Jayce walked down the corridor, with his hands in his pockets and his face a but glum. Okay.. so he still wasn't completely over the Trixie thing, but whatever. As he walked, he lifted his head slightly, and.. MERLIN'S BEARD! It was another dang statue. Oh, how he despised these things. Why'd they have to be so scary?! And of course, because he hadn't been paying attention, he was standing so close to it, that it could reach out and grab him!

Errrrrr..

He began to take tiny steps backwards, eye not daring to stray from that evil, scary statue. Heh. Why'd it always have to be statues? He'd be fine with snakes.. or mice.. or any other scary thing. 'Cept for birds of course. 'Cause those were pretty scary as well.

What was she doing here ?

She didn't even know where she was. Didn't this place like come with a map or something ? Even the mall came with a map and California knew her way around their like the back of her hand. She'd never understood that saying but she'd heard her parents and James use it a couple of times so she decided to use it too. She was walking a long, when she saw a statue. Not just a statue the most ugly statue she'd ever seen. And it looked like it was gonna kill her or worse make her Ugly.

She jumped back screaming, because in her head she was in need of help right now. She was being so unobservant right now. Although she usually was she hadn't even noticed the boy near her. But right now she was too trapped in her own thoughts to notice him.

As soon as he was far enough away, which happened to be on the other side of the hallway, backed up against the wall. Yeah. He was safe now. Right? The witch surely couldn't reach him from back here. Plus, wasn't she attached to the wall? But.. what if she could stretch herself? Shuuudder. That would be super scary.

But then Jayce noticed he wasn't alone. Someone else had come down the hallway as well, and she seemed to be scared of it too, cause she was screaming and all. Feeling very heroic and brave, the Gryffindor tiptoed forward, towards the girl. Why'd she look familiar? Surely he had seen this girl somewhere.. but.. where? As soon as he was standing right next to her, he held out his hand, hoping she would take it, then he could drag her to the other side of the hallway, to SAFETY.

"Hey." he whispered, eyes gancing back and forth between this very familiar girl and the statue. "C'mon. Take my hand. We'll be safe over there." he pointed to the opposite wall with his thumb.

Callie stood there, no she wasn't going anywhere NEAR that THINGGGG. It was watching her. She was sure of it. And it was jealous, although she didn't blame it for being jealous, because she waas far prettier than it because it was ugly. So it would be called it. Yesh. She still didn't noticed the boy until she heard footsteps she screamed somemore thinking it was the witch secretly coming towards her.

She looked to her right and saw a boy with really long hair. She was sure she'd seen him before, she tilted her head. Maybe Oliver had straightened his hair ? Surely it'd be pretty long if he straightened those curls they were like woah. But nahh he didn't look like Oliver she knew she'd seen him before. And before she knew it he was next to her holding his hand out. She looked at him and blinked.

"Are you just looking for an excuse to hold my hand ?" she didn't blame him of course, she was pretty who wouldn't wanna hold her hand ? She took hold of his hand anyways because she was scared so he could be her temporary body guard for a while. And plus he had soft hands.

Gahhh. The witch was going to eat him for breakfast, wasn't it? It was just like that story where the witch ate two kids, a girl and a boy.. Except for the fact that this girl was not his sister.. at least he didn't think she was... For all he knew he could have a bajillion and five sisters. Either way, he refused to let the witch eat him or the girl. IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, WITCH. GET OVER IT. He sorta kinda wanted to scream that.. but he decided better of it.

If only his owl were here, he'd tell the screech owl to go and get Eirian so she'd scare the witch away. 'Cause yeah, when she was mad, she could be pretty scary.

CLICK!

He finally realized where he had seen this girl. Thinking about his newish owl, Buzz, Jayce realized this girl had been at Eeylops when Mia had helped him pick Buzzy out. Errr. Now for the hard part.. What in the world was her name? Hmmmm....

WHUUT? "Errrr.." Confused, he watched as she took his hand anyway. He was still unsure as to how he shoudl answer that question. Yes, she was very pretty, but.. Hayley was pretty.. and.. and.. So was.. Don't say the name. Don't do it!

He pulled her towards the other side of the hall, and down a little ways. But they could still the witch. Jayce was unsure if the witch could see them though. With a shudder, he turned back to the girl. "Errrm. Hi. I'm Jayce." HAHA! Maybe he wouldn't have to remember her name. Maybe she'd just tell him.

