Following the devastation which occurred inside these walls, Greenhouse Three has been closed to all students and staff... with the exception of an emotionally traumatised Professor Bentley. She had worked effortlessly throughout the days and even late into the night, salvaging as many plants and seeds as possible. These have been moved to a safe and secure location in one of the other greenhouses.
But now it's time to set things right again.
As you enter Greenhouse Three, you realise that it really has been gutted. There are no plants in here, aside from those that are wilted, rotting, broken and smooshed in the dirt. The soil which had once been rich and earthy is now thick and muddy, and the smell is a little overwhelming. The ground level and raised flowerbeds have been destroyed, the frames are broken and litter the floor. Mud and dirt is caked onto the glass panel walls, and streaky water marks from the melted snow-dragon make it difficult to see out of.
There is a lot of work to be done, to say the least.
Professor Bentley's blackboard is found inside the entrance, a list of tasks charmed onto its bleak, black surface.

Tasks:
1) Collect any plant debris and excessive mud and add it to the compost located outside the back of Greenhouse Three.
2) Collect any debris from the flowerbed structure and place off to the side at the back of the greenhouse for later repairs/recycling.
3) Empty the raised flowerbeds of muddy soil. There may be some where the soil is salvageable, if this is the case do not remove it. There is a large metal bin out the back near the compost. Please deposit all unusable soil here.
4) Repeat step 3, for the ground level flowerbeds.
5) Sweep the floors.
6) Wash the windows
Your efforts will be rewarded.
Thank you,
Professor Seren Bentley
One thing you do notice, is that Professor Bentley is not here... yet. But it's always good to be on your best behaviour.
All the tools you could possibly need are located by the entrance and in the stores cupboards. Here you will find rubbish bags, wheelbarrows, shovels and other digging implements, as well as gloves, goggles and spare work robes. Help yourself to whatever you need, just be sure to return them when you're done.
OOC: You may RP completing the activities with a friend. You do not have to complete all the tasks on the list, just do as much as you feel comfortable with. Also please note that while there are a number of tools at your disposal you are expected to use some magic in completing these tasks. But do be mindful of what age your character is and what they are able to achieve (be realistic). Please limit only ONE activity per post! And TITLE it with the number of the corresponding activity. This thread will be open for 1 week (maybe longer if I'm feeling generous). If you have any questions feel free to send me a PM and I'll be more than happy to help you out. Have fun!

If there were points to be gained, then Kourtney was so totally there. Even though she felt for Professor Bentley and the destruction to the greenhouse, she figured she could at least lend a helping hand and play a part in making the greenhouse like new. And quite frankly, it would be quite fun to work with her fellow classmates.
The young Gryffindor soon reached the greenhouse and entered it, immediately taking note of the pure chaos that had been rained down. Oh dear. Those poor plants. And poor Professor Bentley! She was sure that the woman was absolutely in shock.
She had already pulled on a pair of dragonhide gloves and held a pair of goggles in her hands. She needed work robes though, and so selected a pair that was cluttered together with many other items that were needed to help clean the greenhouse.
Once she had readied herself, she studied the list of tasks. This would definitely take a while, but she could help in any way that she could. Now...to decide which task to help complete first.

Indiana hadn't known about the greenhouses. But as soon as she had read the notice in the common room, she had felt pretty sad. The greenhouses were so pretty, and she liked herbology, so she was hoping that lots of students were going to come down, and help out. And they could earn some points too. So that could be very good too. Indiana did love earning points. So she was wandering down towards the greenhouses, this was going to be fun. Sure it would probably be a lot of work, but if everyone worked together it was sure to go pretty fast. Ooh. Look who it was. "Kourrt." Indiana smiled as she came to stand by her best friend, and looked up a the tasks that were written out.
The place looked pretty messy. Poor Professor Bentley. Indiana really did hope that everyone came and helped, so that the greenhouses would be better soon. "It's horrible..." The first year sighed, motioning around the greenhouses.

Marilyn arrived at the scene of the accident...looking alarmed. Snow dragon? Fire? Well, the Slytherin, of course, was hoping to catch a glimpse of this so-called snow dragon...
Gah! Of course, she had MISSED IT!
*sigh* She supposed she could stick around and help...It would get her mind off of...stuffs.
Yes, yes...With her mind made her, Marilyn strode purposefully into the Greenhouse, full winter attire, (dragonhide gloves, thick wool work robe, earmuffs...etc.)...After a few seconds, the smell over came her, oddly reminding the girl of Vinny's punishment. *gag*
Whipping out her wand, she pointed it at her nose, successfully clogging it. Breathing through ones mouth had benefits...THANK MERLIN she could do that here.
"Okay, Professor..." Her voice sounded nasally and squeakish. "I'm prepared to help."

