The Office of Alexia Carlton

In its time, this particular office has housed a number of different professors, most, Lexi Carlton would assume, bringing about their very own special flair for decorating, meeting, and greeting. Professor Carlton knows not what it looked like when it first came to be, nor does she ever recall visiting it during the years she attended school here at Hogwarts. She simply strolled into it a few months ago---just after being hired as the newest Charms professor---and...well, took over in her own special way.

Lexi is a pureblooded witch who was born and raised in Sevenoaks, Kent, England. Despite her birthplace and the fact that she attended Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, much of her life, so far, has revolved around living in the United States of America, where she attended a university and worked in the American Ministry of Magic.

Once inside the office, you'll find that it's typical of what a person would expect any office to look like. The professor sits at a large, wooden desk centered along the back wall. A wizarding portrait of the Carlton family of five decorates the wall just behind the desk. If you watch the portrait long enough, a Carlton or two just might grow bored of their pose and walk away. Don't worry, though, they'll be back later, of course!

Little odds and ends throughout the office, such as a miniature model of the Statue of Liberty and a framed portrait of Times Square, reflect Lexi's time away from her home country of Great Britain. A bookcase lining the entire left wall of the office houses Lexi's career-oriented literature, diplomas from Hogwarts and university, and a collection of framed pictures of family and friends. Don't let the professional appearance of the office fool you into thinking Lexi is all about work and no play, though. In between staff meetings and teaching class, the Charms professor enjoys sitting back, relaxing, and thumbing through the latest edition of Witch Weekly. It's typical of Lexi to have a couple of issues squeezed in amongst the literature, diplomas, and pictures situated on the bookcase.

Hesitantly opening the door until it was wide enough, she steped into the office. She let her bright eyes glid over the objects in the room and search for the dog, taking note of a few familiarities before she finally turned them to the new professor. She gave the woman an easy smile. "Hello professor..." Her hand still on the doorknob, she swung the door wider to reread the name. "Carlton!" Arya gave the knob a turn before finally closing the door.

Still glancing around the office, she strode over to the desk and finally took a seat, picking up the swing of her feet. Arya removed her pygmy puff from her shoulder and held him in her hands, stroking him gently. Though she was still looking for the dog a few items in particular had held her eye, like the Statue of Liberty and framed portrait of Times Square. So she was from America, or alteast she had visited, they had something in common. Turning her eyes from the distractions, she looked back to the professor and spoke again. "I'm Arya Lovegoods, second year Hufflepuff." Now that her introductions were out of the way, "Did I hear a dog?"

As she watched and waited for whoever it was on the other side of the door to come into the office, Lexi sat back in her chair, crossing one leg over the other as she did so. A moment later, the door opened all the way, and a young girl made her way in. She laughed lightly as the girl took a wild guess at remembering her name. "You're good," she told her, referring to how she got the name correct on the first try. "If only I could remember names and faces that well. Then again, there's sixteen or so of us and hundreds of you." It was probably a lot easier to remember the names of the sixteen professors than it was to remember all the students.

Prince Charming wasn't quite as welcoming as his owner was, though. The little Chihuahua had retreated under Lexi's chair just as soon as the door had cracked an inch or two. The professor peered down at the little dog and nudged him with the side of her heel. "You did hear a dog, Miss Lovegoods. You heard Prince Charming, my little Chihuahua. He's...just under my chair," she said. "Maybe if you call to him, he'll come out." She opened a drawer to her desk and pulled out a bone-shaped dog biscuit. She slid ittowards Arya, inviting her to offer it to Prince Charming. "Don't worry, he doesn't bite. He's a tiny little thing, too."

Kevin made his way along to the charms professors door and he knocked on it hoping that the professor was at home

Anxious to see whether or not Prince Charming would want the dog biscuit bad enough to come out and about with company present, Lexi turned her attention back to Arya. Just as she opened her mouth to urge the girl to go ahead and offer the biscuit, a few more knocks were heard coming from just outside the office door. "Oh, my," she said to Arya. "Looks like you'll have lots of help in trying to get my little puppy to come out and about to play." She laughed a little then looked towards the door. "Come on in...both of you!" There had been knocking a few seconds earlier, too, so Lexi assumed there was more than one person waiting outside.

