Ella sat up straight in her seat and with her hand still high up in the air she answered Proffesor glass' question. "Professor I am Ella Wood, first year." Then realising that her hand was still soaring high in the air she pulled it down sharply and clasped her quill really hard.

Toni looked from student to student... why was she nervous, they were just saying names. But it made her feel extremely nervous. But what if she said something wrong. What if Toni forgot her own name?!

She'd be Laughed at!

As the students kept going down the rows, it seemed to her as if it was picking up speed... Within a few minutes the line reached her. Name, and Year. Come on Toni!

"Toni Constantinescu" she said trying her best to speak up a little. "Third Year" And she'd have to wait until she did her OWLs to know if she'd even be able to, unless it was different here.

Once she finished, she lowered herself a little, hoping the professor wouldn't pick on her for being to quiet like Dr. Grayson had in her first Defense class in Bogdan.

But teachers here seemed slightly nicer. For Now.

Tori's mouth dropped open when the professor click-clacked into the room and abruptly, RUDELY, took away 30 POINTS from HER HOUSE. How DAAAAAARE she. And how DAAAAAAARE those.... peoples who FAULT THIS WAS.

She was going to kick them hard in the shins when she found the two responsible for this point loss!!!!

"My name is Victoria Bunbury, professor," the redheaded girl answered sullenly when it was her turn. "I'm a third year Slytherin. And I'm taking your class because it is required."

She turned up her nose and crossed her arms, GLARING at the evil points take-awayer.

Sweet Merlin! This woman as scarier than a bear being woken from hibernation. Sure the older students were acting like first years, and Em was always a little bit happy to see other houses lose points, but this was ridiculous. She had never seen somebody lose that many points at once. Glass huh? Seemed like shattered glass that you had to walk lightly around. Gulping when it came time for her introduction, she started. "E-em- Emmaleigh S-swynford, M-ma'am. F-fourth year." Em was unsurprised that her stutter had returned. Professor Glass was more terrifying than Lafay ever was.

Chelsea raised her hand to be polite and not shout out. "Nice to meet you Professor. I'm Chelsea Charm first year Slytherin. I've always been interested in defense!" she said. But wait 30 points! There was no way Slytherin would win house cup this year...

Nessie stared wide eyed at the woman as she took points away. She wasn't exactly paying attention but she was sure that they deserved it. When the names came around to her she spoke quite timidly.

"I - I'm Nessie Masen. I'm a first year Gryffindor and I'm taking this class because I know that the world is not such a nice place at times and I want to be able to defend myself." After she said her piece she shyly slid down in her desk hiding from the wandering eyes that dared linger.

Her eyes popped as the professor took 30 points away from Slytherin. She was really starting to not like Hogwarts. Everyone yelled at her and then the professors took points away.

She shrank lower in her chair, not having to work hard to disappear. She was only 4 feet tall after all. But she raised her hand anyways, "Harlow Riddle. And I'm a first year and this is required for me." she said in a small voice.

Ronnie smiled at the Professor, it was the first real smile since her dad died, she loved Defense Against the Dark Arts. It was one of her favorite classes, She looked up and waited her turn to say her name and year.

"Veronica...or rather Ronnie Sopps." She said when it was finally her turn. She stood up and she also gave her nick-name as well. She rarely went by her real name. She certianly didn't like the name Veronica. "Fifth year Hufflepuff." Ronnie finished her little speech and then sat back down and looked around to the rest of the room to see what everyone else's names were.

WHAT?! Thirty thirty thirty.... NOEZ! She felt stabbed a little "Hello proffesor, my name is Josephine Parker" she said calmly, trying tp hide her sadness and anger, her eyes a very dark shade of olive green.

Ariella's eyes widened at the new professor. 30 points from Gryffindor? Well now that was interesting. It wasn't a very good first impression from the new teacher. She sighed as her hopes drowned. Already 30 points behind and it was only the beginning of term?

"Hello!" Ariella wiped away the look on her face before she introduced herself. She continued with a smile. "I'm Ariella Adler - second year Gryffindor. I'm not really sure if I want to pursue with NEWT level classes yet, but since DADA is one of my favorite subjects, it definitely could be a possibility." She looked down at the floor. That probably made her sound like a know-it-all.

Aaaand there was the professor...and she was taking points from Gryffindor and Slytherin. A lot of points too. Well so long as it wasn't from Ravenclaw, Vashti was okay with it.

She was also okay with waiting for a little while as the other students gave their names and years and whether they were taking the class at NEWT level and why. She needed to quickly think of a sufficient answer for why she was taking this course at NEWT level since she didn't really have one - at least none that had to do with some lifelong goal of choosing a career that required the subject, which was what she assumed Professor Glass would be expecting - but too soon it was her turn. Merlin, how did everyone else get through theirs so fast? But she raised her hand anyway since she doubted she could just pass it off to the next person. "I'm Vashti Greenwell, Professor, and I'm in my sixth year. And...I guess I've decided to pursue Defense at NEWT level because I did receive an OWL in the subject, and though I'm still not sure what I want to do after I graduate, Defense is useful regardless of whether it's required in a career or not."

SHE HAD TAKEN THIRTY POINTS FROM GRYFFINDOR AND SLYTHERIN?

