As per the announcement made earlier, the second Charms lesson of the term is to take place, not on the room on the third floor, but in an enclosure in the grounds. This enclosure looks small but is, inside, much larger than a regular classroom. The roof is a mild cream-white and, once you step through the archway that serves as a door, you will see darker desks lining all four walls, leaving most of the space inside the room vacant.
The are large French windows set in each wall, letting light pleasantly flood in. The Professor's desk stands at the front of the classroom, and Jared is standing by it, gloved hands tucked into the pockets of deep black robes, as he waits for the students to start trickling in. Despite the weather outside, the insides of the temporary classroom are pleasantly warm, not too hot but certainly not too cold either.
OOC: Helloooo! Sowwee for the delay. You can RP your charries arriving, but the lesson will probably reaaaally start in five to ten hours. ^__^
Charlie watched on as more and more students arrived. She smiled at one student who apparently was making quite a ruckus. Well. That's a way to start a class.

How stupid was that boy? First he steals Evan's badge then he has the nerve to show up in a class and announce that he is the Slytherin Prefect... In front of a professor. Evelyn really didn't have a very bright boyfriend did she.
Walking over to Evan she looked over at the professor and greeted him. "Hello Professor." She then looked over at Josh and glared at him while listening to what his friends were saying to him. "Yes Joshua, why don't you listen to your friends here and act like a good little boy now and give back what will NEVER belong to you." The boy was really twisted if he thought he was ever going to be good enough to be a prefect... for any house.
Looking over at Evan she whispered, "Don't worry, he'll be wishing he would have never taken your badge when I get done with him."
Oh that boy was so getting kicked... and punched... and whatever else she felt like doing to him after class.

Once he heard Simon's voice, demanding to know what he was doing, Josh stopped laughing at looked at his friend with a rather innocent expression. It was apparent from his exclamation that the Captain was not happy with the joke his friend was performing. ''Just having a bit of fun, mate'' he replied before giving Evan another look and turning back to face Simon ''Umm...why does not he come and try to get it himself? If he has enough guts and strenght to do that, of course''
It looked like this was going to be a problem for him while his only intention was having fun. He meant no harm. And there was no harm except poor Cartwright's damaged ego. As he considered this Josh half laughed again and simply eyed the Gryffindor Prefect when he heard his familiar voice. And what he was saying...just made the Gryffie raise his eyebrows ''Of course, i am a lion. Ever doubted that?'' hearing this statement, to be frank, was a bit annoying. Especially coming from a housemate. ''And for the sake of an half eaten apple, why would i want to interrupt a lesson unless i plan to protect Evelyn from a weird kind of mental harm caused by any unnecessary information? Mmm no, no points are going to be lost for a simple joke''

Now who was that female voice? Josh was talking to the prefect for his house, could not she see that? Act like a good boy? BAHAHAHAHA. Now this was something new. With the smirk on his face, the Gryffindor faced the snake girl, Marie, and eyed her some before he took a deep breath and spoke ''I am a good boy, actually. I saved your prefect from the burden this badge caused because i heard him complaining about it. He was not happy. So i saved him by taking his badge away'' Yeah, did this make sense to you she-snake?
As Marie whispered something that Josh could not hear, the lion boy ignored those two and looked around the class at the other students again. Some of them were watching the fuss at the front of the class and some were just being busy with their own business. Good choice. Because Josh did not really wanted many people to watch this since none of them seemed to comprehend that he was only joking for the fun of it. Aha, the Gryffindor saw Mr. ex-Stutters Jake looking at his way and, since there was a professor in the classroom, he only stared him back, the next moment focusing on others instead; like those Slytherin girls.
The one who looked like to be a first year, as Josh observed, looked like she had been watching too but when he saw her turn away the Gryffindor moved his dark brown gaze next to her only to see...