Kevin entered the professors office and said "Hello Professor my name is Kevin McKay i am looking forward to attending your lessons this term"

Arya grined at professor Carlton, names did tend to come easy to her. "Well it is more of us than it is of ya'll." She was of course referring to the professors. "Though I still have a some more to learn, there are a few more new professors that I haven't meet yet." She still didn't know just how many classes had new professors, only three came to mind including charms.

Professor Carlton held most of Arya's attention, but out of the corners of her eyes she was still looking for the little dog that she had heard. As she looked her eyes flickered to the portrait behind the desk, momentarily distracted by a family member who decided to leave the picture. The woman who left looked a lot like professor Carlton, just the hair color had been different.

Ah ha! She did hear a dog! Arya grinned at the dog's name. "Prince charming, I like the name." She peered under the desk and sure enough there was a cute little Chihuahua. Taking the treat from professor Carlton, she placed her purple pygmy puff on the desk and peered back under the desk to the little dog. "Thanks, that's Smore." Arya held the treat out towards Prince Charming, waving it slightly in the air for him to take. "Come here Prince Charming, come get the tasty dog treat. I won't bite." She cooed softly before whistling soflty. Arya heard other students enter the office but paid them no mind as her attention was on the cutie using professor Carlton as a shield. Pushing her chair back a bit, she moved to the floor and sat down so to be less intimidating to the timid dog.

After hurtling himself at breakneck speed into the office, little Ty took a moment to calm himself down before looking towards the Professor. Oooh, she looked nice! Nodding at the other kids there, he was about to start talking when he noticed that the girl was cooing at something he couldn't see under the professor's chair.

Frowning in confusion, he bent down a bit - he didn't have to go too far - and spotted a dog. "A DOG!! Professor, you have a chihuahua!!" Ty exclaimed happily, pointing wildly at the puppy under her seat. SHE HAD A DOG. HE wanted a dog toooooo!!!

"Oh, I'm Tyler Adams - can I feed it too? What's his name? Where did you get him? Can I get one too? Is it a he? It looks like a he, and she" he pointed at the cooing girl, "keeps on calling it Prince so I'm assuming it's male," Ty rambled on excitedly, his eyes as big and as round as always as he plopped down onto his knees so that he could see the dog better.

"Hiya!" he waved merrily at it. Dogs generally tended to like him - hopefully this one would too!

"Well thank you, Mr. McKay. I'm...actually looking forward to my lesson, too. Teaching them, that is," she replied. The thought of her very first Lexi sort of made Lexi...well, really, really nervous, but at the same time, it was an exciting type of nervousness, too. "Lexi took the heel of her shoe, placed it on a nearby chair, and slid it a little closer to Kevin. Take a seat. We were just trying to get Prince Charming to come out from underneath my chair." In a matter of minutes, the little Chihuahua would more than likely warm up to the students and come out to play. It just sometimes...took a while, yup.

"Mmhmm," Lexi said, nodding her head in agreement. "From what I hear, though, there's actually a lot of new staff members this school year, though. I've only met a small group of them myself." Lexi briefly wondered, again, if there was a reason for so many comings and goings on the Hogwarts staff. Everything from retirement to being eaten by a Nundu had crossed her mind. Of course, the whole Nundu story was not likely at all, but this was Hogwarts.

Lexi followed Arya's gaze to the Carlton family portrait. Allie was currently strolling away from the rest of Carlton's---that Allie...she never was the one to stick around for long. "She's my twin sister, Allie," Lexi said, still looking at the portrait. Allie was long gone by then, though. "Well, she was just there...a moment ago, at least." Lexi shrugged then turned around to see if any progress had been made with Prince Charming.

"Prince Charming...yeah, thanks. He was a gift from Allie back when I was first hired to teach at Hogwarts," she said. She blinked, and a rather blank expression spread across her face as a large, purple cottonball---a pygmy puff---was placed in front of her. Lexi hadn't had much experience with pygmy puffs, so she just eyed the creature with curiosity, finally giving it a thumbs-up sign...for whatever reason...before turning back to Arya.

With his little Chihuahua ears straight up in the air, Prince Charming took one hesitant step away from the chair. Lexi nudged the little dog with her foot. "Go on...she won't bite," she said. Or, Lexi didn't think she would, at least. The nudging caused the little dog to stumble ahead far more than he would have liked to, but soon enough, he was standing right before Arya. He sniffed her for a few seconds then took a teeny tiny bite out of the treat.