When she saw Prof. Bentley's announcement in the Ravenclaw common room, she immediately went to get the stuff she needed in order to help.
When Orr went down to Greenhouse Three, she gasped at how ruined it looked and immediately got busy seeing as there were a few students there helping out and no sign of Prof. Bentley. There was the list of tasks on the blackboard and Orr chose the first task which was to collect any plant debris and add it to the compost located outside.
She immediately started picking up some of the plant debris and walking outside to throw it into the compost.
She found some debris which was deeply buried in the mud/debris so she took her wand and muttered a quiet, "Wingardium Leviosa" to lift up some of the heavier debris so she could collect the rest.

Kourtney glanced to her left side as a voice spoke her name. Her face immediately lifted into a smile. "Hey Indy!" She gave her friend a quick hug and glanced back at the list. "I know, right? I can't believe it...though where on earth did a snow dragon come from? I mean, I saw that snowman in the entrance hall, but what's up with all of the animals? Kinda weird, isn't it?"
She peered at the list again. "What shall we do first? Maybe help clean the windows?"

Indy smiled, hugging her friend. She was glad that her friends clearly wanted to help with the greenhouses. That was good. "I wonder who did it..." Indiana mused with a frown. It obviously wasn't a very nice person, because they were ruining all the pretty plants, and making a mess of the entrance hall. "It's not good....I hope they don't ruin any more of the school." Indy frowned as she read the list. What should they do first? All the list looked important.
Hmmm. "Yeah....lets do that." Indy nodded, because then at least when they had finished doing that they would be able to like see what else they were doing. "Then maybe it'll be a bit brighter in here."

Kourtney's forehead creased at the thought of someone ruining more parts of the school. "Definitely not cool. I don't know what they're playing at, but it's really rude and not very nice." She replied as she slowly shook her head. She hoped they caught the person/persons responsible....and soon.
She grinned again. "Glad you agree. Let's go!" She bent down to pick up a few clean rags and walked over to one of the windows. Removing her wand, she pointed it at the window. "Aguamenti!" She cast, watching as a spray of water flowed her her wand. She moved the wand from side to side to ensure that all of the window was covered with water.
Once that part of the window was wet, she stowed her wand away and began moving the rag back and forth along the window, scrubbing hard in some spots to try to get rid of splattered mud and the water streaks that covered the glass.
She switched to another rag in no time at all, and continued to work the rag around the window, side-to-side, pausing every now and again for a fresh spray of water from her wand. They would need the older students to get the higher bits of glass. Being eleven and short really was a bummer sometimes.

Aiden who heard about Professor Bentley would appreciate if the students help her to clean the devastated greenhouse headed there after lunch. It is her free time, anyway. And it is the least she could do for Professor Bentley who has always been kind to them. As she enters the ground zero greenhouse, she sees an older Gryffindor and a younger Ravenclaw.
"Hello," she greets them almost warmly, but there is slight arrogance in her voice. "Are you cleaning the greenhouse? May I help?" says the young Slytherin enthusiastically.

Katie needed to earn some more points for her house, because she wanted to feel like she was helping Slytherin win the house cup, and she seemed to enjoy cleaning, odd, I know. So she quickly gathered the needed things she needed for this.
Katie couldn't believe how wrecked the place looked, now she was defiantly determined to help out, not just for the house points, though that was still a reason why she was doing this, she then noticed that the professor wasn't there, she wondered why. Deciding to started with task one, of course, it was the first one, a great one to start at. Collect any plant debris and excessive mud and add it to the compost located outside the back of Greenhouse Three, that was task one. So Katie quickly picked up some Plant Debris and excessive mud and walked to the outside of the back of the Greenhouse and placed it on the compost, then going back inside to help some more.

