Tristan strode into the room, and hung a rune pendulum in the middle of the class. Fun he thought to himself. Maybe he's quit the ministry and teach... The wizarding university in Oslo was looking for a new Runes Professor...

Giving Caroline one last glare she turned her attention back to Carter. Totally changing her mind about the question she was going to ask, she instead asked... "Am I going to have the strength NOT to reach over and punch HER in the face?" Cousin or not, the girl was about to feel Marie's wrath. Reaching into the bag she grabbed the first rune her hand touched.
Hmm, Isa it is.
Handing it over to Carter she grinned. "So, what do you make of this?"
And what was the professor talking about. Carter was the only funny thing in class right now.

Carter looked up and smiled at Caroline. "Almost." he said. "I still need to read Marie's and have her read me." he said.
He then heard the Professor. So he had good hearing. Maybe he could go around listening to people and get better at English? He hid a smirk behind the palm of his hand. The Professor was right. It wasn't funny. It was hilarious.
Anyway. Back to the assignment. He blinked at the question. Really? He took the rune from Marie. "Isa." he said identifying it. He grinned. "It means you need to seek inner clarity." he said with a matter-of-fact nod. "Marie. I think the runes are trying to tell you something about your anger issues." He sat the rune in front of her. Maybe it would inspire her.
"Alright. My turn." he said reaching over toward her rune bag. "Will this summer go well?" he asked. He then plucked out a rune. He then held the rune (Jera), which rested in his palm, out toward Marie.

Simon waited patiently to see what was done, smiling softly and nodding in understanding of Evelyn's question. At least it seemed like it was going to be a simple enough answer to try and interpret. Seeing the laguz rune pulled out, the seventh year turned to the meanings he needed.Though if I remember correctly laguz has to do about water, he mused absently to himself til he found what he was looking for and skimming through it.
"Hmm....based on the question and the given meanings, I see it either as meaning that you're gonna go to travel overseas or going through some changes in your life," he answered as he finally looked back up at his partner.
" Yrd, you are right, too" Wiliam told Zara. Wiliam waits for more instructions from the professor.
"Ohh! I have more to add," Zara suddenly said. "When reversed, the rune can also mean some kind of failure to like manage or monopolize something given to you. Like wasting an inheritance, taking for granted love from a person and all that."

Do the homework together? "We should," Helena agreed, smiling. She had no problems when it came to runes, but it will definitely be fun, right? "I suppose I will see you later, then," she said, when she finished packing her notes and whatever else she had there.
With a wave towards Eino, Helena stood up and made her way to the door. "Goodbye, professor," she added, then left the classroom.

Pushing the rune aside she listened to Carter's question. Pfft, he was going to have a rotten summer if he insisted in spending it with that poor imitation of a Slytherin standing there glaring at her. Of course that was her talking, not the runes... yet.
Taking the rune from him as he held it out to her she grinned when she seen what it was. "Jera. Interesting rune there." Glancing through her book for a moment... just to make sure she gave a correct reading here she smiled at what she read. "Well, it seems there is going to be a some changes for you... sudden setbacks... conflict... all due to bad timing." Well of course there would be those things in his summer if he was spending it with Caroline. "Maybe you better make other summer plans now, before it's too late." Cuz yeah, she would hate to see there be trouble in paradise.

The smile on Carter's face vanished as his rune was read. "Conflict...? Bad... timing...?" he said quietly snatching the rune back from her. He flipped it over, upside down, and shook it as if excepting a hidden message to randomly appear.
When he realized nothing of the sort was going to happen, his face whitened a few shades. Oh no. Maybe his parents were right! "I've... I've got to go." he said to no one in particular... but he did assume that both Marie and Caroline were listening.

"Alright, so you've got a reversed Uruz," she said, but she was sure Kurumi already knew that. The girl knew everything. Well, except how to interpret an assignment from a Runes professor, it seemed. Sierra glanced at her textbook, spending a few moments reading over what it said about Uruz.
"So it says here," she said, pointing to the book, "that a reversed Uruz means weakness, sickness, and...well, ignorance." She looked up at Kurumi. Surely the girl wasn't ignorant--she ate words, for Merlin's sake! "Oh, and also brutality and violence." She down at the book again then back up at Kurumi. "I might would stay inside for a few days if I were you..."
Caroline ingored Marie. nodding when Carter said that they needed to finish. "I'll just wait at the front of the room then." What harm would be in that, she was going to try the nice girl part and see how that when. She watched as the finished up the assignment. She didn't watch in a jealous manner, just a somewhat curious way. She noticed that Carter had got a bit freaked out and started grabbing everything and headed to the door. "Carter!" She called more of less out of concern and quickly followed him out of the classroom.

In general, reversed runes never were a good thing to begin with. After all, life wasn't meant to lead in reverse, right? Life only had one gear which was forwards. Not that this really had anything to do with runes.
Anyway, back to what Sierra was saying about the reading. Although, Kurumi was beginning to wish that she hadn't paid attention. Where were those earmuffs she put on whenever people were discussing things that made her cheeks flush or her head cock to the side. Eyes as wide as an owl's, Kurumi merely looked at Sierra.
Clearly, her research was more dangerous than she had originally thought.
"So...I guess that is a no then..." she said slowly as she put the rune back in the bag and slouched in her chair a bit.

He was asking about his sister, NOT his summer with Caroline? "Carter, what's wrong?" She asked feeling a bit concerned now when she heard him mumble something about Anya and his parents being right.
Not getting an answer from him though she quickly threw her things in her bag and followed him out of the class only to find that he was nowhere in sight by the time she got out to the corridor.
Maybe if she ran she could catch up to him before he got to his common room.

Repeating the question in her mind, she stared at the seventh year Gryffindor, not really knowing what that question was all about. Will he feel himself again anytime soon? What was that supposed to mean? Issues? Was he numb or something?
Looking down at the rune, Evelyn took a deep breath before looking back up to Simon. Algiz. Seriously though...what in the world did that question mean? "So ummm, Algiz represents growth and fast development." She really didn't want to look in her book. That was time consuming. "But, protection also comes into play with the rune, so no harm could come. Sooo...I suppose you'll go through some changes," Probably not physical. Hehe...eh. "Whether good or bad, I don't know, but in the end, you'll be...safe and sound. Probably be back to your normal self in no time."
