Luin walked over near the gargoyles. She didn't want to be near here but she needed to find all of the items for her potions final. Of course Lafay would give them an assignment that would require them to go all over the castle to find what they needed. She looked around, and quickly found the item she needed next to the gargoyles. They were quite recognizable, thank goodness. She then hurried away, off to find her next item.

Kita walked along the second floor, biting her tongue. She didn't have a lot of times and yet things were getting harder. Would she find something here? She certainly hoped so!

She walked by the gargoyles, secretly glad that she had never been sent to the headmaster's office. Noticing something on the floor, she shook her head and muttered, "Why can't people clean up after themselves?". But then something hit her. Gasping, she doubled back and knelt down to look at the item closely. "No way!" she said. Picking up the item, she placed it in her bag and smiled. "Not long to go now!" she said, skipping along the rest of the corridor.

Having made her way back to the castle from the grounds, Vashti looked a little on the ground and first floors but hadn't found anything. She'd double check though after she was done with the rest, and if she hadn't found them all by then.

On the second floor, she started around the entrance to the Headmaster's office - and spotted the items immediately. Whoo! This one was easy. She picked up one and put it into her bag. She then left, once more crossing off a clue.

Caroline had never been as close to the headmaster office as she was now. She was half temped to go see him, but she was still on her potions misson. She searched at entire second floor already. She was sure that something she needed was going to be on this floor it had to be.

She walked by the gargoyles. She felt something hit her foot and as she walked. She picked it up. This just maybe what she needed. She reread her list. Yep. This was exactly the thing she was looking for. She stuck it in her bag. She hoped that since she almost stepped on it that it was still okay to be used. She walked on looking at the paper. She thought she solved a clue and headed to the next place.

Having searched two floors now, Cherry GIGGLED. Soooo exciting. She skidded to a halt in front of the BIG gargoyles and loooooked at them.

So biiggg!! THEY RULED!!!!

Then she looked down and spotted THE ITEM. SHAINY. She laughed-ed and scooped one up in her pretty blue hanky. Prettydragonprofessormadam sure seemed to have a lot of these little thingsez!!!

Cherry put one in her bag and raaaaaaaaan off.

Alright, they have been up two floors and not one potions related thing could be found. Anywhere! They should've just grabbed a spoon from the Great Hall and stuck it in the back. It could stir the potion.

"Maybe we should have went outside." she grumbled, arms crossed as she turned a corner into the new corridor. They'd probably have more luck finding stuff outside then inside. But, still, they had five more floors to check. If there was nothing there, Lafay was getting all the items back burned.

GAH!

Marie was like a baby duck, following her around like she was it's mother or something. It didn't matter if Destiny took one teeny, tiny step to the left, Marie was right there behind her. She kept turning around, hoping that she would sorta..disappear, but nope. She was still behind her and Destiny was sure she was staring daggers at the back of her head.

Her head hurt.

And her hand hurt from carrying the bag of whatever was inside.

Stopping at the ugly stone gargoyles, Destiny turned to Evelyn. "Or maybe you should go get your eyes checked." It was obvious that Marie put a HUGE damper on her good mood.

Marie followed Destiny like a hawk. She wasn't letting the girl out of her sight for even a second. She knew if she did then her friend would have a face full of chocolate and she was not letting that happen. Not until that tenth item had been found. Then the girl could eat all the chocolate she wanted. Unless Ev stopped her then. "Stop your complaining Ev, you're starting to sound like Destiny here." Okay, maybe she wasn't that bad but geesh, they had just started this hunt. They had a long ways to go until they found all the items needed.

When Ev stopped at the stone gargoyles Marie looked at her. "Oh good idea Ev, going up to Headmaster Hottie... erm I mean Tate's office." Pushing Destiny forward she stopped when she seen what was on the floor around the gargoyles. "Look, I do believe we found what we were looking for." Bending over she picked one up and put it in her bag.

CRUD!

No visiting the HOT Headmaster today.

Two items down, onl eight more to go.

Pfft. "My eyes are just fine." she stated in a matter of fact tone. And...and...SCOFF! We do not sound like Destiny! You get a glare, Marie. A glaaare. A glare that turned into a rather disgusted look at the mention of Headmaster "Hottie".

Scoffing quietly once again, the irritated Slytherin girl turned to continue back down the corridor when Marie's words stopped her. Eh?

Glancing over her shoulder, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she stared at the objects. What in the world were those doing there? Unfolding her now rather wrinkled list, she re-read the clues before shrugging her shoulders. Well, it was one on the list. And...there weren't many left. Gah! How many people have been here already?

Taking one, she dropped it in her bag before glancing at the other two girls. "Two down then." A million more to go.

What was this? Pick on Destiny day?