Spying an instructional list, Marilyn walked over, inspecting what needed to be done. It seemed like a lot...but she couldn't allow herself to back out now...
Hmm...
3) Empty the raised flowerbeds of muddy soil. There may be some where the soil is salvageable, if this is the case do not remove it. There is a large metal bin out the back near the compost. Please deposit all unusable soil here.
The Slytherin figured she could manage this. After all, she had used that charm to plug her nose. She felt like she could take on anything...as long as she didn't have to smell it.
Stepping over to the raised flowerbeds, she took in the destroyed plants. They were mostly a sopping mess...although some looked like they could be saved. Pulling her wand, she levitated two of the destroyed plants towards the back and out to the large bin. Setting them down, Marilyn conjured a gardening spade, setting to work on emptying both pots. Once both were bare, she scourgified them.
They could sit out against the wall of the greenhouse. It would have been senseless to carry them back inside with all that mud and muck all over the place.
Reentering the greenhouse, she grabbed a few more destroyed plants and magicked them out back with her, repeating her process.
Dump, scrape clean, scourgify...
Go back in, get a few more...Levitate, dump, scrape clean, scourgify...

"No...it's not very nice at all." And Indiana had really thought that Hogwarts was going to be a nice place. But these snow-things weren't very nice, and Indy didn't like it at all. As long as none of them got into the common room, and ruined her books, she'd be kind of happy. She loved her books, and so didn't want them to get ruined at all. She smiled at her friend though. Cleaning was going to be fun with her friend. At least she wouldn't be lonely. And she liked that.
She kind of hoped she wouldn't get too dirty though, but she'd put old cltohes on, so it was okay. She wasn't silly like that. "Aguamenti" She used the same spell as Kourt, making the water spray onto some of the glass infront of her, before rubbing at the glass with a cloth. It was becoming clearer now, and she could actually see out of it. At her height anyway, she would have to get someone older to clean the top bits for her, because she couldn't reach. Bad times. Or she could like sit on her friends shoulders. That would work.
She glanced at Kourt, smiling. "It looks better alreaddy." And they had only just started. They were clearly the best cleaners ever, and they were only firsties. They rocked.

Jez walked into the greenhouse ready to get the place back to normal. She shuddered, remembering the horror of the snow dragon stomping on the lovely plants.
Jez smiled at the other students who'd come to help. "Hello," she said. Then she turned her attention on the first task - collecting remaining plant bodies and/or excessive mud - and started to help the cleanup effort.

Kurumi felt awful about what had happened in the greenhouse the day the snow dragon had appeared. She had tried to warn people that casting Incendio was only going to make matters worse, and Professor Bentley had warned them as well, but in all the chaos one student hadn't heard the warning and that had been that.
Wearing a pair of loose jeans, black turtle neck, and violet fleece vest, Kurumi entered the greenhouse and her jaw immediately dropped. Her eyes glazed over the scene of students already present and onto the damage that had been done. It was worse than she had thought. Maybe she should have asked her father to send her more seeds. She had only been given enough to maybe replant one flowerbed. The entire greenhouse was in shambles, as if a typhoon had come by and swept everything away.
Frowning slightly, Kurumi nodded her head to each of the students as she walked by and approached the board to read the instructions. Merlin, there was no way Kurumi was going to be able to accomplish all these things in the time allotted, so she might as well begin with cleaning things up so that someone could follow where she was with the other tasks. Team work was key with these sorts of things after all.
Kurumi put on her gloves, tugged on her boots, and trudged through the swamp over towards a part of the greenhouse where students hadn't been to yet. She looked down and saw a muddy soup of leaves, sticks, and flowers. Some looked like they had gone through a blender, while other looked like they had been trampled by a herd of centaurs.
In the infamous words of Professor Bentley, bouncing blueberries!
Kurumi knelt down and began pushing everything into a pile. Underneath the leaves and twigs was mud mud and more mud, which she would deal with later. Once she had a decent sized pile, Kurumi wondered how on earth she was going to carry it all. Using a Levitation Charm wasn't going to work since she would have to charm all the individual pieces. Looked like she was going to have to at least start it the non-magical way. Kurumi took out her wand and gave it a flick. "Accio bucket!"
A cherry red bucket flew across the greenhouse and into her hands. This would do. Kurumi began picking up all debris and loading it into the bucket until no more could fit in. Satisfied, Kurumi attempted to lift it up...but there was no way that she was going to be able to carry it all the way outside and to the back of the greenhouse. With another swish and flick, Kurumi cast a Levitation Charm. "Locomotor bucket," she said and began walking with the bucket floating along side her.
One bucket down...how many more to go? Not a clue.