Callie clung onto the boys hand with all her strength. What if the witch was SO jealous of her prettiness that holding this rather good looking boys hand made it worse. Because one she was a statue so she couldn't hold anyones hand not even ugly boys hands, *shudder* who would wanna hold a ugly boys hand ? And two, she was ugly so no one would wanna hold her hand which would make her MORE jealous of Callie which would make her wanna kill her MORE. She shreieked biting on her lip, her grip on the boys hand getting firmer as he pulled her over to the oppisite side of the corridor.

"Im....scared.." she said biting her lip. PSHT. California Renee Parker wasn't scared of anything. 'Sept Spiders, and apparently this witch. The fourth year through her head onto the boys shoulder and shrieked again. Meh meh meh. She just wanted the witch to DISAPEAR! like CLICK.

She looked up at the boy, she probably wasn't making this any better for him. He was obviously scared to and she was overreacting a little but she was scared. She glanced over at the witch statue thing before screaming quietly and putting her head on his shoulder again. MEHMEHMEHMEH. She was scaaaaaaaared like More scared than she was of Spiders and they were scareh!

She didn't even notice that he didn't answer her question, well she did but she didn't care because she was more worried about being eaten than when he was just looking for an excuse to hold her hand or not.

She looked up at him again as he spoke. JAYCE! She remembered him now. He was at the owl shop with Lucy and Mia. "Hi. Im Callie." she smiled she was too scared to tell him she remembered him.

MHEEEEP.

Jayce felt as if his hand were being crushed. Owwwies. It really hurt. And it just kept getting tighter.. and tighter.. and.. well.. tighter. Like a boa constricter or some sort of snake.. OUCH. Then the girl was shrieking and it seemed as though she was trying to make Jay deaf and injured all at the same time. But he understood why, the girl was scared. And yes, she had every right to be scared. Because the witch WAS scary.

"It's okay." The Gryffindor whispered, hoping the witch couldn't hear. "I think we're safe now." He said, somewhat calmly. But on the inside, he definitely wasn't calm. He was FREAKING OUT. Had he been alone, he probably would have been talking to himself, and.. he might have run down the corridor by now.. but, he hadn't cause.. he didn't want to look like a complete idiot infront of this girl.

OOOOUUUUUUUCHHH. The girl screamed again, causing Jay-Jay to loose more of his hearing. At least he still had his eyes, right? And then the girl put her head on his shoulder, and he couldn't help but smile a bit. Awww. He put a comforting hand on the back of his head and attempted to make what he thought were soothing sounds.

"There, there." he whispered, hoping to calm her slightly. He was never really good at that type of thing.. but hey, A for effort right? "It's alright. You're okay now." Had Eirian been here, she probably would have laughed at him until she cried.

Ahhhh.. He was right. YUS. He didn't have to remember her name after all. But of course, once she said it, his brain went CLICK! again and he remembered it. "Hi Callie." he said softly. "It's nice to see you again." Wow, that sounded creepy. What if she didn't remember him? Stupid Jay, stupid.

Whoops.

Callie loosened her grip on Jayce's hand she didn't wanna cut off his circulation or break his hand. She still kept hold of his hand though because she felt safer that way. "Um sorry if I hurt your hand btw." woah. That apology just Slid off her tounge. She never apologised, well she tried not to but yeah she thought she'd better. She clung onto him and sighed. She'd never been this scared in her lifeeeee.

The slytherin looked up at Jayce as he said it was okay. Okay ?! Was anything really OKAY ?! They could be about to be killed/eaten/made ugly by some ugly/jealous witch statue and Jayce was saying everything was OKAY ?! PSHT. Nothing was okay. Nothing. 'Sept for the fact that he had soft warm hands that was very okay. She looked back down at the floor before saying "Not to worry you, but she could like move or something scary."

Callie bit her lip, she really needed to stop squeezing his hand so hard and screaming and shreiking. She was prolly defening him. She tighten her grip on his hand ever so slightly, this time being careful not to cut of his circulation or something horrid like that, that could cause him to faint. Meh. If he fainted he'd fall and then she would fall cus he was holding her hand. That wouldn't be gooood.

A smile formed on California's scared little face as he put his hand on the back of her head in attempt to comfort her. "Thanks." she said wrapping her free arm around him. AWKWARD. She unwrapped it from around him forgetting he wasn't Jack. Meh they were alike. They both looked after her.

Again ? He obviously remembered her too. "Hi. You too." she nodded with a small smile.

PHEEEEEW.

YAY! His hand was finally released from the grip of DEEEEAATH. Ouch. It sorta hurt as his circulation returned. Mehhh. Oh well. He smiled as he looked down to his hand, and she was still holding on. D'aww. "Oh.. Um.. It's fine. No worries." It didn't hurt that much anymore. But he was just glad that he wasn't alone. Anything was better then standing somewhat close to statue alone.

