"Well.... that's definitely not what happened...." Jayden reassured the boy calmly, her eyes searching his. "But the fighting that did happen has me worried about us, and our friendship though.." She murmured sadly.

Eino put a halt to his conversation as soon as the headmaster rose and listened to his welcoming attentively, as he did every year. As Headmaster Tate spoke about the staff, Eino scouted through the long horizontal table for his Head of House, who wasn't there, and then for his favorite Professor, Professor Bentley. Needless to say he was more than delighted to see that she was sitting there, and grinning from ear to ear waved at her without thinking twice. He was excited to see the other returning Professors, too, but especially Professor Magnus and Professor Josephina. Sadly, Shaw wasn't there and chances that he would teach this year were very slim, but Eino still had some hope to see him.

He continued to listen and was rather surprised to hear about that Ministry tour that had been mentioned last year. Now he had something else to look forward to, and hopefully he didn't have to wait too long for that. That is, until he remembered who the other students who would be accompanying him were. Sierra Greingoth. He gulped and cautiously looked around the hall but didn't see her anywhere. He couldn't decide whether that made him more or less excited, but it definitely made him nervous. When the headmaster concluded his speech Eino applauded, and waited for the goodies to appear so he could fill his tummy.

Harvey was wondering when this feast would be over so that he could go to bed and then start his classes which he was very much looking forward to.

"I agree!" Croaked Nate, not wanting to ignore Jayden, but needing another conversation to keep him sane.

Nate sighed heavily. "Have we fought? Oh, I don't like this," Nate said.

Harlow was walking back to her seat at the Slytheirn table from talking with Professor Bentley. She was looking forward to Herbology. She was walking by the Ravenclaw table when she caught someone waving profusely at Bentley. She changed directions and headed over to the boy. She climbed over the bench and sat down next to him. "Hullo," she told him with a big smile. "Are you a fellow gardener?" she inquired.

As Erin noticed Harvey once again still at his table like before eating slowly, she walked into him and sat there.

"The Headmaster's speech is over. I think the feast is also going to end soon. You seem to be tired like me," she told tim.

Eino watched as a young snake walked towards him then took the empty seat beside him. Maybe she was lost. Hey, he had accidentally walked to the Hufflepuff table after he was sorted so maybe the same had happened to her. It was rather difficult to tell which table belong to which house. Then she spoke to him. He turned around and greeted her with a nod. "Hello." Right when he was going to inform her that she had sat at the wrong table, she asked him a question, which revealed that she had just sat there to speak to him, and maybe she knew she was at the wrong table after all. "Oh... a gardener? I suppose so, if by that you mean to ask whether or not I enjoy Herbology." Well, he liked Herbology because he spent most of his summers helping his grandparents with their gardens, but it wasn't his favorite subject. "I suppose you are one, then? And by one I mean a gardener, that is."

Gaby looked around for a moment, trying to see Cora, whom she'd seen sorted into Ravenclaw, and instead her eyes rested on a boy, who looked about the same age as her, sitting all alone and opposite her on the table. Aww, poor boy. She sent a friendly smile and a wave in his direction. 'Are you alright?' she asked wih genuine concern. No one should be alone on the night of the Opening Feast! It should be some kind of rule, she decided.

Oh, and the Headmaster had made a speech. She applauded with everyone else, even though she wasn't really sure what he had said. Something about new staff, homework, and enjoying their meal. Well, that was nice - did that mean that there would be food now? She grinned as her question was answered and she looked down to find the serving platters full of food. As if in response to that, her stomach rumbled rather loudly. 'Shh!'

"Yeah I am, first buying all my items and then packing it" Harvey listed on his hand "After that we lugged the luggage to the station and onto the train and then long train journey. After that we get sorted we eat AND then we go to bed. So it has been a really long day for me.. " As soon as Harvey said this he saw Erin's questioning look as to say JUST you have had a long day or all of us have had a long day so he amends what he just said "for all of us. So we are bound to be tired" He started playing with his food he was no longer in the mood to eat, he wanted to go to bed and then start his classes which is why he came here.

"How interesting! I bet you know about electricity and cars and Muggle stuff, right? You know, I've always thought we should admire the Muggles - they've survived without magic, and made things to help them that almost work as well as it!" Jez couldn't help being interested in this stuff - call it information deprived upbringing.


"Hello!" Jez greeted the new girl. "I'm Jezabel, but I've decided to be called Jez. Strange how after years of my siblings making up weird nicknames for me, I've found one that actually doesn't sound so bad ..." She trailed off, making a quick mental note to send an owl to one of her brothers or sisters as soon as possible. Even though they were mostly annoying gits, she may as well keep them informed. "So, what's your name? Enjoying Hogwarts so far?"


Jez smiled at the boy. "You in the same predicament? You know, parents against Muggles and that? My parents are plain horrible sometimes." It was amazing how withering the human voice could sound - and Jez had harnessed it well in her last sentence. "What's your name by the way? I'm Jezabel, or Jez."

