Satine let her jaw drop at his comment of never getting rid of her...she put on a hurt face that looked like a puppy dog face...and then her left eyebrown cocked..."O come on, you know you wouldn't want to get rid of me...." she paused and cocked her head to the side. "You know you would miss me....alot...I mean your life wouldn't be complete with this purple haired girl in it..."

Satine shook her head, "Well way to put that idea in my head...I"m going to obsessed with it now..." yes this would be her new obsession that she would have to accomplish this term...she thought about a charm to transform stuff...."Hmmmm....I don't think I know one... she paused as she let out a little breath..."but maybe our charms book has something in it...." she said and then hopped up without waiting for his reply.

She ran up the stairs to her dormitory quickly...after a few minutes she came running back down the stairs with her book in her hand. She slammed it on the table and then sat down in the chair curling her legs under her so that she was sitting in an Indian style position in her chair.

She flipped through the pages stopping every once and a while looking at a charm and then shaking her head before going on to another page...."There has to be something in here somewhere...." she said continuing the same steps.

She glanced up at Dallin occasionally and then finally said teasingly, "Well are you just gonna sit there and stare at me doing all the work or are you gonna help me out..." she said with a giggle. She glanced to her right at the seat empty next to her..."Here why don't you come over here and help me out..." she said nudging her right shoulder towards the empty chair.

"I live in Godric's Hollow, its esssentially half and half... half wizarding and half muggle. I can do potions... just not wandwork. It's not all bad, I actually didn't mind..." Hence why Emily was so good at potions.

"It must have been strange, not knowing until you got your letter. I'm surprised your mum didn't mention it. I mean... did your dad know about your mum at least?" Emily thought about the situation, it sounded rather awkward.
Twirling her hair around her fingers Emily considered how different her and Rowan's lives had been. And yet, they were both here at Hogwarts, heading down the same path. Amazing.

"Dad knew Mum was a witch; it would have been impossible for him to not know. She was a metamorphmagus." Rowan looked down at her hands that were fidgeting in her lap. "She didn't tell me much about this world, only that we were different. She died when I was five so I suppose she was planning to explain things to me as I got older."

Emily felt herself go rigid. "Oh I'm so sorry," she said. "That must have been really hard for you.. and your dad."
It kind of made Emily appreciate her parents more, she loved her parents, but on many occasions wished that things were different. Perhaps she would send her mum an owl later.
"Hope you don't mind me asking... are you a metamorphmagus?" she asked. It would be amazing if she was. After all its a very good skill to have.

"Dad died too. I was told that it was a car accident." Rowan, however, was beginning to question a lot of things, including how her parents had died. "Thanks," she said looking down again as she felt her eyes tear up. "Yes, I'm a metamorphmagus, but please don't tell. Only a couple of friends know, and a couple of the professors of course."

"Oh no problem, your secrets safe with me", replied Emily quickly. She would never dream of telling anyone, after all it wasn't her business to tell.
She could see that Rowan was becoming a little upset, not wanting to make it worse and dredge up old memories she decided it was probably best to change the subject.
"So are you enjoying your classes so far? I have a pile of home work I should get working on... although strangely enough I'm not very motivated at the moment."

"Thank you," Rowan smiled at Emily. She seems like a really nice person, she thought to herself. "I'm loving my classes so far. Especially Potions and Transfiguration. There is just so much to learn. How about you? Don't you have O.W.L.S. this year?"

Emily grinned, "Potions is my absolute favourite!" she exclaimed suddenly full of energy. "Although I'm really enjoying Charms as well, looking forward to Herbology starting up soon." Yes she would love Herbology, in all honesty what girl wouldnt. Visions of Professor Vindictus wearing a tight white shirt and black trousers, with dirt on his face, crept into her mind. She may have begun blushing she couldn't tell.

"No I have my NEWTS this year...", Emily swallowed a lump that formed in her throat. She wasn't particularly looking forward to it, her parents expected her to score highly. After all she was thier little princess, so therefore she had to be perfect.
"My OWLS went well, so hopefully I can get a good result again. I'm planning on becoming an Auror, though I'm also considering something more focused on potions.... Professor Lafay gave me the name of a couple of Wizards that would have me on as an apprentice potionere."

Rowan noticed that Emily was slightly blushing and wondered why, but was too polite to ask. "An Auror. Your going to think me daft but....what exactly is that?" Yup. Grew up with muggles alright. Probably the only person here who didn't know the answer to that question.

Kyla Gregory sat in the corner of the room reading her favourite book, she had been reading for almost 2 hours, but she was so engrossed in what she was reading, she hadn't noticed as the room filled up with people. She was so engrossed in her book ,she almost didnt notice the person standing next to her, waiting to speak to her.

Emily smiled, she had a habit of forgetting that not everybody grew up in the wizarding world.
"Oh an Auror is a member of the Ministry of Magics Department of Magical Law Enforcement... so they're sort of like what muggles call police. They go around capturing dark witches and wizards."
Emily paused to let this new information sink in.
"My dad and my fiancee are both Aurors", she said.

