This particular room has served as an office to a number of different professors over the years. Some of which include revered professors such as Septima Vector, Bree Geltz, Kali O'hara, Lesley Modulo Fox, Matthias Pythagoras Wenlock, Onyx Xavier Frost, and most recently, Macadrian Ashling Shackleton-Clark. With each new Professor that has made this office homey, Josephina is sure they each brought their own particular flair to its decorations to accommodate their tastes. Just as Josephina did when she first entered upon this room just two years ago.

The walls have been painted a light blue-gray color and there are a handful of paintings hung around the room, giving off a rather comfortable feeling. One of the paintings is a rendition repainted by Josephina, herself, of a canal near her hometown in Perugia, Italy. There is a framed miniature Italian flag, as well as a third painting of of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.

As with typical office decorum, there is a large, polished wooden desk, that once belonged to each of her predecessors. It is piled rather high with various papers and worksheets, which is quite startling for a new professor and start-of-term. There are also two framed photographs sitting on her desk; one was of Josephina posed with her two sisters and the other was of her parents, Nicole and Marcus, sitting on their couch. Behind the large wooden desk sits a black executive style chair. Directly on the other side of the desk - where visitors may sit - are two smaller black chairs, but still just as comfortable.

There's a bookcase on the left side, which contains various titles that Josephina collected over the years. Some these include, but are not limited to, The Complete Book of Numerology, New Theory of Numerology, Numerology and Gramatica, A Look Into The Future, and Olde and Forgotten Bewitchments and Charmes. There are also muggle classic books by Charles Dickens and Jane Austen, for which are a few of Fina's guilty pleasures.

Though the door is nearly always open, proper etiquette dictates knocking and addressing your identity before entering. Especially as Professor Hadley likely has her back to the door where she is playing with her puppy named Baisley or her kitten received from recent graduate, Lorelai Bristol, in which she conveniently named Bristol. Just entering without permission is rude and punishable with either point deduction and/or detention for being disrespectful.

OOC: No, there is no waiting area, but please do not clog up this thread with useless chatter of 'waiting to enter'. Have your character knock and then wait for Professor Hadley to respond to either enter or to come back later.

There are plenty of places around the school that allow for chat with your friends; Professor Hadley's office is NOT the place for it and doing as such will be cause for appropriate discipline actions.

Upon the desk sits a pair of running shoes. Really, really nice running shoes, custom-made to fit Professor Hadley's feet. A large bow is tied on top.

Rene was just as eager to meet this professor because she was a new professor. She walked up to the door and knocked. It was open but there was no need to not show manners.

That ought to be fun for it seemed that he had sooooo many amends to make. And it wasn't just with Professor Hadley. He needed to apologize to Melanie. Certainly. She needed an apology...and not because he thought that would make his chances on the team run slim, but because he shouldn't have reacted the way he did.

Anyway, there was already someone waiting and for a moment there Treyen thought that he'd better just skip Hadley, right? But, no, he'll wait.

Entering her office, Josephina's mind was slightly preoccupied but those thoughts quickly washed away with what awaited her on her desk. Custom-made running shoes. A slight twinge was in her side as she realized how much she missed jogging.

But wait, someone knew her shoe size. Someone knew that she liked to run but hadn't in some time.

Looking up abruptly from the shoes she had been expecting at the sound of a knock, she smiled warmly and threw the shoes down on the ground. These students needn't know she was a runner, right?

Smiling warmly at the not one, but two, Hufflepuffs, she wondered vaguely if it was about the negative points. But surely she was innocent in that, this time. One of the students she knew slightly better because he had been here last year, accusing her of that joint lesson with his favorite subject and forcing Arithmancy down his throat.

"Hello Mr Lockart. Ms Cullen." She said politely. "Come in, take a seat. What can I do for you?"

Kurumi made her way to Professor Hadley's office with a particular question in mind. Of course, she didn't mind chatting with the professor, but at least she came with an Arthimancy related question as well. She hadn't really spent much time with Professor Hadley outside of the classroom, so she was unsure about how she approached student visits, but she had been very kind to her at the opening feast.

Timidly, Kurumi knocked on the door and waited for a response.

Having inadvertantly followed a younger familiar student here, Jake gave her a smile which fell slightly when he saw who else was here.

Treeyyyyyyyeennnnn...