The brunette glanced down at Callie, who still didn't seem like she was calming down. Mehh. He'd have to help her some more.. but how..? If only Opal was here. The big lug of a dog would surely make him feel calmer. No use worrying when she was there to protect them, right? "Yeah. she could." he nodded. "Maybe we should move a bit farther away?" he suggested.

Jayce smiled a comforting smile as she squeezed his hand a bit. Not too hard. It was perfect. Ahh.

WHOOPS. He was still holding onto her head. Eheh. He took his hand back, and shoved it into his pocket. Awwwkwwwarrrrrrdd. "Errr. You're welcome." Woah. She.. wrapped an arm around him? Errrr. He was confused. But then she took it away, and he was sorta sad. It was kind of comforting in a weird way since they were basically strangers.

"Yeah.." he trailed off unsure of what to say. Gahhh. Time for the awkward part of meeting new people. Talking.. Sooooo... errrr.. what should he say? Errrrr. "Sooo.. What year are you in?" he asked curiously, seeing the Slythering emblem embroidered on her robe.

This wasn't right. She was never this scared, and she was never this awkward with boys. She was constantly flirting with every boy she met, gathering they weren't ugly if they were ugly then she generally didn't talk to 'em so yeah she never flirted with them. But Jayce wasn't that bad looking yet...nothing. Maybe it was cus they'd just met. Nah. That'd never stopped her before.

Maybe it was cus she was scared.

That sounded like a reasonable explination and she couldn't be bothered to think of another explination anyways. She watched the statue, nodding slowly to Jayce as she suggested them moving further away. They couldn't move to a different floor completely because she'd know. Callie could tell she was clevah. She began to breath deeply inwardly and outly, eeeeh. She was likee SUPER scared. meh meh meh.

Then she heard a noise.

It was only like a creak or something but she was sure it was the witch moving or maybe she had some evil minions or something that she was sending in to corner them so she could turn 'em ugly. Her eyes widend as these weird thoughts ran through her head. She was so not feeling normal today. Maybe she was coming down with something. She let out a quiet shreik before letting go of Jayce's hand and wrapping her arms around him not even thinking about them being practically strangers.

She clung onto him listening closly for more scareh sounds. "Um..Fourth..." she answered listening some more..."you ?"

Jayce smiled at Callie, trying his best to forget that there was a hugry, evil statue on the other side of the hallway. He kept an eye on the statue though because if he didn't know knew what could happen to the two of them. It could eat them and they'd never see it coming. I'm watching you witch. He turned towards it a bit more, and narrowed his eyes.

Still glaring at the statue, he took a step to the side, pulling Callie a bit. He was feeling protective today. So, he stood in front of her, trying to hide her from the witch. It wil NOT touch her. Nope nope. Good luck witchy. He stuck out his tongue at the statue. If anyone walked by right now they'd probably be very confused.

MHEEEP. Was she hyperventiliating? She seemed to be breathing rather heavily. It was strange.. "Errrr. Are you alright there?" he asked, his voice full of concern.

CREEEEAAAAAK.

Jayce was so tempted to pick up Callie and run down the hallway towards safety. Maybe they could go to the room of requirement and hide in there. Surely the statue couldn't get in there. Then Cal had let go of his hand and he grew even more scared but then she was wrapping her arms around him and he felt somewhat better. He wrapped his arms around her too, keeping his ears and eyes sharp, listening and looking for any signs of movement from the statue.

Still embracing her, he nodded slowly, eyes still glued to the statue. "I'm in fifth." Errr.. another question.. "Errrm..." maybe they should just be quiet and listen for any other clues that the witch was moving.

Callie sighed. This wasn't good. She wasn't good. She was California. No. She hadn't said a stuck up, or a flirty comment in like 10 minutes and she was having withdrawls. Maybe they should just creep further down the hallway and then just sit and talk ? That way she could be more Callie-ish instead of clinging onto Jayce and possible cutting off his circulation.

Callie shuffled across the floor eyeing her shoes as they made a squeaky sound. She made a 'shh' signal with her finger to her shoes with her free hand before looking up to Jayce and smiling. He seemed nice. She let out a small sigh. This was so intense. She watched the witch and bit her lip. Ookay she didn't wanna stand here anymore. "Can we go sit over there ?" she said letting go off Jayce with one hand and pointing down the hallway a bit further.