Unfortunately it looked like his adorable and irresistible she-snake was not really happy with what the boy was doing. Yet since the girl's sight made the Gryffindor froze for a moment and his heart to beat faster, it was obvious that he missed her pretty much, he was unable to do anything else for a couple of moments just staring at her. Then, when he finally managed to snap out of it, Joshua took the badge off and looked down at it before he approached Evan to give it back.
If Evelyn was not happy with it, the last thing Josh wanted on earth was annoying her.
As their housemate chimed as they awaited his friend's response, Simon seriously hoped Josh give into what they were asking. Especially seeing as now their were two prefects involved not to mention the professor in the front of the room obviously able to see and here everything. Hearing Marie's words he couldn't help but roll his eyes almosy making a response but the last thing that was needed was further tension between the houses.
When Josh in fact gave in, apparently one he spotted Evelyn, the quidditch captain gave an inward sigh of relief before lloking at the Slytherin prefect. "See...no harm done just a harmless joke," he assured him hoping as well no further trouble would exist.

Still in her seat, Helena turned around to watch... the scene. What was that Gryffindor doing? And he stole the Prefects badge... from Evan? And what about the 'all-Slytherins-should-obey-me' thing? Whaaat was going on?
But of course, she wouldn't say anything, she surely didn't want to be part of this. Just... screaming questions in her mind.

Emily looked up from her text book, she had been staring at it's cover, day dreaming about the weekend and up-coming quidditch game. What in the name of Merlin was going on? she thought as a group of slytherins and a gryffindor boy were raising their voices.
Whatever it was, Emily decided it was best not to get involved, the Professor would sort them out.
Instead she fixed her gaze on the archway entrance to the classroom. She hoped Claire would be here soon.
Jaina ran down to where the charms class was assembling. She had her heavy winter cloak on her and was still cold. She saw Belle there and was happy. "Hello, Professor!" she exclaimed while trotting over to Belle. "Belle!" she said while giving her a hug.
After she walked around the grounds, Helena finally found the classroom where the second Charms lesson is going to be held. She looked around, then spotted professor Descoteaux and smiled. "Hello, professor."

He should have seen this coming, you know? Being at Hogwarts for four months meant expecting this kind of thing. Unfortunately, Jared had not seen it coming, not expected it. He raised an eyebrow, contemplating if he should just let the kids... sort out their little skirmish on their own. Then he realized that the little skirmish had turned into a not-so-little spectacle. Perhaps he ought to step in, after all.
"Evan, please let me handle this." He gave the Slytherin Prefect a brief though not impolite nod, his tones neutral, before turning to the Gryffindor that had created the... spectacle.
"Joshua..." Don't mention underwear in front of the ladies? It doesn't sound decent? Could he take points for that? "That's four points from Gryffindor for..." For stealing a badge, and mentioning underwear in a room that contains female students? Jared scratched his chin thoughtfully, not quite sure what to say. "For disrespecting a fellow student." His expression became serious as he spoke again, though his tones remained neutral. Deadpan. "I don't want to hear about or see you taking someone else's belongings without permission, again. Is that understood?"
Apologize to Evan? Had he been supposed to say that, too? Jared realized, not for the first time, that he knew as much about handling skirmishes like this as he knew about tackling... student fangirls? Meaning, nil. Zilch. Nothing. He supposed he'd learn, though. He just wasn't used to non life-threatening situations, yet. And?
"Hello."
He supposed he ought to respond to Joshua's greeting.

Jared almost backed off, he had gotten so used to doing that each time a female student stepped too close to him, but then he realized it was only Mia, someone who hadn't done something yet, and did not.
"Good morning, Mia. How are you, today?"
Right. Jared straightened up. "Alright, everyone. Before the practical portion of the lesson, we're going to have a discussion about the relationship between charms and muggles." Never having enjoyed restrictions, he still had mixed feelings about this but, after a brief pause, he continued. "First off, who is a muggle? I don't just mean the standard definition, though you can give that if you like. What makes a muggle so different from someone practicing magic? Is a muggle really that different?"

Kurumi frowned. More talk about the wizarding world and its relationship with the wizarding one. Kurumi's spirits had been darkening with all this sort of talk. It was making her wish more and more that she hadn't been lied to...made her wish that she didn't have to hide.
Closing her textbook and setting her quill down, Kurumi leaned her elbows on the table. Sighing a bit, she picked up her quill again and began to write.