The Ministry was currently Rowan's biggest fear and she shuddered at the thought that her new friend might someday be working for them. "Your dad and fiancee, huh? Wait, you're getting married?" She couldn't contain the smile that spread across her face. "Congratulations! How exciting. When?"

Emily couldn't help but produce a small smile at Rowans excitement. Though deep down the engagement was becoming more and more of a nightmare.
"Yes, I've been engaged since birth" she said, "It was arranged by my parents... and his parents", she added just to clarify.
"Xavier Black." she sighed. She really did like him, he was smart, ambitious, not to mention handsome and wealthy, but somehow he just didn't seem interested in her.
"Things were good for a while, we sort of fell in love and it seemed like everything would work out......" she paused and took a deep breath, trying to hold back the tears that were forming in the corners of her eyes.
"But... he... just doesn't love me anymore... if he even did in the first place."
She looked up at Rowan, she hadn't planned on discussing Xavier with anybody... after all it was her business and she didn't want to bore people. But the brave facade was beginning to crumble. Would she be able to keep it together for the rest of the term? After all she did have NEWTS to worry about.

Emily started to fidget with her fingers, she could hardly keep still. Thinking about the whole situation made her feel... angry, frustrated.
"We're getting married once I graduate, I don't know the details, my mother-in-lar-to-be is in charge of that."

"I'm sorry. I've upset you," she said, placing a reassuring hand on Emily's shoulder. "That has to be tough. I can't even imagine what you are going through. Have you told your parents how you feel?" Rowan didn't know anything about having parents but she imagined that once they made up their minds there was no going back. "Perhaps you could put things off for awhile to give you both time to think."

Emily breathed deeply... she needed to calm down. It was nice of Rowan to comfort her though, she didn't have a great deal of comfort.
"No... I havn't told them... I can already imagine what they would say." she smirked darkly. Ungrateful child. Her parents weren't bad... or evil. They were just strict and busy with their own lives to care too much about hers.
"Thing is, I can't back out of it... my father made an unbreakable vow...." Emily paused suddenly remembering Rowan probably didn't know what it meant.
"An unbreakable vow is a magical incantation in which one person makes an oath to another. If that person was to go back on their word, breaking their oath so to speak... they would die."
Emily let this sink in... "So theres really not much that can be done. I just have to go through with it, once I give birth to a son I am free to get a divorce."

Divorce, yes thats what she'd do. There was hope. But then again who knew how long it would take... it could be years before she'd be free. Emily pushed that thought out of her mind, and put on a smile.
"But enough of the doom and gloom" she said.

Victoria arrived in the common room, tired but content from the tea party. She and Vashti rode the tea cup ride several times before they finally sat down and ordered from the menu. Her face glow slightly, and her body felt relaxed from all the food she had eaten. In truth, she was surprised she didn't have a stomach ache by now.

With a contented sigh, she sat by the fireplace after she collected her book and began to read in silence.

"Oh my," she said. She hadn't realized just how bad Emily's situation was. "No more doom and gloom," she said, nodding her head in agreement.

Charley let out a sigh of relief as she entered the common room. She walked over to a seat by the fire and put her bag and books down, then coaxed Niamh out of the bag and held the little black kitten in her lap as she rested.

Emily smiled, it was good to know she had friends at Hogwarts, and she already counted Rowan as a friend.
"So have you seen any of the quidditch games this term? quite exciting. Ravenclaw have to win the next game to make the finals."

"I have been to two so far. They are very exciting. In fact, I screamed myself hoarse last time," she smiled and tucked a bit of stray hair behind her ear. "You play well. Will you be playing in the next match?"

Emily giggled, "Yep, quidditch seems to have that effect on people. I'll never forget watching my first game at Hogwart... I lost my voice for a whole day, couldn't say a thing during classes, then I find out in potions I can cure it. Merlin I love magic."
Emily curled her arms around her legs and hugged them tightly. "Thanks, I used to play more regularly in my first and second year, then I took some time off. I imagine if I keep training well then Jacob will field me for the next game. See what happens."
"Have you considered playing?" she asked.

"Me?" Rowan laughed. "No way. It looks really rough and I am rather small. Besides," she smiled and whispered, "I prefer to do my flying without a broom."

*cries*

This was not a good day/night whatever time of day it was. It wasn't good for her at all. She sat on the floor crying and crying because Bryce had broken up with her. HOW COULD ANYONE BREAK UP WITH HER!! She was beautiful. She didn't like this feeling in her heart.

*cries some more*

So what she was faking it but to get people on HER side and off of Bryce's SIDE that was good for her. Now before she talked to ANY of his friends she had to win over some of her fellow Ravenclaws and some Slytherin's. The fourth year lifted her head and it shown on her flawless face that her beautiful blue eyes were full of tears and red. The tears ran down her face as she kept crying.

"Size isn't everything", said Emily brightly, looking down at her own petite figure.
"But I suppose the game isn't for everyone. I couldn't imagine not playing it, when I'm out there I feel... whole... like I'm finally myself. It's exhilirating." she added. It was amazing how quidditch made her feel, she was beginning to regret all the years she had taken off from playing.

"Maybe I'll try it someday. This is only my second year, so I have time to learn more about it. I still find it confusing sometimes," she said.
