Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw
It was officially; the Arithmancy Professor felt for a moment as if she had temporarily taken to lodging in the Gobstones Arena. Trudging down to the court area, she exhaled sharply, as she removed the twin Gobstones bags from her tote. This time, one full of yellow and the other blue. Setting them on the playing table, she waited for players and spectators alike to arrive.
"You all know the rules. This match shall determine who doesn't end up in last place for Gobstones," Hadley spoke quickly. No one wanted their house to be last. "There is a zero tolerance for cheating. Play nice. And let the match begin." With her customary instructions out of the way, she set the Jack Stone carefully in the center of the court and stepped back to supervise. | |

And the players were off.... merely surveying the court for a few moments at first... Sixth year Hufflepuff, Maybelle Ozera, gives her younger housemate a knowing look.... Isobel Vonhue takes the cue ... carefully selecting a yellow stone and rolling it onto the court....
Just as Fifth year Ellie Stone exchanges a glance with Sixth year, Vashti Greenwell.... but the Ravenclaw wait to take their shot.... watching the yellow stone land perfectly within range of the center Jack Stone ... a shot that would be near impossible to outdo.
Hufflepuff gains the first point of the match!

Stone and Greenwell weren't going to stand around for long .... Greenwell gives her redheaded housemate a similar look that Maybelle had given Isobel .... The Ravenclaw Captain takes the cue... eager to get some sort of payback on the rabid badgers .... she rolls...
... And the blue stone speeds quickly along the court, stopping right inside the circular range... No movement from the players in yellow this time. Had they decided one good shot was enough?

After letting their younger housemates take the first moves, now it was time for the sixth years to show off some. Vashti rolls her blue stone... which admittedly is a great roll.... it keeps good time.... even as the yellow one thrown by Maybelle also makes its way on the court, ... both rolling toward the center...
.... which to get their first....? It's close, but then they roll to a stop.... both inside the circle... the yellow one though, a smidgen has stopped just a smidgen closer to the Jack Stone than the blue!

Disliking being outdone, Ms Greenwell tries again, putting on a game-face that is very familiar to those who have seen the sixth year on the Quidditch Pitch.... she carefully articulates where her blue stone needs to travel.... and then ... she releases it onto the court.... the blue stone travels quickly, but precisely to a spot well within the range...
Can Hufflepuffs outdo it? Apparently not. Ravenclaw takes the first point of the next round.

Maybelle Ozera makes another effort ... she releases her yellow stone onto the court... except this time, it rolls off course ... over to the opposing edge of the court, rather than towards the middle. Jumping on the fault, Ms Greenwell takes another shot... releasing her blue stone, it rolls perfectly within the range...
Just about to call a timeout, first year, Minerva Wheatborn decides she can "make up" for Ms Ozera's fault... she rolls and her yellow stone rolls to a slow stop just outside the circle. "Penalty to Hufflepuff!" Hadley called. Of course Ravenclaws would have won the round anyway. "Ravenclaw wins the point and the second round, thus tying the match!"
OOC1: Answers from the same house posted 4 or more minutes apart will be penalized, where the opposing team will automatically be awarded the point for that question.
OOC2: Match will continue at ~11am EST (aka 4pm GMT) tomorrow

After a relaxing break, Professor Hadley nodded at the players to carry on. The match was certainly getting interesting now with the two houses tied for rounds, though Ravenclaw led in points. But the match was still young.

It was almost as if the students had forgotten how to play... but no... a moment later, Minerva Wheatborn, first year Hufflepuff, took the initiative for her house... she rolls her yellow stone onto the court... it's off to a good start, until Vashti Greenwell of Ravenclaw rolls her blue stone.
The blue and yellow stones race toward the middle.... toward each other... and then BUMP each other, knocking each other back off course and away from their goal. (Correct answer: foreseeing/fortunetelling, Centaur, and Seeing)

The two students disliked having their stones bounce off one another.. which is why, Vashti took great effort in releasing her stone at the right speed this time.... a slow, but steady rate, her blue stone led the way and nested right inside the circle.
Ms Wheatborn wasn't giving up though... she too rolled her stone... her yellow stone traveling quickly, but then slowed to a stop.... right beside the blue one... right outside of it...