She looked back at him as he asked if she was alright. No she was perfectly not alright but yeah he might get worried if she said that so she opened her mouth and said "Yeah im fine."

Callie nodded not really listening to what Jayce was saying or doing another smile formed on her face as he clung onto her aswell, this was nice. Sorta ish. Okay no she wasn't standing here any longer that witch was really scarying her. She let go of Jayce and took hold of his hand pulling him down the corridor she whispered. "C'mooooooon." Then they could go and talk and she could be noooormal. Yesh.

"Nice to know. Now can we pleaseee go down thereeee." she said pulling on his arm some more.

Jayce wasn't sure what to do now. They should get out of here. But.. but what if it followed them? Shudder. He'd attack it with his wand. MWAHAHA. He remembered one good spell when faced with an obstacle of some sort. Bombarda. His new favorite spell. Smiiiiirk. If he remembered correctly, it would make things.. EXPLODE. Awesomeness.

SQUEAK.

He jumped. Almost out of his shoes.. until he realized it was Callie's shoes that had squeaked. He chuckcled at himself for being so stupid. He thought it was cute when she shushed her shoes. D'aww. He returned her smiled before taking her hand again. "Of course we can." he whispered. Pssshhh. Hopefully the statue couldn't hear him. Then it wouldn't know where to find them. Oh yeah. He was thinking ahead.

Jayce nodded when she told him she was alright. The Gryffindor began to tiptoe down the hallway, still gripping the younger girls hand. He wasn't letting her go just yet. He stopped for a moment to look back at the statue, making sure it wasn't following them. It wasn't.

But then she was pulling him down the hallway some more and he obediantly followed her, glad to get away from that.. that thing. "I'm coming, i'm coming." he grinned, following her some more. He threw one more glare down at the evil witch statue thing before turning his full attention on Callie. Yeap. She had fuuuuuull attention now.

He smiled brightly at her. "Of course we can. C'mon let's go." he said, going down the hall some more. "Shall we stop here then?" he asked, now that they were almost out of sight of the statue of EVIIIIL.

Callie gripped onto his hand as they both tiptoed down the corridor. It was pretty pointless for her because she'd decided to wear sneakers today and apparently they didn't call 'em sneakers for nothin'. Cus they made squeeaky sounds alottt. Meh. Or this pair did. As they reached what Callie thought to be a suitable place she stopped still holding onto Jayce's hand because it was warm, which she wasn't.

She nodded as he asked if they should stop here, although she'd already stopped. She looked up at him. MEH She'd better say thanks. "Um Thanks." she said standing her tippytoes and kissing him on the cheek, yeah he was a stranger but she couldn't loose her cool all together. Meh. But no Kissing someone on the cheek wasn't as fun as kissing them properly but as she'd said he was a stranger so yeah she didn't wanna freak him out or anything maybe she would in a little while. Shrug.

Jayce laughed quietly as Callie's sneakers sqeaked the entire time she walked. Luckily enough for him, they were far enough away from the statue, that he felt a whole lot more comfortable. Squeaaaak. Squeakkkk. SqueakSqueakkkkk. Squeeaaaak. He chuckled. So funneh. Surprisingly for once, his shoes were somewhat quiet. Well, if he was careful, they were pretty quiet.

Jayce turned his head towards Callie. He grinned, "Anytime, Callie." he replied. Then she was coming closer to him and.. Kissing his cheek? Aww. That was sweet. Jay grinned shyly at her. His way of blushing almost. She was soo nice. He felt like the luckiest guy alive. Always meeting the sweetest kindest girls of Hogwarts. "So..." he said, unsure of what to really say. "How's your owl? You had gotten a new one right?"

Callie looked down at her shoes and frowned stupid shoes making squeeeaking noises. Witch's can hear yknow. MEH. Atleast She could finally be herself. She sunk back into her own thoughts about, well obviously herself because she was just too self centered like that. Ignoring Jayce for a moment she snapped out of Callie ville and looked up at him as he spoke.

She looked up at the fifth year before letting go of his hand and sliding down to the floor. Okay so she didn't like sitting on the floor cus it was all germy and such but she was tired and if she was down low the witch wouldn't be able to see 'em if she did move. How was her owl ? Her owl ? What about her ? They'd almost been killed and he was asking how her owl was. "Fine...i think. Um yeah I did." she didn't really know how her owl was.

Jayce slipped his hands in his pockets and rocked back and forth on the balls of his feet. Wibble, wobble. He felt like a see-saw. Annnnd... it was fun. He glanced over at Callie to make sure that the witch hadn't showed up and attacked her while he was busy acting like a child. With a sheepish grin, he realized if someone had been attacking her, he would have surely heard it and probably felt it if she decided to squeeze his hand again. Owwww, It hurt to think about it.

