplicate what this Professor was doing. Eva thought about what B and D meant. Hmmm Brutal Dinner, Bad Duck or Breakfast Dinner? Eva thought to herself. She came up with an alright answer to do with 'B and D' and put her hand up and responded to the question; "Is it Brutal Dinner?" Eva with only this time a little bit of confusion. She knew it wasn't right so she thought deeper and deeper. She came up with something that made a lot more sense this time. Still keeping her hand up she spoke for the second time and said; "Sorry I finally figured it out; B is to remember that your bread is on the left and D is to remember that your drink is on the right. It is a tip to remember which one is your so you don't get confused with the person next to you." Wow! Eva sounded a know-it-all then but she was sure she got it right.
Kennedy was beyond impressed with the Muggle Studies classroom. It almost felt like if it was Prom with all the fancy stuff. Hmm, now that reminded him that he wouldn't be attending Prom at his old muggle school because he'd be at Hogwarts. Hmm, and he apparently didn't care. Heh.
He also felt sort of special when the door announced his name like if he was royalty. He listened to the question Professor Cerulean had asked, and then looked down at the table. He...had no clue. The only time he's been to a fancy dinner was with Aurora's family and even then he only mimicked their movements.

Even though the door obviously couldn't see her, no matter how observant it had seemed to be with the introductions, Stella gave it a smile as it had opened for her. She wasn't going to stop being polite, especially as it was an etiquette lesson. And, stepping inside, she'd looked around at the decor mometarily before finding a seat in the blue area. Obviously Matt either wasn't coming, or just wasn't there yet, so she'd sit with the other Ravenclaws. Specifically, it seemed, next to India, which worked for her since at least she knew the other girl. It saved needing to go through many other introductions.
Her attention had gone to Professor Cerulean as the woman had entered, after an exuberant introduction from the imaginary doorman, and she'd nodded at the explanations. The history lesson was unexpected, but at least it had given a basic idea as to why they were learning this. She made the hand gestures as requested as well, although she dropped one of them as she'd raised her hand to answer the question. "Insofar as we're focusing on the specific items, the B and D refer to the bread plate and water glass. Indicating that the bread plate should always be on our left, and our glass on the right," she replied, adding a bit to what had been said by others as she glanced over at Dia again. Apparently etiquette classes happened at other places as well, or at least the other Claw had interesting reading habits.

For the first time in her life, Sky was silently thanking her parents for dragging her to all those boring dinners with her father's business partners. She felt confident that she had this down! She followed the professor's instructions, making a b with her left hand and a d with her right. She so had this! Sky calmly (the lesson was about etiquette, after all) raised her hand before confidently answering, "We're making the b with our left hand because the bread plate will be on the top left of the place setting and the d with our right because our drink will be on the top right."

Taking a seat in the green area, Nora tried to do the B and D, just as professor Cerulean did with her hands, but she couldn't quite figure what they meant. She knew what to use and when and how, but she had no idea what those were supposed to mean, so she decided to remain silent. Maybe it was for the better, so she wouldn't say something really stupid.

Alyssa took a seat as instructed and then held up her hands trying to make the letter B with her left hand and the letter D with her right hand. She looked at the how the plates and glasses were arranged on the table, and realized what the letters stood for. Even though others had already answered the question, she still raised her hand to give hers. "Professor, the b stands for our bread plate which should always be placed on our left hand side and the d stand for our drink glass that should always be on our right. So if the table arrangement is very close together, we need to remember that we shouldn't reach over to the right to take the bread from that plate because that bread belongs to the person on our right and if we wanted to make sure that we didn't end up drinking someone else water, we should always reach for the glass on our right and not the one on our left."

Zhenya raised her hand after hearing the question. It had reminded her of a dinner time song she and her grandparents used to sing... it was lame but she used to love it! "Professor it goes," she started tuning the song, "One, two better eat your bread - three four, don't forget to drink," she said, turning slightly red from embarrassment from singing in front of the class.

Aurora smiled quietly to herself and raised her hands in a B and D shape as instructed, then Professor Cerulean asked what they meant... her hand shot into the air. "Bread and Drink, Professor." she said. Oh yes, her private tutoring had come in handy before but she'd never thought her mother's dinners would be useful until now...
Angelina raised her hand and said, "The B is for bread and D is for drinks." She wasn't to sure, just taking a guess, she knew nothing about muggle things or stuff like that..
Ira was amused when the door repeated the students' names exactly the same as they had said! It was so funny! Ira wondered how grand the inside was going to be?
As she stepped inside the door, Ira was mesmerized by the room's interiors! It looked so beautiful.. The ceiling looked amazing, all shiny and bright! And she also loved the table settings. It all looked so elegant! Ira wondered how Professor Cerulean got all these wonderful ideas from.
Ira had never been to such grand parties in her whole life! Her parents weren't the type to socialize much, and moreover weren't even in the so-called high class either! So it wasn't a surprise that Ira didn't really know the correct dinner etiquette at such formal dinner party, despite being a muggleborn.
So she just kept quiet and instead, focused on admiring the beautiful decorations.
I was rude? And the door is what- a lovely presence? Psh...,the Ravenclaw thought. Wait- I lost points!? I LOST POINTS???? I lost POINTS from my house!? Noooooo! Gwen was complitely mind blown. Finally taking a seat, the girl waited for the lesson to end. I am probably going to screw up something AGAIN, she dramatized.
'Bread and Drink...', Gwen said simply. Or boring and dull, she thought, but didn't even think to say it out loud. I might lose even more points.
"If everyone will hold up their hands and make a B with their left hand and a D with their right hand...." she demonstrated with her hands, "These two hand signals will help you remember which is yours...Can anyone guess what the b and the d stand for? Please raise your hand before you answer...." she said glancing between the tables.

Basically, they were going to learn how to eat. Great. Evelyn started to get a feeling that she wasn't going to enjoy the lesson at all.
She did as the professor instructed. She made a B with her left hand and a D with her right hand. Hm. What do the B and D stand for? Hm.
Evelyn raised her hand and said lazily, "B stands for Bread and D stands for Drink." She had no idea why though.
After his introduction into the room Brycen took a seat and waited as more students entered. He imagined his mom with a smug I told you sort of expression on her face when she learned he was having proper dinner etiquette lessons in his muggle studies class.
The teacher instructed they make a B and a D with their hands. Brycen looked at his hands and quietly said Bread and Drink as if making sure he didnt forget. He suddenly wished he had lstened to his mum more during dinner.