Merlin! Destiny did not get that memo. If she did, she would have been prepared and stayed in her dorm all day. Sure, she had a final to take, but Lafay would understand, right? She knew what it was like to get picked on! She would have mumbled something about how she was not complaining, she was whining, but Marie had mentioned Headmaster Tate being Headmaster Hottie. "When did he change his name to that?" she asked, quite seriously.

It was probably in the same memo she missed about Pick on Destiny day.

Shaking the image of Headmaster Tate being hot out of her head, she moved over to the things her friends were picking up. What the? What are they? Bending down for a closer look, Destiny used the sleeve of her robes to pick on up and put it in her bag. "Lafay asks too much of us."

Picking up those things. Eww!

Marie couldn't help but roll her eyes at Destiny when she asked about Tate changing his name.

Really Destiny... are you that naive? "Didn't you hear? He changed it when he took over as the Defense professor." Yep, that was when Marie started calling him that. The first time she walked into the DADA classroom and seen him sitting there. Mmm... how she did love going to that class now.

Once Destiny and Evelyn had put the item in their bags though she knew it was time to move on. "Okay, off to the next floor." Well hopefully that's where they needed to go. It would totally suck if they missed something on this floor and had to come back later to find it.

Bwahahahaha! Alright, that lifted her mood some.

Snickering quietly, the Slytherin girl followed after Marie to the next floor, shoulders shaking as she tried not to burst out laughing. Yea, Headmaster "Hottie" probably would want to know about his new last name change as well. Then again...he probably didn't.

Swinging her bag by her side, her giggles finally subsided, but once she glanced over to Destiny, she couldn't help them anymore.

Psssh.

Destiny didn't care if Professor Headmaster Tate DID change his name to Hottie. She was not going to call him that, no way. It was just weird and it felt all wrong. She felt she would need to brush her teeth fifty times if those words left her mouth. Eww.

Not understanding WHY Evelyn was laughing, she followed behind her friends. That's right, Marie. Destiny was behind her.

And she was shoving chocolate in her mouth.

Inching along the second floor corridor, Ivory rushed over to a random alcove for the umpteenth time eyes searching for any small tiny clue as to where another item on her list was. She'd been up and down the ground floor and the first floor without so much as a crumb of potions related things.

But wait...what was that?! Seeing slight multiple shadows at the bottom of the headmaster's staircase Ivory rushed over, crouching down to get a better look. Maybe it was something black? Perhaps something poisonous? Oooh, maybe something to make her fly!

Squinting down at the small things, she let out a frustrated sigh at what could only be Hogwartian dust bunnies. Gah."

Stretching out her legs in front of her in defeat, Ivory leaned back against the base of a stone gargoyle trying to cheer herself up. It was barely the second floor after all she only had to check the next 5 floors...and the grounds...and the greenhouses...and the...

Duh-dun-dun-dun Yup, a little tune always cheered her up. She was not going to freak out over the multitude of places she still had to check. So what if it might take her hours, it was a welcome fun...right? Trying to block out worrisome thoughts of failing finals, Ivory duh-dummed a little louder.

Alright so her duh-dummin was probably a little too loud but who was going to hear her- the gargoyles? She doubted that duh-dum was the password to get up to the headmaster's office anyway. "You don't mind me do you?" Bringing up a hand to pat the gargoyle's clawed feet, she recoiled at the feel of something...not quite stone like. Thoughts swimming with creepy crawly possibilities, Ivory scrambled up shaking her hand. Holding it up to the light she examined it. Okay, so missing fingers no burns or bites or anything out of the ordinary. Well not on her hand at least. Poking one of the multiple pellets at the gargoyle's feet, she nimbly gripped one between her thumb and forefinger and took a cautious sniff.

Hmm...

It certainly looked out of the ordinary and potion-y. In fact, it sort of looked like a-

Gasping in realization, Ivory examined it more carefully. Yup, it didn't just look like it. It was! A little giddy with discovery, she popped it into the bag, and brought out her parchment ready to scratch off another item. Maybe it wouldn't take her that long after all.

Selina was sure that she was missing something. She had circled this corridor several times. The Headmaster was too important to just let the Potions mistress glaze him over. Then again maybe she knew the students would be obsessed with the location and waste time on his pointless position.

Defeated Selina sat by the gargoyles. "Hey."

The thing maybe nodded back, maybe it didn't. All she knew was her eyes were glued to the ground. How could she have been dumb enough to think something was-

Wait, what was that. At the feet of the gargoyle was something rather peculiar. But she knew that anywhere...

"Yes!" In victory Selina grabbed what she needed and headed off. Whilst she ran she turned back to the gargoyle and yelled, "Sorry about stealing that. You won't miss it though!"

Halfway. That meant he still had an awful lot of finding to do. And now he was inside, it wasn't half as fun. There were more nooks and crannies to look in, and more of them to be empty. And it was harder to sneakily follow people, as it was more obvious.