A Muggle is someone who has no knowledge of the wizarding world and magic unless it is the talk of fairy tales. Furthermore, they are incapable of performing spells.
She put her quill down for a moment and looked around the room wondering what others thought. Just because she no longer wished to voice her opinion on the matter did not mean others wouldn't. Perhaps they would give her some ideas and help put her mind at ease.

Raven think about muggle, he never differentiate a muggle and wizard, what will be his thought about it. Raven wants to say something but he isn't sure of it, he choose to right his idea rather than to say it publicly, beside he didn't wanted to be first.

Removing his things from his bag, setting them up all neatly on his desk, Patroclus listened in as the lesson got under way, "My definition of a muggle is one who is without magic, nor do they know anything about the exsistence of magic. I know many would say even a muggle who knew about magic is a muggle, but to me they are like a new brand of muggle, like......the 'in-the-know Muggles'.....does that make sense?" It was hard to figure out whether his words were leaving his mouth in the correct way, for they were sounding rather jumbled to his own ears.

Okay, so Helena decided to finally open her mouth, once the silence was broken. She raised her hand. "Muggles are the non magical people, uncapable of performing magic." Sooo she pretty much read everything she wrote down. Buuuut she didn't say the part in which she considered their lives boring without magic. It wasn't... suitable for the question. Or was it?

Kurumi looked down at her parchment. Patroclus had pretty much covered what she had wrote, along with coming up with a rather interesting concept. "Perhaps they are Neo Muggles?" Kurumi wondered aloud. "I always found it interesting that we use the term Muggleborn to describe those witches and wizards born from nonmagical bloodlines...but then aren't we technically putting them in an extended category of Muggle?" Kurumi tickled her nose for a moment with her quill. "I mean, we often say that a Muggle is someone who is incapable of magic...but clearly this is not always the case."
Even when she wanted to, she couldn't keep herself quiet for long. At least this conversation wasn't starting off with how their worlds could or couldn't co-exist.

After the unwelcome distraction before the lesson, Emily was glad that the class was now underway. Again....... muggles. Ugh. Her excitement level instantly flatlined after hearing Professor Descoteaux utter that one, now traumatising word.
Sighing deeply, Emily considered the Professors question and put her hand up to contribute anyway. After all points were points, marks were marks and newts were newts. It was going to be a long term.
"Professor, aside from stating the obvious- that muggles lack magical abilities, magical blood... they are also- I believe limited in their ability to think openly and freely. Or at least more limited than we are."
Emily paused to take a breath, "I mean they are not exposed to magic and so cannot comprehend it when they do see it. Aside from that of course they're not all that different at all. I suppose it's the way that we live that makes us so different. But at the end of they day, they have feelings, emotions much like us, they learn and they work much like us, they have similar family dynamics- though without the magic."
After all that Emily realised there was one word that could sum up their differences- albeit the magic part... "Lifestyle" she said. "We all live, though we have our own methods."
Yes... this seemed to be a fair consideration, thought Emily.
Selina smiled at the teacher's acknowledgement of her query, "Im fine as well, looking forward to class today."
When he started the lesson Selina rose her hand, "A muggle is a human being who dies not possess magical abilities. They lead a similar life style to Wizards but lack the ability to manipulate wandlore. In my personal opinion they are not that different. In a magical home if someone is a Squib they live a normal life style. It is just different."

Emily coudn't wait until her next charms lesson, but after hearing this question decided she possibly could have.
She was sick of teachers saying they and muggles were not that different. "A muggle practicing magic carn't actually do magic. Not like us anyway."
Well they coudn't. "Muggle magicians were all mirrors and smoke. And if they did magic like us they would be a wizard, so yeah, they are different."

Simon smiled as he raised his hand, he knew this question, it was one of the first question this term that he actually knew. "A muggle is a person who doesn't have the ability to use magic, they also fight with there fists instead of there wands." Simon smiled. "They have no idea that Wizards exist unless they are one of the lucky one's that get into Hogwards of any wizard school."
Arya had busied herself with undoing her scarf and removing her head gear while watching the scene with the Griffindor prefect when her bestie, who she hadn't seen in forever, arrived at her side. A smile spreading across her face, she returned the hug before settling into her seat. "Haven't seen you in awhile." And boy did they have some catching up to do.
Just as she was settling back into her seat, her other best friend had arrived, widening her smile. She gave him a playful nudge, she finally did settle back into her seat. The heat was nice in here, wasn't it?