The boy sped up slightly before they could go in and knocked on the door even though it was already held open, peering over the heads of the other students with his now expressionless face.

And sunglasses on.

Naturally.

He spared a smile as soon as he was addressed, "Professor Hadley," he nodded before taking a seat. His voice certainly had a different tone than the one on his previous visit.

But when someone knocked he couldn't help but look towards the door.

Treyen frowned, was the boy following him or something? Because he sooo believed that, trust the Lockhart kid to avoid him as much as possible. There was really no need to talk to him ever again, right? So, why waste his precious time doing so?

Kurumi was there as well. Oh, the cupcakes! He'd talk to her later.

He turned his head to the Professor again, and actually failed at waiting for the girl to talk first. "I trust you had a great summer?" yeah, that wasn't really what he came up here for.

"I--," he started to say, straightening himself on the chair, "I wanted to apologize for what I said in my last visit," now that was the real reason for this visit, "I also wanted to let you know that I will be taking Arithmancy this time around," which could be a surprise to her, no? After all the awful stuff he'd said about Arithmancy and how he wouldn't be good at it, yes?

One being the rather talented and sweet Gryffindor, Kurumi, and the other being the boy who'd been shunned from the Staff Dias at the feast. A boy whom she recognized vaguely from her first year teaching but seemed to have gone missing last year.

"Kurumi ... Jake? You two can come in if you like." Josephina commented lightly, giving the second year and seventh polite smiles before turning toward Mister-I-hate-Arithmancy-and-you-for-doing-a-joint-lesson-with-my-favorite-lesson.

Except that Treyen definitely seemed to have something different about his tone this time compared with the last time he was in her office. Noting his look when Jake approached her office, she guessed the two Hufflepuff boys weren't on good terms; probably Treyen's fault. He has issues with random people for NO reason, Fina decided.

"I did have a pretty decent summer," Yes, no complaints there. But she also had an inkling that Treyen Lockhart did NOT come to visit her to chit-chat idly about summer break. It was what he said next that made her stare at the fourth year for a moment.

After what he said last term about her subject and now he wanted to try it out?! Perhaps she'd made an impact with her response back? "Don't worry about it. Those spiteful words are in the past, Treyen." And now was the present and a new beginning, she hoped so at least, as she glanced down at the floor for a brief moment and eyed the running sneakers, a small smile flickering across her face. Looking back up at the boy, she wasn't going to deny that she WAS surprised. "Well then, thank you for letting me know and I'm do look forward to seeing you in my lessons."

She had never seen anything like that before. Well, that was kind of a lie. She had seen it before at a theme park back in Japan, but she hadn't been entirely sure if that was a theme park thing, or if it had really been based off the real world. Kurumi found herself staring at it and momentarily forgot about the Arthimancy question she was going to ask. "Professor, what is that painting of?" she asked pointing to it.

"I'm glad you did," he said, with a smile, and decided to add something else, "You know, I visited Italy over the summer, cozy country, great gelato," yes, he'd have an awesome time there, the people had been incredible welcoming, and everything was to his liking, except the fact that he didn't speak the language, but...that could be arranged if he liked the country so much.

His smile widened when she mentioned the 'Don't worry' part, but then it completely fell at the 'spiteful' word, "I'm still terribly sorry," well, he was making amends, the use of the word was uncalled for, really. "But, I get it, it's in the past," hopefully Melanie will be just as forgiving as Professor Hadley was being.

He needed to think before actually speaking, he needed to learn that. Soon.

Then he chuckled, softly, "You know, I found it quite ironic, and you probably won't believe it but Arithmancy is the class I'm looking forward the most," and he wasn't trying to gain her likeness or anything, it was the class he was looking forward to because he wanted to know how he'll do in it, simple as that.

"I suppose that's all I needed to tell you, Professor," he said, nodding once and getting up, surely Kurumi will take his chair, he'd be more than glad if she did.

But he didn't leave the office, after all, he hadn't said goodbye, yet.

Another hobby she missed, other than jogging that is.

Aww! Treyen visited her home country! Which meant also that he was likely there while she was; though she was only there for about a month, so who knew? "Really?" She asked, her hazel eyes lighting up. It was a great country; not just the gelato was good though! "I'm glad you had an awesome visit there and do hope you tried some of our delicious but quite filling pasta dishes as well."