When the next student---a little Ravenclaw boy---came flying (by foot) into the office, Lexi jumped in surprise. Thinking something horrible was in the midst of happening, Lexi banged the palms of her hands on the desktop in an effort to push herself up from the chair as quickly as possible. Oh, Merlin! The pygmy puff! Lexi hadn't squished it, had she? Or...flung it across the room, maybe? A glance at the desktop told her that she hadn't accidentally damaged the little purple cottonball. Whew.

...but this child! "What...in Merlin's name?" she asked, still thinking terrifying had happened.

That was when the boy---Ty, he said...oh, Lexi's brother's name!---started talking nearly a million miles a minute. "I...uh...wow. Nice to meet you, Mr. Adams," she said, laughing lightly at his enthusiasm. "My little Chihuahua's name is Prince Charming, and yes, you may feed him." She opened the drawer again and pulled out a second dog biscuit. "He likes these," she said, placing the biscuit on the desktop and scooting it towards Ty. She'd mentioned that her brother was named Ty, too, but she had a feeling her words would be meaningless with all the interest on Prince Charming.

And apparently, pretty Professor was one to be scared quickly. Blinking in surprise at her reaction, Ty smiled apologetically. Or, well, as apologetic as a hyper twelve year old can get. "Sorry Professor - but there are evil plants outside. I've just been to the wicked Professor Dodson's office and he told me that there really WERE plants that were HARMFUL so from now on, all plants that aren't pretty flowers or trees - except for that one on the grounds that beats people up - are evil," Ty finished up his long explanation, hoping she would calm down. He didn't want to make a Professor croak of a heart attack!

Wait. His NAME was Prince? Prince CHARMING. Odd name. "Call me Ty," he said automatically and deftly caught the doggy biscuit off the table. "Thank you Professor!" Ty beamed at her before swiftly plonking down onto the floor, holding out the biscuit in his tiny hands for the dog.

"Here, Prince Charming! Here, Charmy Boy - it's a biscuit! You know you like them... And I'm Ty. . . I'm going to be your FRIEND!" Ty said to the chihuahua, a HUGE grin plastered on his face. This dog was so cute.

"Really?" She said from her position on the floor, shifting so she was sitting on her knees and able to see both the dog and the professor. "Hmm, I didn't realize so many had left, just knew of two really." She didn't give it much thought as to why there were so many new professors, doing so would eventualy have her think about the events of last term and so far she had done a good job of avoiding that particular subject.

Her eyes went back to the portrait as professor Carlton told a bit about her sister. "Your a twin. My younger siblings, Peter and Annie are twins. Does she teach as well?" Not cause they were twins or anything, well maybe cause they were twins. All Arya was really doing was trying to find out more about the new professor.

So the litte dog was a gift from her sister, pets did make the best gifts. She herself had just given the twins each a pet for there birthday. Waving the treat a little more, she looked up as professor Carlton gave Smore a thumbs up and grinned with amusement. "Is this your first teaching job?" When Prince Charming took a step towards her, she gave the treat another wave and whistled again, encouraging him to take another step. Arya bit her lip to keep giggling at the professor's comment, she didn't want to scare him off. Sweet success! He took a bite out of the treat and she was beaming. Verrrrry slllllowly, she reached her free hand up to pet him under his chin.


The excitment of the other students was to much for her to ignore, turning from the dog she watched the boy with slight amusement. Evil plants? She believed that, the whomping willow was a prime example. Arya smiled at the other boy in the room before looking back to this one, smiling warmly before turning back to the dog.

Sophia entered the room. It was an awesome room. She noticed a lot of beautiful things. Thinking back why she's here, she looked for her professor. The professor was sitting at one side. Sophia said, "Good day professor! I'm Sophia Diggory, 1st year Hufflepuff." She glanced at the other students and smiled at them. Then, she noticed another one -- not a student nor a teacher. It was a dog. "Cool!," she thought to herself.

Kylie bounced into Professor Carlton's classroom. There were so many other students inside, she wasn't exactly sure what to do with herself. She strolls over and takes a seat in an open lounge chair, hoping that the professor won't forget she's there. Thinking about it, she decided to not be so...passive, so polite, waiting around for her chance. It was so... not aggressive. So not bold, like her usual self.

She continued to sit her seat, although realizing she prrrooobably should have stood up.
"Hi. My name's Kylie Jayde Matthews, Kylie, if you will. Third Year, Hufflepuff."

She ALSO realized by sitting down she looked sort of like a pompous fool, so she stood up, ready to shake her new professor's hand.

She smiled one of her gorgeous, heart melting smiles.

