Default CoMC Rules and Guidelines

The rules exist for you to follow them, and trust me when I say that they will be your best guide and friend during lessons. Before partaking in class, please familiarize yourself with them; laid back as Professor MacFusty is, he does expect you to at least try to follow all the guidelines he's set for you.
+If you haven't done so already, please go over here and take some time to check out the almighty Snitchseeker rules and here to read the General Classroom ones. And if you have, well, it won't hurt if you read them again, right?

+Respect is a must. If you expect to receive respect, then I hope you are giving it, too. Professor MacFusty is patient and understands that teenagers like to think that no one understands them, that they have so many emotions they just don't know how to express them, and thus can be very sensitive and unnecessarily harsh. He knows this because--surprise, surprise!--he was a teenager, too, at some point. It is because of this that he's willing to let rudeness and lack of respect from the same person slide, only one time. If your attitude does not change, however, your rudeness will force him to request you to stay after class for him to educate you in the fine yet simple art of having Manners and Common Sense, docking points from your respective house or just give you a good old detention.

+Remember Rule #2 about Respect? You better Respect the Magical Creatures, too, or you'll find yourself in trouble. Professor MacFusty will not let you mistreat one of his Magical Creatures under any circumstances. So unless you wish to be in detention for the entire term, don't do it, and treat them with the same respect you treat your parents and elders in general.

+The Care of Magical Creatures Class is a place to learn about--yes, you guessed it!--Care of Magical Creatures. Meaning: Unless Professor MacFusty has given you permission to do some mild chatting among yourselves about your super awesome significant other, your new perfume, Witch Weekly, Quidditch or anything else that doesn't live, breathe, feel and yet is not human (that is a Magical Creature, of course) you are not to do it. This is a place for learning, and he expects you to not engage your friends/classmates in mindless chit chat about things that do not concern the topic that is being discussed in class.

+Tardiness isn't recommended, so avoid being late, too. If you are, you may just end up picking up Abraxan excrement after class, or just loosing points. Don't announce that you're late; just post and act as if you've been there the whole time--unless, of course, your character is the sort to be late for class, so you may go ahead and do it.

+Raising your hand before answering is a good idea. Cheating or copying someone else's answer, however, is not. If your answer is like someone else's, make sure to use your own words to describe it. Plagiarizing someone else is not only uncool, but also very rude.

+Please do not clutter the lesson threads with Out of Character (OOC) Comments. One short message I can overlook, but really, if you've got something to tell me or anyone else, just peruse the nifty PM system.

+Unless Professor MacFusty says so, you may not eat during class. Chewing gum isn't allowed either, because that will rotten your teeth, and no one wants rotten teeth. Incidetally, bringing your pets to class is not a good idea, not unless Professor MacFusty says so.

+Because this is Care of Magical Creatures, injuries are very nearly unavoidable. Minor injuries such as small burns, cuts, getting bitten, and scraped elbows and knees are fine. Broken bones or anything major, however, isn't. I know what you're going to say--Draco Malfoy was injured by Buckbeak during Hagrid's first Care of Magical Creatures Class! I'm aware of that, yes, and I already have an answer for you: Draco Malfoy wouldn't have gotten injured had he followed instructions. And in any case, the injury was actually not as bad as he made it out to be. So please don't let your character acquire some fatal injury during class.

+If you've made this far (and really, you should have), all I have to tell you is to HAVE FUN. I know this looks like a lot, but it really isn't. So please, for the last time, follow the rules.

Wowza!

+Your homework and final must be sent to me. You may use the lovely Private Message system to do this.
+Homework will always be assigned after class, and it will usually be posted as soon as the lesson comes to an end. You'll be able to find it in the Announcements thread, or in the respective Notice Board of your common room.
+I will give you a deadline for you to submit your homework. If you sent it to me after it, it will not be graded and no points will be given.
+Don't send me the same homework multiple times. I will just ignore the rest and grade the first one if you do. If you make a mistake and only noticed it after sending the homework, PM me right away (with a different title) and we'll work something out. This, however, can be avoided if you proofread and check your homework twice before hitting the 'send' button.
+Copying someone else's homework is out of the question. Doing copy/paste from Wikipedia or other websites is something you should avoid, too. Please research and use your own words when answering; there is nothing more delightful to me than reading a perfectly In Character answer.
+Sending me a homework that threatens to be as long as Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is not a guarantee that you will get all the points. Quality > Quantity.
+When submitting your homework, please make sure to follow these guidelines:
*Titling the PM with the correct assignment is a must. Example: Care of Magical Creatures Homework #1.
*You must include your Username, Member ID, character's name, and house at the top of your PM. Your Member ID can be found by going to your profile page and looking at the URL; your Member ID are the numbers at the very end of it. I can easily look for your Member ID myself, but it would be much appreciated if you included it.
+If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to PM me.