"We didn't fight... but Pam, Beatrice and I did, and it seemed to have an effect on you." Jayden replied, her voice filled with dismay.

He was making her head hurt. Why couldn't he talk like a normal person? She bit her bottom lip as she worked through what he was saying. Better start off slow, "I'm Harlow," she held out her hand for him to shake. And to give herself a few more moments to untangle what he said. "Oh yes I have my own garden at home. Its really big too. My mommy helps me out a lot though." she answered once she was sure that was what he was asking. "Do you enjoy Herbology?" since he didn't say if he liked it or not....at least that's what she hoped he didn't say.

As this other girl approached, Nate said, "Yea, yea, I'm fine. I'm Nathaniel, what's your name?"

Nate's heart sank. "Well, erm, no... My parents are muggles..." Nate now regretted entering the conversation. "I'm Nathaniel," he said, not having the energy to say his full name.

"I guess it has," Nate said. He let out another sigh.

Eino shook her hand rather violently, as he always did, and introduced himself as he did so. "Delighted to make your acquaintance. My name is Eino, and I entrust you that is also who I am." He let go of her tiny hand, unaware that he had possibly dislocated every single bone on her arm, and continued. "I suppose I do." He said shrugging. He had found that after all the years helping his parents with their gardens he had learned immensely and continued himself to be a tad more knowledgeable on the subject than the average fourth year. Because of that he did enjoy it, since you know, there weren't many other things he was good at. In addition to that, it was something he could study freely outside of Hogwarts because it didn't require magic. "How splendid! I also work on a garden, but it does not belong to me. Do you enjoy the subject?"

Has anyone seen a boy named Hugo?" Willaim asked the table. " I was hoping to talk to him and become better friends with him this term and beyond" Willaim told the RaveClaw table.

MJ yawned before she could stop herself. "Oh wow! A lot of travelling and a load of good food and I'm suddenly falling asleep sitting up!! Sorry! Oh I love long journeys - I just like being able to read for ages I guess. Yeah, I love Ravenclaw so far! It was the house I really wanted!""

Oh, good, he was fine. Well, that was a relief, because as much as she liked to help people, she was now slightly wary of letting them cry on her shoulder. Not after the train incident, where she ended up with snot all over her robes. Not pretty. 'It's all good, then,' she said with a smile. 'I'm Gaby. Well, Gabrielle, but only my mom calls me that. I suppose you could if you really wanted to, but...' she trailed off as she realised she was rambling again. Whoopsies. 'Anyways, it's nice to meet you, Nathaniel,' she concluded hastily in her Southern drawl.

'Are you a First Year like me?' she asked curiously as she took a piece of chicken and placed it on her now-clean plate. She was so glad that the House Elf had turned up and fixed them all. She hadn't got a chance to say thank you, though, because as soon as she had turned around he was gone. Perhaps she'd make her way down to the kitchen sometime. 'Aren't you just so excited to be here? And I hear Ravenclaw is one of the best houses... of course, they're all great...' digging yourself into a hole here, Gabs.

"It's very fast not sure exactly how fast but fast enough for a seeker I'm sure. You have a point I'll at least try out and if I don't make it theres always third year" she said.

"That would be an awesome drawing. You should draw one of the Ravenclaw common room when you get there" she added. "So I was looking at house points today and Slytherin is already at -12 points on the first day"

"Oh. So I take it you don't want to walk with me back to the dorms after the feast anymore?" Jayden asked, her eyes filling with tears.

"I don't think blood matters," Alice blurted out. She bit her lip nervously; she didn't mean to enter a conversation she was not invited to, but the words left her mouth before she could stop herself.

She looked at him, and she thought, same here. Then she opened up, "I think, I've made quite an enemies here. You see, when I'm tired, I can't think right. I've shouted to an elf, to a fellow Ravenclaw, aaaaahh..." she said burying her face on her hands but not crying. "I've messed up today. I think I can't sleep in this mood. But you know, I wonder what's this all about. The tarnished plates and everything. Mysteries of Hogwarts and the Headmaster just said, most of the staffs are new," she muttered so that her face looks suspicious.

"Okay. Yeah, you can always keep on trying till you get on the team and besides there is no harm in trying. I'll probably try out for the team, and if I don't make it then I'll keep trying until I get it and if I don't get it, oh well at least I tried." Temperance says with a shrug of her shoulders.

"Yeah I think I will draw the ravenclaw common room too, thanks! I wonder what it will look like." she says "Wow! Is that because of the food fight earlier?"

"Hey don't worry it happens to everybody, when they are tired are stressed and fustrated and they tend to take it out on the living things around them" Harvey explains to Erin trying to change her mood to a positive one, hoping that he has succeeded. "Don't know what the dirty plates are all about, maybe the people that wash them are on strike and have decided not to wash them" Harvey says innocently

"I think so. I can't believe it everyone has 0 and we're at -12 already. I don't believe we will win the house cup this year" she said.

"I wonder when this feast will be over I can't wait to see the common room. Also I'm kinda excited for classes to start" she said. "Have you decided what classes your taking yet?" she asked.