Kylie wasn't really the type of person who necessarily WANTED her extreme beauty--beauty that generally could only be found in a magazine. She just sort of had it. Generally, she tried to downplay it as much as she could. But, one thing she couldn't downplay, no matter how hard she tried... her smile.

Evil...plants? Lexi thought about the outside of her office for just a moment. The last time she checked, her pretty little puffapods hadn't taken to attacking anyone. It wasn't even in the nature of a puffapod to...oh, wait. Puffapods contained fat, pink seeds that burst into flower when dropped. That wasn't evil though, was it? Lexi had always gotten a kick out of seeing the sudden extreme blooming of a puffapod. "Evil plants outside? Where?" she asked, curious as to exactly where this little boy had been. Surely he wasn't afraid of the puffapods!

Suddenly Lexi was able to put two and two together and figure out the reason Ty had run into her office at top speed. He definitely was afraid of the puffapods---or that was the conclusion she'd drawn, at least. "You mean the ones outside? The pink ones? Those are puffapods, and they're not evil," she said. "Sage---Professor Dodson...was correct, though. There are evil plants. The Venomous Tentacula, for example, can reach out and grab a person with it's long vines." Lexi thought that may just confuse Ty more, though, so maybe it would help to explain that he likely wouldn't have a run in with any Venomous Tentaculas while just strolling throughout the castle. Then again, this was Hogwarts, and there was never any telling what a person would find here.

While Ty busied himself with trying to get Prince Charming's attention, Lexi turned her attention back to the other children in the office.

"Mmhmm...really," Lexi replied. Hmm...how many new professors were there exactly? "Let's see...Arithmancy, Astronomy, Charms, Divination...hmm...Herbology, Potions, Transfiguration, and...oh, there's a new Healer, too." Wow...maybe Lexi had learned a little more names and faces than she thought she had. Or maybe she was just really good at remembering random lists---like the list of new staff members she'd just told Arya.

Lexi nodded in reply to Arya's question about being a twin. "I am a twin, but Allie and are very different in lots of ways. She's never really shown much interest in teaching. She's the Senior Undersecretary in the Ministry of Magic," she explained. If only Allie did enjoy teaching... Lexi would have loved to have had her on staff, too. "Your younger siblings, do they go to school here, too?" It was possible...if they were only a year younger, that is. "Oh, and...yes, this is my first teaching job." That...was okay to admit, right? It wasn't like she could lie and say she'd held tons of teaching jobs, though.

Prince Charming nuzzled the side of Arya's hand a little, then took a much bigger bite out of the dog biscuit. He chewed happily as he bounced around and around in little circles. When he finally came to a stop, he scurried over to the biscuit Ty offered and took a bite of it, as well. From the actions of the little dog, it was easy to see that he'd finally warmed up to the idea of company...and having new friends.

"Oh, hello, Miss Diggory," Lexi said, glancing up to see that a Hufflepuff girl---well, two Hufflepuff girls, actually---had come inside. At least now she was sure she hadn't been hearing things...someone really had been knocking on her office door a minute ago. "It's nice to meet you. I'd offer you a dog biscuit to give to Prince Charming," she said, nodding at the Chihuahua, "but I think he'd get sick if we gave him anymore." She watched her little dog happily play with Ty and Arya for just a moment before saying anything else. It was official---her dog had warmed up to visitors and, Lexi guessed, would probably start expecting dog biscuits everytime a new one came in. "I'm sure he'd like a new friend to play with, though. Or you can just take a seat if you'd like."

On that note, Lexi turned to the other Hufflepuff girl who'd come inside. These Hufflepuffs were really welcoming children, yup. It had been the Ravenclaws at the Start-of-Term Feast. Now it was the Hufflepuffs in her office. One, two, ...three. There were three of them in her office now---three hufflepuffs, a Ravenclaw, and a Slytherin. Where were those Gryffindors?

"Well, I'm happy to meet you," Lexi said, returning the girl's smile. Seeing people smile always made Lexi smile. It was just a natural reaction she guessed most people had. She'd offer the girl a seat, but she'd already sat down---which, of course, Lexi didn't mind one bit. She hoped the students would feel comfortable enough to not feel as if they always had to ask for a seat. "...and how are you today? Enjoying your third year so far?"

Kylie smiled again, extremely relieved and already finding herself liking her new Charms professor. "It's going swimmingly, I mean, classes haven't really begun as of yet... but I'm excited to be back!"