Jonathan walked into the greenhouse and saw it is a complete mess. What happened here? Must be the snow dragon thing that Kurumi talked about the other day. He knew that it somehow destroyed the greenhouses but he didn't really expect for it to look like this.
Jonathan scratched his head as he entered the place. More students should definitely help. It's a big place. Jonathan eyed the instructions board and picked what he was going to do. CLEANING! Something he should be good at since he is OCD in nature. He took awhile to decide what he wanted to do.
Task 6: Wash the windows.
He put in some gloves, obviously, before going to the windows. Who knows what kind of stuff he'll be cleaning. It's best to be protected. He then walked over to the windows. Oh well, the sooner he gets this task done, the sooner he'll finish. He took his wand out "Accio bucket!" he uttered. Then came a bucket rushing in. What's next??? Hmmm... Water... He pointed his wand over the bucket and "Aguamenti!"
STOP!
Why was he summoning a bucket and casting water when he can just clean the windows using the Scourgify spell?! Jonathan put the bucket on the floor and started over. Pointing his wand over to the windows "Scourgify" he said as he watched the windows gets clean. This is fun!!! Jonathan smiled as he looked at the windows. After cleaning it he moved to the next window and cleaned it as well "Scourgify!" he uttered.
Next Orr moved on to clearing the flower beds from all the unusable soil. She found a rake and a dust pan and started raking up the soil that would be thrown in the compost.
As she did this, she noticed Beezus working a short distance away from her. "Hey," she called.

Arya had heard about what had happened to the greenhouse, and instead of heading out to the stables like normal, she made a beeline for the greenhouse. Dressed for working in a greenhouse, wand in hand, she stepped into the greenhouse and took in the site. She really should be more shocked that a snowman had done this, but this was Hogwarts.
Summoning two buckets, she made her way over to the closest flowerbed structure, and the buckets soon by her side. She flicked her wand at them, waiting for the buckets to touch ground before flicking her wand at the debris on the structures. Yay for non-verbal practice!
The Puff prefect began painstakingly working on levitating mud into one bucket and debris into the other.

Orr raked as much as she could into the big dust pan she had before heading out to the mental bin next to the compost. She used "Wingardium Leviosa" when she got to an especially tough part lifting the soil.
Luna sweeped her way threw the mud grass and leaves and piled of it wow people did not help much with that!!! she took out her wand ''Accio Bucket,'' AGH! she sweaped it all inside
Then she picked it up and went outside to the compost bin she tapped the bucket untill the piles came out
Selina walked into the Greenhouse. It was devistated. Seriously, didn't they JUST clean all of the greenhouses her last year or the year before? Selina sighed and got to work. She traveled around the room and picked up all of the plant debris first. With each handful she went outside and desposed of it in the compost. Then she went back inside and did it all over again. Following that she swept up all of the mud and put it in the compost.
Once she was all nice and disgusting she was ready to move onto the next task. Sigh. It was for Bentley, she kept repeating in her head, its for Bentley.

Gideon had heard of the mishap in the greenhouse, still a bit amused and in awe of the talk of a snow dragon. Leave it to him to miss something that extraordinary despite the fact that it had been a confrontation between it and students. Nevertheless when the notice had gone out looking for help to fix up the greenhouse and its inhabitants, the fourth year and willingly decided to offer his assistance.
Dressed in his older pair of robes and boots, he made his way down to the greenhouse in question, the recommended gloves still remaining in his pocket till they were needed. And needed they sure would be, Gideon mused as he saw the true extent of the damage. Dear Merlin it really was a mess. He looked to the board where there were instructions on what to do and when he read through them realized there was probably a rhyme to the order they were written.
So slipping on his work gloves, he headed over to an area to start cleaning up plant debris, spotting Selina as she came back in from the compost. "Hey...fancy meeting you here," he mused as he gathered his own batch of dead plants and mud to move it out himself.
Kennedy made his way towards greenhouse three. He heard what happened there and how Professor Bentley had been devastated by it all. He truly felt bad for her and her plants. Stupid snow creatures, really.
He was prepared with his rubber boots and all. Who would have known that his mom would be right in packing him rubber boot? Well, she had said for in case there was a flood then he'd be ready...this counts too, right? Right.
Going over to where the material were, Kennedy took a wheelbarrow, a shovel, gloves, goggles, and some trash bags. He looked over at the board and began making his way to an area where there was a pile of mud. Yuck. He took the shovel and began dumping mud inside the wheelbarrow.
This wasn't SO bad, except for that weird smell. Maybe he should have brought some nose plugs as well.
After filling up the wheelbarrow, he turned to go take the mud he had collected to the back of the greenhouse. All the while, he could hear his boots making squishy sounds.