Meh.

He stopped for a moment by the gargoyles, to think about what might be left on the list from the clues. His mind didn't want to think though, and was instead distracted by the figures of the gargoyles themselves. Spike liked them, something satisfyingly scary but also quite cool about them.

And even more cool when he looked down. He picked it up, and tossed it gently in his hand. It took a minute to realise exactly what it was. What was about to be a sigh turned into a smile, and he was ready to go for some more searching.

Halle was back at the stone gargoyles, with her camera and shoulder bag on hand. Last time she was here, something odd was going on so she just left and decided she would come back later. But, it seemed that there was just as chaotic as it was before. Shje would still wait to see of she could get a chance this time. She just hoped she wouldn't go into a random caughing fit and have to leave before anyone noticed.

Nika walked in and looked around. She was able to find the item very fast this time because she knew exactly what she was looking for. She had seen these things in her care of magical creatures class. She had to dig one out of goat poop.

Rex searched and searched for one of the last objects he needed for the Potions final. How did it get here? He decided to take it and get out of the Headmaster's office as quickly as possible. He placed the object in the bag and rushed off, only one more to go!

Having found four of the items he must find, Cedric couldn't be more jolly. Of course, there were five items that are yet to find but being a happy Hufflepuff that he certainly is, Cedric was optimistic he would find greater than sooner those must-find five items. As he walked in quick paces, his eyes couldn't resist not take a second look, a third look, even at the Headmaster's office. Its ugly guards... there was something at their feet! Terrific!

Performing a skip or two, he was face to face with the Gargoyles. He took the potions-thing and crossed out a number on his parchment. "You know, boy," Cedric started, addressing the stone gargoyle, of course. "I always wondered why your face is scrunched up like that, so drastically. Such inhumanity in this world."

With that, he departed hurriedly, out to search for the other items.

Treyen was not exactly tired yet, but it would've been a lot nicer if Lafay had given them more clues about where to find all these items...which he knew to be everywhere around the Potions Laboratory.

He'd stopped in front of those gargoyles and begun wondering what had happened to DADA. They only had a few lessons this term.

Maybe that Ikenna Gevrik had something to do with it.

Sigh.

The boy was walking away from the gargoyles, but then retraced his steps and took a better look at them. THAT didn't belong there!

GRIN.

He took it and placed the most valuable of all items inside the bag. He could head back to the Dungeons now. He only had five items, that was fairly good, no?

As Kyle left the office area she turned as she noticed something was off.

"You don't belong there" she told the item with a laugh as she picked it up, and placed it into her bag. "Thanks you little pile of needless things, you might come in handy." She placed it into her bag and turned to walk off so much less things to worry about now. She thought grinning.

Now she had three things left. And where to find them, she thought as she walked off.

It was no understatement to say that he had come to the stone gargoyles in better moods. But then he couldn't really say he ever came to Tate's office to simply look around. Doing a scavenger hunt around the Headmaster's area seemed awkward and extremely out of place. In some ways more unnerving than the fourth floor corridor had been. But then, at the same time, it was a place where he felt a little bit safer, though apprehension twisted in his gut anew.

Even just looking at the gargoyles, he was reminded of how much fear there was throughout the semester, how much uncertainty there was. How much there still was. His mind went to the Foe glass in Tate's room, his brow furrowing in concern. Why couldn't the gargoyles move, be animated to protect in the way they guarded? He might have felt better if he saw them moving, if he saw their eyes ever watchful rather than still and silent, almost empty in their composition. In many ways it was as unnerving as looking into the spirit room.

Another shiver rolled down his back, setting him to shake his head and cast his eyes away from the gargoyles. At least they let his attention wander, at least they allowed him the choice of seeing, of looking into the unknown. It was that knowledge, that choice that had him relaxing a little, bringing a slight fraction of comfort to his mind. It was just enough to release his hold on the patronus, the otter slipping away into streams of light and then simply air as he moved towards the stone statues.

His eyes went down to their feet as he came upon them, skimming briefly over the Bezoar's set out. Tucking his wand away, he placed one hand on the gargoyle and let it slide down the smooth stone as he squatted. He didn't pick up the Bezoar immediately, caught instead in a still silence, as if the mentality of the stone guardians had transferred to him, compelling him to listen, to be still. Blood was prominent on the back of his free hand and coating his fingers, the gash from the owlery raw and sore. Not as sore however, as the knowledge that this would probably be his last time in the Headmaster's area. Not as painful as the knowledge that things were changing. For better or for worse.

With an empty mind, he drew his hand from the gargoyle and retrieved one of the Bezoar's, placing it in the bag with the rest of the ingredients. Then, without a glance back, he moved out of the waiting area. He would say goodbye later. Just not now. Now, was too soon.