Such a Hufflepuff, Treyen was, with his willingness to apologize even if not necessary. But at least he agreed it was in the past. "Of course the past is not forgotten, but what good does it do to dwell on the past, right?"

Wait, what?! Arithmancy was the class he was looking forward to most?! Well if that was the case, then he was probably the student she was looking forward to teaching the most. But she didn't say that out loud; not with the other students around, anyway. "Well that's interesting ..." She said, smiling at the fourth year.

"Do enjoy a peppermint candy before you depart though." Because she had them and she forgot to offer them when the kids came in.

She smiled at the older girl and nodded; she did have a good summer actually. It was nice to just sit back and relax, not having to worry about anything or anyone, really. "Never too early to start preparing, my dear." Because you know, she started prepping for her NEWT exams pretty much right after she received her OWL results. Granted not everyone was an overachiever like herself . . . . "Of course though. Actually just down the hall, there is a laboratory of sorts that hasn't been properly used in some time. I've fixed it up and there are all kinds of books on Arithmancy. You're welcome to use it by yourself or with some friends to help better understand the various topics in Arithmancy."

Perhaps hosting a study session in that lab before finals might be helpful to the students? Hmm ...

"Thank you," Jake smiled slightly, simultaneously sitting down and taking a peppermint even though he wasn't really a fan. The young man stared through his sunglasses at his surroundings, before looking back to Hadley again.

"I thought I'd come to visit, just because… well, why not? How are you, Professor?"

He didn't blame her if she thought he had some ulterior motive. It was the natural reaction to him apparently.

Kurumi's jaw dropped and she stared at the painting for a few moments before snapping her head toward her professor. And then back again. And one more time. "R-R-R-Really?!" Kurumi wasn't sure at this point if she was more impressed with the painting or the fact that her professor lived in Italy. "It's beautiful."

Kurumi closed her jaw, her mother would be furious with her for gawking like that. Right, Kurumi had come here with an actual question.

"Um...Professor, I actually have a question about Arthimancy," Kurumi said calming her voice a bit. "I came across it in in a bit of reading, the Chaldean Method that is. In class, we used the Pythagorean Number System to calculate our Life Path Numbers." Kurumi's thoughts were beginning to get jumbled up in her head. "I guess my real question is about the number 9. You explained that it means completion so...why isn't it included in the Chaldean Method?"

The boy nodded, "I did, and I liked everything," like, literally everything. But he wouldn't discuss his whole trip. This was more of a quick meeting.

He, actually, blinked when she commented on the 'to dwell on the past' thing. She was...making a whole lot of sense. Smart. No, brilliant! His mind was filled with Gilderoy now for some strange reason. He...had a lot of thinking to do. Treyen only nodded, a small smile on his face.

Interesting? Well, yes, apparently one didn't choose the path ahead of them most of the time, it was life that managed to do so. Correct?

"Oh, yes, thank you," he said, before taking one candy, "I will be seeing you in class, Professor Hadley," and then he nodded, only once, before heading outside.

Outside. Away from Jake.

He did smile to Kurumi on his way out, though.

If he actually needed to speak to ONE Professor, Hadley would be it. He had a bone to pick with her. Giant. Legend was not going to put himself through another year of Arithmancy mind torture.

He would rather play Quidditch.

They...well don't seem to nervous," she noted looking at the basket on the floor of the beautiful numbered cupcakes. "A laboratory well that will be alot of help. Here is something from me to you as a new term starting gift." she pulled the basket off the floor and took the purple cloth revealing the cupcakes. "I hope you don't mind them." she smiled

There was something else she wanted to ask but she was unsure on how to put it. "Professor may I ask you for your advice?"

"Oh." She said quietly. "Well thank you for coming to visit. Visits are nice. And I'm quite alright; relatively relaxed now after the summer." As relaxed as one could be with the happenings in the Wizarding World, anyway. "How are you, though?" Judging from how he handled the feast ... she wasn't sure.

Josephina nodded when the young Gryffindor gawked for a moment at the painting. "Thank you. Painting is ... one of my relaxing pasttimes." That and running were two of her guilty pleasures, which she supposed was better than what it could have been.