Suddenly Kylie wondered if her new professor might be excited to be back, "Excuse me, I mean, if you don't mind me asking, did you go to Hogwarts?"

She always found the lives of her professors very interesting, but never liked to push too much. It was THEIR life, and if they wished to disclose it, it was her opportunity to learn. She tried to pick up as much as she could from the professor's office--already trying to think of a gift for the kind professor.

Wow, almost EVERYONE had left Hogwarts, thankfully with the exception of her favorites. She of course wasn't thinking about Potions because that would lead her to think about other not so pleasant events. She would miss her old professors and even the healer, but looking on the bright side (something she did often) it meant she had a whole knew slew of professors to befriend.

As she listened to professor Carlton talked about her twin, her smile growing as Prince Charming nuzzled her hand and took another bite out of the treat. Working as Senior Undersecretary didn't sound like a thrilling job, but Arya never was one for paperwork. She shook her head at the professor's question. "No, there only six. My best friend Ivory does though, she's a Ravenclaw." She was like a sister, so it still counted right? Right. When the professor said she hadn't taught before, it made Arya curious as to what she had done before and thinking she didn't know what she had gotten herself into. Grinning she watched Prince Charming run around in circles. "What did you do before?"

"Thank you professor!" Sophia took the dog biscuit. Walking towards the chihuahua, she smiled at the two students playing with the chihuahua. "Hello!" she told them. She handed over the biscuit to the dog. She has never seen a dog before, honestly. She was pretty much amazed that she can see one now.

Swimmingly---Lexi had always gotten a kick out of that word. She supposed things were going swimmingly for her, too. Granted, the students had only been back in the castle for...what?...a few days now? That sounded about right. There hadn't been any serious injuries, break-ins, spells-gone-wrong, or near deaths yet. To Lexi, that was an accomplishment for Hogwarts. "Oh, well classes will start all too soon, then you'll be so busy you'll only dream of free time," she said with a laugh. Life for the professors wouldn't be too much different either. When she wasn't teaching a lesson, Lexi figured she'd be grading papers or busy in her office.

Lexi didn't mind being asked about her Hogwarts years. She figured the questions were going to come sooner or later anyway. So as long as no one thought she was a 2020 graduate or something like that, she didn't mind them asking at all. "I don't mind you asking, of course. I did attend Hogwarts. I was a Gryffindor, and I graduated in 2061," she answered. Lexi was only twenty-eight years old, so she could be honest about her graduation year and not feel like someone's grandmother.

Asking whether or not Lexi once attended Hogwarts was one thing. Asking what Lexi did before becoming a teacher was something entirely different, though. Lexi really hadn't done too much for the first few years after graduation. She'd been a barista at Starbucks, but...that hadn't really been anything amazing. She had worked at the American Ministry of Magic for a while, though! "Well, to begin with, I was a Barista at a coffee house called Starbucks. I pretty much...made coffee," she said with a laugh. "After that, I worked at the American Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Education for a while. When Allie moved back to Great Britain, though, I decided to follow a few months later. That's when I was hired here."

"You're welcome," Lexi replied. She leaned back in her chair as she took a few moments to watch the students play with Prince Charming. The little dog had never had so many people to play with at once! She'd have a hard time settling him down later on, but she loved to see him active.

Having just eaten two dog biscuits, Prince Charming sniffed at this new biscuit then took a hesitant bite of it. A moment later, he took a second bit---a slighty bigger bite---out of the biscuit then turned to lie down in his doggy bed. "Looks like someone is sleepy from such a big meal," Lexi said, laughing. "I think he may have had enough for now, but you can just toss the biscuit near his bed. He'll finish it off sometime later."

Kevin sat down on the chair that the professor had put out for him and said "So what school did you attend Professor" Kevin was wanting to get to know the professor a bit better so he could pass his charms owl

Grinning she watched Prince Charming hop off to his bed before moving back to the comfy chair infront of the desk. Arya listened to Carlton with intrest as she told her about her previous jobs. Her eyes lit up when she heard about her second job. "My dad works at the American Ministry of Magic, Misuse of Muggle Artifacts." Hmm, she would have to write him before the day was over. Her parents would like to know how her few days were going. She thought it was nice how she followed her sister halfway around the world, if she and Noah were closer in age she would have done the same thing.

