The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
And what's this? The silverware is tarnished and askew, almost as if thrust on the table willy-nilly. Take a seat and search for a clean spoon while the Sorting Hat ceremony commences. The House Elves have done their clean up work quickly and effectively, and the silverware and dishes are now set to right.
"Well, I think so. You should really help me stop them from snuggling this early. " she suggested. Snuggling ? at the Feast ? Come on .. where's the manners in that ?
"Well, what do we do? I don't want to do anything that could get us in trouble." She really didn't. But she would do almost anything to get them to stop.
Nate looked directly into her eyes. He could hear her thoughts, but it sounded like a mob talking all at once. "They had better like you, you're in their dorm," Nate said, trying his absolute best to be reassuring.
"Oh great, I already made dorm enemies..." A tear slid down her cheek, she wasn't sure how much more of this she could take, and it was only the first day....
But wait. What would her father say? She was a pureblood, she shouldn't have to deal with this, they should be more respectful. She regained her composure, leaned closely into Nate's arm, her hand in his, and smiled. Yes. Smiled, looking both girls right in the eye.

Jayden winced, surprised that they had been caught, but she quickly recovered.... "Yup. Sure am." Jayden flashed the girl a smile... she wasn't going to allow herself to be treated like some kind of houself. She was a pureblood for Merlin's sake... it was time she started setting some boundaries around here...

''Mine was brilliant I had loads of fun especially at diagon alley and the fair'' Luna smiled hoping that Rachel didn't think that she was rubbing it in
Abigail looked around the Ravenclaw table ''LUNA!!!'' she beamed and she walked over to her ''I'm in gryffindor i've already made a couple of friends!'' she smiled

Beatrice had clearly misunderstood what Nate had meant, but neither of them knew this, as Nate's own head was too fuzzled to read Beatrice's thoughts, and he wasn't able to explain to her what he had meant. The matter remained unresolved at that moment.
Pam looked over at her friend. "You alright Bee?" She asked, in a concerned voice.
Jayden heard the other girl that she was having issues with at the moment voice her concern about Beatrice... Having a sister that was a healer at St. Mungo's had made Jayden empathetic.. and although the two girls had issues, Jayden was a bit worried for the girl...

Raising his eyebrows at Ivory, Dallin couldn't help but laugh too. But come on, it was a good question! Very polite of him to make sure she didn't want to catch up on sleep, in fact. But no - she was a night person. Dallin smiled at that; it was good. That meant that she wouldn't be in a rush to get back to the common room. Unless she was worried about being out and about in the castle for too long... but he'd just deal with that if it came.
When she turned the question back to him he chuckled. "Definitely not." He loved staying up late. Even if he had to wake up early. And he didn't think he was weird in being like that.
He leaned back suddenly, stretching his arms above his head before putting them back on the table. "I wonder how the food'll be," he said, glaring at the dirty fork again. "Maybe it'll help us figure out if it's the elves' faults that the silverware is like this." Because if the silverware was bad, maybe the food would be too?
Happy to have gotten a laugh out of him, Ivory was glad to hear he wasn't an early bed person either though she did have to squash the childish urge to pipe up with a "we have so much in common" exclamation.
Stretching it seemed was like yawning. Now she felt the horrible tension in her arms and back. The horrible need to streeeetch even though the thought hadn't even entered her mind until she'd watched Dallin. Must-stretch-Gah. She settled for doing a slight arching of her back in an effort to pop it. There...much better.
"Hopefully, great as usual." she replied with nod. At least that's what she was hoping for. "I'm actually kind of hoping its an odd quirk in the spell that brings the stuff up from the tables in the kitchens. Maybe it needs a few fixing touches?" Perhaps every few years, it needed to be repeated just to make sure silverware didn't tarnish as it transported though time and space up to their tables. That made sense right? Inspecting her silverware again, she continued. "I just hope its not the house elves...." They had that horrible tendency to hurt themselves-
Speaking of the darling little things...
Turning in her chair, her elbow slightly brushing against his, Ivory pinpointed the sound of hiccups that had caught her attention.

Wincing as he hit his head particularly hard on the table as he cleaned silverware, the Ravenclaw prefect turned to look at Dallin and shook her head sadly. "Really, it's not a prob-" But then someone had to go and say they were displeased and he was apologizing again and moving to the staff table with his little steps. "Thanks you so much!" she called out in his direction. Hopefully, he heard her.
Letting out a big exhale of breath, Ivory leaned back and examined her now gleaming silverware. " Well that answers that question."
Bringing up both her elbows on the table and cradling her face between her hands, she tilted her head towards Dallin. "I don't know about you but now I think we need to go to the kitchens not just to investigate but to make sure all the elves arn't punishing themselves."
"Yeah, I really need to doze off now. My head hurts... again." she answered. Why does this keep happening to her ? Would this pave its way like the Mordred incident ? Hope not.
