Hurrying down to the court area reserved for Gobstones matches, Josephina hastily pulled two bags of stones from her tote. One bag filled with red stones, the other, green. She knew she was slightly late in starting the first match and she only hoped that some members from each house would still show up.
Upon seeing a few, she nodded respectively at both houses, handing them each their respective colored stones before continuing with her customary beforehand speech. "You've read the rules. Any horseplay or cheating or anything poor misendeavors will not be tolerated. Good luck." | |

It was quite easy for Josephina to tell the difference between Ryan Rusconi and Selena Zabini-Riddle. It had nothing to do with the color of their robes either. For rather, instead, that the sixth year focused her stone on shooting, thus it rolled close to the center Jack. The second year, though admittedly not bad, his stone rolled away from the center Jack and toward a young first year sitting in the front of the viewing arena.
Slytherin keeps true to their form and wins the first point of the match!

Perhaps it was a Slytherin Prefect trend. Maybe Evelyn had left some secret code of wisdom for her successor when it game to Gobstones, but Zabini-Riddle was playing like a pro. She rolled her next stone.... again, aiming to shoot, and it once more rolled close to the center Jack Stone. Taking a break, Rusconi passed his turn off to an older Lion, Gideon Gert, as he opted to watch for a turn or two. Gideon rolled and the red stone bounced slightly on the court, as if following the eye movements of the Defense Professor... and then rolled to a spot away from the Jack Stone. Better luck next time, Lions.

Prefect vs Prefect. Kurumi Hollingberry had been laying low thus far, but one couldn't deny that the girl knew how to shoot. A nice high lob, and her red stone went sailing through the air, close to the Jack Stone. Selena wasn't about to let one Japanese fifth year throw her mojo off. Oh no; the sixth year lobbed her green stone as she had before, which sailed along the court, rolling to a spot near the center Jack Stone. But it just so happened, the red one was closer.
The Lions were ready to fight back. Maybe.

Determined not to let Kurumi get in her way, Selena rolled her stone carefully this time. It landed just a few meters from the center Jack Stone. Close. Kurumi rolled her own stone about the same time, taking some careful measures of the terrain with one goal in mind: the Jack Stone. It bounced. And closed in on the Jack Stone, what might have been sealing a round for Gryffindor ....
... Except what was this? Another red stone bounced onto the court area, clearly lobbed by an inexperienced player, as it lobbed across the terrain in the direction of the viewing area. Glancing around at the players, Fina's eyes found the one who threw the odd stone. "Penalty on Miss Deluise for half-lobbing her red stone onto the court, after another was already thrown. Point goes to Slytherin"
ooc: Answers from the same house posted 4 or more minutes apart will be penalized, where the opposing team will automatically be awarded the point for that question.
ooc2: since I'm 2+ hours late on this... I'm postponing today's scheduled match time to give you a more definitive time. The match will continue at approx. 2pm EST (so one hour from now)

The Slytherin Quidditch Captain wanted a chance, hoping that perhaps practicing shooting would give her an advantage in her role as chaser in quidditch. Admittedly, the girl had some precision. Her green stone sailed across the court and fell near to the center Jack Stone. Good shot, for sure. She at least knew what she was doing.
To counter it though, Kurumi procrastinating, for a moment it looked as though Gryffindor would forfeit their turn, but at last minute, she lobbed her red stone high into the air, as it soared, Fina watched with eager anticipation as it spun in the air.... and then fell.... just closer to the Jack Stone then the green stone. Gryffindor steals the point and the round.
ooc: quick note about the ruling; since I asked which rune best represents, though there were better runes, of the two listed - Raidho and Kenaz - Kenaz better represents protecting oneself from the Dark Arts.

Though she wasn't experienced, she wasn't inexperienced either; Sierra Greingoth had been keeping rather quiet thus far in the match. That was when she took matters into her own hands... giving the stone a rather hard throw .... it bounced on the uneven surface... and for a moment, it looked as if it was headed in the right direction to take one of the Hufflepuffs out sitting in the front not that Sierra would have minded that.
But at last moment, it bounced off the edge and back toward the center, falling close to the Jack Stone. Slytherin takes the point.

Still with a similar look of determination on her expression, Sierra threw the green stone once more, lobbing in hard in the direction of the Jack Stone. It took a while and though she was almost confident that a Gryffindor wasn't about to counter her stone and attempt to outdo her throw, at last moment, Ryan Rusconi tried again. He half-lobbed his red stone in the right direction... but it bounced off away from the Jack Stone.