And then here came the question ... Of course; Fina knew Kurumi had one because why else would the girl be here? She seemed like the type to show up with a purpose, not just for idle chit-chat. "I, well Kurumi, the simple answer would be that the number nine is considered the highest vibration of the single digit numbers." But she guessed the Gryffindor would not be satisfied by that answer. Standing up, the brunette walked over toward her books and scanned the titles for only a moment before selecting the text on Ancient Numerology and carried it to her desk.

"Ah ... here we are..." Turning the textbook around, Fina pointed at the paragraph which seemed to explain it so nicely.

Hmm... perhaps a lesson on the Chaldeans might be helpful? Complicated, yes, but she had little doubts that some of these kids could handle it. NEWT level work no doubt.

And with the leave of one boy ... another appears. This one without his female counterpart (because she could see it deep within them! She was sure of it! ~~Except that she didn't have the inner eye, so she had to rely on the numbers...~~)

"Come in, Legend. Take a seat.... How can I be of assistance today?" Josephina noted of the older Gryffindor boy. Actually she had some idea .. he seemed irate, which meant he probably was unhappy with passing his Arithmancy OWL.

A poor habit that she'd seen too many students fall into. "I hope so..." Because there were books in there! Like on the Chaldean method and other stuff. And it was quiet too... Of course so was the library but this was all Arithmancy related books!

New term starting gift? Looking in the basket, her eyes widened at the sight of each single-digit number carefully iced on a cupcake! "Oh how delightful!" Of course she'd have to run a charm on them and make sure they weren't poisoned, but nonetheless, very thoughtful.

Looking up at the girl, she smiled. "Of course, anything." She was there for the students after all, wasn't she?

He nodded at what Hadley said, glancing at her every now and then. Sunglasses or no sunglasses, looking into people's eyes was something he needed years of work on.

"Me?" Jake asked, thinking about it for a few moments. "Far from my best, I daresay," he shrugged, looking down at the sweet. "Rough summer, rough return."

As soon as he heard the words 'come in' Legend quickly walked into the office. "Hello Professor." He said with a sight nod. Because manners was everything and Hadley was crazy enough to take points off of him for something as simple as that.

Eyes falling on an empty seat close to the desk he quickly sat down. "Well er- you see Had-Professor." He was so used to calling her just Hadley alone with his friends. "I am sure that you, are quite aware that on my OWL's I achieved an A." Acceptable. Which was a pass, it wasn't the best pass but it was STILL a pass. "Now I'm not stupid enough to flunk a course on purpose- nevermind an OWL. So I actually did try to pass. But to be completely and utterly honest with you Professor, I do NOT think I am capible to handle Arithmancy at a Sixth Year level." Seee, he had been so mature when speaking about it also! That meant, take him OUT of the class.

Well it wasnt like it wouldn't not for her she was smart but some things where hard for to understand. Like this subject for instance.

She was glad she liked the cupcakes It was a new recipe that she had tried. Shifting in her seat and placing her hands on her knees "Yes, ma'am that way you could eat your favorite numbers like the meanings for luck." Well she thought that was a good idea.

"I have an idea to help out some first year students. I know my first year was rather diffcult and I had an idea to set up some time to maybe meet with some who where intrested in like a study or help advocate group to get used to there classes and thier time here at Hogwarts. I was wondering where would you start, If you have that such idea?" She asked. She had already asked another professor and hse just wanted to get another opinion on the matter.

Like so many times before, from the time she had started Hogwarts six year ago, the Hufflepuff found herself wandering down the corridor she was probably most familiar with out of the entire castle, along with the ones that led to and from the Great Hall, and her house Common Room. The same corridor she had ventured through her first day at Hogwarts to meet her head of House, Professor Shackleton-Clark, whom she would then visit every first day back for the next three years.

It was a sad day when the woman hadn't returned, but Katie had expected it; She had known it was to come, and that was okay. She understood why. And more than that, surprisingly, after two more years the Hufflepuff girl had become very fond of the woman whom had taken over the position. So it was no wonder really as to why her feet led her in the direction of the Arithmancy Professor's office.

And as usual, the door was left wide open and before Katie had even reached it, she could hear quite a few voices from inside. Yes, she would have to make this visit a quick one, wouldn't she? Raising her hand, the sixth year knocked lightly (but not too lightly, so that she wouldn't be heard over the noise) on the door, waiting just outside.