Grinning at Arya, Sabel plopped himself into the seat beside her, giving her an equally playful nudge back. His grin moved from her to Ivy, giving her a polite nod before his attention was caught by the professor. And then he nearly did what Jake had done in History of Magic, though managed to simply drop his head in his hand rather than on the table. If anyone came out of this year not knowing what a muggle was, and not having some greater appreciation for them, he was going to look at them very, very strangely.

He had been doing well, keeping a good mood and trying not to get too affected by all the muggle talk in the past few classes, but agitation found him once again at a few of the offered answers. They were less prejudice than before, but two students still had him turning his head with a frown, glancing between them.
"Simple and limited in perception because they can't 'do' magic?" His tone wasn't disrespectful, but it did contain the expression of the frown that had furrowed his brow. "That's like saying an animal is simple and 'limited' because it cannot speak. Or it does not have opposable thumbs. It is because muggles don't have magic that they have their own complexity, not less. Think about the ingenuity required for the technology they have created, their ability to solve problems that we would dispel with a simple flick of the wand and incantation. And for thinking openly and freely, perception is limited by what we are exposed to. They often do not 'see' magic because they have been told it doesn't exist thanks to the Statue, and ergo, when you are told something doesn't exist all your life, it's a little hard to comprehend it when it does pop up. Our eyes may be opened wider than theirs because we have not been subjected to the Statue, but that doesn't mean they don't have the ability to see as much or more than we do."
And he had just gone and ranted on two of his fellow classmates. Wincing a little, he cast his eyes down for a moment before looking back up at both of them. If anything, he was very appreciative that there was the acknowledgement of humanity in muggles. Some people didn't see it that way. "Muggles are people." Definite agreement there. "Who have to make their way in the world without the use of magic."

Like in her other classes, she chose not to respond to this question. Really, the only way a student couldn't know what a muggle was, was to have missed all the classes this term. Like with those two students. Her eyes flicked to them before gliding lazily around the classroom, not turning on Sabel as he corrected them. She was close enough to him that it wasn't really necessary.

Enjoying it was going to be an easy thing to experience this time. For a certain reason which made the Gryffindor boy smirk widely. Unlike the other days that he attended classes, this time he was carrying a bag with necessary items like a normal student. Today he was a student. Buut...
''Hello Professor'' Josh Carter uttered cheerfully once he entered the classroom. Then taking his place at the front of the classroom, near the Professor's desk, he faced everybody in the classroom with his famous overly confident attitude. ''SLYTHERINS!'' then he yelled to have everybody's attention. Well, at least the attention of Slytherin students.
''I have good news for you which you'll be all delighted to hear about.'' Hehehehe. *ehem ehem* ''From now on, I, Joshua Carter: the great hero and The Master of Everything will be your male prefect'' giving all the Slytherins a cool look the Gryffindor boy went on ''Great, is not it? I can tell that you are all pretty lucky for that matter'' Bahahaha ''And ah, if any of you should see the proof for that, you can have a close look of this. If you must, of course.''
And after those words and laughting rather loudly, he showed them the shiny Slytherin prefect badge (that he had stolen from Prerfect Evan) that was pinned on his Gryffindor robe.

''Just having a bit of fun, mate'' he replied before giving Evan another look and turning back to face Simon ''Umm...why does not he come and try to get it himself? If he has enough guts and strenght to do that, of course''
It looked like this was going to be a problem for him while his only intention was having fun. He meant no harm. And there was no harm except poor Cartwright's damaged ego. As he considered this Josh half laughed again and simply eyed the Gryffindor Prefect when he heard his familiar voice. And what he was saying...just made the Gryffie raise his eyebrows ''Of course, i am a lion. Ever doubted that?'' hearing this statement, to be frank, was a bit annoying. Especially coming from a housemate. ''And for the sake of an half eaten apple, why would i want to interrupt a lesson unless i plan to protect Evelyn from a weird kind of mental harm caused by any unnecessary information? Mmm no, no points are going to be lost for a simple joke''