Sammy wanted to hug her. Whatever her name was. She hadn't read anything that would tell her what the professor's name was, so how would she know? Oh okay. NOW Sammy knew her name. Sarani? That's what Sammy thought she heard, but goodness knows if that's what she actually said. But she had caught the last name, Glass. Simple enough to remember.

They were doing introductions? That was exciting. The blonde was liking this teacher more and more by the second, even if she was a little scary. "I'm Sammy- well, Sammantha but I prefer Sammy- Star" she said happily. What else did they have to say? Oh right. "Hufflepuff and I'm in my fifth year" she said with a small nod. "And it's a pleasure to meet you Professor Glass" What? She liked the teacher, at least better than Lafay. And she always told people that it was a pleasure to meet them, even if it wasn't.

"Hello, I'm Katie Black and I'm a first year Hufflepuff." she said just loudly enough for the teacher to hear.

Wist Ebony fealt like protesting at the point deduction. THIRTY POINTS? This was Wist's first lesson at Hogwarts, and she wondered if all teachers were that strict. The Durmstrang ones were kind of strict though... Wist was still getting used to the point system thing.
To the question, she raised her hand and replied "Hello Professor Glass. I am Wist Ebony, this is my first year at Hogwarts but I transferred from Durmstrang." She was only a first year, but she responded to the last question "I WANT to pursue Defence at Newt level when I am a seventh year."

Marilyn, of course, was stunned. What had just happened? The camera had been tucked away, the scene totally moved past from the taking of the picture.

She eyed the Professor, wanting to glare and give the older woman a piece of her mind...BUT not wanting to lose points. Marilyn was sure it had been she that had lost the points. She'd never lost points before...and she thought she might have a panic attack.

O.o I'm going to have to do homework and participate...GAH!

*cough* "My name is Marilyn Force, Seventh Year. I got an O with my OWL and decided to take it a step further."

...Stupid woman, stupid glass EVERYWHERE, STUPID POINTS.

Alex couldn't help but smirk a bit when Gryffindor and Slytherin BOTH lost points. That didn't change the fact that Hufflepuff was still in the negatives but...still. Glad he wasn't one of those two houses!

He raised his hand and cleared his throat, hoping against hope that his voice didn't crack. "My name is Alexander Greingoth, I'm a Hufflepuff and a 3rd year," he explained. So yeah, no NEWT level or anything.

As soon as Professor Glass swept into the room, Willow's stomach suddenly errupted with butterflies! She was so excited but she couldn't hid the nerves she'd just got either...
Standing up out of her chair, she greeted Professor Glass with one of her charming smiles.
"Hello Professor! I'm Willow Draconis and I'm a first year!" she said, before taking her seat again.

As the professor swept in, Stella found herself unconsciously sitting up straighter, not that she'd been slouching before. They would have gotten in trouble at Beauxbatons if they were caught looking lazy, after all, or anything less than ladylike. And something about this professor made her feel the same way. Maybe it was the fact that the first thing Professor Glass had done upon entry was give someone a detention, along with taking yet more points away from Gryfindor and Slytherin. It made her happy she was a Ravenclaw, at least.

"Good day, Professor Glass," she said, standing up once it was apparently her turn. "My name is Stella Gardiner, and I'm currently a fifth year Ravenclaw although I previously attended Beauxbatons. I hope to be able to pursue NEWT level Defense, once I've taken my OWLs, because this is one of my favorite subjects." Once she'd finished, she paused a moment, as if she was curious if she needed permission to take a seat again, but then she quietly sat back down to let the next student have their moment. This was definitely not going to be an easy class, but then she'd rather it not be.

Sophie stood up to introduce herself. "My name is Sophie Longwood and I am a first year." she quickly sat down.

Violet looked up at the teacher nearly jumping when she came punishing students. "I…I am Violet Evans." she squeaked out in her mousy voice. "I still need to see if I would like to pursue this class through my seventh year but it seems interesting enough and you can never be to careful with your defences."

William turned away from August and looked forward as Professor Glass addressed the class. He had absolutely no idea what NEWTs were, besides being a type of lizard. Feeling pretty sure the Professor was not talking about lizards, Will decided to answer the other questions she had asked.
"William MacGhilleseathenaich, professor," he said. "I am a first-year Ravenclaw. A-and I don't know what NEWTs are but I like Defense Against the Dark Arts!" He lowered his hand.

Selina was ready to kill Josh! The term had just begun and he was already causing house points to the Gryffindors. Ugh, if a Professor was not around the fiesty little Gryffindor would show Josh how far her beater bat could go up...

The lesson had begun. She had asked all of them their names and years so Selina rose her hand and said, "Hello Ma'am. I'm Selina Skylar. Third Year Gryffindor..." She said her house name with pointed eyes at Josh. He was the one, after all, who had just gotten points taken away from that very house.

Elsie laughed, that was the sort of thing that would normally happen to her, the reason why she always had spares. "I do actually!" Elsie said handing over to Willow the quill the had just pulled out of her bag. "Have I missed much yet?" Elsie said looking around the classroom not quite sure of what was going on.

Hello Professor. My name is Nathaniel Stone, I'm a first year Ravenclaw.

"Hello Professor, My name is Zhenya Burton, I'm a first year, and I'm not sure if I will pursue DADA at the NEWT level yet." Zhenya said, a bit pink-faced
