Finlay frowned as he watched Neptune's actions. Did she think something had changed between them? He shrugged it off, she would've said something if she had cared that much. It was a shame really.

Oh. That. Finlay looked into her eyes. He couldn't lie to her. Not Neptune; one of his best friends. Finn shook his head. "I wanted to wait till we had left school..." So that Jimmy wouldn't get detention if he decided to hit him. "I am going to tell him....." He paused for a second. "Soon."

Neptune nodded to that.... not that she agreed, exactly, but she understood what he was saying. Even without him saying the detention thought out loud, Neptune was sure she got it. "It's just... It's none of my business. I'm sorry for asking."

Really.

She was sorry for asking? Finlay shook his head, smiling at her. "Ask all your like Tune." He reached across, taking her hand, and squeezing it. "You're my best friend...." Yeah. That was probably enough to explain it. Neptune and himself just kind of connected in that way. They were the prince and princess of ravenclaw, they were linked. Obviously. "I don't mind telling you these things."

"Then why Marie? You could have any girl, Finny...." Neptune took his hand and squeezed it between both of hers. She was sort of saying it wrong and she shook her curls to erase what she had said. "I mean.... I mean do you REALLY like her? It's just..."

"I like Marie." She was pretty. Finlay kind of frowned though. Why did everyone think what he had done was bad? It wasn't like he'd stolen her from Jimmy. The pair had been split up. "It's just what Neptune?" He looked at her, willing her to tell him what she thought. Exactly what she was thinking. He wanted to know the truth.

Neptune pressed Finny's hand to her face. "It's just what I said before. What about your face? What about.... what about Jimmy?" Pause. Pause. This was one of those things Neptune KNEW to keep inside, but was spouting anyway. Probably because it was Finny who already knew too much for his own good. "He really liked her, too. I'm just worried. For you both." Which was something she'd not exactly admit to anyone else. Maybe Jake though, since he was forever understanding and un-suspicious.

Finlay sighed, looking away from her eyes. These thoughts had occured to him, a lot. Was he risking losing his best friend because of this? The best friend that he'd had since he was little. "I hope he still wants to be my friend......" Neptune knew how close the two lads were. Part of him was trying to say that maybe Marie was worth losing Jimmy, the other part didn't agree though. "Marie didn't think he did....not at all." But Finlay had known. Of course he'd known. Jimmy had talked to him about it. "I've been such a bad friend..." It was horrible, but he couldn't help his feelings.

Neptune wasn't going to hold her breath for that. Or sugar coat it for Finny. "He's not very forgiving." He hadn't EVER forgiven her... not that she exactly had ever said she was sorry... exactly...

It was complicated.

"If you want... I could come along when you tell him. We could meet in public. He won't hit you in front of me. Or he'll.... I'll distract him."

"I know." Of course he knew. Finlay had known Jimmy almost his whole life. There wasn't much about the guy that he didn't know about. "I'm kinda hoping we can get over this though...." Would their friendship really be over because of a girl. He hoped not. His friendship with Jimmy certainly meant a lot more than that to him.

Finn shook his head. "No..." He didn't really want anyone else there when he told him. "We're going backpacking....I'm gonna tell him there." When nobody else would be there to stop them fighting if it ended like that.

Neptune rushed to give Finny a hug. It was sort of a "last hug" type. Because Jim was surely going to kill Finny in the woods and she'd never see him again. Ever. It was one thing for Jim to beat Finny up TWICE for Neptune kissing on Finny.

It was another for him to date, and snog, Jim's real ex-girlfriend.

Somehow, Neptune felt responsible again. Finny's death would be all her fault.

"I'm sorry for asking. I really am. I keep being nosy and it's stupid." HUUUGGGGGGGGGG. "Don't tell her I hugged you though, okay?" Last thing Neptune needed was Marie thinking she was stealing Finn from her.

"Trust me. She will. She... she is ... she made me promise to make Jim happy. She said that! She ... thinks.... you know.." Neptune propped her chin on Finny's chest and LOOKED up at him with her big blue and entirely hopeless eyes. "You know what she thinks. It's crazy. ANd she's really nice and I'd rather her not think I was hitting on you."


Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaause. "Don't you ever tell her that we snogged." Ever.

"I haven't thought about how long actually," Kurumi blushed. With her father working half the time for the Daily Prophet she had imagined herself spending a good portion of the summer holiday in Diagon Alley. Of course, she needed to spend time with her mother and brother back in Japan as well. That being said, the sooner she could have her wand back in her hands the better. "How long do you think it will take me to to learn how to fly properly?"

The moment she asked it, she wasn't sure she wanted to know the answer. She would probably be a 7th year by the time she learned how to fly properly.

"Well," Selina started, "according to the flying I've seen you do... um I would say at least a week... to get you off the ground properly. But I mean, baby steps right? You don't have to be perfect right off the bat. We could do it over time. I mean think about it this summer doesn't have to perfect your flying. Just inroduce it. So maybe a week. Unless you wanted to stay longer."""

"Really?" Kurumi chirped. It would only take a week to turn her into a proper flyer? Then she really heard what Selina was saying. She wasn't saying that Kurumi would fly properly, she was saying that she should be able to lift off the ground without breaking her neck.

Well, that was a start if nothing else.

"Right, baby steps," she nodded. "I think a week is fine. I need to spend time back in Japan and some here in Diagon Alley helping my father get settled in. He can't cook to save his life."

Walking into the car to catch the last part of Kurumi statment "Hey peanutbutter and marshmellow is a totaly legit sandwich" walking up the trolly and getting somthing for is sulking Owl " Did Yall want any thing " digging in to his pocket for his money to pay the witch

Kurumi spun around on her heels to see Michael standing behind her. "Only if you are a dragon, right?" She winked before continuing to nibble on her licorice wand.

"Perfect. When I see my parents I need to just know two things: one, when are you coming to say? And two, how are you getting to Whitely Hall. I mean I know that your house isn't primarily magical so we just need to figure out how to get you there." She couldn't floo. The likelihood of Kurumi's house having a floo network she assumed was slim to none. She couldn't fly... that was why she was coming to Whitley. And she was too young to apparate.

"But one thing you don't have to worry about is your room. We have a few extra bedrooms and I'm sure I could fix something up for you to sleep in." Selina smiled.

Kurumi thought for a moment. "I was planning on spending the last few weeks before the term began with my father her in Diagon Alley, so i could come before that," she said before her cheeks began to blush beat red. "I will be coming by airplane...

The ran her fingers through her hair again.

"Sure thing. Just owl me around the time you'll be coming. I'm flexible. Me and my Da will just be practicing Quidditch for the next term." She was about to continue when she heard a strange word, "A fair pain? Coming to my house is a fair pain?"

Well, Kurumi was certainly having practice explaining things in the non-magical world to her friends. "Um, an airplane," she said as she stopped playing with her hair for a moment. "It's like...the flying non-magical version of the Knight Bus."

That made sense...didn't it?

"Wait? How can Muggles warp through time and space? The night bus can shrink us, bend us, and even make us go faster... how do they do that without magic? Wait, I'm confused. Why would they put a bus to fly?"

Kurumi felt like whacking her head into the trolley. Oh boy...NOW how was she going to explain all this. "Um...how about we save this conversation for when I am at your home?" That way, she could draw diagrams and she would also have a few weeks in the summer to think about how best to explain the whole concept of flight to Selina.

"Yeah, maybe that would be the best idea." Selina said still confused.

Suddenly renewed with a brighter outlook Selina said, "I can't wait to have you stay at my house. It's usually so quiet what with my parents working and everything. Usually it's just me out on the Pitch out back and practicing. And the house seems to echo when no one is home." She added slowly.

Seeing the look on Kurumi's face " Did you want to use my 3d I-pad that should help loads " trying to hold back the laugh of the 45min slide presentation that was going to be needed to teach concept of non-magical flight but then again flying was magic ...just ask bumbble bees