Now who was that female voice? Josh was talking to the prefect for his house, could not she see that? Act like a good boy? BAHAHAHAHA. Now this was something new. With the smirk on his face, the Gryffindor faced the snake girl, Marie, and eyed her some before he took a deep breath and spoke ''I am a good boy, actually. I saved your prefect from the burden this badge caused because i heard him complaining about it. He was not happy. So i saved him by taking his badge away'' Yeah, did this make sense to you she-snake?
As Marie whispered something that Josh could not hear, the lion boy ignored those two and looked around the class at the other students again. Some of them were watching the fuss at the front of the class and some were just being busy with their own business. Good choice. Because Josh did not really wanted many people to watch this since none of them seemed to comprehend that he was only joking for the fun of it. Aha, the Gryffindor saw Mr. ex-Stutters Jake looking at his way and, since there was a professor in the classroom, he only stared him back, the next moment focusing on others instead; like those Slytherin girls.
The one who looked like to be a first year, as Josh observed, looked like she had been watching too but when he saw her turn away the Gryffindor moved his dark brown gaze next to her only to see...

Unfortunately it looked like his adorable and irresistible she-snake was not really happy with what the boy was doing. Yet since the girl's sight made the Gryffindor froze for a moment and his heart to beat faster, it was obvious that he missed her pretty much, he was unable to do anything else for a couple of moments just staring at her. Then, when he finally managed to snap out of it, Joshua took the badge off and looked down at it before he approached Evan to give it back.
If Evelyn was not happy with it, the last thing Josh wanted on earth was annoying her.

Apologize to Evan? Had he been supposed to say that, too? Jared realized, not for the first time, that he knew as much about handling skirmishes like this as he knew about tackling... student fangirls? Meaning, nil. Zilch. Nothing. He supposed he'd learn, though. He just wasn't used to non life-threatening situations, yet. And?

He supposed he ought to respond to Joshua's greeting.
He had just nodded his head at Evelyn when a booming voice calling the attention of all Slytherins got him to raise his head. Seeing Josh at the front of the class making a spectacle of himself is something Salander was starting to get used to until he heard--

Salander would've burst out laughing so hard had he not seen Evelyn's face first, then saw Marie looking like she was going to do even worse damage on Josh than she did on him. He struggled to keep his face straight and totally failing as he watched the other Badges move in for the kill.....
Then the Professor stepped in. That was it, party's over-- ending with the sounds of points dropping from Gryffindor.
Forget prefecting, Salander has one idea he'd want to hire Josh for in behalf of Slytherin house

Okayyyy... discussion time. And its about Muggles. No surprise there really. He titled his head for a moment before raising his hand in reply "Muggles are people who wished they were Wizards." Seriously "I mean just look at their fiction output-- its always got something to do with some kind of angels or demons or fairies or superheroes or whatever fantastical character that does awesome things in these awesome places, heck they've even published their own ideas about witches, wizards or warlocks. They totally want to be us. But they're not." Too bad really.

Luin watched as she spectacle with the Slytherins and Gryffindor going on and stayed well away from it, she definitely did not want to lose any points from her house. She thought for awhile about his question, it was interesting because she had already been thinking so much about muggles lately in all of her classes and homeworks. She then raised her hand, "Muggles are people who do not have the ability to perform magic and who have no blood or relation to those with magic. Physically and mentally they are no different than us, they just live and see the world differently because they do not have the powers that we have. They cannot do all the things that we can with magic and so must compensate in other ways."
Jake's eye twitched ever so slightly as Descoteaux mentioned muggles. It was SO hard not to start a mass walk out... then again, he'd be the only one. Instead, Jake took a text book from his bag and hit himself square on the head with it a few times.
What are muggles?
"Muggles. Are. Getting. On. My. Last. Nerve."
The book came down with every word onto his already tender forehead (headdesk, anyone?), and when he looked up again he looked slightly disappointed. "Apart from the whole magic thing, the main thing difference between muggles and wizards right now to ME is that when we discuss wizards and magic, I don't want to run head first into the flailing branches of the Whomping Willow."
Simple enough? He even had a serious answer somewhere in there. The magic thing.