The Gryffindor, kept a close eye on the younger girl, looking for any signs that she was hurt. He galnced up and down her, before confirming that she seemed okay on the outside at least. Jayce averted his eye down the hallway to make sure the witch wasn't coming before lookign back at Callie. But.. she wasn't there? WHERE'D SHE GO?! He looked down a bit, and there she was, sitting on the floor. PHEEW.

He had thought she was a goner. Lucky for him, she wasn't. He himself, slid down the wall, and sat beside her. To him, she didn't seem like the type who enjoyed sitting on the ground.. but he could be wrong. "Oh.. err... That's cool." he smiled brightly. What else to ask her... Hmm.. "So, tell me about yourself." Might as well get to know eachother since they had just survived the evil witch.

Callie was really scared. She was woorrieeeeeeeed. Worried that the witch was gonna come and eat her, that'd be the end of pretty little California. Meh. The world would be sooo depressed. No more Callie walking around spreading all her prettyness and yeah this place would just be boring again like it was before she'd come here because she gave this place prettyness and character. Yesh she knew. She looked up at Jayce before looking the other way to try and see the witch but yeah she was unseen.

Which made Callie even more scared.

Callie sighed. She knew the second her and Jayce got deep into conversation and getting to know each other, yknow as friends do the witch was gonna come behind them and Jayce obviously wouldn't see because he was too busy talking to her prettiness and then they'd both be never seen again. And everyone would be so sad because her prettiness was GUHONE. And yeah Jayce's friend would prolly be upset too. She looked to him as he asked her to tell him about herself. "Well my names Callie. Im 14, My birthdays on the 1st of January. I was born in California and Im in Slytherin. What else you wanna know ?"

Jayce still felt uneasy about the whole creepy statue ordeal. He'd been watching waaaaaay too many horror films for his own good. Meh. No more late night tv watching, especially horror films. It would totally be okay to watch Toy Story before he went to bed, since Toy Story would never betray him and give him nightmares. Never. Hmm.. Maybe if Eirian was here, she could scare the witch away. Now, that would be hilarious, annnd.. just like her.

Hehe. Scary!Eirian.

Jayce needed to focus on something other than the evil!Scary!Witch!Statue down the hall. Anything would be better than that.. so.. Maybe he should focus more on Callie? Yes? I think so. He attempted with all of his might to tune out all of the sounds around them. It sorta worked.. Hmm.. "Should i be taking notes?" he grinned at her. "Hmm.. Do you have a favorite movie? Or a favorite place you like to go?" What was he doing? It's not like he was doing a report on her, so.. what's with all of the weird questions?

Callie was scared. She was closer to the statue than Jayce so the statue could get her at any time. The fourth year got up and moved to the other side of Jayce before sitting down again. This floor was all dirty, they should really have maids around here. Not that Callie had a maid at home, unless James was counted as a maid. Not a very good one at that. She looked back at Jayce smiling slightly.

She was like not in a good situation here.

She was stuck on some corridor, with a boy she barely knew trapped by some evil witch statue could things get any worse ? Oh wait. Yes she could be trapped on a corridor, not knowing where she was with a UGLY boy trapped by some ugly witch. Yeah that'd be like much worse. Not things down ? If he wanted to. "Um. If you wanna I guess. Its up to you." random boy. "I like lots of movies. Like um. Toy story 3. Thats a cool movie. And I like to go to California. How about you?"

Such a hideous witch the statue was. Even if she didn't have the humpbacked, she was still ugly. Why anyone would make such a thing was beyond her. Unless the statue was depicting a real witch. If so she had to have lived a lonely life.

The young woman had been walking around the castle, doing a little bit of exploring. And maybe hoping to run into one of her handsome male companions. Seeing one of them would totally make her day.

Adam wandered Hogwarts like always, trying to see if he had missed any secret passage from last time. As he walked around he saw one of the Durmstrang girls and he walked right pass her, hoping to not get in any confrotations or such.

Sandra eyed the small boy as he passed by her. There was no way of getting away from the children in this castle was there. Didn't they have homework or some studying to do. Frowning slightly at the boy, she watched him as he moved passed. Wondering why he was here in the first place.

Adam knew he was rude just running away from her like that, so he slowly and bravely walked back. "Hello- I'm Adam...You're a durmstrang student, right? Are you in the Tournament?"He asked, his voice had cracked at least twice in that short moment.