Well she had gotten to know a lot about the new charms professor, and played with her puppy. Arya figured she should get back to her search for Ivory, but she wanted to ask Carlton a few questions about the class before leaving. "I don't suppose you can tell me about what we will be doing in your class this term? I didn't really learn much with the last charms professor."

Sophia sat down. "So how was your summer, Professor?" she asked.

Lexi had actually just told another student in the office what school she had attended and when, but she guessed it was easy for Kevin to have missed that. The office was pretty full and between the normal conversation and the students trying to get Prince Charming's attention, it was sort of hard to keep up with everything at once. "I went school right here at Hogwarts, of course. I was a Gryffindor, and I graduated in 2061," she said. Ugh, that meant Lexi had been out of school for an entire decade. Suddenly, she felt a lot older than she really was. "...and what year are you in?"

Eyebrows raised in interest, Lexi turned her attention back to Arya. Oh? Her father worked at the American Ministry of Magic? It was highly likely both she and Allie had worked with him then! "What's his name? I bet I worked with him at...some point in time," she remarked. "Tell him that Allie Carlton's twin sister is your Charms professor. He probably knew Allie better than he knew me---if he even knew me at all." Lexi had just been a division head in the Department of Magical Education. Her job was important, but it didn't make her nearly as well-known as her sister, who'd been the Senior Undersecretary.

Lexi gave Arya a shifty-type look when the Hufflepuff girl asked what they'd be learning in Charms class this year. Lexi didn't want to give everything away, but she didn't mind dropping a subtle hint or two. "Well, of course we'll have to brush up on the basics, but...I plan to put a little spin on them to liven things up a little," she admitted. "I'll tell you what. When you go to leave, take a quick peek in the room just to the left of my office door. ...a quick peek, and that'll give you a hint." She'd say no more, though. The rest would have to wait until the first class officially started.

"Hmm," Lexi said, thinking back to what had happened just a few months ago. "Well..., I spent most of it packing everything I owned and moving it from my apartment in America to my quarters here at Hogwarts." Luckily for Lexi, she was really good at the 'Pack Charm', so a little magic here and there had really sped things along as far as the moving was concerned. "After the move, I spent the rest of the summer setting up my office and classroom, and...wow, I didn't realize until now that I literally worked the entire summer. I'll have to pencil in a beach date next summer for sure." She shook her head a few times then laughed it off. "How was your summer?"

"Samuel Lovegoods," She responded, picking back up her pygmy puff and placing him on her shoulder. "He's worked there forever, been the head of that division for a while now." Arya didn't even atempt to recollect if he had ever mentioned the professor or her sister, she always zoned out when he spoke of work. The man could go on forever if you allowed him. Though it would be cool if professor Carlton had worked with her father, she would definitely ask him about those two. "I will ask professor, I'm sure he'll remember ya'll if you worked with him on one of his assignments." Those were many of the stories he told multiple times.

Arya didn't expect professor Carlton to give away any specific details when she asked the question, but she could always hope right? She was pleased with the little bit of information she did get from the professor, eyes gleaming as she thought about what could be in the room on the left. " I can really? Awesome!" Already imagining the craziest of ideas, how had she even missed seeing the door on her way in?

Kylie perked up at how honest her new professor sounded. Honest and kind. "Whoa! What was Hogwarts like then?" She asked, really without thinking. 2061 really wasn't that long ago, and in reality not much had probably changed. But, Kylie felt the need to ask anyway. Really, how many people get to ask that? Well... Hogwarts is really old... and tons of witches and wizards went here... so probably a lot. She thought to herself. Mentally slapping herself for even asking the question. But, too late now.

She rocked back and forth semi-nervously hoping her new professor didn't take offense. She already really liked her. Her bright green eyes twinkled with anticipation.

Sophia was listening attentively to what the Professor is sharing. She was amazed by the fact that the professor was still working during summer. Do all professors work too every summer? She didn't bother to ask. She just answered her question, "Hmmm. Well, my summer's pretty much all about being excited to go to Hogwarts, Professor. My parents decided to take me to Paris from March until 3rd week of April I think." She's counting while talking. "It was really weird seeing a lot of Muggles and their nonmagical objects a lot. Although I'm half-blood cause my mother's a Muggle-born witch, I didn't experience living in a Muggle way." She explained thoroughly. "After that vacation, we went home then I prepared for my school stuff." She added. "And up to now, honestly, I can feel the excitement that I'm finally at Hogwarts ---" And she stopped. She's talking a lot she noticed. "I think that's it Professor," she said, smiling and breathing deeply.
