Josephina had of course - even as a student - heard about a mysterious staff room. Though she'd never really been one to nosy around to try and find it, since it didn't pertain to her, she was really astonished at herself for even forgetting about the room last year during her first year as Hogwarts Professor.

Shrugging it off, she was here now and muttered the passcode that she strained to remember from Headmaster Tate oh-so-long-ago. Slipping inside, she sighed in great relief at the sights before her. Spacious tables, foods, and above all . . . BOOKS! Just when she thought she'd read all the books at Hogwarts, she realized . . . she hadn't come close. There were shelves of books that her eyes hadn't even begun to read yet.

Hazel eyes dancing delightfully, she selected a title from one of the shelves and curled up in the comfortable-looking black armchair by the window. Lesson plans? Pfft, who needed them when there were BOOKS to be read?!

There was a door here somewhere...she could remember there was one... Or maybe it was on another floor? Sigh. Almost a year had passed and Maya still didn't quite know what whas where in this huge castle.

Stopping for a second to glance around, she suddenly spotted a door around the corner and headed straight for it. Staff Room. Aha! Found yooooou!
With a satisfied smile, she grabbed the handle to open it...but the door seemed stuck or something. Were you supposed to have a password or something? Meh. If Tate had told her something then she'd forgotten.

But goshdarnit, she was going inside!
And so she started to jerk the handle and trying to push the door open and anyone who was inside probably thought a break-in was in process. Heh.

"Stupid...abrete!" Open up, dammit!

Just getting into a good part about numbers in the year 3000, Fina heard a small commotion outside the staff room. Raising an eyebrow in alarm, she shrugged it off at first as some students being noisy. Some other professor or prefect on patrol would handle it, right? Attention back on the chapter, she resumed reading for no more than a paragraph when the noises continued.

But it was odd cause it sounded only like one person rather than a group of students. Reluctantly she stood from her spot on the armchair and propped the book open on its seat, moving toward the door. This better have been a real emergency . . . interrupting her reading time like that!

Opening the door with one hand and the other on her hip, she tilted her head at the woman outside the door. It was a new professor, she knew that much, but who she was, Fina had no idea.

"Ahem... can I help you?" She said, still standing in the doorway, as if overprotective of it like it was her home.

Why. wont. you. open. you. silly. stubborn. door-

HA-HA! Victoryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy - It opened...by someone else. Meh.

Maya smiled a little, but the other Professor did not look happy. And what was UP with the ahem? Pshhhh. Help her? Ummmm "No," she shook her head, "But thanks for opening the door." Now a slight fake smile appeared and then she made to push past the rather annoyed-looking woman.

So... this was the Staff Room. How...quaint. Yes indeed. "So, what does one do in here?" If you just sat down and read a book, Maya could do that in her comfortable cottage. Fo sho.

Maybe they had tortillas.

Okay that was not the reaction Fina had been expecting of the trespasser, who seemed to push past her like she belonged in this room. If she belonged here, then she'd have known the passcode, right? Unless she forgot it.

"Hmm. Okay then," she sighed, helplessly, shutting the door closed behind her. She'd get to the bottom of this woman. "So if I can't help you, then could you at least tell me who you are? I'm not sure the Headmaster would like unauthorized people in here." No matter that she didn't bother to say who she was.

And what was with the attitude of this young maiden? Seriously, yo! "Whatever one wants to do here, really." Honestly, it was her first time too, so she hadn't the slightest. But it seemed fairly cozy . . . and quiet . . . and no students disturbing.

Hm. Atleast there was fruit in here. Yep, that will do nicely.
Maya approached the table with the fruitbowl, stood and inspected it for a moment as she decided on what to eat. An apple - a juicy red apple. Yes nicely INDEED.

Oh the woman spoke! Haha, 'unauthorized people'. That actually made her smirk and maybe chuckle. "Maya Saylen." She rubbed the apple on her sleeve, incase it was all dirty y'know, but then reached out her other hand to shake the woman's - if she wanted to. The Mexicana wouldn't be bothered if she didn't get a name back, but it was good manners.

She turned around and looked some more around the room, taking a big bite of her apple and taking her time before swallowing. Mmmm. And you could do whatever you wanted in here? "Sounds...bueno. No students allowed in here, I assume." Because why would this room be good for if you couldn't use it to get away from those little fellows.

"You come here often then?" Hehehe.

So this woman was a fan of fruit. How fruity? Josephina just stood by the door for a moment or two before joining her at the table. Apples were overrated. At least when there was delicious eggplant sitting right there - sprinkled with some Parmesan . . . mmm!

So, the woman found her funny, did she? Maya Saylen . . . that name sounded so familiar. Squinting as she tried to focus on what the woman might have taught, she sighed disappointingly when she failed to recall the name. "Pleasure to meet you, Maya." She said, taking the woman's hand. "Josephina Hadley, Professor of Arithmancy." Not that the subject was necessary, but it was nice to know someone's position here at Hogwarts. You know, just in case you needed something pertaining to that subject.

Bueno? That was so not English. Or Italian. But her familiarity with the latter language allowed her to figure out its meaning. "You ... speak a second language?" Obviously. "But yes, that would be correct. No students." The highlight of the room, in Fina's mind. Turning, she went and sliced a few pieces of the eggplant onto a plate. Garnishing it with some Parmesan from the cupboard, she carried the plate back over toward Maya, and then took a bite from one of the slices. Mm . . . It's been awhile since she's had that.

"Not at all, actually. This is my first visit to this room." Sigh.
